    This was the video we all wanted but didnt know we needed.
    The TLX does alot to tick all the right boxes for a family man whose wife might not want him to get a manual for the family car, but still have power and looks to die for.
    While the Integra has both the cult folllwing, the looks to back it up, the fun factor, and the four seats to make it the perfect combo for any enthusiast with a family, who'd be excited to learn about the forgotten art of driving manual.

      In what world can a regular family man afford a $60,000+ fwd 4-cylinder Honda? The Average Family with both parents working makes under $100k per year... I dont know many people where a $1500 monthly car payment with insurance is a smart financial decision unless you are part of the top 10% wealthy people in the country...

      @@JonHop1 A lot of us can. I'm a regular dad with 2 kids and considered the TLX Type S (I ultimately decided on getting a BMW M340i due to more rear seat/legroom, bigger trunk and significantly better performance). It's taken me 42 years to get to this point in life where I can shop for $60~70K cars so I completely sympathize for the younger dad's in their 20's early in their careers. This most likely is not the car segment they are shopping in. My first 4 door "family" car was an old 90's Volvo sedan with the turbo 5 cylinder motor. I paid $7k for it and it was fun, practical, made an incredible exhaust note and I was able to pay it off relatively quickly.
      Also, most people trade in their old car or put down a down payment so they're not realistically walking in empty handed and signing a loan for those $1k+ payments.

    • @JonHop1
      @JonHop1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FastRedPonyCar Bud, no offense, but a $1,500 car payment each month, if you have a family, is an incredibly poor financial decision... If you were considering a TYpe S and got an M340i, that means you are either not too smart in your spending, or you are NOT a normal family man. If you make more than $75,000 as a household, you are NOT NORMAL.. Making even $90,000 a year as a household, is considered top 20% in the entire country... Let that sink in...

    Integra looks far more spacious in the back seat. How did Honda manage to cramp the leg room in TLX despite being bigger than Integra. What a waste of space.

  • @FastRedPonyCar
    @FastRedPonyCar ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Honda goofed by not offering an automatic transmission in the Teg. Not all of us who want a comfortable mid size semi-luxury sports sedan want to be riding the clutch in city traffic.
    I think an automatic transmission and SH AWD in the Integra would be an ideal setup but that would eat up the TLX buyers so, for now, in that $50k price bracket, you're not going to be looking at the Integra but rather the Audi S4/S5, BMW M240i or a used M2, Genesis G70, maybe a Kia Stinger or possibly save a few bucks and go with a Golf R but those are a noticeable step down in overall interior quality/fit/finish/materials than the BMW/Audi.
    It's a tough spot for Acura. FWD and manual transmission makes sense for the CTR but the buyer going to the Acura dealership, I feel, is not quite the same buyer.

    That cool "fabric/felt" the battery is wrapped in... is insulating the battery from both heat and cold. Batteries wear out faster when they experience temperature swings; like in winter, they go from cold cold cold, to as warm as the engine, then back to cold cold cold, sometimes every day, for months. Also, amperage is reduced as battery temperature drops, which is why batteries are labeled with quantity of "cold cranking amps" - which is a guaranteed amperage at roughly -15ºF to -20ºF for most.

      Good question. I’d say the drivers seat on the ITS has a slight edge due to the cloth fabric in my opinion. The TLX seat is probably more supportive over a long road-trip

    This is my biggest problem coming to these cars rn. I’m coming from a beautiful v6 15 accord Coupe and I can’t find another like it. If I get to this price point I might as well get a Tesla bc of the amount of miles I drive and the gas savings, +tax incentives make it way cheaper even if I went for the Model 3 performance. No it’s not manual, no real sounds and ima miss the v6, but if I went with this I’m paying the same or more…how much would it cost to supercharge a ‘15 accord again? Ugh

    If the Integra tS had an automatic tranny, those models would have remote engine start.
    Since it's available with only a 6MT, and since America forbids factory remote start on manual trannys, guess we're just going to have to think 5 minutes ahead in the winter and put shoes on and go start it the old fashioned way. And that's fine.

    The TLX fits it’s segment better…the ITS is overpriced, under powered, wrong wheel drive, and lacks some very basic creature comforts for a car in that price range. And that’s before markups.
    I owned an Integra and an RSX. I currently own an FK8. But I’m not a fanboi, the Integra is for fanbois. As a car enthusiast, there are just too many options at that price range. You can have AWD, 400hp, and a myriad of real luxury features for 60k…
