Coach Micah B engages in a light sparring session with Muay Thai champion Jo Nattawat, focusing on technique and control rather than full power. Micah provides insights into strategic approaches in sparring, including baiting opponents, managing risks with a lower hand position, and adapting to unorthodox styles. The session emphasizes the educational aspect of sparring, with Micah underscoring the importance of learning and adapting over simply winning the bout.

Nice coach.
Thanks! 🙏🏽
The title should be changed to 'butter' bc of how smooth this sparring is
gonna change it now.
even with light sparring i always find my teeth smashing together, its always a good call to use the mouthguard. great video man!
Right on 👍
I think its good to share such videos.. respect eachother u need your sparring partners not to kill you.. ❤
agree
Superb sparring brother 🥊
Thanks ✌️
Need more sparring videos🙏🙏
More coming!!!
SMOKIN JO!!!!!!!!!
Love the spar voice overs. Sparred for the first time at my gym. I was gassed out first 8 mins. 💀 need more road work. Any tips about head movement/defense? I notice I keep wanting to roll my head like boxing or my hands just get pushed into my eyes and I can’t see. Keep up the content. 🙏🏻
You have to practice each defense on it's own, similar to building offensive combinations. They are useless if each component isn't great on it's own.
Nice job
Thanks!
Yo ur so right coach stay saying keep going dude I’m dying wtf
😆
Micah's evolution is 🔥! Rapper - pothead - coaching
Yup
Hitting that soju lmfaooo
Just subbed, I love this style of content, you seem like a dope dude to train with brother. 🫡
Appreciate it!!
Nattawutt and Tawanchai fight was CRAZY!! I can’t wait for their Muay Thai fight!
Coach any room for seconds? I finished the whole plate. Loving this content bro ✌️
😂 got u
Hey coach, you said you want Jo to work specific thing (go for the KO and be aware, work with someone elusive). Do you discuss these parameters with him beforehand? Or do you let him do his thing and come AFTER with comments?
Thanks coach, great vid!
He’s so experienced that we don’t have to talk much. Just feel
I've trained with Luke Lessei as well at Peoria Athletic Club, super passionate and incredibly fun to train with!
That’s my guy!
Arlovski did that backhand after a missed punch vs. Travis Brown.
Someone else who I've noticed do that is DC.
Good call
❤
We’re you holding back or? As could’ve done abit more of what he was doing from start
Where can i get some ellbowpads for sparing? Can you consider a thickness?
Mongkol Muay Thai is where I got mine.
my man went straight to the final boss. jo is a beast
all i needed to see in the thumbnail was joe nattawut
me too
come for the tips; stay for the mullet! xD
Haha yes
"You rarely see tawanchai adjust his shorts" lol
I loved that comment
Where are your knee pads from mate
Combat corner
Ou..ee... LOL
Hello from Thailand🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
what gym you teach at?
Wave Combat Sports. I own the gym.
whos #1 and 2# Tawanchai and Superbon ?
He really did beat Tawanchai. What a fight that was.
you right.
Just saw a second fight got announced but now in MT!!! Can’t wait to see Smokin’ Jo win this one!
1:00 😂😂😂
😂
Ah yes, Joe Frazier reincarnated as a Thai person
Bearing in mind Jo has had probably hundreds of fights. He doesn’t need hard sparring. For westerners who don’t have the exp, hard sparring is definitely important
You right
How much to spare with him?
Before his fights a lot
Need to work some Dutch guard and stay in the pocket if doing just kickboxing. Otherwise you get pressured around. Also clinch and throw light knees when he’s walking you down instead of moving backwards hands down. Cool video though. I’ve been kickboxing for 23 years and still going strong 💪 best sport in the world.
Working on it!
VIVA CRISTO REY ✝✝✝
is Jo Femur?
He’s Muay Mat (puncher)
When you get older, that hands down style becomes even more risky. Be willing to learn a new style if your reflexes slow.
true!
I mean this in the nicest way, but you had absolutely nothing for him and I don't really understand what you were trying to achieve. If you were the taller longer guy, why not stay on the outside and play to your strengths? You just sat in the pocket with him with your hands down and let him piece you up, regardless of the intensity you guys were going. Maybe I'm missing something?
Do you even train dude? Lmao
@@Otherself 12-14 hours a week yeah, I'm recovering from an injury but, 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week was normal for me. I'll be back to that pretty soon. I barely saw him teep or leg kick.
@@Dek5427u I'm asking not telling him and that's a completely reasonable thing to do. Stop getting butthurt on behalf of other people lol
Maybe he was trying to test his infighting, maybe he was simply overwhelmed. Your advice was alright but try not to come off too condescending even if you didn’t mean it that way🤝🏾
U sort of don't want to give ground to a thai fighter as he will pressure u into oblivion, also its very hard to teep them since they will sweep u very often. Also the intimidation factor. Also u wanna be respectful against such fighters, i think he was respectful by playing nattawuts style. Thai style, not much movement
Yeah bro hands up more letting him hit you purposely aseell as bc you were fatigued a lil
He did NOT beat tawanchai 😅
You right
He didn’t beat Tawanchai by the way.
you right
Your philosophy behind sparring is very useful
Thanks for watching
Thankyou very much coach. I actually have a hard time setting the pace, i always end up throwing with too much intent, even training with pros i made so many sparrings become a fight that i got invited to leave and never come back If you get me. I came from Karate, so i have great control but i guess the speed i use makes people think i'm using force, so they scale up and i scale up back...i'm trying to learn to spar like that but it's so hard for me. So thankyou very much, greetings from Brazil.
Thanks for the input brother! Keep working at it.
