That's a calico cat. In his song SERENDIPITY, Jimin described himself as a calico cat. The significance of this calico cat is that
they are almost exclusively female due to the makeup of genetics in the cat. A rare genetic condition will produce a male calico cat. "Only 1 in 3000 calicos that are born are male. This means that it is rare to have a male calico cat which also means that Jimin is a rare person. If you have not yet reacted to SERENDIPITY, I highly recommend that you react to SERENDIPITY MV and live performance. Trust me, it's so beautiful. Jimin is a marvelous performer. Jimin doesn't settle for the same kind of genre. He love to experiment when it comes to his music and artistry. His first solo album FACE is a masterpiece. SET ME FREE PT2 and LIKE CRAZY are included in this album. He created his first album because he wanted to express how he felt during the pandemic. He suffered from depression, anxiety, toxicity and the uncertainty of his career. But you will understand it better if you react to the whole album because Jimin created a sequence of story through his album. Also please react to LIE and FILTER live. You will see that his music are totally different from each other. Thanks a lot.

I wasn't a big fan of this sound when i first heard SMF2 (i prefer acoustic songs) but after i heard SMF2 within the context of Jimins album i loved it.

@@lisnaenihartanti3905Airplane Pt. 2 is more closely related to the first song. Its production was started when one of BTS producers heard Hobi's Airplane and it shares both topic and some important bars/lines. The "Set Me Free" songs are a bit more loosely related by topic (Jimin's tells about the need for freedom and Yoongi's is more about what comes before / causes that need) and the initial plan was for a "ft Suga" but as the song was personal, then it was decided it was better if only Jimin took part of it

❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! (As opposed to certain other members. No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Jimin’s other songs “Face-Off”, “Alone”, as well as hidden track “Letter” are all equally amazing! Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. Now the spotlight will be just on him! Though we’ve seen Jimin’s amazingly spectacular, so mesmerizingly outstanding solo performances before. But now, as Jimin himself, mentioned, he’ll indeed be showing the depth of his raw inner self! Jimin has also said that with all the members now exploring & expressing their own individual talent , it will just make BTS that much stronger when they come back together as a group! In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white.

It's not no 9, it's Fibonacci spiral which means "The spiral is a symbol for big concepts like evolution, life, consciousness, creation and more."
Tattoo on his body is a poem by an Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke written in Ghotic font
Lyrics of every Jimin's song are very important bcs there is always a deeper meaning in every of them
I suggest you to watch Jimin's song Lie, lyric first then a live performance (classical and jazz musicitans were exited by this song),
Then his songs Serendipity and Filter (live performances 😊)
And last but not least, his solo album Face is the best ...in album he is also credited for lyrics, production and choreography
    Enjoy 👍

Loved all your reactions! In SMF pt2, the stage set is a panopticon, which is a type of prison setup that goes back to the 18th century, where 1 guard in the center can see all prisoners at once, and also all the prisoners can watch each other. The idea is that a prisoner never knows if he's being watched and by who, so is never fully comfortable and always on better behavior than if they knew no one was watching. The panopticon has gone on to become a representation for society in general. All of this is applicable to Jimin's life as a celebrity in general, as well as the feelings and struggles he's trying to overcome with the song's message.

Also, Jimin has performed both Set Me Free PT2 and Like Crazy live (LC has a choreo). Both songs also have dance practices which, increadibly, are just as good if not better than the MVs.

♦Jimin mentioned that one of his fav movies “Like Crazy” he watched during pandemic, inspired parts of the song aside from the title of song. In the beginning as well as ending to the song, he even uses excerpt wordings, with voice over actors using dialogue more in tune with song, from it. Jimin has also said that many of the songs on the album convey what he was going through, his thoughts, his feelings, his emotions as well as despair & depression, during the pandemic in the last few yrs. He also was hoping that maybe it could help others by way of relating & going through similar difficulties during pandemic. So this song Like Crazy, could also be during that time, thinking back while laying his head down, on table in that depressing small room, dreaming of the better times in the past, when he was free to enjoy himself, as well as being with someone or with friends, or even around ppl in general, being able to be free to go out & party. Which is why he even said in the lyrics please don’t wake me up from this dream. I want to stay here.. Maybe, since dirt or mud means despair, that was what all the dirty grimyness including on his hands in the end, also represented, despair of situation, how he felt or how things were at that time, even when it seemed to even ooze into his dream state.

