    Thanks a BUNCH!!! My initial upgrade were the front and top fans. I saw an improvement. However, adding the CORSAIR H60, I now idle at 38C and reach 49C under load!

Just ordered my H60 but I have never installed something like this before so this clear step-by-step video is super useful. Much appreciated!

      I made the same mistake :/ first day with my new set up and I’m running at 93c just playing a little Warcraft, Ryzen says the new chips can run hotter but I just down like it, plus the fan blowing like crazy is annoying

    I got the R12 at best buy and there is no cooling option under 2000 dollars so i ordered this water cooler and dual channel ram. Thanks for the video. I was glad to see you didn't have to remove the motherboard to install a new bracket. I was hoping for that. Much easier. Thanks for the video.

      @@jakobyunknown I will be performing this process on my Intel i9, Air cooled CPU to Corsair H60 AIO w/ likely within the next 30 days, I've ordered the cooler and the VRM heatsink, now just looking at fan options. Lots of research is required and my go through at it will be the latest to date of someone doing it so I'll try to put together something to share to help others, at the very least a long comment explaining how it went.

    if anyone is planning to buy this pc, make sure to go with the liquid cooling option. otherwise the cpu runs way too hot and the pc is too loud

      I find my R10 (5900X CPU) a bit loud even with the liquid cooling (perhaps my old machine was just really quiet...). I have a 6800XT GPU as well and it's not what I'd call quiet either... A little bit of fan noise while gaming aside, I love the computer and would absolutely buy it again.

      ​@@kevinsowards9647 I think I'll have to go that route, eventually. At the same time, I don't want to give up any front panel I/O, and the R10 has a pretty solid front panel port config. I looked at the Lian-Li Dynamic O11-XL, I'll definitely look at the NZXT options as well.

Well I wanted to build a rig but since the market it all messed up and gpu price skyrocketed, I figured I just get a pre built. So I had 2 good options for my price range and they both got sold out.. and this R10 Ryzen 7, with a radeon 5700 was in sell for 1,250.. so I'm stoked.. saw alot of good reviews. Only issue is the ventilation from the sound of it. So I feel I didn't do to bad lol.

    My R10 runs at 90-95c any time I'm in a game and at 75-80c at idle. I'm going to see if I can install an H60 today. Thanks for sharing this with us!

      Yeah, It is really rediculous temp for this PC, I stronly recommend you are going to change as early as you can, otherwize will reduce the CPU lifetime as always runing high temperature.

      @@ironytech3443 I replaced my fan with an H60 + PL120 this afternoon and I'd say on average 25c lower in games and at idle (50c at idle and 70-75 in games). I know they say it should be lower but honestly I'm happy to be pushing 240 FPS and not being at those crazy temps. Thanks again!

    Nice! I am planning to install the cooler as well for my new R11, I was wondering how difficult it was to take the top case cover off like you did without breaking it lol? Did it have alot of resistance when you pulled it off?

      Well, You just force a little pull out is ok, don't need to give much presures, if you afraid to break that, one tip is that, you don't need to take the top cover and then able to install the liquid cooler from inside, so do it without take top cover is ok, no problem.

    another option folks is deepcool gammaxx l120 v2. Works perfect in my R10 Ryzen edition. no issues with Fan/bios. cost me $60 CAD

      @@haoxianfeng9117 yes except for I had to get rid of the metallic "box" where you suppose to insert the AIO, I only used the plate with 2 screws to attach it. Better airflow. I got Ryzen 7 3700, so now my temps are around 75C under load. with aircooler were 90c

    Just FYI: Dell uses a CPU mount close to LGA115x for AMD. Also if you plug into the Pump header it will trigger a BIOS error unless you order VRM heatsinks from Dell.

      It’s absolutely working good and much better than stock fan, but it still can’t good reduce temp, u had better to look H80i v2 if u wanna more cool for CPU will be more better than H60

    If you mount the intake fan in the place of the top HD bracket the results are really good, i had to do it as my Gigabyte RTX3070 Vision would not fit otherwise :) i am getting normally 40C CPU and GPU on idle and mid 50'sC CPU & CPU while gaming, this is with stock fans and stock liquid cooler, I am going to install Corsair ML120 Pro soon, but i just built my aurora so i can enjoy it a little bit before i dismantle it again. Please bear in mind i use Ryzen 3600 which is only 65W. I also don't have any HDD only SSD

      ML120 are definitely quieter, but still audible, i sandwiched radiator with two of them and also installed intakenone in the place of HDD

    I just bought a mid tier R11 (i7/RTX 2070Super) without liquid cooling and it does tend to make a racket under load but the temps never exceed the mid 80 degree range on the CPU while the 2070 seems to vent quite well. In retrospect, I think I would have gone liquid with this R11 but know I'm too damn lazy to attempt the swap you have going... it's a lot of bloody work and you can be guaranteed a few things will be either too short, missing or incompatible :)

      how is yours holding up? i just put an msi rx 6600 in mine, and my cpu temps have been hovering near where yours were. its got me debating upgrading to liquid cooling. of course i bought mine used from a family member, but it was never used very hard. just trying to make sure i dont stress it anymore than it may have already been

      Well, There is no extra screw to solid the radiator, but fortunely the radiator size fit into the fan cage very tightly? so i didn't screw radiator to the cage., if you think feel distressed ? Then you can buy 4 crew to assemble radiator to cage.

