Steven Seagal acts like how your family does at reunions when they find out you fight and they share their wisdom
Those annoying loser uncles
Gabriel is so polite. Imagine Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping or Icy Mike doing the review.
Icy Mike would be so annoyed with Stephen.
Icy Mike lmao, Seagall is a douche but Mike is a tinly little B. Dude is just an angry dwarf with ultra average skill and loudmouth lol Seagall can push him with his belly and sent him flying
Its a known fact that Steven taught Alex everything he knows. Obviously
I was wondering why Alex was so good. Now I know!
Too bad he didn't teach him English lol. Imagine needing a translator for this nonsense.
Steven Seagal teaching Poatan how to fight is like a chicken teaching an eagle how to fly.
Com on man.hahahaha!
Seagal has a reputation for beating up his stunt team. I think he legitimately believes he is an effective martial artist because he is used to literally "performing" his moves on the least resistive "opponents"
The only thing he is beating up now is in the bathroom, lol.
@@lons5472 buffet table
he also has a reputation of harassing female actors and pooping his pants when under a rnc :)
Pereira couldn't have ko'ed Hill without sensei Segal's guidance.
@@Ted_J_L and stepped on the foot
Seagal is the most delusional guy on the planet
But he sat in a chair for an entire movie! And then defeated GSP in another! He invented training UFC too! Lol
@@dozer11 he's been in the UFC for 35 years
What's aggravating is that he walked away from that meeting thinking that he fixed up Alex's game.
He'll be telling everyone, "I trained alex..."
Terrance Howard is gaining on him
I never know if guys like Seagal actually believe their own BS or if it's all just a money-making act
Pirera lucky to still be alive.
😂😂😂
Pereira is alive...for now. The chi-disrupting death palm strike doesn't take effect until later.
No, he was blessed by Steve front kick
😂
😂
One session with Seagal elevated Alex to black belt level.
I wonfer who would win a boxing match, Prime Mike Tyson vs Today's Steven Segal. Would be pointless to say prime Segal because he's in a constant state of prime.
prime tyson would destroy seagal.
seagal has never competed and Aikido is not a practical Martial Ats discipline
@@johnt2831 hmm I'm not so sure. I guess Tyson would have a chance if there was no chair for Segal to sit on. That's really his only weakness, standing up.
@@johnt2831nah seagal would win, you know seagal is a Part of a Mongolian tribe, right
Steven Seagal is more prime than the energy drink!!!
@@timbuckley3231 No he is not.
He's a clown
The greatest comment I read was that Steven Seagal was able to inflate an airbed with a single fart and keep it warm all night too!
Its how he won his recent fight. He stepped on his foot and ko him
you're too nice, gabriel
He respects 100% others,..... but Gabriel would pummel Segal if locked up in a room plain and simple... :)
He’s canadian
If he doesn't have grappling experience and the area is disadvantageous then honestly it becomes a completely different ballgame.
Right now he might be a bag of spoiled meat in a party city costume but at his prime he was a big guy, and even though Aikido is kinda closer to bullshit than Wrestling, Judo, BJJ, Sambo... if he managed to throw Gabriel it might be a very unpleasant impact.
In a ring where he could manage distance I'd imagine he could just pick away at him until he went into deep waters. There's no way a guy who runs like that does roadwork.
But if he can beat up Gene Labelle then we have a functional combat triangle
@@RancorousSea did you just said wrestling judo bjj and sambo are close to bs?
I admire your humility, but you have to be realistic. There is next to no scenario where Steven seagal comes close to hurting you in a fight.
That's nonsense. Anyone can for instance strike anyone in the trachea amd get the same result. No matter the fight win status of the target. 😂
@@SherrickDuncansure, we believe you lol
@toyoseries I don't really care whether you believe Me or not. However I 100% guarantee that you do believe Me. Because if you don't then there is a very simple test. Let Me elbow/web hand/axe hand or punch you in the trachea. If I am wrong you will be unfazed you super Gangster you. If I am right you will die.
But yeah we believe you that you don't believe in trachea strikes. 😉
But he can empty your fridge, and you die of hunger!
It's no how string he is is about the tecnits he is teaching it's marital arts dude as a MMA practice is learning a tecnit can be used mixted all
How much crack do you think seagal smoked?
