    Thanks men. I’ve got one with a i9 and cryotech and still ran a little too hot for my liking. I added a pull fan thanks to your instructions and it worked out great. Lower temps and quieter

      Glad it worked out perfectly for your i9! I was a little worried that they would still run hot compared to my i7. And to answer your other comment on the top exhaust fan, yes. My pre built one didn't come with one up there and I cant install one without the special mounting bracket so I actually robbed the 92 mm fan off the CPU cooler I took out and used rubber fan mounts to secure it to the air vent holes up there. Little small but should be just enough to keep the warm air at the back of the pc from being sucked back in the top.

    Very informative and really well produced! I happen to have an identical R13 inbound now from Dell myself so this is very timely for me. It seems that you're just getting started making content, and I wanted to encourage you to keep going. First off, you're blessed with a good sounding voice for this. Believe me that is important. You seem to be doing a voiceover, which helps with a major problem I see with a lot of new creators. That is, simply coming up with appropriate dialog. And you seem knowledgeable about your subject. One thing I would have liked to see is the actual connecting of the various cables to the logic board while you were installing the cooler and extra fan. I realize that they may be hidden under the cooler but perhaps you could have shown them at different points along the way. Again great job and I look forward to more in the future.

      Mine was supposed to arrive today, but I received an email a few days ago saying it was delayed. 😢 I haven’t had any luck finding the Corsair cooler you used (yet), but on the bright side, I have a couple of extra weeks now. Are you running Win 11 Home? I have already purchased an additional NVME 4X4 1TB drive along with a CD key for Win 11 Pro (only like $25). My plan is to take the 512mb drive out, and keep it as an insurance policy. Then use it as a second drive once I get the new drive fully ready to go.

      Sorry to hear that Jeff, when lookin on your order detail page if you click contact customer support and check order status it will bump your order up the list and hopefully get it out a little faster, mine shipped out 2 days early from this. The cooler must have sold out since I made the video but the one I used had to come all the way from amazon UK because I was not going to spend $100 just on shipping. Hopefully they get some inventory soon it blows my mind how Corsair is out of stock of almost everything they sell, ugh. I immediately upgraded it to windows 11 Pro so I could also use it for work. Keep me updated I am super exited for you to get to play with your new toy!

      No Problem, glad You liked the video! As for the mounting bracket you could try reaching out to dells customer support and purchase one over the phone using your computers serial number but no guarantees. Or you could rob one of the mounting brackets from the front of the computer and use it for the top exhaust since there are mounting holes in the front for a fan without the bracket. Probably what I will do myself soon, your question gave me this idea lol.

    • @pyrotekgaming
      @pyrotekgaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the comment Ali! I also plan to upgrade the case fans at some point with some Noctua Blacks. Under no load the new fans are extremely quiet I cannot hear them at all over the case fans. Under Full load it takes them about 30 seconds for the heat to build up enough that they even change tune at all but they still remain pretty quiet after that well under what the case fans produce under load. I Would be very surprised if they could be heard over even the upgraded Noctua fans when they ramp up. I performed another test just before writing this comment using 100 percent CPU usage and the core temp never got over 62 C. I don't think the cooler fans are even spinning at their max RPM's because this cooling configuration works so efficiently.

    Great video and well done. I'm considering buying the Aurora R15 with the 13900KF, 4090 and the Cryo-Tech cooler but now i'm not sure if that will be enough, lol. The new HP Omen 45L has a great cooling system because it is routed outside the case and it is a 360mm AIO.

    • @pyrotekgaming
      @pyrotekgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank You! The new Alienware R15 has received some upgrades to help with cooling by now using a 240 MM radiator at the top of the case instead of the 120 mm in the 13 & 14. They also added in a vent on the side panel for the GPU to get more air, but it unfortunately takes away half of your view in the the clear panel. After looking into the new HP Omen 45L case there is not a doubt in my mind that the separate cooling chamber for the radiator is going to outperform Alienware and help both the CPU and GPU temps by keeping the air separate. However, the new R15 might do just fine though with those new upgrades I just cant say that with 100% certainty because I haven't got to play around with them. Also, something to consider apart from cooling is Dells proprietary hardware. HP uses more standardized hardware so future upgrades and replacements are going to be much easier but it's totally up to your preference I'm sure you'll be happy with either. Thanks again for the comment and feel free to reach out to me on my Insta @pyrotek_gaming and let me know what you decide or ask more questions!

    • @pyrotekgaming
      @pyrotekgaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      It should support that RAM speed they have it as an option when you customize one. might have to manually change the MHz in bios after the upgrade to get the added speed out of them. As for the Cryo-Tech it should provide slightly better performance than the regular with better fans, thicker radiator, and a faster pump but I cant say how much better it actually is.

