Hi guys! Hope you enjoy the reaction. Apologies for not having captions on! That’s my bad 😥 - we’ve also sorted out some of the sound issues from our mics and video playback so future videos should look and sound way better! Love you 🖤🖤
I was about to tell you that I like your reactions & breakdown, but why don't you use captions? I hope you do in the future. Lyricism is such a key component of BTS 's music. I wish you well on your journey!
@@MCDofWCR just curious, did you have them on your end and they just didn't appear in the screen recording? because at the beginning of Dope you responded to RM's opening line so I just assumed it was the viewers who couldn't see it
I am really enjoying your reactions and love the honesty, not all BTS songs are for everybody, but BTS has songs that everybody loves. I understood exactly what you meant Ryan about the 1st song Dope, it is more pop sounding then some of their other songs, now for me I love all of BTS’ songs, but I also just love all music, my playlist can have anything from Kpop, Classic Rock, Oldies, Crooners, Jazz, Heavy Metal, Rap, Hip Hop, Classical,Country, so basically all genre’s of music, now I don’t care for all Artist, like you Ariana not my fav, Taylor Swift while I agree they can sing, I just can’t listen to them. So I was surprised you liked Black Swan, but at the same time I can see how it’s your fav so far, it is very unique I think, it’s like you can’t really put it into one genre, it’s got your rap singing, but also awesome vocals, while it gives off vibes of like a ballet, chill vibe. The member who is shown dancing by himself is Jimin, he is trained in Contemporary dancing, I wish we could see this more often, he’s so beautiful when he dances contemporary, not that he isn’t an all around fantastic dancer, this is just beautiful. BTS has many different genre’s where I think Stray kids are more rap, hard hitting style of genre, which they are so good at, they do have others less rap songs, but I think with BTS wide variety of genre’s is what sets them apart, both are fabulous singers and dancers, I think that Stray kids are the only other kpop group that could be as successful worldwide like BTS, yet there will never be another BTS they are in a class all by themselves & I believe a lot has to with their lyrics, sorry I could go on and on about this, but this is already so long, so I will end that here. Last thing I will say is, it seems like you could see the English lyrics Ryan, but we couldn’t, which for me is not a problem, I have watched these video’s and listen to these songs so much I already know what they are saying, besides at concerts they don’t show lyrics 😂 Love you MCD, been watching since you started reacting to BTS glad you are bringing Ryan along as well, love you as well Ryan 💜💜 Looking forward to more of your reactions🫰🏼
AND THE BEST PERFORMERS!!! SHAWN STOCKMAN OF BoyzIIMen said it was the best concert with the most energy he'd ever experienced except for Michael Jackson
I going to start by saying I'm 59... I discovered BTS by accident in 2014 and curiosity got me to listen to more, Captions on, from there I was lost. They are fantastic musicians, they can sing, rap & dance, they often write their own lyrics and are often involved in the production. Their lyrics, often focus on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work also often references literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. "BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents," They started out as a HipHop group in 2013, (they have 3 rappers, 2 of which were from the Korean underground rap scene & 4 Vocalists) but actually cover so many genres of music in addition to HipHop, including Pop, EDM, Rap, RnB, Rock, Urban, Trap, Ballads... with a Discography of 300 plus songs they say not everyone will like all BTS songs, but there is a BTS song for everyone. For anyone willing to find out more I recommend taking a look at what they have to offer and suggest the following to start the BTS Rabbit Hole Journey: Mic Drop - Steve Aoki Remix Fire Danger DNA Idol Blood Sweat and Tears On Kinetic Manifesto prima Black Swan Fake Love Not Today Save Me Truth Untold Spring Day (which has spent 5 consecutive years in Goan's Digital Chart's) Your Eyes Tell Their early songs, NO More Dreams & We Are Bulletproof part 2 The Cyphers if you like rap Outra Tear Then solo works: Jungkook - Euphoria, My Time, Seven V - Singularity, Stigma (live version), Sweet Night (the first and only song in history to top 119 countries on the worldwide iTunes chart), Love Me Again, Rainy Days, Fri(end)s Suga's alter ego Agust D - Daewitcha, Agust D, The Last, Shadow, Haegeum, Amygdala RM - Persona, Joke, Do You J-Hope - Boy Meets Evil, More, Arson Jin - Epiphany, Abyss Jimin - Serendipity, Filter, Crazy Then you need to move on to the Melon Music Awards appearances by BTS, it is like a mini concert.
BTS songs are unique...they may sound catchy, danceable, bubbly but once you get to know the explanations behind those lyrics it will hit you differently and make you realize a lot of things...all songs are legit 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
BTS has something for everyone within their diverse (and huge) discography. Their albums have a storytelling theme and sometimes there is 2-3 album sets that continue the story. We never know what the next comeback will sound like, but we know it will be good. I'm enjoying your journey and I like that you're sharing your trip with your friends. 💜
Thank you for watching! Once we get some kind of ‘hold’ on their discography (because it’s very overwhelming) we’ll be sure to do deeper dives into albums etc 😊
@@MCDofWCR Just to add to your knowledge, there is a fictional storyline that is hidden within some of their MVs and other media (books, short films, webtoon, and mobile game) that started in 2015. AND (sorry to overwhelm you even further) they have another YT channel BANGTANTV that has everything except their MVs... behind the scenes, dance practices, and their own variety show Run BTS where they do challenges and games, etc... It's a lot!
