Test it with all the games "it can't run". Like you do with AMD GPUs; using the most inappropriate settings for the hardware. What about the most core count reliant benchmark you can find?
another reason why NPC's is heavy on CPU is because when they move, their mesh changes and deforms. the CPU has to calculate the position of the vertices (where multiple faces meet).
It's not misleading when people claim the 9800x3d and 7800x3d beats a 14900k. AMD shills will show benchmarks of an intel cpu at stock speed and claim AMD outperforms intel, but that's not true. I've owned a 13900k, 14900k, 7800x3d, and 9950x. Intel wins across the board for gaming and productivity.
@@brendanhuffman1339 Nonsense. Both cpu's at stock the 9800x3d is 30% ahead in games. You think overclocking your cpu and ram is making up for a 30% deficit? Not even close. And that's using more than double the power. Intel shills are shameless.
@@mojojojo6292 well they're clearly doing something wrong. I don't gain anything from lying about this, they do (paid to make their products look better). I've used all of the cpus I've listed for gaming and productivity. I've done timespy to benchmark all of them and all the AMD cpus score lower than intel 13th/14th gen.
What a hell of an upgrade. Putting the cache on the bottom must have done something. If the zen 6 3d has the same increase then we wont need another cpu for a looong time.
I’m sure game developers will keep creating games that demand more power 😄. The progress never ends - unless we enter another CPU stagnation period where (this time) AMD stops making significant improvements to CPU performance simply because Intel is no longer a threat.
Putting it on the bottom helped, but the real issue is that the Zen 5 compute chiplet seems to be bottlenecked by the I/O die it uses, which is the same I/O die (chiplet) used on the Ryzen 7000 CPUs. The extra cache clearly helps to alleviate this bottleneck, because the 9800X3D is able to significantly out-perform the 9700X in non gaming applications, achieving superior performance per clock cycle than the 9700X.
Hey man, thanks for the video. Why do you use cap frame x tho? Not only the software could potentially cause frame-time spikes it is also uses a lot of ram and cpu in comparison to using native rivatuner metrics.
My 9800x3d stats are now showing up in Msi Afterburner are you using Hwinfo64 or something else to show your osd? Maybe you can make a video on OSD setup someday would be great! Thanks
That's what the upcoming 9950X3D is for. If it has dual cache on both 8 cores it should be a beast without the garbage scheduling problems of the first one.
I love the case, PCU is not at button but side of case which gives you better air circulation from button of case which has lowest temp and help GPU to cool down better, IDK about MB, But i know MSI is also a very good Mb maker. Please make some benchmark with it
In cyberpunk, if you have an amd cpu, the smt must be on and the crowd density set to medium. Otherwise, the cpu usage will be all over the place no matter what. Nice video👍
I'm awaiting delivery of new pc - 7900x, msi 4070 super x2 oc, 32gig 6000, nve 7000/6500, using sealed watercooler on cpu. Will I be able to play games 4k/60fps? I'm upgrading from 3700x 1080ti hybrid sc2. I'm slightly worried about the vram, i've come across videos saying the sink does not cover all vram. Am I worrying too much, I was working to a budget. Common games - factorio, satisfactory, poe, diablo and hoping poe2
The PC looks great but could be better with the soon to be release Aorus x870i Pro Ice white board and the trident royal 6000cl28 silver ram or the ram you already have too.
hello Vadim !! Can you make a test on competitive 5x5 mode in cs2 for like 3-4 minutes on map like ancient / train or any map actually would be fun res 4:3 1280x960 )) and if you have doom eternal would be nice to see if this cpu can finally handle that game on high framerate ps : it was expected to struggle in heavy cpu scenarios
Would you say its worth upgrading from my i7 14700k to this or wait a few more years? I would prefer intel over AMD so maybe waiting to see if intel can come back with something special?
Impossibile in Hogwarts Legacy, either you have the frame generator active, or you have RT turned off, the 9800x3d does not do 140 fps with RT ON, without RT it even exceeds 250-300fps with 4090, but with RT to do 140 fps with those settings and a 4070ti s you must have FG ON. Check carefully, maybe your RT setting is bugged (and it was definitely off) or otherwise you had FG ON and it saganva on OFF
Reducing per core latency and increasing cache can only do so much. Dual channel memory bus of these desktop systems are being tapped out. They need to start offering consumer desktop systems with quad channel memory in order to break the current bottleneck.
@@theivadim I think they will be forced to at some point, as this bottleneck is starting to show its head in every new release currently. Stalker 2 is horrendous for it.
Yeah in CS2 with a 4090 at 4K minimum settings and FSR Performance mode I get 456-567 fps in the newly returned De_Train map with an undervolted 5425MHz 9800X3D. The GPU util is like 73-84% the 5090 will likely be able to turn on all the eye candy and still get the same numbers without upscaling
I can certainly recommend some PC parts that I find reliable. However, if you have a specific budget in mind, I recommend checking out Zach’s Tech Turf channel. He offers great PC build recommendations for virtually every budget.
99% people that buy this CPU wants it for gaming. I Never buy the 3D cache CPUs I rather get the top tear 7900X or the newer 9900X. Powerful and capable, imho the 3D VCache doesn't help when multi-tasking like streaming and gaming on the same PC.
Hogwarts Legacy is still a microstutter fest and all Ryzen CPUs suffer performance hits. Only way I can make it better is setting everything to medium and town NPCs to low and then kick on frame generation to max out the refresh rate.
Yeah, there are very few UE5 games that don’t stutter. The only one that ran super smoothly for me this year was Hellblade 2. Unfortunately, that’s just how games based on the UE5 engine tend to work. I’m not a fan of it.
What should we test next on this 9800X3D PC?
test it VS 5700x3d. Or if you don't have a 5700x3d setup, test the 9800x3d against the 7600/7600x.
Test it with all the games "it can't run".