    I love my R11 but noticed the CPU temps were awful. Dell shouldn't sell these with air coolers, the case layout is designed for liquid cooling. I have this part coming tomorrow and hope that it will work well. Thank you!

    My r10 comes in the next few weeks, I got myself a different fan so Corsair fan, I was wondering if it's easy to add a second intake fan. And do you need splitters to do this? I did not order with a hard drive. Only a ssd. I'm just worried I'll break something if I try to do this method. I could've sworn I've hit the water cooled option. I guess I didn't cause on the final paper, it says smart cooling.

      Yes it is, very tied space, but be able to double GPU as long as size same with original GPU

      @@ironytech3443 I don't know about Radeon, Nvidia 10 series, 16 series, 20 series, RTX 3060 & RTX 3070 cards but at least the RTX 3080 & RTX 3090 are custom cards made by Alienware so it would be impossible to get a new second card of the same brand. Is it ok to be different brands? If not, then you'd need to get two cards and you could easily sell your card to someone with an Alienware R8-R11 who wants to upgrade or someone else who wants to do dual card lol (although you should always keep original parts until the warranty period expires).
      Also keep in mind that you need to make sure your GPU is under 276mm (~10.5") in length and under 118mm in height to fit the case. Those are the size maximum specs as I was told by Alienware for the primary GPU. I do not know if the secondary GPU would be different.

    What about the VRM heatsinks? The air cooled mobo's do not come with them. Wouldn't you run into major problems with the 2 heatsinks that dell provides with their water cooler?

      This is good questions, You are right there is no VRM heatsink if you choose options of aircooler, but i think VRM quality not too bad for this MB from factory coz Alienware originally launching for Over clock features.
      just in case i already sitck the thermal pad on my VRM in order to get good performance. ^^

    Great video. Can’t believe Dell even gave the option for air cooling. I went air to save money for other upgrades. Two questions. One, the air cooling it shipped with sounds like I’m at the worlds largest airport. Will this help with noise? Two, was the case in this video the R10? I have the R10 AMD Ryzen 7 3700X version. Will the H60, as shipped, fit this AM4? Also, can this H60 fan be swapped? Thank you

      Yes, this is my R10 Ryzen7 3700x serise, yes the H60 be able to reduce the noise than before as well as will reduce the temperature. Yes H60 fans able to swapped the others as long as 120mm size of fans

      @@ironytech3443 Thanks for the video. Got my H60 yesterday. Slapped it in in about 30 minutes. Only thing I did differently is I pulled out the top fan housing rather than popping the top of the case off. Mounted the radiator and fan in the housing and then the placed it back and screwed it in. It was a pain, but every time I pull on plastic lids, I end up breaking shit. So I did it that way instead. Your choice of the anchor screw size to the motherboard was spot on. Very valuable information. My R10 is finally quiet and never above 82c under heavy load. Thanks again. Glad I seen your video.
      Edit: can’t believe Dell even offer this build with an air cooler. I figured they new what they were doing and put that money towards upgrading elsewhere. End of the day, I ended up paying for liquid anyway.

    On another video I saw that the person kept the black metal housing for the radiator, and here it seems you do it without, Im curious. Does it just actually snap into place and stays held together? Because if so then I will be extremely joyful to know that.

      I don't understand what you mean about metal housing? u mean the cage? normaly the cage originaly stay insite the pc case, yes you just snap into the cage and will held together them self becoz H60 size is completed fit this cage. hope this anser will assist you.

      I didn't replace front fan yet, and fan noise is acceptable as long as you fixed fan RMP around under 30%? will be good.

      No, Not necessary remove top panel. absolutley you can install the radiator from chassis inside without remove panel.

      I don’t think so. I installed one h60 to replace top fan as well as cpu fan only. There is no space install scone fan to there.

    In 7:22 how is it that you’re having the fan and radiator stay to the top? When I follow what you did exactly that part is loose and falls down if I move it too much. Is there something you screwed to keep the radiator and fan connected to the cage for the top area of the Alienware?

      It weired, Are you sure you use the H60 Liquid Cooler? No i don't have any Screwed to keep radiator coz it is completely tiet into the cage then i don't need crew that, however if your radiator really loose from top cage, you have use extra 4 crew to fix radiator with cage after remove top cover.

      @@ironytech3443 ye I’m positive, it’s the same exact thing as I’m seeing in the video. It’s not loose but if I did, just a tug of the radiator and it moves down a bit. Right now it’s staying still at the top. I’m just scared it may fall down while inside

      @@ancianooo17 So i recommend screwed use the extra 4 screw to fix your radiator into the cage from top, this is just in case prevent radiator drop down future.

      Well, I am sorry to say that i don't have the oringinal watercooler to compare with this corsair H60, but I think if you ordered opntion watercooler from factory you don't need to change H60 coz if you think fan loud? you just turn down the fans speed to low is ok.