He said he is like that, he jokes a lot about referring to himself as a calico cat since it ties into his infamous Serendipity ❤. I think you would love that mv and the live performance is magical 😊. Also, animals, babies, just living things in general are drawn to him, he has a very pure aura ❤

Really enjoyed your reaction! SMFP2 shocked us all, I loved that. Jimin doesn’t have many solo pieces but what he has are high quality top tier - he’s about quality not quantity, which I prefer. He wrote lyrics and composed the music for almost all of his solo songs including ones under the BTS name, he has also had a hand in the production of many of them, and they express his thoughts and emotions. Plus, he is deeply involved in the choreo as well. On SMFP2, that part you didn’t like, I think he was expressing the different voices in his head that he was fighting with in his album FACE. I think he wanted it to be harsh and jarring as part of the story the song was telling. It wasn’t about having his beautiful vocals, it was about telling the story. As he said about his debut album (FACE), if people understood the emotions he was trying to express, he would consider it successful. The whole album was very experimental, with the exception of the hidden track Letter (aka Dear ARMY), which was a beautiful letter he wrote, composed, and even played the guitar on, for the fans after the dinner that broke us all.
Closer Than This: Heartfelt love with a warm hug
    SMFP2: Masterpiece of performance art
LC: Deep story hidden inside liquid gold vocals
    Adding a few more comments:
    - Jimin took massive risks with his FACE album. As I said, it’s pretty experimental from start to finish. He took a ridiculous amount of hate for SMFP2, not only from the toxic parts of the fandom (taekookers) but also from a lot of ARMY because it wasn’t what they expected from him and didn’t contain the pretty vocals they were used to. He was very courageous and brave to do that song the way that he did with all the electronic modulations that he used because he prioritized telling the story and getting the emotions across over making pretty songs that get lots of play on the radio because they sound good but have no meaning or depth behind them. It cemented him as one of the best musical artists in the world in my opinion.
    - He wanted to portray the emotional journey he went on during the pandemic with FACE. We went back to the days of telling a story across a whole album, which I miss. He didn’t prioritize getting awards and streams, which again takes guts these days and is actually something that BTS does and some of the other solo albums did as well - particularly Yoongi’s D-Day album which is the 3rd in a trilogy. FACE songs are a chronicle over time, from the first song Face-Off thru SMFp2. For me, Alone is my fav on the album because it expresses exactly where I was at during the pandemic. I cried during the first couple of listens because it brought it back in a visceral way. SMFp2 was about him getting through that period and coming out stronger on the other side. And yes, it is an anthem because it is about overcoming and coming out the other side a bit bruised but winning.

The use of auto tune was used to show the conflict in him, the anger the darkness within his mind. The auto tune enhenced the feeling of the hard lyric's. I don't like a lot of auto tune but when it's showing a part of a fight, or 2 different sides of a conversation like here it works really well. It's for artistic purpose to help tell his story, it's not used to cover up a bad singer's voice. The 'concept' is NOT abstract at all it's his own real life story. His own state of mind what he was going through in Covid. The battle of his mind.

      @MarinaEariel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

He was talking about the concept of the music video and he's right, because using *just* choreography, changes in outfit and lighting and a panopticon as sole location to convey inner struggle *is* abstraction

@@MarinaEariel The staging, colours and dance move all convey the lyric they mind state that Jimin was going through at that time. It's tells his story in lyric, and dance like a ballet tells a story in music and dance. However this is a real life story Jimin's story. Therefore every move very angle of the camera even the scenery tells a real story it's not a made up concept.

