Rm is our leader and a true poet… lyricist… his love of hip hop is so entrained into his music but his intelligent lyricism really is such a stand out. He’s got some of the most interesting songs on his most recent solo album and he loves indie vibes as well and working with indie artists… he’s really into art like galleries and paintings.. he’s an actual genius with an iq of 148 which is nuts lol his album indigo is breaking records and charting with some powerhouse artists… you will not be disappointed in any of their solo work on top of their artistry as a group!!!! They’re really the best of the best !!!! Excited for you !!!

Me too: zero interest in rapping and the topics of drugs, violence, etc. But BTS is pure poetry and rather deep, with some musical/ singing rap: it is very nice and I have come to review my opinion of rap.

22:51 Yes. The conflict is with yourself. If you have to pretend to be who you’re not in a relationship then that relationship isn’t really with *you* so it’s already a dead end. You’re letting yourself down when you allow yourself to betray your inner self in order to please someone else and/or “earn” their love. Eventually your inner pain will become obvious and cause resentment & conflict in the relationship anyway. You have to remain true to yourself for the love you give and receive to be real. It’s a hard message to come to terms with but a very important one. The entire album is eye-opening.

The way you describe Jimin's voice here 15:15 is soo accurate. We ARMYs (fandom name) always describes his voice as dreamy or angelic. Btw they also have a japanese album and songs; just wanted to recommend cause all of their japanese songs really hits different for me too, some of it: Film Out MV and Your Eyes Tell. Both are OSTs from japanese movies; Your Eyes Tell doesn't have an MV btw you can just react to the live performance or the lyric video. Really love this reaction 💜

Fun fact: in the Fake Love MV. The place where V was standing around a bunch on phones and iPads on the walls flashing lights , behind him on the window/mirror it says Save Me but if you flip it, it says I’m Fine. Which both are BTS songs. Save Me has an MV but I’m Fine doesn’t. I HIGHLY recommend watching a live performance where they perform them back to back with English subtitles!!

In my opinion, to understand the message behind fake love, notice they’re dancing like puppets on a string, and realize the love they’re talking about it the love between fans and the artist.
There is 4 vocalist in bts, jungkook, the youngest member, jin the eldest member, jimin and taehyung, all of them have such a unique voice and different styles. Then there is the rap line, which is composed of 3 members namjoon the leader, suga and j-hope, and every member of them have diff styles of rap which is rlly intersting. a lot of kpop you've already seen will probably remind you of bts in some way because bts were the trendsetters for so much of what kpop is nowadays, from the visuals, to popular themes in lyrics and music, to the type of content groups release, to the general concepts and storylines groups do. that's one of the many reasons you will hear fans and people familiar with them use the phrase "bts paved the way" a lot.

Jimin is the angelic voice and V is the deeper baritone you liked. I really love the diversity in all their voices. It brings so much vibrancy to their songs.

okay i haven’t watched the fake love mv in a hot minute but watching your first reaction to it had me smiling ear to ear bc i remember watching this when it first dropped and being absolutely mesmerized. it holds a very very specific memory for me, bittersweet but still a good memory and watching you watch it with fresh eyes gave me such a feeling of nostalgia. they are such amazing performers and actors and that really shows in this, truly a masterpiece.

Dynamite ...You may indeed have heard this song on the radio. BTS songs get hardly any to no radio plays, because unlike other companies Bog Hit will not pay stations/DJs to feature their work.
Dynamite is one of 3 BTS songs produced during the Covid lockdown to cheer people up and presented wholly in English. It is unrelentingly happy for a reason - people needed a reason to smile and laugh, and, actually, so did BTS, because they were devastated by the need to cancel the Map of the Soul 7 world tour.
It's tone may differ slightly from other BTS songs, but actually not that much. You may think BTS songs are all 'serious' because they usually have a deep meaning and often deal with topics that can be hard. However, they are (almost) always upbeat in tone, and in fact always leave a positive message.
Fake Love. The message of this song is actually rather raw, but you can see how, even with the deep and difficult imagery, the tone of the song is still upbeat. TS are themselves involved in writing and producing all their own songs so they almost always are personal. You did well with your interpretation: this song is about the pain of a life where you distort your true self to make someone else happy. You may still genuinely love the other, but you lose yourself in the process. It is part of the 'love Yourself' message that underpins much of BTS' work and which remains part of their philosophy to this day.
BTS MVs are almost always shorter than the clock tells you! And invariably very creative and original.
I approve of your preference for Fake Love over Dynamite. I love Dynamite now, but on its release I hated it!
Storyline - this MV is part of the story that runs through many of the Mvs - known as Bangtan Universe/BU it is a complex story involving multiple concurrent time lines and time travel to change the outcomes of events.
Mic Drop : BTS were originally planned to be a hip hop band, but that changed before debut, during training. RM and Suga were devastated, and nearly left (several other trainees did leave). RM and Suga were repeatedly abused in public to their faces by underground peers for 'betraying hip hop', They said nothing - but this was one of their responses. And it is savage. The worst of their 'friends' who turned on them later apologised more than once, but was ignored. He later went to prison for assault, but I think he is out now - and still abusing BTS for clout
BTS were real underdogs since before debut (Jun 2013) and continue to receive put downs, disrespect and abuse, even though they are now incredibly successful. All of their songs are personal and thoughtful but perhaps their rap songs are the most direct in their message.
BTS is a very Korean group, using wordplay (often interplaying between Korean and English) as well as cultural elements. I love this, but sometimes you do need to know either the background/ history, or for example the metaphors. In Korea a wealthy or respected family would be known as a Silver or Golden Spoon, but ordinary or poor people who struggle to make a living are denigrated as Shitty Spoon, and very often are bullied and abused. The metaphor actually carries much more meaning and imagery in Korean culture than we can pick up in the west.
There are many fan-made 'Explanation' videos about various BTS' songs, including Mic Drop and I thnk about Fake Love (if I remember right)
I love how Korean rap is so much more varied and meaningful than Western rap.

