A week ago tomorrow I picked up my Platinum White Pearl Integra Type S at Valencia Acura in Valencia CA. Although I wanted a Civic Type R none could be found at MSRP or without ridiculous dealer add ons. My car was reserved for another customer who backed out last minute. I was sold the car at just MSRP. It did have a small ding on the top of the hatch which was promptly corrected before delivery. Nice review, thanks. This car reminds me of my favorite car I’ve ever owned. That was a 1990 Acura Legend sedan with a 5-speed manual. That car was so comfortable and yet so much fun to drive, especially with the 2.7L V6 mated to a manual transmission. That engine was silky smooth as a sewing machine. This truly is a Legend reborn. Economic downturns happen all the time, I agree. But thinking that car values will plummet all of a sudden need not look further than the last two years. Regardless, I'm not here to talk about economics so I appreciate your insight.
I have driven mine for 2000 miles now and honestly I love everything about it. I am considering changing the steering wheel to the alcantara one as wheel. But indeed I do love my stock shifter.
Have you ever owned an Alcantara steering wheel? I'm more than happy they have leather again. The alcantara gets disgusting from your hand oils. Gets all matted down and gnarly. And it's pain in the ass to clean. I'm very happy I don't have to brush my steering wheels multiple times a week
I personally have yes. Did for about a year and it helped up pretty nicely. Still just slightly considering it. Don’t know if I actually would pull the trigger this time

Yes, from my experience the microphone picks up calls quite well despite the noise. Thankfully, the ELS sound is so good that you hardly have to raise the volume to hear the other person. Usually I’m not even halfway on the volume and it’s already quite loud.
I gotta say something I've truly enjoyed watching this video! The way you grasp my attention to all the details that you've found out about your vehicle makes me excited to buy one. Thank you and you've gained a new subscriber!
I'm honestly grateful I have the A-spec w/ Tech CVT over this one - with the amount of features the omitted in the Type-S over mine. And 21 MPG that is rough... I can get almost 40 MPG regularly. It may not have as much wow-factor, but I certainly still have a lot of fun driving it regardless.
I had the A-Spec CVT (non-tech) as a loaner for a few days and I loved daily driving that car. Minus the extra features, it was just a solid, comfy, and fun car to drive during regular days.
I wished my TLX A-Spec was this color. I absolutely love the red accents and the aggressive look of the front end. I will be trading my TLX A-Spec in for one of these next year.
Just saw one of these today. Man, those rear over fenders are literally tacked on. They weren't even flush with the body of the car. The rear over fender had a gap between it and the body. WILD to see on a Type S with 300 miles.
I have a stock ‘95 integra and 2020 Si And I love how the Si is better in every way but the Integra it just feels more raw and natural. I love driving the integra to redline. In the Si I’m scared to redline.
I drove a 1997 Acura Integra GSR for 17+ years. Great handling car with the double wishbone suspension. Light enough to dance thru any S curves at speed feeling like it was on rails even though its FWD. Acura really did some magic job on that car. Hatchback design so the backseats flipped down to a big storage area. Now it would be injustice not to talk about the 4 cylinder naturally aspirated 8000 Red Line revving engine that with an AEM cold air intake let the meanest growl you could ever imagine with the stock exhaust. It absolutely terrified people in the warm weather with their windows down as I ripped by thru the gears. All for a reasonable $20,000 ! This new Integra Type S looks much bigger ( wider & longer). The turbo engine is a 4 cylinder work of art. However the cost of this car runs $51,000 to $57,500+ ! While the new Type S has a much nicer interior the function is still what the old Integra gave too. My gripe is that it will never be in the price range of most young enthusiasts like the old Integra. It was what 5 or 6 years that Acura got rid of the manual transmissions in their cars. This new Integra brought back the manual to Acura.
Totally get it but we also have to take into account inflation. Everything is much more expensive now and I think one other thing we forget is that a lot less younger buyers are actually interested in cars compared to our generation. This makes this more of a niche product as time goes on.