The mention of MJ showing his soul through his dancing reminded me of how Jimin (the dancer in the Black Swan MV) has mentioned how he lives for the stage and telling stories through movement 😊
If Ryan is a singer then u guys should check out Film Out and Crystal Snow Live show.. Both are BTS Japanese track and pls turn on the CC.. Lyrics are important.. Tq
@@MCDofWCR- just to warn you that Japanese songs usually get blocked so you will probably have to blur the video. Anything with James Corden will also get blocked, but I would still highly recommend their Carpool Karaoke.
Jimin is the solo dancer in Black Swan. He is trained in contemporary dance as well as martial arts. BTS covers so many genres that you’ll definitely find quite a few you love. Their rap line is amazing and the vocal line floors us every time!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰
I am really enjoying your trip down the rabbit hole. You MUST, MUST, listen with your friend, to, BTS Room Live FESTA 2021. You will get a good idea of their different styles of music as they sing a medley of their old songs to the newer ones. You will love this , for sure 💜
Thanks. The thing about BTS is you have to watch them live too, they are even better. I have been been to their concerts and the group stage charisma and synergy is insane. They do very complicated choreography too along with very high vocals and rapping. And to top it all their lyrics are deep and meaningful. Enjoy!
You guys seem to be such nice people!❤ I love how you are being honest about how you feel about the songs without being disrespectful! I won't go in to comemnting on the songs. I'm sure other ARMYs will do that! I will just make some general comments on their music. If I were to describe BTS' discography in short, two words come to my mind: "Authenticity" and "Variety". If one were to combine these two words while thinking of BTS music or listening to it, I guess one might get what I mean! Also, if you get to listen to their solo work, you might get an idea about why their music is so diverse! It is very difficult to box their music in to one thing or the other . I am so excited for the music they are going to create after them come back from the military! Also looking forward to more from Ryan and MCD (sorry I dont know your name)!💜
Thank you for saying that! Yes, there is so much to dive into that it’s hard to know where to start so we rely on the lovely fans of BTS etc like you, to guide us on our journey! We’ll be checking out J-hope’s album on Friday when it drops and we’re really looking forward to it! 🖤
It's important to compare different songs because the BTS vocal line is brilliant. Please react to Something like House Of Cards, Truth Untold, Jamais Vous, 0 O' Clock,
I love the respectful honesty and your friend's comments gives us a good idea of what he'll like. And you, too. If you ever get a chance, definitely the Busan concert version of 'Ugh!' might be his style, though it's just the rapline
The solo Dancer was Jimin who's trained in more than one dance style Contemporary and Hip Hop but also Traditional Korean Dance and was received an award for his traditional Fan Dance normally performed by woman. He also will add element's of his martial arts training. The instrument I've been informed is a Traditional Korean Stringed instrument they are known for some time's using traditional Korean instruments, beats, references, dance moves and clothing.
Captions please! I am from the UK and BTS ARMY and you definitely can't base an opinion on a few of songs. My favourite BTS tracks are not actually their lead singles, many of their other album tracks are actually better, but tracks Fake Love and Black Swan are stand out singles. If you keep listening I guarantee you will find more tracks you like, including their solos. You can easily deep dive into each track as there are dance practices, behind the scenes for everything, tv and award show performances etc. BTS contain rappers who just happen to be in an idol group, whereas other idol groups have members who rap. A VERY distinct difference. You should check out MONSTER by RM. A great hip hop beat.💜
Lovely reactions. Dope came out in 2015. Stray Kids debuted in 2018. Going forward, knowing when the songs came out will help you. BTS' origin is Hip Hop. If you watch the music from 2013 you will see what I mean. You can see how they have evolved. Once Ryan see the lyrics for Black Swan he will love it even more. All about the fear of losing your passion for your art. The guitar is tuned to sound like a traditional Korean instrument called a gayageum. And also a bit like an erhu. I love how they add these elements into their music, still. 😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻 I think Ryan and yourself would love: Daechwita Haegeum Arson More (the punk Rap song I mentioned before) Wildflower And that's just the rappers. 😂
Mic Drop came out in 2017 and Black Swan in 2020. So BTS was growing up - dance, lyrics, settings. Dope was filmed in a warehouse, Black Swan in the historical Los Angeles Theater. Progress.
BTS is absolutely the Big Boys. Everyone else has followed in their footsteps, whether it's combining rap with vocals and excellent dance, or what have you. BTS is so good that they got the rest of the world listening. With over 300 songs, mostly self-written and self-produced, in a dozen genres, there's something for everyone. Whole group, rap line, vocal line, solos and collabs this past year, they truly deserve not to be called k-pop anymore, they've transcended. I'm waiting for them to get out, not settling for less.