All of it
Yes
None, he'd be skinny

The grand master of the mcdojo and the art of bullshido
Segal used to be fairly famous in Brazil, specially in the 90s…so guys in the late 30s/early 40s, such as myself have watched countless reruns of his movies…we had a afternoon tv slot for lower budget/older movies called “Sessao da tarde”(afternoon session), and many Segal movies would be featured on it…
I guess it’s kind of cool to meet the guy in person, idk…😅
Add the language barrier to it, and they might fail to understand how in bad faith he’s acting…from interviews in Portuguese with Anderson, Lyoto, Alex and some of their trainers, they see this as an opportunity to meet a movie star from their childhood, plus a lifelong martial artist that will show some nice cool looking moves…
And in all fairness, some of those might kind of work in specific circumstances, such as the fighting against the wall/cage…I’ve seen Pereira chopping on arms and legs from the clinch and bottom of the guard, so these might work for him…I mean, I keep my mind open to everything, if it works, it works….heck, I’ve seen people pulling out crazy moves in MMA… I remember one guy landing a helicopter armbar!
Do I thinks those moves are awesome? NO
Do I think Alex will bring a completely different, Akido based game? HECK NO
Could he begin to think abou different angles and targets for attack after these meeting? Maybe, idk…
All I know is that he had fun, that’s all that matters
CHAMA 🗿
I think they understand him as a performer and he's showing them part of his performance. He may have a personal delusion about what it means, but they are secure enough to give zero fucks. I'd fuck around and waste some time with him for shits and giggles.
Alex's coaches were genuinely impressed by Seagal. You can find his coaches interviews in Portuguese.
People love to hate what they don't understand. Seagal has trained Karate and Gongfu as long as Aikido. His Aiki Budo is closer to old WW2 hardcore Samurai Jujitsu. His black belt testing is brutal. He really did help Lyoto refine his Mae Geri technique. There's tons of footage of them training together privately on front kick drills.
@@AztecUnshaven Yeah man and Silva and Machida respected him too. That's why there's footage of them making fun of him.
@@RancorousSea Lol, let's analyze that response:
1.) Machida was not in any video making fun of him. He and his brother Chinzo have been in over 6 different interviews in English and Portugese stating that Seagal's skills are real. How are you ignoring this? Lol.
2.) Anderson Silva made a lighthearted video with a few of his buddies poking fun at Seagal's mannerisms and clothing style. Machida was never there in that video.
3.) Anderson has stated on at least 10 different occasions in longform interviews (in Portugese and English) that Seagal truly has knowledge and helped him refine his front kick. This is a fact, regardless of whether we like Seagal or not.
4.) You're conveniently forgetting that Anderson makes fun of EVERYONE. He's made fun of Wanderlei Silva, he's made fun of Machida, he's made fun of Dana White, he's made fun of Chael Sonnen, he's made fun of his own coaches numerous times. So by your own goofy logic, none of those fighters are "real" either? Lmao.
The definition of don't meet your heroes
The real question is why do these MMA fighters train with Seagal?? The guy is full of BS, yet for some reason some of these top level MMA fighters go to learn from him.
If i really had to guess, its probably Seagal or his PR team reaching out to try to get some kind of buzz or attention around his name and the fighters giving him a day for the heck of it
The guy's personal life has been exposed as a mess in the U.S., but it looks like to Brazil he's still an action movie star. His run in the 90's is underrated, maybe because he's viewed as a joke now, but no other martial artists from that era came close. He introduced pretty brutal breaks and takedowns to fight scenes that hadn't been seen before. Jesse Enkamp interviewed him on his channel, and Steven does seem to have some legit self-defense techniques. Like Gabriel said though these don't necessarily translate to MMA.
@@jameslkiii Steven had real skills, but it was overshadowed by his ego, his choice of martial art, and has become out of shape and old. Many of the people talking about steven dont really know anything about martial arts and body mechanics.
I can see Dana White pushing it to bring interest.
I once heard a documentary refer to him training Silva as "an elaborate and esoteric practical joke". I legitamely can't tell if it's just star power or a way for fighters to diss their opponents.
"I'm so unworried I'm playing around with the Shuffling Sensei."