$52k is overpriced for this class of vehicle. There is so much more you can buy with the added dealer butt F%*# costs🤮 Shifting a manual transmission goes all the way back to the 1986 Integra 5-door, and through the GS-R, Type-R, and Type-S years. The original USDM Type-S arrived in June 2001 as a 2002 model. A manual is only a selling point for noobs now🙄
@@thehondacura3773 Noobs won't Buy a manual because they can't use their smart phones while driving ! Its the enthusiasts who want a manual transmission. Not someone who has never had one. The Type S doesn't come with a slush box for a reason ! Its not a car for the masses. Once the hype calms down I expect the prices will too.
Was very close of going with a ITS but ultimately went with the CTR last month. They both drive very similarly(obviously) but the interior of the Type R is ultimately what sold me. Both vehicles have some features that the other vehicle doesnt have and vice versa so its all about what you want to compromise and rather have more when it comes right down to it. ITS has few more bose speakers, better exhaust, rear LED turns to name a few while the CTR has better seats, racing/S2000 style odometer, data log, bigger wing ,etc. They both are great cars either way.
I preordered a type-S and they couldn’t get me the spec I wanted and wanted me to “live” with a few choice while marking it up 7k without the options I selected and wait a year. I went with an M4 built in Germany in 6 months got all the specs I wanted without markup. Don’t regret my decision at all and now when I see a type S I just chuckle
The way he said "Does that bother me? Not one bit" I expected him to sit down in the car, calmly pick up a paper bag, scrunch together the opening, and scream into it.
CT4V Blackwing is the only car I cross-shopped that had a microsuede headliner as an option. M340i, RS3, IS350/500, RS5/S5, TLX Type S, all didn’t have that. RS3 has much more piano black trimming.
@@GeronimoBigglesIntegra. Waited over a year on the RS3 and told maybe 2025. Caddy dealers were either perpetually sitting on autos and not budging on price (gad two cars for 10+ months) or selling manuals at big markups. Can’t stand the new screen system on the BMW. RS5 s my favorite looking but decided there’s better use of the money for other things in life and Integra dimensionally and style-wise is close.
I’m a long ways away from being able to get one of these but I can’t stop looking into them. Mx 5 seems more like something I could safely afford by next summer
At a price over $60k for a 4 cylinder turbo engine FWD vehicle, I wouldn’t touch this thing with a 10 foot pole. Over priced and not measuring up to the performance for the price. At this price I’d rather get a BMW M3.40i X Drive or IS500 F Sprot Performance Premium. This Integra type S is a complete rip off. Rather even get the TSX type S.
Thanks for sharing. Great to see Honda (Acura) made another type S model. It brings back so much memories when I wish i had a civic type R back in the days.
I wish the Acura TLX Type S came with a manual transmission. At 6 foot 2 inches I just cannot fit in this car but I can fit nicely in the TLX. It just floors me that a manual transmission cannot be in a mid-sized car like the TLX. I owned a 1995 Acura Legend V6 5-speed in college and loved that car so much. A TLX Type S manual would sell like hot cakes.
Nice looking car. Whenever I have to bring my MDX for a service/recall, I always drop by the showroom to check out th TLXTS and this ITS. It is so tempting. Someday.
Nice daily driver bro, but im not giving giving up my 2013 Acura Tl base for this 4 banger.. you can't beat the TL's driving comfort, legroom, reliability oh and i have features like rear vents, passenger side, automatic seat adjusters, great sound system oh and she's a straight V6.. Zero turbo lag lol
Exclusive to North America because Honda of Japan could never deal with the embarrassment of it being on the road there. Nice hit piece for Acura. Was the discount worth it? This is not the car anyone wanted or asked for. An embarrassment to the Integra nameplate.
I appreciate your honesty about 21mpg. The resulting short fuel range would be a deal killer for me. I also like your WRX comparison. My 23 WRX averages 25mpg, and up to 29 on the highway. I can drive quite easily with little to zero boost, due to the larger displacement. Oh, and no torque steer because you get AWD. Whichever you choose, enjoy the ride. No looking back.