The first thing to remember when listening to BTS is that the song may sound light and fun but if you read the translation of the lyrics you'll found that there is a deep meaning. Dope is a social commentary on the plight of young South Koreans who have given up on marriage and kids and even dating because they can't afford it. It's an old song from 2015. Mic Drop is as you thought about slapping back at their haters. They've had a lot of problem with unnecessary hate over the years. Early A.R.M.Ys did a lot to protect them. We still have to do that from time to time. Mic Drop was released in 2018. They sing, 'So busy my body ain't enough' and at the time they were working without a break and it nearly finished them. Black Swan is about how an entertainer dies twice and that the first death when they can no longer perform is the worst than actual death. It was filmed in a disused theatre in L.A. Jimin is the one doing the solo dance sections. It highlights his contemporary dance training. There are 3 members in the rap line but only SUGA and RM were rapper before they joined their agency. J-Hope learned to rap after he joined but he also sings but is not in the vocal line. The vocal line is Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V. For full on rap try, Ddaeng, and the Cyphers. The rappers also have their own solo works. Yes you should know who Steve Aoki is, LOL.
There may be solo songs you have heard on American radio because they are all English and Rolling Stones named one of the vocalist in their top 200 voices of all time. He was only 15 in the Dope video. The thing about BTS is they do not have a “sound” 😊. Thanks for reacting! I hope you show your friend the guide. I know it can be hard at first but lyrics are important in BTS songs unless you just want to get the vibe. I would show Ryan group: “ON Kinetic Manifesto”, “Run BTS” dance practice, “Blood, Sweat and Tears”, and “Not Today”. Rappers: “Ugh”, and “Cyphers” Vocalist: “House of Cards” and “Truth Untold”. (Both live) Individual members solos (Oldest to youngest) Jin - “Epiphany” live Suga aka Agust D - “Daechwita” J-Hope - “More” RM - “Joke” Jimin - “Like Crazy” V - “Fri(end)s” Jung Kook - “Still With You” (there is no mv) Jung Kook - “Standing Next to You” (either the mv or live at iHeart Radio)
BTS are best in live performances. The energy is insane. My favorite performances for rap is Outre Tear live at Wembly.(very emotional performances from RM, Suga and JHope the rap line. This rap is about the time they were thinking of disbanding). Another live performance is Cypher Medley 1,2,3 & 4 with Supreme Boi. Suga aka Agust D does Daechwita, RM in "Joke". Sometimes it takes a few tries to find english subtitles. For the vocal line I love live House of Cards and Jin's Epiphany live.
I love your reactions to BTS and it would be great to see your friend also reacting again, there are very good songs and especially just the rappers, greetings from CHILE🇨🇱🤗👏👏👍
@@MCDofWCR- the 2 songs mentioned here are actually part of a trilogy. It would be amazing if you could react to them in order, either as one video or three parts. 💜
Hmm it is interesting thing that your friend said that he saw BTS songs as more mainstream and "radio friendly" (even tho radio stations don't want to play BTS, but it is different conversation), and his another example was Stray kids, bc this statment shows difference in thinking between person that knows anythinig about kpop/bands and person that knows nothing... I only say it as information, BTS, a band that started in 2013 as hip hop idol group had very hard road, especially by doing hip hop, with time BTS become band that do any music, and the simplest reason is that they grow, they find everyday things that interestem them and they want to try, there is 7 people that like different things, and working as team you have compromise, find common ground and be respectful, and I think there isn't better example then BTS as band that is strong and happybwith great teamwork, and it wasen't easy way, but they evolved and kept themself try things and don't be in one box... And then we talk Stray kids kpop band that started in 2018 with heavy hip hop infuence, edm and rock, in 2018 BTS was higher then anyone from Asia ever been in music industry, BTS had 5 yeas of hard work and trials behind, I say it bc if BTS wasen't were they were you don't know if Stray kids would be like they are nie a rater were they are now. And not to take away from Stray kids their work etc, bc I don't try to do it, to take away from them. I try to say that after BTS self producing hip hop band survived in industry there were so many band that come with heavy hip hop style, and yes kpop always had rap, it is part of industry, but "rapper" was simply position in band this were people that learned rapping and got position in band as rapper but they also singed sometimes, in times when BTS started you could cound kpop band with rapper with experience and respect for culture on your hands, bc band member with position "rapper" wasen't looked as "real rapper", most this people didn't write their verses, didn't care about culture, etc, they could rap and it was all, they didn't live with hip hop in hearts, then came BTS, band started from people that came from underground rap scene, with experience, it was different thinking what hip hop is, but like I said they also evolved with yeas bc everyone changes and it is good to explore especially when you start this young, but in the core they are the same band that started 11years ago, bc of how they pushed to do "real rap", rappers always wrote theirs part, mixing music, helping with production, etc, the "self producing band" become something good, and then come out a lot of band that also did it, focused on begin full in in proces of music making, and Stray kinds are in a way team that florished bc of the door that BTS opened and showed a lot new ways to be kpop band. So yes of couse Stray kinds have their own music color and you can prefer it, etc. But it also a band that was formed by reality survival show. I wanted only say that from my perspective, person that saw when Stary kids started and was with BTS for long time, we don't put bands agnist each other, we don't compere and especially idol band that come at such different times, like for most fans the fact that this bands are from different generation of kpop is big reason not to compare. Not to say how they formed and started and in what company make difference. Hmm in general Stray kids have a lot "noise music", this a name of heavier, faster music in kpop industry, and this is the biggest difference between this two bands, if we don't look simply at the time they come out. And this is my little rand, I hope it didn't sound bad, or too subiective, bc I have nothing agnist Stray kids they do their thing and are great at this, their fans love them, BTS do their thing and they are great. I only wanted to try show mindset from someone that looked from the side at this and has some knowlage... I was trying to show in obiective way why we don't really compare, but everyone can of course have preference, that different thing. I also understand that if you only heard two band that are under the same umbrella you will try to compare its human nature. Wish you best.