  • @95315782
    @95315782 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I actually recreated this build today on my R13 and have to say i'm impressed. I did change the fans you used to Noctua nf-a12x25 fans and my temps dropped from 100+ degrees to 55-60 on a sustained 100% load. The only issue I have now is that after a minute or 2 the overall temp in the case reaches 65 degrees which causes the case fans to spin up and generate a lot of sound. Doesnt help that there is no top fan on the original air cooled R13's... Btw this is on a I9-12900K with a 3080 TI. What do you recommend? Changing all case fans to Noctua's as well and including a top fan?

    • @pyrotekgaming
      @pyrotekgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome, and thanks! Honestly I cant believe they would even offer a i9 with anything less than the stock AIO, that's actually ridiculous. I would recommend setting the case fan profiles to quiet In AWCC if you haven't already and check out my latest video on adding that top fan into your system to help with airflow. Also, I should get another video out soon on adding a USB header to these computers so you'll be able to control the fan and pump speed of your AIO because that's gonna drastically lower noise under load since it wont just jump to 100% fan and pump on the AIO as soon as it hits like 65 degrees internal. As for swapping all the case fans I personally haven't tried this because I've heard sometimes it causes bios errors and sometimes it doesn't, and from the videos I've seen it only lowers the sound by around 5 decibels and raises temps since the stock ones have higher max RPMs. Keep me posted with the updates and good luck!

    • @95315782
      @95315782 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pyrotekgaming I did check out that video and added the leftover top fan to the system. (this fan also shows up as FAN MID in AWCC). Funny enough this is the fan that spins up the hardest, almost double of the RPM's than the other case fans. The AIO fans do not spin up as the CPU temp is fine now, it's really the case fans. When checking with HWMonitor I noticed that there is a linear connection to the case fans spinning up and the GPU temp rising. Might it be the GPU temp that is causing this increase in case fan RPM's?
      Also checked out swapping the case fans to non-dell-proprietary-ones and it does throw BIOS errors for each fan. They also become uncontrollable and just keep spinning at 100% so changing those will not fix anything.
      I changed my max temp for the GPU to 70 degrees celcius with MSI afterburner (which limits it to 50% performance) and did notice that the case fan's do not spin up that loudly, except for the top fan, which spins up to +-55% RPM.
      Are there ways to decrease the GPU temp from a hardware perspective? this would also result in lower noise and better GPU performance at lower temps.

      @@95315782 Sorry for the late replay I was gonna try and do some testing over the weekend but ended up never even powering on my PC. While I do think the graphics card is gonna have an impact on the case fans speed I wouldn't think the top exhaust fan would need to spin up that high. I even have a +10% offset on that fan normally on my pc and it doesn't get that high or loud. Your graphics card is very powerful though so it could just be putting out that much heat. Not much you can do about it unfortunately if that is really is the case other than limiting GPU power like you did or popping open that side panel for more fresh air. I guess one thing you could try just for fun would be to swap the AIO radiator over to the front top fan spot so there's 2 fans in the back to get rid of that hot air building up in the PC case but that's just an idea I don't know if it would actually make a difference. Best of Luck!

      Sorry for the late reply, check the amazon link for the ML120 fan in that videos description it shows some in stock and I think its the best option because its the only corsair fan that can spin at 2400 RPM's which isn't too far off the stock dell fans. As for the H60X I couldn't say for sure if it will work the same since the fans connect directly to the motherboard on that model and they discontinued the one I used. it can work though if you pair it with the USB header PCIe card I used in my other video plus a commander core XT. all of these things together will give a similar configuration and non stock dell fans that wont give errors since they're running off the commander and not the motherboard. Thanks for the comment! Any CPU cooling system upgrade you do will be better than the stock Dell cooler and as for liquid cooling it does better than air for spurts of performance as the liquid in the system can absorb more heat quickly and dissipate it without noticing any change in fan RPM's but under sustained loads the 120mm aio cooler and a good tower style air CPU cooler with have similar performance and you should be able to get rid of those FPS drops during gameplay. Incase anyone is having BIOS fan errors after doing this upgrade the reason I didn't have any errors in the video was because during the video creation I robbed the 92 mm fan off of the CPU heatsink and mounted it in the top air vent holes with the leftover rubber pins since I don't have the mounting bracket for a 120 fan. I did this as I just wanted some extra air flow since my computer didn't have a fan up their from the factory not knowing if I didn't do it Id have a fan error. The BIOS looks for a rear fan connection when utilizing the CPU Fan Header which I have the AIO cooler plugged into so if your computer is like mine and doesn't have a top exhaust fan you can get it working with no errors by installing your heatsink fan in the top exhaust area and plug it into the FAN_SYS1 header on the motherboard with a 4 pin fan connection extension or splitter since it wont be able to reach that far with just the fan cord. For those who's computer has that top exhaust fan you'll just need the 4 pin extension and plug that fan into the same fan header I mentioned earlier. The bios should no longer need a connection for the Top Fan header but if it gives an error run the BIOS diagnostic test and tell it to continue test if u get a fan failed test notification. Sorry for not including this information in the video I did not mean for it to be misleading in any way I just wanted to add a fan for extra airflow and it ended up being exactly what the system wanted.