This video is made for and brought to you by Honda fan boys. It’s a nice car for what it is, but it’s not a super car, it’s not a practical car for most for various reasons, and while I love the 2019/2020 Honda Accord 2.0 Sport manual, it definitely was an economy car not a luxury car - this is an economy car at luxury car prices. Don’t kid yourselves fan boys. Just enjoy it for what it is
I gave up on Michelin for the noise - wonderful tires in other aspects....went to Continentals and they are equal in terms fo grip, better in rain for me, and way, way, way more quiet. Recommended.... If it was only AWD I'd buy one. I know, I know, fwd is plenty especially in this form, but I really am brainwashed for winter use to want awd. Just me. Great video. Super clear, nice balance, and good points on all levels. Really useful and helpful.
Good review. I have over 2,600 miles in the 1.5 months I’ve had mine. I have a 90ish round trip commute. I can’t praise the clutch enough. I have no complaints in the stretches of stop and go traffic. I agree I wish high quality parts here and there and YES it would have been great if there was a bigger gas tank. I average about 21-22MPGs between my commute and city driving over the weekend. I have/noticed interior rattles under hard acceleration/higher RPMs in Sport + does kill the vibe for me. In Comfort it’s not as bad but still present. I get the rattles in the center of the dash and somewhere around the passenger side door/window. The biggest complaint I have is, I feel it’s over priced especially having to pay a 5k mark up.
Rattles emanating from a brand new $50k car is unconscionable, it would drive me bonkers. You can have a stiff chassis and firmly riding suspension and still have the assembly quality and materials to tamp down rattles. I’m six months in a ‘24 Impreza RS - different class car but a firm riding five door hatch with low profile tires - and the chassis is super stiff, buttoned down and silent af. I still am a big fan of the Integra though.
It has driven me nuts and taken away from the driving experience to the point I am in the process of trading it in. I’m sad to let it go but I’m even more sad for the reason of letting it go.
This is an expensive car at slightly more than $50,000 so I would expect a lot from its performance. In this price category there are lots of other very fine vehicles, so choose wisely.
Really nice review. It’s clear that the ‘missings’ you believe the car should have are all beancounter cuts that produce additional income by their absence. It’s surprising they didn’t include those items in this competitive midsize sport segment.
I just paid my 2020 F150 Raptor off & have a built C5Z as a hobby car, I know the manuals are going away, I have 2 kids, & I’m Thinking hard about adding either this or the civic R to the stable As my main DD…
Honda and Acura need to study the German cars and learn how to design a quiet cabin in their cars. They haven't got there yet. I like features of the Type S but don't think it's worth $9K over the Honda type R. The high back on the rear of the car makes my back ache just looking at it... I had enough of that with my Type S RSX. I like the looks, the heavy metal flake paint, the slightly crackly engine and of course the Acura drive train quality. Good and honest review, thanks.
I can't get over the fact that looks like one of the newer honda civic with a body kit, In my area that is PA I have yet to see a brand new one lower than 55k and a used one with a little more than 3k goes for 50k, that is crazy!!

@AutoEnthusedTV like I said be patient. You gotta be blind AF if think the economy ain't gonna crash. It literally happens every 10 years almost. The shit ain't rocket scientist lol. Govt literally does this shit time after time
Economic downturns happen all the time, I agree. But thinking that car values will plummet all of a sudden need not look further than the last two years. Regardless, I'm not here to talk about economics so I appreciate your insight.
I turned down a dealer who wanted 60k out the door. I ended up putting a deposit down on a Elantra N, and I’m so excited and saved nearly 30k
Phenomenal review! Very very thorough especially for day-to-day scenarios. Hats off of to you.
Don’t know if I actually would pull the trigger this time
I ordered in March and got it in mid August - Red Pearl. Took it to The Tail of the Dragon within the first week. It handles a switch back like nobody's business. Sounds so good and goes so fast.
You would've enjoyed the Cherahola Skyway much more...
ok
Awesome videography and cinematography mate! Well used sets and shot profiles.
Great review and filming! Superb quality. Can't wait for mine! (been told about a year or two wait in Canada...)
Thanks! What color did you order? Hope you get yours soon!