The thing that made bts BIG worldwide it's exactly the fact that they produce, write and direct their own songs. I know the industry adresses them as kpop, but they are not kpop at all. They write lyrics addressing real life problems, about mental health, about the corruption in the music industry, about the down sides of the government, about every sensitive matter. And that's absolutely not usual in kpop. At least it wasn't before them. They paved the way. They are not orchestrated. And they did it with blood sweat and tears, because the whole industry went against them, they went through hell and back before reaching the success. There's plenty of videos of them struggling and crying and thats just 1% of what they went through. They got mistreated during award shows, during realities, varieties, to the point that they created their own realities variety and content. All because they came from a small company on the verge of bankrupt. They put themselves out there with vlogs, behind the scenes, they basically recorded their entire lives since day 1 cause that was the only way to promote themselves and everybody learned about them and their pure, sincere personalities, passion, hardwork and hardships. The are real! And raw! They are so down to earth. They still don't realize how famous they are. They are different from everybody! And now their company is the biggest one (and the industry still looks down on them) and has built an "empire". Now every kpop group follows their steps, creating similar content and all. They set a new standard. They are unique!
The solo dancer in Black Swan is Jimin! He’s an incredible dancer…one of their 2 main dancers. Jimin can dance virtually every genre of dance and incorporates his extensive experience with martial arts. One thing you’ll learn about BTS is that their discography is vast; their music cannot be pigeonholed into one genre, because their songs are so diverse. Many of them iconic! I would suggest watching ‘ON Kinetic Manifesto’ and ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears’ Thanks very much for your reactions!
It's not too much of a risk when you show some BTS tracks to your friend in the hope they will like them. I think Dope was very early days in BTS history, maybe 2013/14, they were very young then. Ryan might like On Kinetic Manifesto, or Airplane part2, or a live performance of So What.
Loved your reaction. So pleased you’re enjoying your journey. My suggestions of what you might like are: Blood, Sweat and Tears, Ugh, Outro:Tear (no mv, live at Wembley is a fave), On:Kinetic Manifesto, Spinebreaker (v funny video they filmed themselves while in a hotel in Chile), Ddaeng (no mv but fun live performances). I could go on but will stop there for now.😊
I won't comment on the captions since others have done so before me (and you've already pinned your disclaimer on that note anyway), but I wanted to say, great job on showing him different facets of BTS' discography. As you've come to know, this isn't even a dent in the vast discography of BTS (you want a genre, name it, they've most likely done it), but I think you've done well in showing your friend these 3 MVs. Looking forward to your journey down the rabbit hole!
With "Black Swan," BTS divulge their most harrowing shadow yet, one that any person who lives for making art faces: losing the passion for creating. "A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." Martha Graham. This quote is at the root of the sentiments inlaid in "Black Swan." Much like a dancer feels purposeless when they can no longer express themselves through dance, BTS contends that the day that music no longer fills them with the same passionate fire as before, or even if there came a day when they stopped creating music - what they feel is their life's purpose - it would feel like death. RM sings, "If this can no longer resonate / No longer make my heart vibrate / Then this may be how I die my first death." Once again, BTS affirm that despite their countless record-breaking accolades, the wealth they've amassed, and their ever-increasing fame, they are artists. What means most to them is the art - music, visuals, dances - that they create. Great reaction.... appreciate the respectful honesty. Have a great day💜
I think you both should react to Suga’s trilogy of Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. He released the first song, Daechwita, in 2016, then Haegeum and Amygdala in 2023 as Agust D, his alter ego. Agust D is DT (Daegu Town, his birthplace) and Suga backwards.
Rare that someone who actually knows the Black Swan movie reacted to the song - finally! Hope we see him check out the lyrics to Black Swan, and can't wait for more from both of you! Once again if you can't find official music videos for any song, I suggest the channel Enjoy BTS More.
Thank you for introducing BTS to your friend. Thank you for your honest opinions, too. Music "hits" people differently. There are some that are not "your cup of tea", there are some that don't resonate well at first listen and sometimes, it grows on you. I appreciate your honesty. Thanks.
Bts debuted in 2013 they have been a group for nearly 11 years. Right now they are serving mandatory military service in South Korea. There are three rappers, jhope , rm and suga. There are four singers but actually they all do sing. They are taehyung, jin and jungkook who is the main vocalist. They cover many genres.