About Fake Love actually yeah it have a story line but not only this MV but an ongoing story with tru more MVs. They had a longer storyline thru their songs in those years like the song Blood Sweat & Tears, and some others, even their solos in the album. That is our Queen "Spring Day". But you probably should watch Italian Army's "what you still don't know about BTS spring day" to understand why.
Dynamite was a gift for Army to remind us that life is fun as Covid kinda wrecked all our lifes. There are quiet a few Army that didn't like it as it was considered "too Western" (which is kinda dumb) and BTS had little to do with the creation of the song which is atypical but - considering their plans at that time - very understandable. It had the Billboard Hot 100 on Number 1 - for three weeks. Very much a song of the summer vibe - it's also Grammy nominated and was presented there. (Butter managed 10 weeks at Number 1 - with a pause for their own song Permission to Dance to get to Number 1 before taking it back)
Fake Love is a bit different:
Because outside the lyrics of the song itself there are two storylines it connects to.
There is the BU (= Bangtan Universe) that officially starts with I need U and consist in meta space with different mediums like MVs, Short Films, books, a webtoon "Save Me", a mobile game and we are getting a K-Drama. In it the water falling, the fire, the snicker bars and the telephones represent trauma. But there is a lot more to it.
The second is part of the "Love yourself"-albums.
LY: Her began with the Intro: Serendibity went over the main title DNA and had the Outro: Her. LY: Tear began with the intro: Singularity and the main song was Fake Love. The Outro: Tears leads to the next album LY: Answer were we get Epiphany and Idol. The story is of falling in love, a seemingly perfect love/relationship we try to be perfect for to the point of self-denial. The last part is what eventually hurts so much that we go in Fake Love from "I don't know why" to "I just know why". The other person never got the cance to meet the real self of the narrator and that breaks apart the relationship built on a lie of self. You have to love your imperfect self first before you love others (Epiphany). It works with all kind of relationships: family, friends, coworkers & partners.
BTW: We have video from behind the scenes; the video filiming - a Bangtan Bomb I think.
In Korea we have strong hirachial structures. So they speak of "spoon theory" and BTS were/are kinda considered "dirt spoons" - which means that people are even offended that they succeeded especially over "gold spoon" artists. Which is also part of the song theme. So yes, the song has depth in lyrics and the MV but you have to really know them to understand it. (BTW: the explosion is real)

You had such well designed first reaction video structure that it was a pleasure to watch throughout it all: 2nd listens to digest song better, not a lot of pausing, going back to bring back the vibe of the song, well done commentary with emphasis on many different things - voices, lyrics, rap cadence, dance, vibe, even clothes, MV shots, angles, sceneries... All those little things you catched on made it so enjoyable. And BIG PROPS to you for noticing how they constantly have fun no matter what type of song they do, what dance and what lyrics. Some info now, 'cause you're probably waiting for armies to come here and share some details and commentary. 😁
1. The voice you like so much (the high one) belongs to Jimin (Park Jimin). He is known for having that high, distinct, beautiful voice that bewilders many regardless of age, gender, beliefs, backgrounds and so on lol. He's a singer but primarly a dancer (with background of contemporary and hip-hop dancing).
2. As you've noticed they all have such different voices. It's one of the things that makes BTS' music so enjoyable - you never get bored listening to their songs. Even in the songs that were groomed in the studio when they try to make song sound consistent you can still clearly distinct who is singing/rapping. It's great.
3. The guy with the outfit you like so much is Jungkook/JK (Jeon Jungkook). I have an inkling that you're gonna like his "drip"/style very much. He's very cool. 😄
4. BTS consists of 4 vocalists and 3 rappers.