      Happy to help! To upgrade the existing CryoTech cooler to push/pull this is all you should need: a fan, long screws, and a fan power splitter. In regards to the fan itself the one I used in the video (link in description) will work and its a good fan but it just comes down your personal fan preference like if you want additional RGB or maybe an all white fan but it could come with special problems I cant account for. Hardware you will need is this screw kit from amazon: www.amazon.com/Cooling-Radiator-Fitting-Mounting-Durable/dp/B096SQ5VZ7/ref=sr_1_4?key. And this fan splitter from amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B082H7DVRM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Using the long screws provided in that kit your gonna sandwich the fan between the existing mounting bracket in your system to the back of the radiator and use the fan power splitter to connect both the new and original fan to the CPU Fan header on the motherboard so both fans work simultaneously and at the same speeds(Also because I don't think there is another fan connection for it).That should be all you need for the upgrade, DM me on my insta @pyrotek_gaming and I would be more than happy to help further or answer any more questions you may have. The H60i seems to be out of stock all over the world so I'm trying this fix with the H60 instead, which is about half the price. Blows my mind that dell would sell a unit with only the baby fan cooler on an i9; they know it will not be enough to cool it. I agree with you 100% on those fortnite temps, unfortunately the only way to order the stock coolers is if you contact Dell and give them the serial number of a computer that originally came stock with one so unless you can find one on Ebay or know a friend who has one that would purchase one on your behalf and you reimburse them you'll have to go with something aftermarket like me. Even if you just upgraded to a tower style air cpu cooler you'll still get drastically better temps than what your currently seeing out of the stock air cooler that it came with. Great question Jason, the Alienware Control Center just shows that they are running at 100% even though they are barely even spinning because the fans are no longer plugged in directly to the motherboard. The cooler fans are actually very quiet since they can achieve the same cooling capacity as 1 fan running 2x as fast. I've yet to hear them spool up louder than the actual case fans when under load. Hope this answered your question!

      @@pyrotekgaming I got the similar setup as you (diff is GeForce vs AMD), so I'm glad I found your video, 90% of the other ones out there involves the already liquid cooled configurations. Since this is a Dell, and not some DIY put together build, I might as well whine to Dell about it first see what they can offer. Probably nothing much they can give me, maybe some coupon code. Then next might give your fix a try. I've looked into a better tower style cpu cooler, but afraid there isn't enough clearance with the case panel closed or might touch the other components around the CPU. I've already tried swapping the case fans, but I got BIOS warnings, so I reverted. Currently on idle, my CPU fan is giving me a whining sound every couple seconds, so very annoying, and goes up to 80C when gaming.

    • @pyrotekgaming
      @pyrotekgaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ugh, I actually would have preferred the Nvidia card but I guess the AMD gets the job done. That was my concern too with a big air cooler, it actually would have been pretty easy to see if it fit by measuring the dimension of the cooler in the case but I just wanted to try my first AIO cooler. And it actually keeps the CPU cooler than in my other setup with a older gen I7 with a big dual fan cooler master tower. Downside is lifespan though, mechanically there's nothing that can wear out on a tower cooler other than the fan but the lifespan of an aio cooler is like 3-7 years depending on how well its cared for.

      @@pyrotekgaming hmm...good heads up about the longevity of these AIOs. Guess I'll go back to find the best tower cooler. Heck any aftermarket cooler would probably do better than what we're given. I actually cut chopsticks up to the height of a few of these coolers, and was going to try to see if it'll fit with the side panel closed. So height-wise should be ok. I'm more worried if the tower cooler would hit that heatsink that's on the motherboard on top of the CPU. Dell gotten back to me and told me to call them about it, I'll give them a ring after work, see what they'll say.

But after crunching some numbers, the R13 is still a better deal. Building the same spec by parts will cost significantly more. Taking your note about lifespan of AIO, I've decided to get the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE. Seems to be the smallest of the tower type dual fan of the ones I can get my hands on. I've measured and it should just barely fit (according to specs at least). Hopefully will work out. Will update once I get it.

That plus the extra side vents for the GPU to get air through the side panel your gonna have better cooling potential stock in that system than any r13 or 14 even after upgrades. I’d give it a test running some usual game titles or software your gonna normally be running and see how it does, it should be able to handle it.