Hi, this was great - Thanks for introducing your friends to this wonderful world of K-Pop. You did a great job. So glad Ryan wants to see more. This was fun, looking forward to the next. Have a wonderful day. 💜
Cont... Hi I am back. Good reaction(Black Swan), ty. This one has beautiful deep meaning of their lyrics. As you notice like lines " It would be my first death. That's what I'm afraid of ." It has that emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion for what they do. With this song BTS dives deep into their inner selves as artists and faces the shadows they had once hidden. The song lends voice to their fears that one day music will no longer be able to move or touch them. The very moment they come face to face with the ‘Black Swan’ within themselves, however, they are stricken with a paradoxical realization that music is all they have. It is a confession of an artist who has truly learned what music means to himself. It's also inspired from Martha Graham, who said “A dancer dies twice once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.” Now with the band on a break from group work and focusing more on solo projects (solo albums). We know this was also a hint to us that they were struggling. I hope u watch all the performances for this song. =0] Stay safe. - 2019 ARMY NY USA 💜 Jen W said on 6/7/22 Black Swan ballet: changing from white to black swan - growing up, losing innocence. Black Swan movie - sacrificing mental and physical health to reach the top. Shadow/mirror images - self reflection. Black Swan: Mainly written by RM, the one you like, is about their fears of losing all passion for music, either writing it or performing on stage. It's also based on a quote by Martha Graham who was an important figure in the world of modern dance, "A dancer dies twice. Once when they stop dancing and this death is more painful." They've been doing this for a long time now and for some of them it's all they've ever done from a young age but realized music is their life. MsBeatrice_81 said on 3/19/22 Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness. It wasn't normal for idols to open up about their personal troubles at all. In fact, doing so got some idols thrown out of their companies. It was also not normal or common to have a running storyline/theme that is carried through multiple albums and/or MVs and songs. But BTS did it all so successfully, and broke those stigmas, to the point that now many other Korean idol groups have started trying to do those things, with varying degrees of sincerity and success. This song, its lyrics and MV are part of the "Shadow" portion of BTS's Map of the Soul era, in which they released albums and songs based on Carl Jung's theories regarding the Persona, Shadow, and Ego. This track is an exploration of their "shadow" selves' fear that they may someday lose their passion for their art - they ask if perhaps they are already losing it- and they wonder what comes after that "first death" of the loss of passion. In the end, they continue to fight for their passion and their art, claiming they won't be swept away by these fears again. I would encourage you to think about how counter-cultural BTS is being in songs like this: Not only are they dealing with topics that were taboo only a few years ago, but they're being unbelievably personally vulnerable, sincere and open. This is why we love them so much, and I'm sure you will, too! 💜 Example: A couple of weeks ago Jimmy Fallon had BTS on his late night show. They performed a song called Idol at This Idol performance at Gyeongbokgung Palace as a background and wearing hanboks. There are so many amazing location Rich with Ancient history. Here is a link to the idol performance, so you can see the background visual of the palace. th-cam.com/video/MXFkjMNXfpY/w-d-xo.html Sariel said on 3/1/22 The string instrument used is the Gayageum, a Korean zither.
IF YOU PREFER GRIT AND EDGE, the rap line being angry is at their best. Although that level of anger isn’t sustainable and I think they’re moved on from it for the most part. But this might be more up your alley: The rap line’s live performance of OUTRO: TEAR at Wembley Stadium from 2019 (all in black Dior) and their CYPHER MEDLEY (1-4) live from 2017 (where they were all in white) They also have more house influenced music. But I am still exploring their discography myself so can’t recommend this one yet.
He would LOVEEE Room Live Fiesta 2021, especially being a singer himself. Magic Shop live at Tokyo as well. I feel like he would love a lot of BTS's b sides. And Run BTS dance practice to appreciate just dancing.
I like how Ryan is honest but polite, trust me when i say this but BTS is for everyone. They have beautiful vocals too. Thank you for being nice and giving them a chance. Also their catalog is of more than 500+ songs - group and solo projects including. You will love them, in few month you will know, they will speak to your soul! I recommend my fav Japanese trachs CRYSTAL SNOW and STAY GOLD
Things Ryan would probably like to react to: -Black Swan Art Film - ON Kinetic Manifesto - Dionysus - Louder Than Bombs - Solos: Arson, Agust D, Do You, Set Me Free pt.3 - overall you can make a solos video Also for performances, absolutely MMA 2018 and 2019
BTS Group efforts: ON Kinetic Manifesto, Spinebreaker, Pied Piper, House of Cards (vocal line), Outro;TEAR, Cypher 1 through 4 (rap line). Solo efforts: Suga/Agust D: Snooze w/Woosung & Ryuichi Sakamoto, Daechwita/Haegum/Amygdala trilogy; Jhope: Neuron, I wonder w/Jungkook, On the Street w/J. Cole; RM: Seoul, Wildflower, Joke; Jin: Awake, The Astronaut, Epiphany; Jimin: Serendipity, Like Crazy, Set me Free; Taehyung/V: Singularity, Stigma, Fri(end)s; Jungkook: 3D, Standing next to you, Stay Alive. That ought to keep you guys busy for a while. I've deliberately chosen older and newer songs and a bunch of different genres to show their talent and diversity, they do write a lot of their music and produce as well. They have also chosen their MV concepts and directed some as well. Their lyrics are never trite and always carry deeper meanings within them. I have followed them for over 4 years and have yet to be bored with them.
i appreciate the honest reactions! one thing I will say is that BTS has a huge variety of songs -- including their solo stuff. Also, i agree about MIC Drop - i love when BTS is more aggressive & of course Hobi (jhope) then Suga in the beginning absolutely killed it.
Not thru yet, but captions!! Also, the kpop influence timeline is real. BTS is older than Stray Kids, Lee Know was a BTS back up dancer. If you listen to early kpop you will see how each generation is different and influenced by previous generations. Basically people who don't try kpop because of preconceived notions from many years ago will always be blown away by the last 10+ years of changes.