@@AutoEnthusedTV Ordered apex blue. I have the same car seat configuration as yours, so had to get out of my 22 brz and into a 22 Civic Si in the mean time while i wait for the Integra.
You just earned a new subscriber. I’ve been waffling back and forth on a few cars including the CTR, GR Corolla, the TYPE-S and a short list of others. The fact this car is 100% American is all I need to hear. We are living in challenging times and I have to support what’s best for the current, and future state of my family. Means more now than ever in my lifetime… TYPE-S all the way now
so a $50k Civic, basically? I just don't see it 😂
I just got a ITS, I agree with most of your comments. I’m installing a civic rear view mirror to add the home link
I still have my 8th gen accord at 271 hp and im happy with it. Not too slow or too fast but the integra will always be a fan favorite in my book
When you're criticizing the door switches & headliner, you know you're really struggling to find something to be critical of.
My first car with a stick also first time driving a stick, 200 miles from dealer to home. Aside from the ghost reminding me they don’t have their seatbelt on in the backseat, really is a great car
Really nice job! Probably the best quality filming and editing I have seen. Seriously, well done. The content is fantastic as well. Thanks for taking the time to share your thougths Im in the market for a type S. Still considering an RS3 or simply just giving BMW the residual buy out on my X5 x40i drive at the end of my lease in 6 months
I appreciate it! I was considering the RS3 too but the Integra suits my personality more.
yeah really like the hatch. Had a Golf R as a second car a few years but that car doesnt do "saturday date night very well" So looking for something sporty but can be a daily. Your road noise comment is a bit concering but to be expected. Can you take a business phone call without having to pull over..lol? Thanks again. Keep the great content coming@@AutoEnthusedTV
Brooo this video is awesome in production quality with the editing and narration. It felt a bit like a documentary, which i enjoy. Keep it going!
Top class quality. Camera, angles, sound and more importantly objective content. Please keep it up.
Top five clown-priced vehicles of 2023:
1. Civic Type-R
2. Acura Integra Type-S
3. Toyota GR Corolla
4. Nissan Z
5. Ford Raptor
You totally forgot about the G-Wagen. And Caymans. And Corvettes. And GT350's. And Supras. And Mavericks. And Civic Si's, etc.
Everything is overpriced now
You will own nothing and be happy. Signed, Your Government
Picked up an ITS for $44k before tax with 10k on it 👍
What a great video your editing is second to none
The old Integra, bro that car was my life during such a memorable period in my life...
damn so jealous of you. My wife forced me to buy a Honda Pilot lol, I got 3 little ones@@schmiggidy
I love the new Integra type S!! I owned a 1988 RS integra and a 2000 Integra LS. I would love to own this one, obviously.
Just saw one of these today. Man, those rear over fenders are literally tacked on. They weren't even flush with the body of the car. The rear over fender had a gap between it and the body. WILD to see on a Type S with 300 miles.
I would put type R seats in this. But I would also take it to the track
I have a stock ‘95 integra and 2020 Si
And I love how the Si is better in every way but the Integra it just feels more raw and natural. I love driving the integra to redline. In the Si I’m scared to redline.
i really like this car, but the cost is too high (never-mind what dealers are still doing).
That front bumper with those black intakes have me drooling!
This is what other people don’t look at. When your a father and a carguy you would understand.
I have an Civic FD and i kinda like the tyres sound it feels more sporty to me 😂
Was very close of going with a ITS but ultimately went with the CTR last month.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
CT4V Blackwing is the only car I cross-shopped that had a microsuede headliner as an option. M340i, RS3, IS350/500, RS5/S5, TLX Type S, all didn’t have that. RS3 has much more piano black trimming.
love my CT4 BW! what you end up getting?
@@GeronimoBigglesIntegra. Waited over a year on the RS3 and told maybe 2025. Caddy dealers were either perpetually sitting on autos and not budging on price (gad two cars for 10+ months) or selling manuals at big markups. Can’t stand the new screen system on the BMW. RS5 s my favorite looking but decided there’s better use of the money for other things in life and Integra dimensionally and style-wise is close.
I think microsuede headliners should be a thing for luxury/premium/sports cars.