@@eileencritchley4630 I feel you're using here a very limited "concept" of what "concept" means (pun intended 🤣😂🤣😂). I would call the Set Me Free video a good example of conceptual art, and abstraction is a key in that type of art. And FACE as whole can be called "concept album" even if the story in it is real, because the album takes a bigger meaning if listened (and translation of the lyrics read, if needed) all together

Thank you for this lovely reaction to Jimin"s latest songs. Jimin is a master performer, his voice is exquisite. You are astutely attentive and have caught on to his ad libs. Jimin does the most amazing and beautiful ad libs, backing in all his own solo songs and also BTS's group songs.
You are right that for Set Me Free Pt 2, there is a much deeper meaning. Jimin is a very deep thinker next to RM in the group, he is always trying to convey deep messages in all his songs. He makes beautifully composed, thoughtful songs and music. He has diverse taste and strengths, which is showcased in all his solo work. Set Me Free Pt 2, is an anthem for his breakout from the depression that he went through during the pandemic. The uncertainties after the cancellation of their world tour. He fights back to those who constantly mock him and his sense of self doubt. Set Me Free Pt 2 showcases all his diverse vocal tones, in the high, mid and lower register, including rapping and his beautiful ad libs.
The choreography, depicts three points, based on the Jungian Philosophical concept of the Map of the human psyche, soul, spiritual angst and personal myth. The Formation that looks like the number six, is a reference to the Primodial circle of life, which is the journey into life and the beginning of all forms of life. The concept of individuation that looks back into the path of one's life, and if one achieves wholeness and become what one is meant to be. The journey should not be linear but in circles where one's purposes change through age and experiences. This is referenced by Jimin, if you look into the metaphor presented by the poet and author Ranier Maria Rilke in his; Book Of Hours; Love Poems To God. That is the Poem in German that we all see that was "tattooed" on Jimin's chest, it is about living life in a circle around an axis, circling around the primodial tower, to constantly renew and going in a maze of circles of life as changes take place. The blue and greys and the cubic cell designs in the background of the MV's set depicts a Panopticon Prison, where you are constantly under watch without knowing and connected to the central tower, cut away from all contact. At one point of the choreography you will see the dancers pointing at him and mocking him... Thus "FF all your Ops!" his response and the final being set free from the trapped feelings and depression. The Autotune represents the voices in his head, " enemy , enemy" ... the arguments he has with himself in his rationalizing of his situation and the final breakout being free from his dark struggles. The man can definitely sing and belt it out, so the auto tune is on purpose to artistically portray his message. Jimin is a generational talent, a one in a million kind! So beautiful, magnificent and artsy to behold!

You asked about the cats. In his song Serendipity (there was a clip of him performing it), there is a reference to a Calico Cat in the lyrics. "I’m your calico cat that came to meet you" Also, enlistment is 18 months, and alternative service for SUGA is 21 months. It's more of an office job for him, because of his shoulder injury.
JIMIN's Set Me Free Pt. 2 - The auto-tune was JIMIN's choice to use, in order to represent his shadow self, the anger and frustrations, so that it would stand out. It was used artistically. And only in those parts that showed his anger. He otherwise did not use auto tune. Also, his reference to SUGA's song Set Me Free, doesn't have a direct connection, but it talks about the same topic. He wanted his song to be a continuation, because while SUGA talked about wanting to be set free, JIMIN followed it through and was set free. That's the reference. He talked about it in the behind the scenes, and in an interview.