I'm excited for this journey!! This is my favorite part, watching people discover them! I'm about to binge the beginnings of your journey. Just found you today!!!
Our amazing multi genre 7 They're my daily go-to listen. Miss them, looking forward to their return next year! Enjoyed the reaction, guys. SKz is great, too, but BTS are my daily smile. Love their diverse music in their solo work.
Really enjoyed this reaction. My favorite BTS song is “on: kinetic manifesto.” I highly recommend it. I also have an another K-pop group that I love called Enhypen. Their overall concept is vampires, but I think if you watch - you might wanna start with Drunk-Dazed and FEVER.
Love it, great reaction! Would love to see both of you again! BTS has such different genres that it's difficult to choose... The Festa Room Live is a medley of some songs, which I recommend for new listeners.
Songs with MVs ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film Fire Not Today Blood Sweat and Tears Fake Love Spring Day No MV (use live performance or dance practice) Run BTS Dionysus Jump
You mentioned MJ who’s a big inspiration to the members. Recently, JK (the main vocalist) latest solo song “Standing Next to You” paid homage to MJ’s dance. Also, Ryan might like “Fake Love” because it’s intriguing storytelling.
They been in the industry for 11 years, so they have a huge discography. You should delve more into their music. I recommend dynamite, Blood sweat & tears, and On Kinetic Manifesto.
I enjoyed listening to you being so thoughtful about your reactions. I always love seeing musicians discover BTS 😁 their music is all over the map but it's creative and sincere and well done - so whether or not it's to your specific taste, it's good at being what it is. Musicians recognize the craft of it and it's fun to watch you get sucked in by always having more to discover 😁 I always suggest that people just follow their own curiosity - there's so much to explore, have fun doing it! If we know what you particularly like we'll offer guidance (which you've already seen), but please don't worry that there's a right way to fall down the rabbit hole. And don't worry, it's a really nice rabbit hole 😁 There are some vocal line live performances where they stand still and sing their hearts out, which I recommend to singers - you can really see their technique. Truth Untold and House of Cards are two of the best. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your friend with us. 💜
There are good intro videos to BTS by Xceleste (Who is BTS), Rice Squad (A Most Beautiful Life Goes on) and Guide to BTS by Taylor. It will give you a good idea as to the background of the songs, the members, their triumps and hurdles as well as the progression of their discography for better understanding of their success.
@@jg5615absolutely my fault! They will be on 100 percent from now on 🖤
@@MCDofWCR just curious, did you have them on your end and they just didn't appear in the screen recording? because at the beginning of Dope you responded to RM's opening line so I just assumed it was the viewers who couldn't see it
I am really enjoying your reactions and love the honesty, not all BTS songs are for everybody, but BTS has songs that everybody loves.
@@nickismith8611 do you know what? I can’t remember but that would suggest so!
BTS ARE THE MOST VERSATILE GROUP IN THE WORLD. THEY ARE THE BEST FOR A REASON
"BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents,"
They started out as a HipHop group in 2013, (they have 3 rappers, 2 of which were from the Korean underground rap scene & 4 Vocalists) but actually cover so many genres of music in addition to HipHop, including Pop, EDM, Rap, RnB, Rock, Urban, Trap, Ballads... with a Discography of 300 plus songs they say not everyone will like all BTS songs, but there is a BTS song for everyone.
For anyone willing to find out more I recommend taking a look at what they have to offer and suggest the following to start the BTS Rabbit Hole Journey:
Mic Drop - Steve Aoki Remix Fire
Danger
DNA
Idol
Blood Sweat and Tears
On Kinetic Manifesto prima
Black Swan
Fake Love
Not Today
Save Me
Truth Untold
Spring Day (which has spent 5 consecutive years in Goan's Digital Chart's)
Your Eyes Tell
Their early songs, NO More Dreams & We Are Bulletproof part 2
The Cyphers if you like rap
Outra Tear
Then solo works:
Jungkook - Euphoria, My Time, Seven
V - Singularity, Stigma (live version), Sweet Night (the first and only song in history to top 119 countries on the worldwide iTunes chart), Love Me Again, Rainy Days, Fri(end)s
Suga's alter ego Agust D - Daewitcha, Agust D, The Last, Shadow, Haegeum, Amygdala
RM - Persona, Joke, Do You
J-Hope - Boy Meets Evil, More, Arson
Jin - Epiphany, Abyss
Jimin - Serendipity, Filter, Crazy
Then you need to move on to the Melon Music Awards appearances by BTS, it is like a mini concert.
Beautifully said! ARMY ❤
Run BTS live from Busan Concert!
Yes, Dope may sound like a catchy pop song but it also had lyrics about life in Korea as a young person.
Louder Than Bombs is a great vocal song. The raps are fire, as well
My favorite. 💜💜💜
Definitely "ON" and if he likes the rap line, show him a live performance of "TEAR". "Fire" is another banger. :)
Black swan is a masterpiece
Tq
Yep only noticed just now we didn’t have cc on! We usually do so apologies for that 😭
No worries.. You guys can still watch it on your own time
@@MCDofWCR- just to warn you that Japanese songs usually get blocked so you will probably have to blur the video.
Anything with James Corden will also get blocked, but I would still highly recommend their Carpool Karaoke.
@@djlivvy46 they usually are ok if you put big blocks of text over them?
