I'm a huge, long-time NW fan/addict! haha.😊So welcome on board the NW ship of wonders! 🤘They are such an epic, extraordinary, legendary band, as you surely know by now! I'm so glad to see so many people on YT reacting to Nightwish and thus coming to know their music this way! Nightwish lore spreading all around!!!🤘🖤 Yeah! haha. I mean, you witnessed it, their music is so... God, no mundane word is enough to describe such magnificent otherworldly realm that they've created through their Music!!! Pure magic, regardless of who's the singer they're working with! Although I do have a reeaally soft spot for my powerful sorceress metal goddess Tarja, their first lead singer from 1996 to 2005😍😆 ahaha. Btw, I believe dear Gabriel has already come to your channel and given you the brief history and lore of the band, so I'll just skip that part >.< Well, I don't know if you're taking suggestions from the comment sections but, I hope so for I have plenty lol, I also hope you're willing to take this fantastic journey through all of their music (I believe anyone starting to know their work should give a listen to them in all eras, including their origins with Tarja Turunen and their middle era with Anette Olzon, so you can have a full insight of their history, lore, evolution and Art). So if that's alright I'd like to drop down here a list with my suggestions by them in Tarja's era (their first), since from what I've seen (I'm new around here though lol) you reacted more often to NW with amazing Floor (with songs that I generally recommend from her era), and I'm more of an "old school Nightwisher" (although I absolutely LOVE them in all eras!🤘💘), plus I'd like to not make this comment any longer that it will already be lol. Afterwards I'll be also suggesting songs from Tarja's long, stunning solo career; her work is different from anything you've seen and I love it, creative and overall mindblowing, plus she's constantly growing as an artist, it's just inspiring, and only through her solo career you get to know her artistry deeper! Now before we continue, I'd only like to add that I enjoy NW's music from all eras with all three lead singers they had because they're an incredible band, and although I'm a huge Tarja fan (or Tarjaholic, as some would call us ahaha) - and think she's very unique and brought NW to a whole new level combining her stunning dark, absolutely beautiful and powerful operatic vocals (which timbre I must say is rare and uncommon even into the classical music universe) with Tuomas' genius -, I love, respect, support and appreciate all singers who sang with them as the equally great, amazingly talented artists they undoubtedly are in their own different ways and rights (that's a fact only the blind don't see, all else is just a matter of personal taste and preference imo), for each of them brought special, individual and unique elements to the band that helped them grow, mature and develop their artistic identity. As a fan, I strongly believe we are blessed to have witnessed three amazing talented ladies fronting NW and should just enjoy the gift they deliver us with their timeless Art, and I think we should be grateful and feel honored for that, regardless of our personal preferences. That being said, without further ado, back to NW in Tarja's era (I tried to make a selection as short as I could, really difficult to choose from their vast, outstanding repertoire ahaha, but there's so much more to explore as you go): 1. th-cam.com/video/YODCM26JXOY/w-d-xo.html . "Ghost Love Score", performed in the iconic "End of an Era" show in 2005 (the last time ever the band and Tarja performed together, plus a curious fact: Tarja was very sick with severe throat infection during this concert. She didn't even know if she'd be able to sing that night, yet she did it marvellously! So if this is not the best she can do, just you imagine how damn incredible she is at her best!😍Remember this everytime you do a reaction to this concert ahaha). The song is from their album "Once". One of their greatest masterpieces of all times! Floor also sings this one differently but beautifully🖤 (you already reacted to her version) and I love both, but I personally love the way Tarja sings it, I feel like she deeply understands the crucial importance of the instrumentals (especially the epic orchestral arrangement and choir), and the unspoken soul of the song, so she doesn't sing it like it was all about her voice and it's clearly intentional; if you listen closely sometimes she even seems to use her voice like an instrument, often blending her sound at the end of some phrases with the orchestra's (which in Floor's version was made lower probably to match her style better), becoming one living soul with the music. 'Tis their iconic outstanding, phenomenal, mindblowing cover of the song from the same-name Andrew L. Webber's musical! Tarja becomes The Siren here, so mesmerizing! Plus you get to hear different layers of her singing she rarely used while with NW, apart from ramarkable dark operatic vocals: a soft, drawing, mystic almost ethereal voice, and a moment of a sort of arabic/gypsy chanting or something! "Passion and the Opera", this one is actually performed in Tarja's solo career, 'twas in 2007 (therefore after the breakup). I don't think they ever performed this song live together. Anyway it's sooo amazing!!! In this song it seems Tuomas makes "subtle" musical mentions of Mozart's "Queen of the Night" aria, from his opera "The Magic Flute". This is "Swanheart", live performance from 2001 dvd "From wishes to Eternity". The song is originally from their album "Oceanborn". The producer of the movie { Creators--Past} could not find anyone to sing this song for the soundtrack. His associate had heard of Dimash and listened to some of his music and then she told him to listen. This is a movie made in Italy and Dimash would not go there because of Covid, and he did not want to possibly expose his grandparents to it in any way. So, they had to get three different singers to record the song and send the tape to Dimash, and they could not get the notes like Dimash. As you can see, Dimash does it again. I wish the movie had been released here in the States.

Yes audio was very bad. But not your fault. Floor is horrible at growling. She can't do it properly and would hurt her voice. Probably why she doesn't do it anymore.

I guess the sound engineer left more headroom in the mix for Courtney's voice. Which is not a bad thing and this stuff sounds massive for a pseudo-live performance (It is a studio after all). I don't care if Courtney is breathy or whispery. She is in full control of her voice and her range is perfect fot this kind of music.