😍🐥That was producer Pdogg’s house shown, where Jimin also wrote most of the lyrics, composed melodies, & helped produce all his songs, worked alongside Pdogg, (legendary in-house BigHit genius producer, along with a couple of other producers, GHSTLOOP & Evan for his whole FACE album! As Jimin FACE album production diary documentary showed, and now as well here, for this song that shows he apparently worked on also at producer Pdogg’s house, Jimin wrote the lyrics, composed most of the melodies, as well as was thoroughly involved in production for all songs! The first song on the album, a must to hear, ❣️“Face-Off”, absolute fire! As well as the song ❣️“Alone”, so deep, beautiful, & emotional, comes right after ❣️“Like Crazy”, which has a full English version as well, also a ‘hidden’ song❣️ “Letter” (which Jimin wrote as a thank you to army), which can only be found on the physical album! But there is posted on YT a lyric vid for that as well. Last song spectacular ❣️“Set Me Free Pt.2”. The whole album, as Jimin has mentioned, is what he was trying to convey, pouring his heart out, his very essence, to show what he was going through, during pandemic, his emotions, thoughts, loneliness, despair, depression, that he hoped to share & have many able to relate to! Plus his voice is so beyond heavenly, stunningly beautiful, so eloquent, his ability to convey his feelings, emotions, what the lyrics are trying to say, his approach, the various tones that resonate, making you feel that much more what he’s feeling. What a phenomenal artist he is!
Jimin worked alongside BigHit legendary genius producer, as well as a couple of other producers, who also worked BTS on many of BTS songs in the past! Jimin & the others worked non stop to the point where Jimin even mentioned he pretty much lived at Pdogg’s house for 10 months, where there’s a production studio where they all worked, apparently Jimin’s new release, was also created there! It’s yet another equally so beautiful, sincere song meant as a gift for army, while they’re all away temporarily in the military.❣️“Closer than This” also created there as well as who knows what other songs Jimin was also working on when album was released, & afterwards. Looking forward to even more content! 👍❤‍🔥🐥😍🔥🔥

🔗Interesting Info: ❣Yeon Eum Boys and Girls Choir gave enchanting harmony along with Jimin, truly captivating, especially in the latter part of the song. Jimin's charming vocals blend seamlessly with the pure vocals of the Yeon Eum Boys and Girls Choir, resulting in a beautiful and memorable performance.
Also, aside from Jimin writing all the lyrics to this song, he also is credited with composing the melody! Jimin also, pretty much hand picked the clips & photos chosen that were shown. There were so many occasions that Jimin made a point of telling army afterwards, about how special those particular times were, so meaningful & meant so much to him! I also believe that some of the drawings, sketches seen in the MV for “Closer than This”, were also Jimin’s! It definitely looked like his style. Though for some reason, it’s not known as much in the fandom, Jimin is quite impressive in his artwork, as seen in some rare times during run episodes & or behind the scenes..Jimin excelled not only in art class but Jimin also took calligraphy, which shows in the way he writes as well! Throughout the yrs, there is so much of Jimin’s input, talent & artistry that’s sadly not shown or acknowledged. ❤‍🔥🙏🐥😇😍🔥🔥

His whole album was inspired by the days of isolation during Covid 19. Like Crazy is inspired alo by the movie with the same name Like Crazy. Set me free pt2 was the last song of the album it means that now he's free and can do concerts and meet ARMYs. That autotune part is actually represents the inner voice. So he's whole album is very versatile and just amazing. My favorite album. Closer than this was surprise MV for us. It was so emotional.

When i tell you that almost all of BTS' albums (solo or not) should be listened by order; there's no kidding, you definitely should. If it's possible, I would recommend for you to watch this short video analysis of each song on Jimin's FACE album by boracity magazine th-cam.com/video/ucqIVh1X5mY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dsCTDfoyxRYeStSZ Since there's a whole different story going on behind it, not just fictitious scenarios but what they actually feel in the process or actual events, even the interlude in the album is significant, worth listening and mustn't be skipped when ur listening in order. I think it makes you appreciate each specific song even more once you understand. I hope you'll also have the chance to listen to his whole album "FACE" whether if you decided to record or do it on your own free time it doesn't matter.

