In the studio version it's Mark Jansen (from Epica) doing the growling. They were in After Forever together way, way back. Pretty awesome duo that was.
Yes audio was very bad. But not your fault. Floor is horrible at growling. She can't do it properly and would hurt her voice. Probably why she doesn't do it anymore.

And the PROOF of that is that she can switch to powerfull opera singing in one sentence. If she had been forcing her voice doing this she would not have been been able to do that.
