@@RalphMayhewPhotography I’ve been using the gopro inside a wind slayer, on top of my outboard running in the 70’s mph with it. The windslayer truly is a great product.

@@sergio_veiga to get truly windless audio, turn wind reduction on. For just walking around in windy conditions, not in a motorsports environment, leave wind reduction off.

What’s your best way to deal with GoPro audio wind noise??
Thanks, this was a very useful comparison. I've found the Windslayers are good, but inevitably taking them on and off (which you'll have to do to get the SD card or the battery out of the GoPro) causes little tears in the corners, and once one of those tears gets to about 0.5cm, the wind gets in and it's effectively useless. For me this happens after about 6 months of using it, and I typically film with the GoPro 2 or 3 times a week. I assume this is part of the reason you get two, and for me paying £12 for about a year of wind noise reduction is well worth the money. It's just a bit frustrating each time I get to the end of that 6 month cycle and forget that even though it still looks roughly intact, it's not really working any more, and I often end up with at least one day of filming with bad wind noise.
Glad to hear they serve you well mate. I get what you mean with the tares. It feels as though they need a more durable lip to move over the camera 🤷🏼♂️
@@RalphMayhewPhotography Yea, in fairness I really don't have any better ideas! It would be interesting to hear how long these last for other people, maybe I'm doing something wrong? I should add that I tend to stuff the GoPro in a pocket between filming and maybe that is also contributing to the foam tearing?
Still, as I said, even if it does only last for 6 months (or 12 months for the pair) it's definitely worth the money.

The right test to do, was hoping to find OFF/OFF, OFF/ON, ON/OFF and ON/ON. Do you have this on GOPRO 12?
Thanks. You’d have to check with hsu. I’ve not got a GP12 but it would work the same I’m sure if it fits.
That's impressive! I'll have to order a set and see if it will fit with the gimbal. It seemed like having it on with wind reduction on helped with the "tin can" sound the wind reduction usually gives the audio. Did you mess with anything in post or was that all raw audio?
They’re really good. No didn’t change anything at all with audio. Not even volume 👍

I have no idea sorry. That was a couple of years ago. I’d suggest playing with both options to see which one works best for you.

Man I’ve just been blasting my mouth at this GoPro the last year with no external mic no lav, nothing. Idk nobody has said anything.🤷🏽♂️ maybe it’s time to ride the lightning with the slayer 🤘🤦🏽♂️
