Hi Mell and Amanda! Thanks for the live today. I think a monthly live stream would be great, especially if we could possibly submit some questions ahead of time. I notice that many questions could be answered by watching your videos so perhaps it could be worthwhile to link those videos once the video is posted? My question is: What are your thoughts about using multiple bond builders at the same time (both the same wash day and/or same time period)? Would you recommend trying one at a time or one brand at a time? I’ve tried the Curlsmith one, which I really like, but I’m also hoping to see if a different one might help in a slightly different way.

Hi Mell!! I missed you live today!! Ahh! But I do have to say I love the idea of monthly lives. I LOVE Verb ghost oil, it is the best oil. I have thick curly hair and I use this verb ghost oil daily for refresh and to seal out the humidity. I highly recommend it, fights frizz, doesn’t weigh down the hair, or make it oily. Love the video! ❤ Amanda your hairstyle is spectacular! Love it so much!

Hi Mell, Amanda and Anthony. Like the idea of a live. Would you consider doing one at 6 or 7 pm ET? Have you considered doing a video where you teach parents how to style their kids curls (or maybe a partner if someone is dealing with an injury). You were great about adjusting when you had your arm injury plus Amanda available that knows how to style. Most of us have figured how to bet style ourselves with your help but it’s another thing to try to get someone to help. Is there products for kids curls that you recommend?
I had a work meeting during the live and just caught up on the "live" video. I am a fine and thin curly and you had asked for fine hair feedback on Verb Ghost Oil.....it is absolutely perfect for me and my curls. I also use the Living Proof Texture Spray (Always on Day 2 unless I have an event on Day 1) and it works amazing wonders on my fine/thin curly hair and I highly recommend. I think so many of us struggle with it in every corner of the world. I think one thing that influencers nowadays are missing is properly building a connection by interacting regularly (albeit virtually ) with their audience and I think how you've managed to balance this together with honest sponsorships (and doing other influencery things on your channel that needs to be done as part of the job) has been very refreshing and great. Yeah that whole starting with a wet cut and finishing up when dry is what my last and current stylist do. Most of my hair is probably fine and pretty wavy but the canopy is courser and with a tighter curl pattern. That works for me.

I just got my first refill of the Verb Ghost oil, it's lasted well over a year and I use it every single wash day, it's so good. Treated myself to the gelfoam collab this time around too and so far enjoying the results, even though it is a much lighter hold.
Yep lol I sleep on my right side and the curls on my left side look SO much better always. Even though I do switch sides at night, it usually doesn't happen until the last hour or two of my sleep so the right side gets the most for sure. I will say the bonnet and silk pillowcase definitely help, but there's still just that little bit of difference. The curls on the left side of my head just tend to look a little more defined and bouncier.

But i Need help, i'm kinda hating my hair right now . its so frizzy, i cant find anything that helps apart from really strong gels, which makes my hair very hard, if i break the cast with oil the frizz just comes straight back. not sure sure what to do been slowly resorting back to straight. which i'm hating also, i love your videos you are the person who inspired me to try and get my curls back and healthy. i need heeeeeeelp ha ha

My question: Would you guys be able to do a video for top shampoo & conditioners (for assorted hair types)? I just recently discovered my hair and scalp issues were from my beloved (and expensive) Pureology hydrate s&c.. I've seen so many recommendations for ones to try and it's really overwhelming. That was the first set of s&c that made my hair feel really nice for years, I just never realized it was also what caused excessive shedding, thinning, and what appears to be seb derm. I have thick, coarse, predominantly wavy hair. Thank you sooo much in advance 🙏🏽

Also, wanted to know if different parts of your hair can have different moisture and protein levels? When I try to do the elasticity test, some strands break, some are normal, and some stretch and stretch. Would it be best to just continue to use some protein and some moisturizing products each wash day and deep condition day in order to cover each type of hair?
I def discovered Ghost Oil because of you! I notice it is a product that many people use even when promoting another line of products.

Hi Mell!! Loved the Q&A session!! Please keep doing them! I have a question I cant seem to find an answer anywhere or by anyone. First my hair is very similar to your sister's but a few inches longer and maybe a little curlier. It is colored purple with Artic Fox hair color and I've been coloring it this way since 2018. The color does not wash out of my hair so when I go to color the roots, I bleach the roots and color them fresh and then at the last 15 min I do a color refresh on the rest of my hair. It is healthy hair. I would like to know what I can do to/with/for my hair if I go into a swimming pool with chlorine to keep my hair from turning green. Your help is greatly appreciated!! Thank you! I have so many questions but let me focus on the ones that I’ve been mulling over lately.
1) So thanks to your Protein/Moisture Balance video, I actually created a spreadsheet tracking the moisturizing ingredient amounts to protein ingredient amounts to try and find a good balance. What would you say is the best moisturizing ingredient category? Conditioning Surfactants? Humectants? Emollients? Or Silicones? I have Fine Hair with loose to medium tight curls. So far, all I know is when I double up on proteins (using two products with the same protein ingredient like silk protein) my hair gets brittle but other than that, I haven’t found any other pattern to get the best P/M balance. I also live in the Sacramento Valley of California where it is DRY all year round. Something my skin and hair hates since I grew up and spent the first 2/3rds of my life on humid islands.

