The fact that the nismo Z is so expensive that I can reasonably consider a used GT-R in the first place is insane.
Take a old ass 2009 GTR nd u gotta modify it nd maintain when I can easily pure turbo’s swap this with a custom tune under 5k nd now im pushing over 600hp daily driving . Yall just be talking to talk
@@JmarzxSure, but a GTR is still a GTR lol. No matter how fast you make that Z, it’s still a $65k (at minimum!) parts bin car based off a 20 year old platform. You’d have to be a fool to buy a Nismo Z when you could easily get a Supra or M2 for the same money.
@@shaq2812yep. Nissan jist killed the Z car with the price .i will go M2 all day
@@shaq2812M2 all day lol‼️ I’d rather keep my AWD Q60 RS as a daily @ this point. Unfortunately, this car is overpriced by 10-15k lol Looking into jumping in an S58 soon enough, such a great platform.
Its a gamble taking a used GTR. You really need to ask the owner how they took care of it. They are built to last a crazy amount of miles if they are taken care of but alot of people don't take care of their cars.
The reason cars like this end up discontinued is because car manufacturers jack up the prices to the point where no one buys them
Maybe that's their whole ploy
dealers*
I remember seeing a video complaining about car enthusiasts, whining that they don’t eat the slop manufacturers give them.
Like… people want a cool, fun affordable car. Nobody wants a half assed, over priced mess.
@@thedog5k but sire, the higher profit margins
If they can just make a manual Nismo Z for a couple years they will have fulfilled the potential and can give it up.
Seeing their personality clash in every video is the most hilarious thing to me😂😂😂
The 370z NISMO is aging like a fine wine. Old school mechanical, manual transmission...a delightful experience!
350Z NISMO is the better car. As the years went on Nissan took NISMO less and less seriously.
Agreed, it’s the perfect sweet spot
@@Josh-cw8by yup
I liked mine, it was a fun car! They have lost their friggin minds with the pricing and everything on this.
@@Josh-cw8by nah the 370z improved on everything including weight and power. It’s the best if you want a NA experience
The price tag on this is crazy and insulting. This is how the base Z should have been from the get go for $40k especially considering all the tooling, etc for this 350Z has been paid off for decades now. There is nothing bespoke about this car which means it should be more affordable as all Z cars were before it.
Definitely a used GT-R
save 15k for trans repair lol
@@DeeJayAdverb that's the only thing that scared me away from buying a GT-R a couple of years ago.
@@PhillyDee215 Z all day ,no question
Go with a supra
@@bjackson8784 no one cares about that BMW except bmw fan boys
As someone who owned a loaded 370z and then bought a used GTR, go GTR. I am no fan of the new Z at all, just meh, so much of the reused parts of the 370z. Owning the GTR gives you way more power, room and of course the prestige of having it. I am in the Orlando area and I've only ever seen 1 new Z on the road, that's it!! I remember seeing the 370z when it was new and drooled over it, just the best sexy curves, I don't get that with this car. Trust me, get the GTR, you will love every single minute of it!
GTR gives prestige? Joke of the year 😂 I'm no new Z fan and the GTR was a marvel at its time, but too big, now old and always expensive to maintain.
@@nessuno5403 expensive to maintain lol. Yes its a performance car. And the GTR still remains a highly sought after car and it beats 95% of the cars out there.
@@ZeerXX you must be a North American nimrod :) but even there, that transmission and clutches cost a lot
@@nessuno5403what exactly did he say that makes him a nimrod?
@@xwarped83 that 'lol' and disagreeing with "it isn't costly to maintain"
Its crazy that you can get a slightly used c8 for the same price as this. Let that sink in.
gotta love depreciation
Nissan? My kids sell more of the finest candy bars at the school fundraiser than Nissan sells of these cars.
Well they sold over 3 million cars last year so somehow I doubt that
@@caboose22320 to rental companies at a deep discount, and they sold almost no Z's at all.
@@ChrisRogersTheAngryChefthat’s not even their fault to be fair it’s the markups
They're trying to manufacture exclusivity. By only making so many and only releasing them for sale in a slow trickle, they can ensure that A: the car stays a "new cool thing" for longer, B: they can keep the price up, and C: their sales numbers show that every single one they make, they sell. Of course if they just made more, and sold them at a FAIR price, they'd move more cars. But then we would be seeing them everywhere, and by 2025 it wouldn't be the cool new thing anymore. There would also be a lot more available used, and you'd start to see some overlap between used "new z" prices and used 370z prices, depending on the condition of the cars in question. Thats kinda what I was planning for when they first anounced the new gen car. Now its looking like I'll never be able to trade up.
