  • @gabrielpw

    Way more masking off than I ever do when blacking out emblems, Honestly if you do minimal masking its very easy to wash off wet plasti dip ( and even dry plasti dip with some force ) for whatever excess gets around.

    I'm still learning the Plasti Dip technique, thanks for sharing. Would there be any advantage of removing the grill assembly and applying the pasdtidip? Then reattaching the grill to the truck? I'm just wondering if there is any time saving or benefit that way.

    • @cartips5307

    • @cartips5307
      @cartips5307  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Jennifer’s Salsa thanks 😁 the plastidip works great on wheels, in fact it was designed for wheels at first and became popular and people put it on cars and trim now. People that go off road or on trails use it to protect factory paint in fact. So it’s very durable. Just very important to apply at least 8 coats if you ever plan on removing the stuff and going back to original color underneath. I think black wheels would look awesome 👏🏼

  • @AirMecca23

    My guy, love the Vid! If I did your plasti method, but wanted a gloss finish, could I apply a gloss coat to
    This? Or is there a gloss dip?

    • @cartips5307
      @cartips5307  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there absolutely is a gloss dip. It’s just a clear gloss plastidip in a can you can buy at Walmart. Carful though it’s a little more runny than the black dip but yea the more coats of clear dip u apply the more glossy it will be. U just apply it over your color dip.

    Probably the best video I have seen on doing a grille and lettering. Never knew the massive amounts of layers is what makes it peel off better. Thanks! So...Question: How is longevity and maintenance? Car washes etc? Do you have to hand wash only? Any input on things to keep in mind would be appreciated. Nice job!

    • @cartips5307
      @cartips5307  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everyman Gear thanks! I’m glad the video helped. Yea I always hand wash but after the plastidip fully cures it’s ok to take it through the car wash. To maintain it every year or two you can actually just add layers on top of the old plastidip as long as it’s clean and not greasy. So that way u only add 2 fresh coats and it’s good to go. Also they sell maintenance spray on dipyourcar.com so check them out.

    Thank you so much I’ve been wondering for months with this new plastic dip thing is about that I keep hearing everyone do...I truly had no idea now it makes sense👍🏻
    I will have to do more research obviously… And I’m wondering how it works out on older paint that’s maybe not in the greatest condition or has rough spots if it’s still going to remove perfectly after much time 🤔
    ....Wonder if this could be a quick temp fix for chipped spots so they don’t start rusting...that would be pretty awesome, You could protect it until you have time to deal with it and then peel it off....
    I think I’ll definitely be creating some stencil graphics & trying this stuff out!
    Open question to users of the stuff: What’s the price range on it? Where’s the best deal to get it from?
    🤔😏Could you add glitter? How many different colors and finishes does it come in....🤷🏼‍♀️