Pereira did do the hand trap and punch on hill, he said he would do segal technique in the fight so maybe he did honor sensei segal
he also stepped on hills foot while doing so
"if i hit you with this... you won't get up"
Sure thing buddy
😂 I thought the same thing. I hope the translator didn't translate properly lol
i forgot who posted it, but on alex's instagram someone said seagal teaching pereira how to fight is like a goldfish teaching a pitbull how to bite
This is why Alex won. Steven is extremly dangerouse male.
Gabriel your very humble
"Recipe for desaster". Such an euphemism, Gabriel!
I love all the moves where the Aikido guy does like 4 very precise things in the time it takes for his opponent to do half a thing. They must have super speed.
Thank You Sensei Seagal you made Alex Evolve as a Fighter.
Steven teaching Alex the art of Bullshido. Steven would hurt him so so bad.
😂😂😂😂
I like how you break it down ! And put the logic into it !
Yes I believe in what you say 💯 you have got more belts then most ! So you are the man to believe!!
Alex definitely benefited from learning that new kick of segul. That's a very unique kick and hard learn
Love it. Can you do a breakdown of Seagal's videos with Jesse Enkamp?
pereira should’ve convinced him to spar 😂
I lost it there 😂 6:38 " that the heck?!👊" 🤣
Nobody’s talking about how he told him to step on the foot and drive the punch through… watch the knockout again in slow mode and tell me he didn’t do what Seagal told him to do. I’m NO Seagal fan BUT… watch it!!! 💯
Pereira has said that he stepped on the foot accidentally
If you watch this video on mute it just looks like Gabriel is practicing his dance moves
Please reference Martial Arts Journey.
That dude (roka, i think) is an aikido expert and has posted many videos about himself becoming self aware of the lack of utility of aikido in ufc.
His next instructor should be Master Ken. Once you've mastered the "kill face", you don't need to know any other techniques.
Hi, long time watcher here.
Could you do a breakdown of your latest fight, with the Latvian fella?
Segal is legit he taught me the right hook 💯🙏🏽
Hi Gabriel, do you have spanish ancenstry? you say by your last name. Amazing video!
Gabe, did you learn that from seikido? If you drilled it alot it might work. I esrned blk belt there and when I was grabbed in street fight, it worked. The seikido aikido was effective. I highly doubt it would work in an mma fight.
Parry and capture as u move in. It may work but it’s super hard .
Respect your patience level man , how did you watched the whole episode?? 😂😂
Brazilians love Steven Segal
Steven is a GOAT.
Lucky to even be alive during his existence.
Varga is acting as though he won't break every bone in Segal's body in a ''street fight''
When people overcommit to punches and fail to retract them properly, sometimes its possible to grab do something with it. Nothing like Seagal is showing, but I have successfully arm dragged people off of an overhand, or slipped their cross, trapped it with my opposite hand and landed a lead hook while their hand is stuck. I wouldn't try it in a fight, but sometimes I'll do it in sparring.
My question is why Seagal does this only with brazilian fighters? And how fighters like Machida, Silva or Pereira find some gain or interest by displaying themselves with him? Is Seagal big in Brazil?
He used to be, specially in the 90s…so guys in the late 30s/early 40s, such as myself have watched countless reruns of his movies…I guess it’s kind of cool to meet the guy in person, idk…😅

It's just publicity. It's for the fans. It's like an advertisement for both celebrities be with each other. It's gets both sides talking. You also have to keep in mind that a lot of people don't know who Seagal really is so a lot still think he's a real fighter like he is in movies
Yeah, we brazilians know who Seagal is, but these fighters are just being respectful, they know it will not work in a real fight
I bet he successfully pulls off at least one of the moves Seagal shows him. The thing about wrist joint locks, they usually have to be setup. Once they are on though it's tap or snap unless Tori makes a mistake.
I'd love for you an Rokas to do a video discussing Aikido and Combat Sports.
12:53 lmao. Not the low front kick follow up 😂
I agree that Aikido isn't the most practical in terms of martial art technique, but the skills developed in Aikido can be very practical and helpful in any other art.