Great video! Lover of frizz here as my hair is fine/thin and is more wavy than curly-anything to make my hair look bigger and fuller I am down for! Does a quality hair dryer really make a difference in ones hair (better for hair health and styling)? And what are some good products for adding protein into ones hair? I am all natural with my silvers now, my hair is more dry and I wouldn't be surprised if I am lacking in protein-my hair doesn't seem to curl as much as it used to and for sure its more delicate. Hi Mell! I have a question, I refresh my hair daily with a little bit of gel mixed with water. During the day my hair is looking dry, feeling soft and falls flat. I don't know what to do🤷🏻♀️ My hair is wavy, it's medium porosity and medium length. My hair is color treated but that's about it. I've used strong hold gels, Light hold gels and even used a curl cream on refresh day but it looks like my hair just soakes it up😅 BTW I love your videos, been following for yearssss❤️ Love from the Netherlands🥰
Have you tried hemp seed oil on the hair? I bought some organic food grade help oil but I hate it. I keep it in my fridge and shave wjth it, lol. But if my hair could use it, that would rock.
I missed this live stream! It would be so awesome to chat w you girls every month. My question is for my hair loss girlies, is there anything that can help those of us who have lost/are losing a lot of hair? For me it started postpartum and I’m still BF so I’m not sure if it is related to those pesky hormones still lingering around. But my scalp is showing through and it is extremely embarrassing and discouraging. I have seen different types of supplements like the Bondi Boost ones or biotin, rosemary / peppermint hair lines , heard about minoxidil etc. but would really love to hear your take as a curly hair specialist. Mel!❤️ My hair is curl type 2-3a and it's very long, its almost past my butt. I define it by finger coiling but falls flat throughout the day, i tried creams and gels and tries not to use too much to not weigh it down, should keep trying different products or maybe just wear my hair as is? Cause i feel like its rough to do so much work for it to just eventually fall flat? Its also winter and im outside a lot, so that might not help much. I would love any advice❤️
2) Second question that I have been trying to figure out. What would you suggest as a good finishing serum for hair that doesn’t like to absorb oils? Or maybe I’m using too much products that my hair can’t absorb it.
Okay background information. I have two Aussie hair serums, the Miracle Curls Curl-Defining Serum (jojoba and coconut oil) and the Miracle Coils Serum (cocoa butter and macadamia nut oil). I’m fully aware the Miracle Coils is probably too heavy for my hair but I didn’t like having coconut oil in my finishing serum. While they work, the problem is that because my hair doesn’t absorb it, it causes my face to break out so after all that work on Wash day, I tend to spend the rest of my days with my hair up to keep my face happy. Which… what a waste right?
Any suggestions on other finishing serums or finishing products to seal in the moisture without breaking out my face?

Coo-Eee from Australia Mell. My brain is spinning. I am 60yrs in the making with medium density, high porosity, frizz prone, dry hair that only needs washing every 4-5 days. I am completely grey on top so I colour my roots (at home from a box) to my younger days colour of medium dark brown monthly. Which type of product should I be looking to buy...... products for damaged, frizzy or ???? Also, should I be applying other products pre & post to applying my permanent hair dye? Shanks Christine :)

Hi Mel! I have 2b waves on most of my head with very little frizz, but the hair that grows closer to my neck is completely different. Not only does it get more damaged, but it forms complete ringlets when wet, and is more coarse too. I have tried what seems like everything on these hairs, but they will not stay in their curl pattern for more than half of the day before they get unruly and fluffy. What do you recommend I do with them?

Any links or product recommendations for prepping hair for chemical damage ie. perm? I have naturally stick straight, flat to my head, fine hair. I have split ends up to my ears no matter what I do. I have chopped it off several times but every time I try to grow it out, I can't stay ahead of the splits... I started getting perms in 2020 to get big bouncy curly hair and I don't want to go back to my flat hair.. But My ends are terrible, ESPECIALLY the shorter hair around my face. I might end up just going short hair again and perming it (I love your short curly look)
Hi seeeesters! My hair takes forever to dry. I'll diffuse my hair for 45 min and it's still damp. Do you have any tips to help decrease dying time? For reference i have fine shoulder length hair and I'm using the Verb foam gel, and do a micro plop before I diffuse.
Question: about a really gentle color care safe clarifying curl shampoo and a lightwieght moisturizing color safe curl conditioner? Whenever I dye my hair red or pink (for instance) the curl shampoo's tend to fade the color even if its permanent. Any suggestions?

Hi Mell, I have a question. I have several cowlicks where my bangs should be. I cannot get my bangs to look nice. When they do curl it looks like one big fat ringlet.