❣Aside from Jimin writing the lyrics, composing the melody, as well as being involved in producing the song, Jimin was also involved in the production of the “Set Me Free Pt.2” MV. It was his idea to have the set designed like a circular prison. He was also hands on involved with the choreography. It was Jimin’s idea also to go shirtless in second half, with the writing on Jimin’s torso, all his idea, the German words of well known famous 19th century Austrian poet, Widening Circles, Written by Rainer Maria Rilke. Germany (1875 - 1926)which connects in some ways, to Jimin’s song as well as the circle theme Jimin designed for his FACE album cover: ❤‍🔥👍😍🔥🔥
I live my life in widening circles
that reach out across the world.
I may not complete this last one
but I give myself to it.
I circle around God, around the primordial tower.
I’ve been circling for thousands of years
    and I still don’t know: am I a falcon,
a storm, or a great song?

"Set Me Free Pt. 2" is from the song title fitting to Suga/Agust D's song of the same name with a simlar theme. It happened accidently when Jimin needed to name his song and realized that it fits Yoongi/Suga/Agust D's song as a resolution, too.
Jimin is alergic to cats but loves pets. You may have noticed "Serendibity" written also?
Jimin sings the song as an intro to the "Love Yourself"-series of BTS. In the lyrics he kind of calls himself a "calico cat". Because of the genetics involved calico cats are female with the super rare (and expensive) exception - archieved by a gene defect - male.
Rumor has it that Jimin will drop an album this year and so will RM/Namjoon - don't know if that is true but let's hope so.
    (They are all enlisted)
"FACE" is a concept album about what Jimin went through during the pandemic and how he struggled with the isolation/missing live audiences and his "regular" life.
SMFPt.2 is the last song on the album and he sets himself free as he is the only one that can.
The poem is in it's original German - someone else posted the translation already - on his body and the only tattoo you can see on him that is NOT real (the others are).
Rainer Maria Rilke - I live my life in widening circles (originally: Ich lebe mein Leben in wachsenden Ringen)
The "falcon" stands for power and intuition, the "storm" is a representation of change (like a revolution for example but also personal) and the "great song" (I'd think translating it with "hymn" as a better fit) is about almost spiritual cleansing.
It's about finding of identity which you do over your whole life.
    Personally?
Listen to the song a few times and you will stop noticing the autotune. I love this song more than the others honestly.
Here autotune is used for texture and to represent different (inner) voices: Jimin is a fighter and has a rather strong mind.
The visual direction and the whispers in the beginning and at the end of your last chosen MV come from a movie called "Like Crazy" that Jimin interpreted as a break-up movie.
    "Alone again. What's the point?"
This is the main song and a description of how he tried to tell himself he didn't suffer - alcohol played a part (party was obvious out). He is trying to pretend everything is fine when it wasn't.
"Lost in the lights" he can't recognize himself (the girl is also him) looking into the mirror.
The man on Jimin's pants is Robert Mapplethorpe. You should look him up.
    💜

Like crazy and set me free pt 2 are part of his album Face. there is a connection between all the songs because is the story of his feelings during the pandemic. He was feeling so down and drinking all night, he didnt want to be in the reallity and he wants to be free from that feelings. I think is also the reason they use a lot of autotune.. is like nobofy can listen and he is screaming in his head alone

Thanks for reacting to Jimin's solo works, his album "FACE" is a great album/EP. In it he talks about the difficulties he went through during the pandemic. Their title track "Like Crazy" was the first song by a Korean solo artist to debut at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Face contains 4 songs + 1 interlude and an English version of Like Crazy, it also has a hidden track that is on the CD called "letter". In this comment I leave a link to a very good video that can explain even more about the meaning of FACE. Thank you 💛 th-cam.com/video/ucqIVh1X5mY/w-d-xo.html

Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. pause as much as u want pls. I don't mind. The song was actually given to us after his enlistment. The enlistment is 18 months for 6 of the members and 21 months for Suga. He is doing alternative service because of his old shoulder injury. Jin will be back June 12 and Hobi will be back Oct 17 of this year. Hugs tight Gunjou. I am glad i was not the only one feeling like this. This song was sweet. i was crying real fast. From his heart to us. Yes, we hear u Jimin. Love u pal. Stay safe, be healthy and see u in 2025. Love the fit. He looked great in jeans. Aww. What a sweet man. Gosh. My twt moot told me it's old images from 2018 that were used. Also, he was in Brooklyn, NY. Bushwick area. Loved the drawings. This song some army feel too is like a reciprocal of love and answer to our song to them for their 10th anniversary "Love Letters". Sweet thought that. It's a male calico cat representing Jimin from the lyrics of his song Serendipity. A male calico is super rare. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💜
    Are calico cats rare?
Because calico cats are so rare (especially male calico cats) they're considered a good luck charm all over the world.

Ft songs “Face Off”, “Like Crazy”, Alone”, (hidden track only in physical album specifically for army), “Letter”, & “Set Me Free Pt.2”. Jimin worked close to Pdogg, who he’s become quite close with already when creating Jimin’s earlier hit song “Friends” that he ft, V on, (“Friends” was in Marvel the Eternals film), that Jimin also wrote , composed, as well as helped produce previously, along with other songs in the past. Jimin worked so hard, non stop, while creating his FACE album that he pretty much stayed over Pdogg’s house, all of the 10 months it took to create the album, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production Diary documentary! Plus, as shown here, Jimin apparently worked on other songs with his production crew team. This time for “Closer than This” Jimin even had legendary Ayo the Producer, as well, working on it, who even posted, “we’re far from finished”! It looks like there might be more songs eventually being released as well, but this song was a special gift to army from Jimin knowing how much army would be missing the members now all gone to the military. All these photos, & clips shown are all the times & memories Jimin & rest of BTS shared with army who helped them with all their non stop support throughout the yrs, including helping them receive many of their awards! RM has even mentioned several times in his speeches, as well as ea and every member that there would be no BTS without army and all their love & support! 🙏❤‍🔥🥹😢🥰🐥😇
Good reaction(Set Me Free Pt.2), ty. Great MV. Jimin ult here, Suga wrecker OT7. The vocals, wow. The visuals, i had shivers. Powerful for sure. This was 100% new. 0.0 I am like stunned. Shoock really. Go Jimin!!! No one but Anitra @saywhatreacts and Rosan @xCeleste has mentioned he used some aspects of Lie choreo in his new song. And ON vibes for sure. ON inspo. Heard this was the last song in the album. Like dang! 0.0 So glad u liked it. =0} So much symbolism too. So deep. I adored the dance practice! Oh my gosh. Some choreo reminded me of Jackson Wang song called Blow. The more i watch the more i find things i did not notice on the 1st watch. The body tat German poem is beautiful and very fitting. Heard Sienna Lalau worked on this choreo with a team. UCLA choir was used again. They use them all the time on songs. The spiral/ the golden ratio, shell, 9, metaphors used as usual. The moon series of tats on his back is real. His Nevermind tat on his ribs is real and his 13 tat on his wrist is real too. The German poem on his chest tat was temporary. Jimin also has a 7 tat bet. his fingers on one hand. He has young forever tat above his elbows and youth behind his ear. But we did not see these in this MV. But showing his tats is another sign to us and himself that he is free. I suggest u check @DGReacts reaction to the song. He breaks it down really well.

Jimin’s words - “I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white.”

Part 1 is on Agust D's D-2 mixtape.😉 They are loosely connected. Jimin noted a similarity in themes (almost like a before and after).