Alex was simply being respectful and Seagal is big in Brazil, all the fighters just know that he's one of their movie hero's and they're being super respectful. It's publicity for both.
this guy steven are really crasy bro lol!!!!!
Sensei Seagal taught Pereira that move he pulled on Herb Dean
Checked the UFC rules, they classify wrists and ankles as large joints, so they're fair game.
Steven Seagal was once bitten by a king cobra. After five agonizing days of pain, the cobra died.
Rip
tbh i have seen front kick defenses with the knee but it's more like kneeing the opponents foot to move it sideways, the same way you would use your hand. here sensei seagull is doing the im about to pee my pants stance which is a little different but i commend him for almost getting it right :)
I can't understand how some people think hammer fists are as good as regular knuckle punches. They don't have much follow through power. You see both traditional martial artists and self-defence guys teaching it, it's a bit of a laugh.
Great to get Gabriel to explain how some of the stuff wouldn't work as I was thinking myself how bad was some of the stuff, but I couldn't quite know how to explain it.
If aikido was trained like sanda, combat sambo or panktratio (grappling arts than don't disallow striking) it would be pretty neat. Russians have long demostrated how powerful wrist control can be. But it is just a small part of the game.
I genuinely love that he's teaching them reverse karate chop moves that are less painful than a 15 year old freshman wrestler giving you their first crossface, with the genuine certainty that it will become the Knights of the Round of Alex Pereira's toolkit.
Pereira is like "who tf brought this dude"
Nah patieria defintly had respect for Seagal as he saw just how strong the guy is and his own technique which parieria respects as he perfected it
... Still waiting for s ridge hand ko in mma ... Prohaska might be the guy ro do it .. I'm sure its possible on a slack jaw or the neck 🙏
Hi sir Varga I 100 %agree with I personally think Seagal should stop his fancy technic which would not work in real fight where everything go really fast and moreover against ahigh level just like peirira and any other high level fighter as you said you have to have an opponent who plays your game
What an interesting video of Seagail Teaching Pereira but in all honesty some of these techniques which Seagal teaches to Pereira like how to scoop a front kick or how to throw a body hook just sound a bit ridiculous to me because Pereira is a Glory Kickboxing World Champion like you Gabriel but overall definetly an amazing video as always!
Seagal is very legit. He is a beast.
😂😂😂
Ahahah i was prepared for this title
Seagal lives in his movies
Pereira's hook broke nganou's punching power record recently
I think the training worked for Alex at UFC 300
Aikijujitsu (not Aikido) if a very effective martial art. Aikido is basically aikijujitsu with all offense taken out.
Literally all you have to do to defend against the “ridge hand to the neck” is lift your shoulder. One strike probably won’t be debilitating, so while they’re busy trying to karate chop you, you can do something way worse back to them.
Steven Seagul will be telling everyone how he taught Alex that left hook after he wins with it
Lil bit karate style. I found the same. Ooo true things
he teaches Jones oblic kick/eye pock, GSP's superman punch, Khabib's ground and pound and Perreira's left hook. It s all coming from Steven !
About that grabbing stuff. Ive been doing a lot JKD and FMA were we practise a lot of stuff like that. Grab it, pull, backfist, salute, defang the snake, gunting. Then hit here, kick there and throw. I really love the moves and the art. Now i've been doing a lot of kickboxing too. I'll now tell you all the times the grabbing, pulling stuff worked in a sparring:
Is it working yet?
Lol
I've got black belt in something very similar. The universal block works. The grabbing does not. Only if they grab you. It's meant for the street and absolutely not sport martial arts.
@@educatedcanadian7408 After years of experience my thought about "meant for the streets, not for sports" means "it works like shit"
@Election0747 it works on people who grab u. And many do grab. But mma fighter not gonna fall for it trust me. For street it's great yes
I know Seagal is is one tough mother. I've seen him beat up a bunch of 5' 1" guys on TH-cam videos,
He is the only answer to the midget menace! At least I still protect the world from girl scouts, but the short threat has flow under the radar.
9:55 Steven Seagal hitting someone in the back (not a punch but still impacting them) pretty much sums up what kind of guy he is
Steven seagal the best
People train with Seagal because it's high end PR and because they want to see if there are a couple things there that they can use. And there are. You don't go there to learn to fight like him, since you'd be destroyed or disqualified if you did.