FILM OUT live amazing , I just recently realized my fave one is Sowoozoo, but also love Blue outfits version!
Jimin is the solo dancer in Black Swan. He is trained in contemporary dance as well as martial arts. BTS covers so many genres that you’ll definitely find quite a few you love.
Their rap line is amazing and the vocal line floors us every time!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰
The dancing was unreal! Thank you for watching 🖤
I am really enjoying your trip down the rabbit hole. You MUST, MUST, listen with your friend, to, BTS Room Live FESTA 2021. You will get a good idea of their different styles of music as they sing a medley of their old songs to the newer ones. You will love this , for sure 💜
Yes, yes!
Great suggestion!!!
Thanks. The thing about BTS is you have to watch them live too, they are even better. I have been been to their concerts and the group stage charisma and synergy is insane. They do very complicated choreography too along with very high vocals and rapping. And to top it all their lyrics are deep and meaningful. Enjoy!
I’ve watched the live performance of UGH! (Granted it’s just the three of them) and it was phenomenal! 🖤
@@MCDofWCR kings!
@@MCDofWCRall the rap line songs are amazing live! They feed off the crowd so much!
@@MCDofWCR do you will check Jhope new album or his old album?? Just curious 😁😁
Really nice to see both of you reacting together..yes will love to see Ryan back ..thank you 💜💜💜
It's important to compare different songs because the BTS vocal line is brilliant. Please react to Something like House Of Cards, Truth Untold, Jamais Vous, 0 O' Clock,
He's going to love J Hope's Arson and More.
I love the respectful honesty and your friend's comments gives us a good idea of what he'll like. And you, too.
If you ever get a chance, definitely the Busan concert version of 'Ugh!' might be his style, though it's just the rapline
I recommend the song "ON - Kinetic Manifesto Filme." and "RUN BTS" (on stage in Busan)🇧🇷💜
😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻
I think Ryan and yourself would love:
Daechwita
Haegeum
Arson
More (the punk Rap song I mentioned before)
Wildflower
And that's just the rappers. 😂
Thank you for the suggestions:) Ryan really did love black swan and hasn’t stopped talking about it! Can’t wait to check some of these out 🖤
Mic Drop came out in 2017 and Black Swan in 2020. So BTS was growing up - dance, lyrics, settings. Dope was filmed in a warehouse, Black Swan in the historical Los Angeles Theater. Progress.
Black Swan is a masterpiece. Jimin's contemporary solo was so perfect for the piece💞
I love every version of Black Swan. Orchestral, art film, every live, the dance intros, it's just an incredibly gorgeous song.
I think Ryan should react to NOT TODAY that is such a great music video and the dance is phenomenal and he will def be jumping to it
I will do thanks for the suggestion !
Oh this is a really good call! He loved Mic Drop, he'll love Not Today. Not that they're all that similar but... Yeah.
If your playing this, especially for someone else, you really need to turn on the captions. The lyrics in their songs have so much meaning.
I would show Ryan
group: “ON Kinetic Manifesto”, “Run BTS” dance practice, “Blood, Sweat and Tears”, and “Not Today”.
Rappers: “Ugh”, and “Cyphers”
Vocalist: “House of Cards” and “Truth Untold”. (Both live)
Individual members solos
(Oldest to youngest)
Jin - “Epiphany” live
Suga aka Agust D - “Daechwita”
J-Hope - “More”
RM - “Joke”
Jimin - “Like Crazy”
V - “Fri(end)s”
Jung Kook - “Still With You” (there is no mv)
Jung Kook - “Standing Next to You” (either the mv or live at iHeart Radio)
Monster RM
BTS are best in live performances. The energy is insane. My favorite performances for rap is Outre Tear live at Wembly.(very emotional performances from RM, Suga and JHope the rap line. This rap is about the time they were thinking of disbanding). Another live performance is Cypher Medley 1,2,3 & 4 with Supreme Boi. Suga aka Agust D does Daechwita, RM in "Joke". Sometimes it takes a few tries to find english subtitles. For the vocal line I love live House of Cards and Jin's Epiphany live.
YES!! These two...!!! ⬆⬆⬆
I love your reactions to BTS and it would be great to see your friend also reacting again, there are very good songs and especially just the rappers, greetings from CHILE🇨🇱🤗👏👏👍
Greetings friend from Chile! Thank you for watching 🖤 he will be back 😜
Have you listened to Agust D(Suga from BTS)solo stuff, he's one of the rappers, Daechwita and Haegeum are fantastic.

I agree with you
But also before BTS was BigBang
But i think i wil skip this reaction based on your comment
Jimin is the solo dancer in Black Swan. He studied contemporary dance before coming to BTS. He’s also a black belt in taekwondo.

The choreography is tight! Dope was filmed in 2015, they were all in their late teens, two were 21.

"Fake Love" needs to be on your list, and "Pied Piper" too :)
I would suggest watching ‘ON Kinetic Manifesto’ and ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears’
Thanks very much for your reactions!

RM sings, "If this can no longer resonate / No longer make my heart vibrate / Then this may be how I die my first death."
Once again, BTS affirm that despite their countless record-breaking accolades, the wealth they've amassed, and their ever-increasing fame, they are artists.
Agust D was released in 2016 then, Daechwita was released in 2020-2021.