"Set Me Free" is a track on SUGA's second mixtape "D-2". Jimin said in an interview that the two songs aren't directly correlated, but that the themes are similar in that Yoongi's is about being trapped while Jimin's is the second stage of actually being "set free" so he named his "Pt. 2"
    lovedbyyoongi said on 3/17/23
"When the track list for the album was revealed, many noticed that this pre-release single was designed as "Pt.2" despite the fact that Jimin doesn't have any existing songs to his name titled "Set me free". He confirms that It's nod to a track on bandmate Yoongi's second mixtape, D-2. "There isn't a connection, and we weren't trying to divide part one or part two," he explains. "But since it turns out my song talks about freedom and moving forward, and Yoongi's song talks about some of the stories that come before. I thought it would be good to come after that" quoted from twitter.

I saw this on twitter " yoongi, who raps fast and violent, asking for freedom in the most wistfully soft way, like a sigh to the air. and jimin, who sings gently and delicately, declaring his freedom in a loud war cry, commanding & absolute. that’s Art to me. "
The differences between Set Me Free on D-2 and Jimin's Set me Free pt2.
Also it's cute that the date I'm the corner at the beginning of the video is Yoongi's birthday and not the actual release date :3

I think the dancers in black could represent the doubts, fears and lack of confidence that he suffered at the start. And the autotune voice represents that angry, frustrated inner voice.
    I love this song 😭
    GrownupFangirl said on 3/18/23
I think this is directed inward. He used to be weighed down by trying to be manly enough, good enough, worrying about what others thought and was crazy hard on himself. So happy that he’s at peace and comfortable with who he is. He’s such a beautiful artist. 💜

In my, of course, unbiased opinion this is the best debut among the guys, and that is saying something given how much I truly love Indigo and Jack in the Box. People were floored when they saw JHope's More. It was surprising in a way but also so on brand for JHope. Jimin, well. He has been painted as this polite, funny, and charming guy and I believe those are all true, but he has a soul of an artist. People are thrown off by the auto-tune which is used as an effect to show his inner dialog and opinions from others that have caged him. His response to these things is his singing/rapping voice in a register many have not experienced. I can't think of many that have taken so much hatred. It is now his time to shine and be fully and authentically himself. I am so excited for the album and his live performance on Jimmy Fallon's show.

    Some of the symbolism:
The video appears to haven been filmed inside a panopticon prison - where prisoners were watched 24/7 without relief
Jimin sings "set me free" 9 times in each chorus. 9 usually represents fulfilment (e.g. of a cycle) and symbolises awakening and inner wisdom gained through life experiences and struggles.
The dancers' spiral is the Fibonacci spiral. It is found throughout nature and, put simply, represents our ever evolving journey in life.

I live my life in ever-widening circles
that stretch themselves out over all the things.
I won't, perhaps, complete the last one,
    but I intend on trying.

I circle around God, around the ancient tower,
    and I circle for thousands of years;

It's German, so I can understand some of it but it's been a long time since I took German lessons and reading German was always harder for me than speaking it and I have no one to practice with anymore. We are a family that speak many languages alongside our mother tongue which is English.
The whole album is about all the thoughts, fears, issue's he went through in Covid his struggles with his mental health, his depressive thoughts and he admits he was drinking more. Set Me Free is really his struggle to set his mind free from all those depressive thoughts, feelings etc.
Like Crazy references the film he watched a lot in covid and the fact he felt he had lost everything which of course was a lie his mind was telling him. Also the fact that he'd couldn't go out and do normal things met up with friends do normal things in covid and that he'd rather just sleep until it was all over/stay in dream than face reality. I think him standing in white with the other's fallen represents him setting himself free of all those dark thoughts and feelings he had in Covid that he's conquered it and he's ok now. Hope that helps.

Thank you for reacting to Jimin's solo works.. expect more from you. 💜️
Auto tune was kinda used to reflect his inner voice. Like the inner him who didn't let jimin set him free himself. So it was needed to add that insanely autotuned part. Like it was mild at first.. then it get insanely autotuned when he is getting more close to set him self free.. so it was used for a reason.💜️