How about that, this will make it 3 UFC Champs that all trained with Seagal and then won their fights. No other Martial Artist Actor has done that with actual fighters. JS.
Seagal is always fighting the "cooperative opponent". Seagal's opponent does what Seagal tells him to do.
You mean doing overly elaborate movements in slow motion, with an opponent who isn't resisting you, aren't effective in a real fight? Madness.
Too funny
😮
1. Gabriel actually likes Seagal movies? Yikes. Under Siege was moderately tolerable, but that's more due to Tommy Lee Jones and the quality of the script than anything Seagal did in that movie. The rest of his catalogue is atrocious, with his recent direct-to-DVD releases being absolute jokes. To me, if I want to watch an 80s/90s martial arts movie, I'm going with JCVD every time. Under Siege doesn't come close to Kickboxer, Bloodsport, Time Cop, or hell, even Cyborg... it's maybe close to Street Fighter.
2. Seagal has difficulties standing for any length of time and moves in slow motion. How Gabriel believes he might not be able to take Seagal in a no-rules fight is beyond me. Yes, Seagal outweighs him by over 150lbs, but I've seen both of them move, and there's no way Seagal would ever be able to touch Gabriel.
3. The weirdest thing about Seagal taking credit for what are pretty basic and standard front-kicks is that kicks aren't really a thing in Aikido (primarily because it's hard to throw kicks while wearing a dress). The idea that a fat old man from a martial arts discipline that doesn't really involve kicks teaching either a 3rd Dan Shotokan karateka or a 5th Dan Taekwondo fighter how to throw the most basic high front-kick is absolutely hilarious.
Pereira is a funny guy!
That ridge hand palm strike combo is from power rangers 😂😂
Seagull is my favorite martial arts bird
They are trolling him so hard. Listen to the stifled lol when seagal says, "i hit you with this, you dont get up" .
wristlocks are allowed! definetly sambo take on them is more straightforward for Mma tho. I think this is a great showoff of pereira's humility quietly listening to somoene who has different knowledge than his.
shin kick work in savate tho but they have shoes
Shin kick aren’t allowed in Savate actually
Much is impractical, especially for someone that is new to Seagal's style, like Perreira, but the strikes when pressed up against the fence can work, because its not about being smashed in the face and Seagal did stress the location of where to strike. Ultimately its the same as being punched or kicked on or around the ear, its the equilibrium that goes. I think that's the take away there... don't just hit the head, be specific with the spot you are striking to cause that problem for the opponent. That's what I took out of it anyway. A lot of MMA guys on here just discredit everything that is not MMA... but why do you think Perreira, Silva and Machida sought his experience? A true martial artist will learn whatever they can and make it work for them.
Let's see what happened. If A Silva can credit him for perfecting the kick, then maybe Poatan might learn a thing or two.
Master Seagal needs to be careful who he passes on his deadly aikido techniques.....some knowledge is simply too deadly to show mere MMA fighters...
Brazilian elite fighters have this thing about Master Seagal. To me, the only sure thing about Master Seagal is you won’t get up if he sits on you.
Seagal He just makes me laugh
After Sensei Seagal, possibly my Bio-dad, touched hands w Alex, Machida, & Silva did they win their fights by KO or not???? FACTS over your brainwashed internet parroting hearsay
I'm all for it. Let's have Chuck Norris teach Cory Sandhagen a side kick.
For me he is an actor and that is all.
I don't do aikido, but know people that do it much better than him so I don't think he is that good martial artist. I am a martial artist my self whole my life, did karate for 15 years than kick boxing for 10 years, and finally the last 5 years I am adding little wrestling and bjj (I am 41), so I can say that Gab is really generous with his comments 😊
I'm same as you almost. One thing I took was seikido which was karate with aikido and weapons etc. The striking was good. But the aikido worked only in street fights when someone (usually a roid monkey) grabbed me
Otherwise it's not very effective at all.
How much did seagal payed him?
glad to see someone actually honest but still classy about the real applications of these ....normally you see either people too polite or scared of Seagal's status/carreer or completely trashing it and being completely disrespectful (which I get it, he's too delusional, but there's no need to be an ass).
Was Segeal invited?