- 2019 ARMY NY USA 💜

Black Swan ballet: changing from white to black swan - growing up, losing innocence.

Fun fact: Before BTS began doing it, it wasn't normal at all for Korean idol groups to release songs with deeper meanings, discuss serious topics in their songs, acknowledge issues of vulnerability like burnout, depression or mental illness.
Example: A couple of weeks ago Jimmy Fallon had BTS on his late night show. They performed a song called Idol at This Idol performance at Gyeongbokgung Palace as a background and wearing hanboks. There are so many amazing location Rich with Ancient history. Here is a link to the idol performance, so you can see the background visual of the palace. th-cam.com/video/MXFkjMNXfpY/w-d-xo.html

The string instrument used is the Gayageum, a Korean zither.
Liked your reaction! Here a Mexican 61 years old army who loved bts and you should read the captions too! 💜💜🇲🇽🇲🇽💜💜
IF YOU PREFER GRIT AND EDGE, the rap line being angry is at their best. Although that level of anger isn’t sustainable and I think they’re moved on from it for the most part. But this might be more up your alley:
The rap line’s live performance of OUTRO: TEAR at Wembley Stadium from 2019 (all in black Dior) and their CYPHER MEDLEY (1-4) live from 2017 (where they were all in white)
They also have more house influenced music.
I recommend my fav Japanese trachs CRYSTAL SNOW and STAY GOLD
great chill vibe
Things Ryan would probably like to react to:
-Black Swan Art Film
- ON Kinetic Manifesto
- Dionysus
- Louder Than Bombs
- Solos: Arson, Agust D, Do You, Set Me Free pt.3 - overall you can make a solos video
Also for performances, absolutely MMA 2018 and 2019
If he wants more radio friendly, you could show him Fake Love, Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance.
Really enjoyed this reaction. Thank you.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
i appreciate the honest reactions! one thing I will say is that BTS has a huge variety of songs -- including their solo stuff.
Yep - apologies for the captions! Oversight on my part 🖤
Also, I've grown to love all generations of kpop and Kpop is not really a genre, it is just Korean music.
I'm excited for this journey!! This is my favorite part, watching people discover them! I'm about to binge the beginnings of your journey. Just found you today!!!
Ryan would like V's album Layover. It had Sinatra vibes. "Slow Dancing" for a song rec.
@@MCDofWCRyes there are videos of Stray Kids fanboying over BTS. They like each other.
Love the reaction guys! I really like your vibe.
Thank you so much!!
Enjoyed you reactions keep them up, more BTS.

SKz is great, too, but BTS are my daily smile. Love their diverse music in their solo work.
Really enjoyed this reaction. My favorite BTS song is “on: kinetic manifesto.” I highly recommend it. I also have an another K-pop group that I love called Enhypen. Their overall concept is vampires, but I think if you watch - you might wanna start with Drunk-Dazed and FEVER.
highly recommend BTS Silver Spoon explained by a Korean
I highly recommend “on” it has very good vocals in it 💜
Also “ The Truth Untold” and “ Louder Than Bombs “
Hi guys, thank you to talk friendly about our loved ones. A silver French Army (their fandom).❤❤❤

Thank you for watching!
Love it, great reaction! Would love to see both of you again!
BTS has such different genres that it's difficult to choose...
The Festa Room Live is a medley of some songs, which I recommend for new listeners.
Songs with MVs
ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film
Fire
Not Today
Blood Sweat and Tears
Fake Love
Spring Day
No MV (use live performance or dance practice)
Run BTS
Dionysus
Jump
Gracias por tu reacción 🫰💜💜💜🇦🇷 Argentina
You mentioned MJ who’s a big inspiration to the members. Recently, JK (the main vocalist) latest solo song “Standing Next to You” paid homage to MJ’s dance. Also, Ryan might like “Fake Love” because it’s intriguing storytelling.
They been in the industry for 11 years, so they have a huge discography. You should delve more into their music. I recommend dynamite, Blood sweat & tears, and On Kinetic Manifesto.

Thank you for watching!
Really enjoyed your banter and discussion. 💜
BTS is impressive
Felicitări BTS cei mai talentați frumoși perfecți tare dor de ei ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed listening to you being so thoughtful about your reactions. I always love seeing musicians discover BTS 😁 their music is all over the map but it's creative and sincere and well done - so whether or not it's to your specific taste, it's good at being what it is. Musicians recognize the craft of it and it's fun to watch you get sucked in by always having more to discover 😁
I always suggest that people just follow their own curiosity - there's so much to explore, have fun doing it! If we know what you particularly like we'll offer guidance (which you've already seen), but please don't worry that there's a right way to fall down the rabbit hole.
And don't worry, it's a really nice rabbit hole 😁
There are some vocal line live performances where they stand still and sing their hearts out, which I recommend to singers - you can really see their technique. Truth Untold and House of Cards are two of the best.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your friend with us. 💜
❤🎉😜😘😝❤️🔥💜KEEP ON GOING!!! AND KEEP ON ROCKIN! THANK YOU 💖
i think Ryan will like Airplane pt 2, Idol, and Run BTS .. thanks for your reaction vids for our bangtan boys. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Dk d ktv has best Daewachita explaination video. Captures. Korean cuktural references. XCeleste hardships is best.
Welcome to the BTS world
Love your reactions