      @@julianakers390 Well, As my experience, when i connect liquid cooler to the AIO port of motherboard will warning not be able to pass when started with error message, Make sure connect H60 to the Top fan port of mother except you use orginal liquid cooler.

    I've had my Aurora R11 for two days. It's sad I'm having to find videos like this after dropping all that money, but it just overheats too much when I try to stream. Only when I try to stream. I can play my games, or do anything else on it all day with no problems at all, but when I try to stream it overheats to the point it just shuts my game off after 5 mins every single time. Pretty sad, and frustrating. Now I have to drop more money.

    Just got R10 with rtx 3060ti with alienware 34inch curve monitors 120hz. im also upgrading to that cpu liquid cooler the stock sounds like a jet engine playing game😂.

      If you bought AIO water cooler with Desktop from factory then i don't recommend you to change H60I, coz stock water cooler will be powerfull thant H60I, excep very noise coz original water cooler can adjust fan speed. H60I Can't although it is very quiet. and if you bought stock air fans from factory like me, then for sure H60i much better. ^^

      No bro, Normally put thermal paste on CPU, not on cooler. But do not paste a lot, just a little is ok. Recommend watching the TH-cam video how to paste thermal paste before u work.

      Yeah, coz u connected fan power to the AIO pump port, choose other one will solve the problem.

    Any way to get it to stop the supportassist pre boot system performance check? It takes a minute to scan and then says the cpu fan failed to respond correctly. I can continue from there and the computer works fine. Just annoying every time you start up having to wait

      Idk if this is works? but you can try to check mark off go into the setting with automatically scan.

      @@ObiJUANcanolli I pretty much tried everything, but it seems like unless you buy their heat sink and install it under the water cooler, it will just always give you that error. It takes 2 minutes to scan before it lets you thru to the boot up.
      My Temps went down from high 80s to high 60s, I changed the case fans to the 120mm corsair ones too, but a few days later my PC bricked and I sent it back to dell. Don't think it was related to this, but I was relieved to send it back so I could get one with the right cooling system lol

      @@Mustardhat this is no longer under warranty but I'm now worried i may face the same dilemma you went through. I went with noctua redux fans. I put the corsair fan aside.
      That's funny you dropped from 80 to 60 because my temps were the same. I ran cinecench with stock cooler, 80-90. With h60 and noctuas I went no higher than 65.
      Leaves me wondering what I might be able to get out of a small oc

      @@ObiJUANcanolli I think changing the case fans is just for noise, the water cooler was the main thing that brought the Temps down. Honestly If I wasn't able to return it I would have probably just waited until I could afford a new setup and just take the graphics card from the alienware and sell the rest for parts. It stays hot because the case is shaped so strangely there isn't much room for ventilation, sadly they're one of the only options for pre-built that don't take months to arrive

    Is the H60 better than the one that Alienware offers because I got theirs liquid cooling and my GPU runs around 82C-84C kicking the fans very loud to reduce the temps cpu around 75ish when gaming high end games I’m thinking about replacing the fans as I’ve read they’re not very good . As they get very loud...

      It is hard to say how big difference between H60 and Dell original liquid one, coz i didn't use original one. but as my experienced H60 is really quiet as well as i can't hear any noise of fan even kicking the fans run very quick with stress temp under 75c.

    我啥同样的机型换完h60之后依然会飙到80度呀,一开始是65度左右,然后玩cod16半小时就到了80度,我用原厂风冷也不过85度,是散热器的问题么?求解答

      三A游戏, 玩的时间久了确实会升到80,但是最多80了,不会再高,原厂风冷可以到90°或者以上了,而且会很吵,但是水冷会好些,这个貌似没办法的

      还有一个办法是可以降压一点,我平时4.05频率给个1.1v的电压,温度又降了很多,而且性能没啥区别,也是一个办法,仅供参考,超频有风险,设置需谨慎。

      @@user-ci7wp2si8e 这个目前没有风冷解决方案,因为上面有电源压着,根本装不了那些好点的风冷。 还有一个办法是,把现在的Cosaire水冷的风扇,换掉原厂Topfan,也就是说H60的水冷上面加原厂戴尔风扇,这样你是可以调节风扇的rpm,虽然会吵,但是也降低不少温度。

      It's weired, Are you sure the error get from CPU? not a AIO pump?

      @@ironytech3443 no, I Just put the connector pin into the cpu fan socket pin rather than the pump socket. done stress test and the pump works fine being plugged into that

      U gonna connect liquid fan cable to the MB cpu fan port, don’t connect it to pump port, otherwise will give error

    wait a sec....you put the fan on the inside of the radiator..im seeing other people putting the fan on the top of the radiator where its at the top of the case...what is the difference?

      I think it doesn't matter the fan placed inside or topside of radiator, but most impoertant that make sure the heat air must be absorbed from inside to out side for this case.
      BTW, normally the people will install the fan to the outside or topside of radiator when you wanna absorbs new fresh air to the case inside.

      Yeah, Most important that you gonna be disconnected the CPU cable of Motherboard, then you will easy to install the radiator, outherwise wil stuck radiator when you are installing
