The driver is very important in off-road
Exactly. The casual idiots will always blame the equipment first.
the line too
Facts🤦🏻♂️
Yes sir
Yes skill important,not car
"If you want to climb a mountain take a jeep
If you also want to come back take a toyota"
- A wise man
If you want to do that on a daily basis take a thar
@@arifzain6844❤
And If you wanna do that while kidn*p*ing some one take omni
@@arifzain6844 why would someone use a underpowered thar. Just use a FJ cruiser or a 4 runner because it has more power and more reliable engines
🤣
Both did well but I would take the Toyota any day.
Exactly
If the Toyota had better tires it would’ve been a lot closer
The problem was the driver@@michaelhoffman8309
El Toyota no trae doble eje como el Jeep y se comportó de manera aceptable...
Jeep nesse caso foi melhor
They both did well but id rather pick the jeep if i may to select.
Mee.im the king..I can just walk and climb at first attempt in less than 20 sec 😅
where can i buy you?
😆😆😆😆
He wants to buy a human Yoshi
Exactly!!
@@honderaccordhell nah, you're about to get the 18's back💀
Depends on the Nms Low range, driver, tyre type, tyre pressure, etc.
Not just the brand.
This is FJ Cruiser (which discontinued by Toyota and with an average ground clearance) and not Toyota LandCruiser or Hilux.
I would go for Toyota.
How they started the drive without understanding the job, just changing the driver could make the difference.
Toyota 100% .. i love jeeps but toyota is the best and is been for so long .
best at driving to the mall sure.
If you get it done, it doesn't matter. But I'll take the Toyota for it's reliability everytime
Depends on the driver, then equipment. Obviously lockers, low tire pressure w/ side plates, maybe lighter pieces of armor. At a guess.
Much respect to the drivers !
TOYOTA FJ👍
TOYOTA 👏👏👏
FJ-40 is better.
@@diegosilang4823Your comment is irrelevant. FJ-40 is a classic but why even mention it lol
ありがとう日本人として嬉しいです。❤
Jeep : I'm damn good in offroad💥
Toyota : I can go anywhere 💫
The right thing to ask, which one will run for 300,000 miles / 500,000 km, and that’s the Toyota. But you already knew that.
El jeep también...
@@janethbeltransaenz9662yours?
I’m at 300k and going strong. Could probably go for double now. 3.7L naturally aspirated.
Really I’ve been a Jeep tech for over 20years I’ll put any 4.0 inline six up against any Toyota will see who’s King and as per miles I’ve see 4.0 well over 300k
@@85Stang331 For sure, but will the rest of the vehicle las as long as the engine? I am in the Northeast, and Jeeps rust a lot more here than Toyotas.
I would take the Toyota FJ Cruiser any day!
Tires & lockers are everything
the line matters the most! they were not able to make it at the right corner
Including the right air pressure, so it should be around 25 psi to increase grip and bitting power
Don't forget drivers
@@2010dalailama I'd take it down to 12-15psi tbh. Any lower than that you risk busting a bead without beadlocks
The jeep is king off road here, if the Toyota had a solid front axle then it would be a level playing field…
The one with brand new a/t tires at this point
They both have similar MT tires with similar wear and aired down similarly. 😊
@4WDisLife
Minescule differences between vehicles.
My version of off roading is taking my dirtbike on a hitch carrier on my suv to the alberta rocky mountains. You gotta go atv or dirtbike if you want to experience true off roading and is finnest!
It depends on a driver
@@4WDisLifenot all MT tires are made equally, the amount of tread depth on the Toyota looks like it has newer tires or with deeper grooves that bites on edges of the rocks to get grip. The Jeep tires as you can see gets mud build up but doesn’t clean off as it should with deeper or wider groves of tread pattern. Also, I don’t think the Jeep driver knows what he’s doing. You can tell coz giving it gas and ramming its way up off that first little edge shows his inexperience. Also the Jeep didn’t air down enough as he’s suppose to, the Toyota did. You can see it in the flex of the tires.
@@4WDisLifeyou can see the tread on the side but it’s hard to tell about the rest of the tire
Both did good but a rubicon would have done so much better . Especially a short wheelbase one .
Both did well. Was all about the skill in this case as both driver had configured their cars just fine for the task. Well done 👏
Semua 4x4 terbaik tapi perlukan driver yang pakar yg boleh mengendalikan kereta dalam keadaan yg sulit sekalipun
I think the Fj is lifted 4" and has better tires. Not a good comparison, but fun to watch!
Lots of things matters in off road. Driving skills, tyre types, tyre air pressure, ground clearance, tyre base distance and accurate functional usage.
Not to mention a gut full of grog 🍻
Jeep ❤
Toyota will always be better in the long run.