Another example of brands pricing their target audiences out of cars lol.
Can’t believe this car cost the same amount as a dark horse lol
I just realized this, sheesh lol.
Dude right!? Both overpriced. They are almost gt500 price
@@danw4507 who cares
It's fxn wild😂
Why would anybody get this when you can get a new Mustang fully loaded in manual or auto for almost half the price lmao and be faster
These prices are absurd.. who is buying this vehicle?
Literally no one.
Fuck the pricing, they literally ponied up a 370z and added 20k to the pricing. And the sheep's are paying for it
@@j.a.g.8689That's significantly oversimplified. Yes it uses a slightly modified 370z chassis design, but the sheet metal, drive line, suspension and interior are vastly different and it's about a decade newer. Not exactly a fair comparison. That and the MSRP is practically the same as the 2017 nismo when accounting for inflation. Braindead comment
@FutureKLX300SMowner have you even sat inside of a Z? The fact that you said it's a decade newer makes me think no. The interior carries over the same shit ass parts as the other nissans, just like it carries over a lot from the other shit ass Z cars. You should go look at one in person. The dome switches look like they are from a 2005 Frontier. And yet they ask 60k for it. What a joke.
you can get a Mustang Dark Horse for similar money and it's waaaaay better at everything.
The Z with a tune can :
•Do a burn out
•Remove soft limiters so you can rev past 5k
•Brake boost
•Tune a better LC
Ask me how I know? 😏
I was thinking: who’s the donkey will buy one ?
Then suddenly i find you 😁
The 400z’s back is one of the best rear ends imo
Don't forget about the c7 Corvette now
Its a Z
Your moum's was better

Z is missing adaptive ride, leather, dual clutch, AWD. It is worlds below the GT-R and the Z’s competitors are faster like M2, Supra.
M240i is the Z competitor, not M2.
@@yousef.al-assaf M2 is cheaper at $63,200 so it is the competition with multicolored leather seats, contrasting threads, 18 way power seats, better engine and trans. But even the M240 has leather, adaptive suspension, 18 way power seats, better tech.
But the M2 is hideous tho
The Q60 is a better car and same power train as the new Z but half the price. Can get a nice 2017+ Q60 S or RS for mid 20’s to low 40’s depending on mileage and year but is the exact same motor and way more elegant interior. Just the trans is different 7 speed vs 9 speed. Q60 looks better to me I wish I didn’t trade mine in recently. Can also get the q60 in AWD too or RWD
@@IScoreUnderPressure4 True. And the Z looks great on the outside. If Nissan will address the weaknesses they could beat the M2 in the market. They won't though.
The non-Nismo looks corny as hell. Nismo actually looks pretty good.
I'd still take a Supra; it just looks and does everything better.
Excellent comment 💪🏾
Exactly. The non-Nismo just looks dumb. This is the first time I’ve seen one that I actually like.
Nah. The Nismo version is way over the top comic book looking just like the Civic type R’s where no mature adult would want to be seen in this. The base models more understated look is WAY better IMO. Especially the two tone versions with the black roof.
@@philipweber404 It’s the front bumper that kills the non-Nismo models. The square opening just looks like an unfinished prototype to me. Everything else is alright though.
I get the sense you guys don't always like each other.
Whaat! You don’t get sarcasm fir real💯
@@leroyericson1327 I'm Australian, I know sarcasm. These guys seem to differ on everything at times. Chemistry not quite there
@@brownhairydog6472 ok maybe I used to watch their vlogs but I never got that feeling,I hope you don’t expect people to have the same opinion
The grille looks so much better on this version
New Z looks cool but is drastically priced out of its core audience’s range.
Yes, they should put that body on a lighter car with a real transmission.
370 z still has a a more aggressive and desirable front headlights.
I prefer 350 z roof shape with 370 headlights.
The boys at Nissan make the best twin turbo charged V6 and it's not even remotely close. Look at how dominant the GTR has been across the board for all these years. This car is certainly going to be s monster, especially after tuners get their hands on it.
GT-R all day
You guys have so much fun with these, always great to watch no matter the car.
Yuri: “the gearbox isn’t satisfying”
Also Yuri: “I love those aggressive shifts”
Automatic gear even though its a clean ICE, No reving and No Burnout..... man, great car but they missed those 3. I would prefer a used Porsche Carrera for those 3 reasons.
That extra $20,000 on the NISMO Z's price is for all the nostalgia that it brings to the table. Nostalgia is expensive.