Honestly, the alcantra patches in my TLX-Type S are one of the only thing I would change.
You know that's going to be a problem.
I’m a long ways away from being able to get one of these but I can’t stop looking into them. Mx 5 seems more like something I could safely afford by next summer
Beautifully shot video.
I know what I will say might be controversial to some, but i really wish they made it AWD automatic.
I will be trading m435 for the tlx type S, but the integra looks better in my opinion, more my type.
This car is amazing for what it is. It just is.
Thanks for sharing. Great to see Honda (Acura) made another type S model. It brings back so much memories when I wish i had a civic type R back in the days.
Oops speak too much this is a Honda made vehicle. Nevertheless, great review
That would be amazing.
I love my 24 Integra aspec with tech. I haven’t loved a car this much since my 05 TL.
God damn that looks incredible, almost tempts me to try fwd
I genuinely don’t even wish it was RWD. It’s got its own character.
@@AutoEnthusedTV yeah totally, im sure it does. I just cant justify fwd where I live (which sucks)
Thanks! The TL is a great daily driver
Nice shots bro I see all the angles that I cannot see in other review. Looks amazing
I agree on the fuel tank. It needs a bigger tank
I think if the BMW engineers of the 1960s and 1970s remade the old model 2002 Tii today, it would be much like this. No higher praise is possible.
Great review! Test driving one tomorrow. Thanks.
Your review hit me right in the feels... Thanks, Man! I love this car 🙂👍❣
Just enjoy it for what it is
It’s ok if you didn’t watch the video.
Thanks for sharing your ownership experience. I am very interested in acquiring one. I will be following you from now on.
I own one as well, and I think your review is spot on. What a great car. Powered passenger seat, as you said... come on!
What an awesome video. Great job.
Great job. Quality video
Nice editting. Lets all thank Honda for still giving us a 6sp. Curious on what u think of lack of rear wiper esp in rain.
It would’ve been awesome if they would’ve made an AWD package.
Never felt that I need it on mine
I gave up on Michelin for the noise - wonderful tires in other aspects....went to Continentals and they are equal in terms fo grip, better in rain for me, and way, way, way more quiet. Recommended....
If it was only AWD I'd buy one. I know, I know, fwd is plenty especially in this form, but I really am brainwashed for winter use to want awd. Just me. Great video. Super clear, nice balance, and good points on all levels. Really useful and helpful.
Which tires,?
24, TLX Type-S ✊
I'm in the Pacific Northwest and went with a WRX a month ago for that reason. Awesome so far.
THIS was a GOOD review! Thanks, really needed it.
Thank you! 😊🙏🏼🙏🏼
That was a great honest car review. Great video and commentary ... worth a "Subscribe".
Being pro American worker aside, I think made in Japan quality far surpasses that of any other country.
How do you not have more subscribers? Amazing video!
This is an expensive car at slightly more than $50,000 so I would expect a lot from its performance. In this price category there are lots of other very fine vehicles, so choose wisely.
I think the 2023 Integra is a home run.
Well done. Informative and engaging.
I have an integra, it's my favorite car I've ever owned.
Great review! Great photography!
I should get this for my daily driver.
9:55. That intersection is right next to the High school I went to. Pretty cool to see
Really nice review. It’s clear that the ‘missings’ you believe the car should have are all beancounter cuts that produce additional income by their absence. It’s surprising they didn’t include those items in this competitive midsize sport segment.
Car is definitely a looker. Nice review.
Great video. Very informative!
Beautiful car and excellent review!
Love mine... though also love my MX-5... two different awesome machines for enthusiasts.
Awesome video!! I need that Amazon cubby tray in my life. LCM looks so good and stealthy. Enjoy it in good health 🍻
Thank you, my man! I love your wheel setup. Seriously considering it!
I just paid my 2020 F150 Raptor off & have a built C5Z as a hobby car, I know the manuals are going away, I have 2 kids, & I’m
Thinking hard about adding either this or the civic R to the stable
As my main DD…
I look at one at a dealership, an its a really nice car, but the dealership markup on that car was 60k😢
Great Review especially on the little things.
Great review, I love this car.