My 30 year old Jeep disagrees with you
Wheelbase among other things makes a difference .106vs 118 ,I’m a big fan of Jeep but owned more yotas ,they are both very capable machines with the right driver and equipment. If you Follow both for a full day on any trail head they will both go back and forth on who can manage each obstacle easier ,there is so many variables I don’t think you can really declare one superior over the other. As far as reliability ,I’ve seen both last and both break due to inferior parts from the factory and maintaining your vehicle properly prevents most of the premature failures .
For sale lightly used never been off road. Just one owner and driving by an old lady
Jeep is generally going to be the better option for off-roading.
In this though they didn’t take the same approach. The FJ tried multiple times to get over it, the Jeep spun its tires and went up the side. Different approaches, equal different results.
That being said, I prefer Toyota. I don’t off-road and I value reliability. That’s why I have a 4Runner.
Straight off road I’d rather have the jeep. Daily driver Toyota.
The jeep had to take a way easier path on this section but sure you keep that bias 😂
@@ryan8893 you keep that cultist opinion..
I found all the Toyota fan boys. Looked for you guys in the mountains and down the rivers, but you where all at home on your phones 😂
TOYOTA is king 👑❤❤❤
I owned a 2020 Wrangler and I liked it a lot. I didn’t have any problems, but then again I sold it after a few years and very low miles because I sold it for more for it than I paid for it, and I bought it new.
That's unheard of.
@@lorenzosmith5932Covid times. Where you under a rock. Many cars went up 20% or more during Covid. New cars weren’t being made so used cars went sky rocket in price. Some went up 50%.
Depends on approach angle and tires too
It was the same. They both were able to climb once the shifted all the way over to the left. When they were in the middle the front tires were trying to climb a step and couldn't find traction
Si pueden ver la FJ Cruiser donde empezó y esta mas feo porque la Jeep un lado donde va el chofer agarro mas tracción y pues ahi se ve mi FJ Cruiser que chulada Toyota
Lots of things matters in off road. Driving skills, tyre types, tyre air pressure, ground clearance, tyre base distance and accurate functional usage.
That’s the reason why FJ was halted in production! No more FJ so many issues of course you don’t know this. Quality is bad and not selling well.
I will take the Jeep overall, but FJ for reliability. Jeeps' flexibility and configuration is more appealing. If Toyota brings back the FJ-40 flexibility, sure a winner.
This is Tip Top at Rausch Creek. I have done this obstacle many times in my Power Wagon no sweat. Solid axles for the win, so I vote Jeep. I cringe every time I see an IFS hopping and spinning tires on a ledge like this. Waiting for that signature bang of the CV exploding and ball bearings ejecting.
The jeep basically took a bypass. Watch it again.
Not quite. You really have to be skimming along the trees to do the bypass. Anyway, my comment was that I would trust the Jeep to not break. That Jeep needs bigger tires and a lift.
Jeep
"Toyota Fj Japanese Masterpiece"
All 4x4 are amazing. It all comes down tires, skills and mood 😂
Unfortunately, there aren't many 4x4s. There are only 2x4 in reality. Rarely do "4x4" have lockers they might have limited slip. It's usually 1 up front and 1 in the back. Not true 4x4. Speaking from experience... 2001 XJ on 37s Ford 9in rear and Dana 44 front fully E locked. 1943 MB Willys on 37" with 10.5 rears with Dana 60 fronts. Also fully locked with air. Plus all the bells and whistles. Both drab olive with five point stars on the hoods.
Toyota is the real king 🔥🔥❤
As a Toyota guy, he only won because he is a better driver. IFS will always be a compromise off-road
Too much air in the tires, air down to 15 PSI at least
Both are King for this kind of terrain.
1. Get a new driver
2. Lower the tire pressure
3. Follow #1 because that’s the most important.
One’s a good brand. The other is a Jeep.
It depends on your off road driving skills.. i like both jeep and fj cruiser
The one that cost less and is paid for is the only real winner.
Maybe think about lowering the tyre pressure would help alot stop the underside damage
Watch out that jeeps transmission was made in a barbie factory
Without a doubt, master of rock climbing in off roads is jeep wrankler
Car ❌ Driver✅
Driver!! They chose the best line earlier on the Jeep vs the Toyota
Toyota
Toyota will be my choice. Its not that expensive as jeep but still do the same task.😊
😂Driver is king
Both are hero's, but the real hero iñ off road is an experienced Driver
Jeep was back to the shop for repairs after that one.
I am driving fj here in Japan since 2016. Never take it to any rough road, what i can tell is you never need any repair.
Jeep > Toyota all DAY! Tinkerer kept taking the hard line. Jeep was smarter.
So how does the driver of the Jeep being “smarter” make the Jeep better?
I think the question was which vehicle was better, not which driver was smarter..