I have not seen a SINGLE new Nissan Z on the road since it came out lmao. I was actually hyped for the car in concept, then when it came out, it fell flat in demand.
There's one at my job I see everyday but I work at a big tech company and I haven't seen any others outside of there lol
I just can't see any sane person who would actually buy the Nismo Z over cars such as a Supra, M2, Dark Horse, RS3 etc..
No hurting Yuri’s feelings with Jack flirting.
I’m so glad y’all are manual enthusiasts 👍🏻
Love manual
Mustang GT350, Challenger ScatPack, F80 M3, M2 comp and the list goes on. Let this sit at the dealership with all the mark ups.
Jakubs head is getting reeeaaaall big
It's been big for awhile. He says a lot of passive aggressive things towards Yuri in almost all of their reviews.
Ok I thought I was the only one picking up on that.
Idk 🤷🏾♂️ doesn’t feel natural
Yea hes getting abit cringy
Think it grew?!?! 😂
Love that Nissan makes 2 coupes. Bravo
my buddy and i were the ones that met you at indy in the grandstands. it was so cool to meet you guys 🔥
They totally dropped the ball on these which is showcased by the fact that you see the old Zs everywhere and these new ones literally never
I know this is just a facelifted 370z with a smaller engine and two turbos, but they really shoulda put a DCT in it.
70k is embarrassing to pay for this
Canadian prices.
The cheapest ones I’ve seen are 60k in America.
I drive past a nissan dealership on my way to work everyday. They have 2 Zs sitting out front. 1 Nismo, and one performance. Other than that, I have yet to see one on the road. But man, they look sweet.
the price is crazy, there're several cars for the same money that should be much better
like M2 or Supra
(I have no idea didn't drive any of them ahah)
You guys are great, keep up the good work!👍👍💯
These new Z's have been out for like two years, and I've seen only one, and it was parked somewhere. Never seen one actually on the highway. It's a freaking unicorn.
Nissan spent more money over hyping the Z with ads and celebrities rather than actually developing a good car.
Love the Nismo Z. Wish it was manual and more affordable.
You and the rest of the Nissanphiles of the world.
As someone who's a big Nissan fan, it's really sad to see the current state they're in. They're one of the most iconic Japanese brands and they've fallen so far from grace. When you factor in all of the weird things going on with this car and then you put that absurd price tag on top of it, it's no wonder why people don't buy sports cars anymore and they get discontinued after 3 to 5 years.
I've seen more Cyber Trucks on the road than Zs, and I can't see how Nissan is asking 65k for a sports car with an outdated underpinnings that only comes with an auto and has so-so performance. No thanks, I'll keep my C6 with a MT.
Ah man, the music in the beginning got me…
How weird is it that I saw one of these this morning and built one online and said I wonder if the guys (straightpipes) reviewed one of these and low be hold!!!! I'm trippin! Also I saw a manual option online, but I'm in the US
I live in the bay area and I have yet to see a single Nissan Z since they launched back in 2022.
I usually don't like all black rims either but they do work on this car as Yuri mentioned. This is pretty sick but expensive! I think I might like the looks of the 370Z more.
Only ever seen two of these in the wild since they came out. Don’t think too many people are buying these.
White would be amazing
Engine sound is disappointing... And Yuri's pointing is getting it of hand! 😂
Finding a used manu base model and upgrading the suspension, brakes, cooling and seats seems like a better use of money
i have yet to even see a normal new z on the road
Remember that fun affordable sport car?
It'z right on zee tip of my tongue.
Already have a showroom Z and all stock. Definitely upgrade to a GT-R!!
Jakub rocking the Pepsi Rolex. I see you.
Supra all day for me for that price and it's still a real sports car. Can also find used C7 GS and Z06s all day for $65k which is CRAZY when you think about it.
Funny how a dark horse is better than all of those new with warranty.
@@hexagonosaurus5848
Not really better than the Supra and it's tuning platform
I think red on red is actually nice, but that's because I don't like the red trim so it makes it look like full body colour.
Nice to see you guys in Québec ! No plate on the front!
Gorgrous Z. Unfortunately the competition is fierce in this space. You can get a CPO (certified pre-owned) base Corvette with a super LS V8 for this money (or less) and I am confident the Vette is more reliable (long term) and alot more fun.
currently next to a white one right now and it is a nice car but I would still take a used GT-R
Sweet looking 370z! What body kit is that? It almost looks factory 👏🏽
The rear of this cars looks so 80's futuristic. Would love to own one since it is the closest I would get to driving something of the style of the N Vision 74
The black Nismo Z looks hot
Is there tension between these two? I feel it
Why not just buy the regular Z with a manual, and do some upgrades? Sway bars, coilovers, tires and a tune?