1. RM / Kim Namjoon - leader, born in 1994, rapper, songwriter, producer. He's not the oldest but he is the leader, we call him a born leader. He was first to join BTS. Very intelligent, eloquent, a poet, high IQ, very kind, humble, stoic. Often in charge of interviews, speeches. He's the one that writes the most of BTS' lyrics and songs and he established BTS' messages that they send across the world. Our president.
2. Jin / Kim Seokjin - born in 1992, vocalist, visual. The oldest hyung. He helps RM keep the team under control from the shadows. He makes a lot of dad jokes and is goofy in general (they are all super goofy and chaotic), often silly but he's very calm, quiet and introspective when by himself. Handsome. Worldwide handsome. He's a bit complicated to describe but I relate to him a lot. Silver voice.
3. SUGA / Min Yoongi - born in 1993, rapper, producer, songwriter. He's known for his love for music. It's his work and hobby lmao. He writes and produces BTS' songs but he also produces and features for different artists. He's very calm, quiet, cool. Often comes off as cold but he's very kind and caring. Together with RM he used to be an underground rapper and got a lot of hate for becoming an idol. They proved that they are either rappers nor idols, they are artists and human beings.
4. j-hope / Jung Hoseok - born in 1994, dance leader, rapper, vocalist, songwriter, producer. He's kind of a "can-do-it-all". He loves dancing and it influences his rapping style and musical taste a lot. He's another type of "leader", he's in charge of making BTS' choreos and stages reach perfection. He's very caring, kinda the mother of the group, mood-maker. He laughs a lot and has bright personality so we call him our "hope". He often becomes bridge between hyung line and maknae line. Insane stage presence. Very professional.
5. Jimin / Park Jimin - born in 1995, dancer, vocalist. He was mainly a dancer, with background in contemporary dance. His dancing is captivating and beautiful alongside his amazing, high, delicate and powerful voice. He's a cutie of a group, in charge of aegyo (but they all kinda are). He's also very beautiful, tearing down beauty standards for males and females. Perfecionist, hard-working (they all are of course), kind, caring. He's a hyung of maknae line, taking charge when there are no older members. First to be seen cheering up the members. If j-hope has insane stage presence then Jimin has illegal stage presence. He's known for this insane gap between his cute off-stage self and deadly sexy on-stage self.
6. V / Kim Teahyung - born in 1995, vocalist, visual. Very unique - in terms of personality and voice and musical taste. Has a soulful voice, baritone. Loves jazz music, kinda soft and tender vibes like R&B, lo-fi. He used to learn how to play saxophone, trumpet. And "old-soul". Known for his captivating visual expressions. His way of thinking is also unique, often surprises the other members but is also cute.
7. Jungkook / Jeon Jungkook - born in 1997, main vocalist, dancer, rapper in older songs. Maknae. He uses his maknae card only when it's for his benefit lol. Has a cool, aloof vibe. Has many different interests like playing instruments (guitar, drums), excersising (boxing, martial arts), photography, video making (Golden Closet Films) and many more. He's a genius and very quick to learn basically anything although he hates studying. Golden maknae. Perfect idol.

Probably you heard Dynamite because it was #1 for many weeks including hot 100. They have so many top songs I can't remember the weeks. Fake Love is about trying to change yourself so much, so that another person will love you, until you've nearly lost yourself completely. Many of the scenes are from a story line that runs through their work and albums. Taylor's Guide to BTS Members is really good. Loved this reaction. Hope you do more. Yes v and jimin both have such different voices. They all have a unique charm to them and depending on the song you get to really hear it. You should listen to the original version of mic drop. Very good. Kind of more of a dirtier (?) Feel i think. Also their rap is something else. Its so easy and likeable but i feel is unique to themselves. I dont really know of any bad songs from them. They have such different sounds throughout the years. Welcome to the world of BTS ARMY‼️We have never been the same and the expectations on quality of music just went up a few levels. All seven of the members are insanely talented. They have no weakness together‼️The rappers are just mind blowing. They spit fire and are so beyond anything I have ever heard. The vocal line are extremely amazing to hear. They can really sing. They all can compose music, write lyrics, and perform. They are the real big deal‼️That is why they are the biggest “boy band “ in the world. You should really look into their journey to being the mega super stars that they are. It did not come easy but together they overcame their struggles.