They are both outstanding off road vehicles.
Some people dont know how to drive when it comes to Offroading...
That's it !
Said the same 😅
You must be a truck driver, I know I'm one and I had to listen to that crap all day everyday and every time I got a chance I drove circles around they pple saying he don't know how to drive.
Depends a lot like tires, weight, off-road experience; but I’d say the Jeep did better.
toyota cause you didnt show the whole video....another 10 miles and the jeep has broken down (common) and the toyota drives by....thats why toyota is KNOWN for their Reliability and Quality
Do your dad vehicle production broke down after 10 mile? I have a jeep a toyota but toyota breakup regularly than the jeep i don't know whether this is called reliability.
@@totoitekelcha7628 lol well my brother has a jeep Rubicon and it's more days in the shop then working..every month at least.... my Toyota has never been in the shop except for oil changes...so again...every manufacturer makes lemons...but toyota makes less of them

Land Rover defender is best offroader compare to Jeep and Toyota❤❤❤❤❤
Wrangler did better and is still off road king, but the FJ will last longer.
Debatable
Look at his username……..
Both took same line that worked but others they couldnt. Difference is the Toyota driver wasnt just putting his foot down and hoping for the best
Momentum is King….
FJ cruiser is first one more powefull vehicle 🥰🥰👍👍👍
American car is the same to Chinese car😅
Worst
Chinese are doing very well nowa days
Japanese….and no, Jeep will never match Toyota
😂 no nooo!!
The fj is an amazing piece of equipment, but I'll take the wrangler any day
My 01 civic could do that
I am sure it can

My 01 Civic with a flat tire could do that.
😂😂 wake up, man, wake up
@@petemiller519😂😂 I can do it with a bicycle 🚲
It depends on the driver. Not on those overkill vehicles.
I know people love Toyota and they make good cars too but when it come to offroad and especially Rock crawling no company can beat JEEP.
I'll take my 2002 Nissan Xterra over both of these. Thing is a beast and has never left me stranded
every one is king until range rover enters
Range Rover sucks
Mahindra Thar 4X4 is the killer of them all ❤ #Mahindrathar 🇮🇳
I like Forever Jeeps 😉 but I’ll stick with Rubicon . Hands Down, JEEP!!!!!
Both third attempt claimed
But tire is big in Toyota with better suspension
Both are kings in my book,it depends on the driver if he knows what he is doing!
Literally just the line. Both got up after slid into the right line.
It was the path that made a big difference.
Toyota for sure, but I also feel like Toyota had off market better suspension which was an edge
King is always Jeep Wrangler Rubicon ❤ ✅🔥 Because it's conquered that rock in just 3 attempts, but FJ conquered in 4 attempts..
IT'S ABOUT TIRES, GROUND CLEARANCE AND PICKING THE RIGHT LINE 👍
Tinkerer is a gift to the community
From a none biased opinion. The jeep didn't have to restart and back up 2 or three times to do the same task. Jeep wins hands down
Remember the engine size of Jeeps are 5.6 liter usually.
Also specialist in off road so at least this is expected.
They both got the job done… difference in lift height and tires should be considered.
From a guy who owned both, in rock climbing the wrangler is superior & the fj with more experience can keep up. but jeep is unreliable and brakes down a lot.
Jeep just for its performance and looks 🔥
Owned both, had a lot of front-end problems with my toyota after 4-wheeling. Also, when you compare tires and tire pressure is important or you are comparing apples to oranges.
The longer wheelbase of the JL decrease climb and descent angles. Both capable Rigs, SFA is superior off-road, IFS superior on road which is 99% of the time. Removable tops makes a difference. In the jeep. Reliability gives to Toyota.
I like the looks of the Toyota better and I trust the Japanese engineering over Chrysler. When Chrysler decided to put the 3.5 L V6 minivan engine in the Jeep I was sad. I really liked the in line 6 cylinder 4.0 ltr.
I think 🤔 both are good but I choose Toyota for reliability
Both are great off-road vehicles. However, on ground clearance, the Toyota has the advantage. In this comparison, the jeep look as if it didn't have the proper tires for off road 🤔🫡
The Jeep will likely be more capable offroad but its engine and parts will break down faster. The Toyota will last you forever. It's called "reliability." It is an aspect in which Jeep will always be indebted.
Toyota has tires with larger treads, Jeep has smoother treads. That makes the difference.
It’s funny how neither one could make it up until they both took the same line which was far to the left, the easier line.
Had a pretty nice FJ... until I had to get rid of it since the undercarriage was so rusted I thought it was gonna fall apart.
Both of them the king
It’s not a fair game. Observe carefully, Toyota climbed from tuff spot, but Jeep went to complete side at a spot where it was little easy. It’s Toyota always😊
