Ok so I'm doing this job myself soon. I bought the gaskets and knock sensors already what else do I need to replace while I'm in there? Any tips for me?
Take your time! Be sure you bought the actual OEM knock sensors and not the lookalike knockoffs. I have to go back in and replace one because it was not authentic and the ecu does not like it.
Main thing is take your time and label bolts as you remove them. Also don't cheap out on parts. If you decide to replace the knock sensors while in there go to Toyota or lexus and get the OEM part. It will save you in the long run.
My car has 130k miles and starter went out but Dam after watching you do this I think I'm gonna have to pass on doing it myself. How much do you think it would cost in labor??
good call on the knock sensors. I replaced my starter about 6 months ago and now I get to take it back apart and do the knock sensors.
The speed disassembly at the end really impressed me. Kudos on everything you do in the future.👍
Stay on task!

Can you give some details on the troubles you ran into? i'm about to do this on '98 LS400 and it seems like major pain in the ass :)

Just get it from a reputable source. I bought mine from the local OReilly store with lifetime warranty.