So you can have a slower, thirstier, more-pollutive vehicle for no real reason?
Or used m2 or corvette zo6 or c8 but main reason for these cars are cheap and reliable but now we have price competition with luxury brands
5:56 min - Yuri! 👍🏾
Please make a video of the JUKE NISM🔴 🔥
all these people here hating haven’t even drove one, its a great car, coming from someone that has one.
Jakubs Rolex Coke (I think that's what it is), goes well with the Nismo red stripes.
Good eye. I looked it up and yes, it's $12,995 , or $119 on Amazon
Pepsi 🥰
The launch control portion was hilarious to watch 😂
I think some silver wheels would look pretty good on this too.. It goes well with the badges
I’m sorry but a Z was meant to be the affordable sports car. Not a one butting heads with BMW’s M2 and Audi’s RS3 on price.
What makes it worse is the Z wasn’t and isn’t made to compete at those price ranges so obviously it’ll feel missed out on comforts and features. Let’s see the German duos standard/common equipment. Powered seats? Standard. Manual options? Yes. Not to mention leather everywhere and throw in the BnO/HK sound system cause why not. Overall, a a lot more premium feeling interior based on their respective brands other cars.
Price point is insane, but I must say this thing performs. When u hit that launch control right thing rips imagine on a proper tire
I'm surprised no tuner shops offer services to remove soft rev limiters. Whoever gets first to it will have some good money in their pockets.
After 12 years Nissan add only 70hp on the new z ?
It’s not a vq. It’s a vr. It’s twin turbo. Minor mods and your getting more power than any 370z would
I like the Pepsi hes wearing
Bring back the days when these cars were affordable and reasonably priced. This is a NISSAN not a luxury vehicle
✅ Yep, since 370Z at least, the cabin sound is digitized; ❌ Nope, 9:50 only the backrest is Recaro, the seatpad is Nissan
No wonder the seat pad sucks
At least it looks better than the standard version. But that is too expensive for what it is. Nissan just doesn’t have the money to do anything better.
Yes the front bumper look 1000% better
Somehow, the headlights look like Daisy Duck’s immense eyelashes to me with those round lines on both top and bottom. I prefer every other headlight from previous generations.
The fact it doesn’t rev in neutral is a L
Not being able to do a burnout is ridiculous too.
@@cbotten106 last good Z was nismo 370
Nearly $80k (CAD) is an astonishing error in MSRP. It's also why my father-in-law turned down the new Z when Nissan tried to push a couple on him and his dealership. Even $54k for a base 2024 Z Sport is too much and NO ONE buys them. Anecdotally, anyone interested in a Nissan sports car has come in asking about available 370Z instead of the 400.
Nissan is asking to much for new z nismo 80k. They can keep the Z for em self.
I love it. I'd still rather a 6G Camaro SS for that price, hell maybe even a used ZL1. But still, I like what Nissan has done here. I'm just glad they're still keeping it alive. Is it overpriced? I mean, yeah. But what ISN"T these days. Hope it finds success, truly. We need as many non-shitbox CUVs as possible.
You've become my favorite/go to car review channel. Thanks for all the fun content!
Also, can we get some new/more options in the sticker sections of your merch site? Who doesn't love stickers? Give me more
Nissan can make this car even cooler than anything else out there drop the GTR engine in this car and add a manual it will literally be the baddest car out there like reminiscent of the Dodge Viper. It’s not for everyone but those who knows that car realizes how awesome it is
Neither tbh. I won’t own a sports car if it doesn’t have a shifter. A good manual experience is part of the value prop for me. 🤷🏼♂️
Amen brother
Even with how overpriced the Nismo Z is, you're looking at a high miles, 5+ owner, heavily abused pre 2012 GTR for a similar price.
I love you too jakub ❤

Let me tell all of the American people something.
This is a Canadian channel, obviously it’s gonna be cheaper in the United States.
Some of these cars sell for 59-60k at cheapest.
If you don’t care about the frills, go for a base model or buy something like a ‘23 Scat or a used Hellcat.
I've seen around 25 cybertrucks in the wild and just ONE "new" Nissan Z.
Just saw you two on tv doing the Toronto Grand Prix grid walk. Thanks for the wave Yuri. Did you guys hook up with Hinch this year?
Give me the 370 z Nismo over this every time
Love the taillights, hate the headlights.

Maybe at $50,000, but $70,000 heck no. I can get a C8 Corvette for that price or a used Camaro SS 1LE used for $30,000 less.
