and after reading many of the comments below, I WAS indeed able to replace this w/o disconnecting the tie rods, AND my axle came out as easily as he showed it
Every other video makes it way harder than it is. Unbolting things that DON’T need to be unBolted. Follow this video! Super easy. Also search using vice grips to remove axles; and also search for how to use a chain. You will never have any fear changing axles again.
This video was fantastic, thank you. I did my driver's side CV axle with a buddy in about 45 minutes. ONE question, when i pulled the axle out of the engine side, there was NO oil that came out. Your vid showed a brownish oil coming out. Was that b/c my engine is an Automatic, and yours is a Manual? Also, after checking with the local auto parts store there is NO seal to replace on the driver's side, only on the passenger side on the other CV axle. At any rate, thank you.

I have no idea why you decided to use red thread lock on the ball joint bolts. I haven't used any thread locker and never had any problems with nuts coming loose. If you're going to use some, just use the blue stuff that doesn't require a torch to remove.
Hi, so my mechanic said they don’t make the original axles any more for my 03 Corolla, but I’m worried about putting aftermarket axles! Should I get the original seals at least? What aftermarket brand would you recommend? Is there a possibility that the transmission fluid can leak if you install aftermarket parts? Any help is appreciated..

Does the part included in the link also come with a new seal or is there another link you could post along with the axle?
Fantastic and in detail videos that you're doing very very helpful for us who don't do this everyday thank you.
These videos are great. Simple, clearly explanations, quick, and good lighting and sound quality.

2:40 "you do you, boo boo!" haha; that was hilarious
Highly doubt that axle came out that easy 😂
nope i tried it on my 2005 matrix xrs wasnt easy
I used a slide hammer and c-plate
you make it look so easy

You’re awesome explain everything properly and fill plug for the transmission thank you very much
thanks u saved me alot of time
How did you get it off with out fight it huh 🤔 I know u struggle
Would it be the same procedure with all wheel drive?
so can i confirm that the wheel hubs on a 2005 toyota matric are the same as the pontiac vibe hubs as far as the cv axle splines go?

How do you remove the cv axle seal? Does it just pull out fairly easily?
Thanks for the vid my guy
Is the process the same for 2005 Toyota Corolla?

Yes its the same.
To the man with a hammer, everything is a nail. But no. I appreciate your gratuitous use of bonk
No mention about it being a 1.8l or a 2.4. I'm sure the axel nut is a different size
My husband had to wrap a broken extension cord around the old axel to get it out lol
Is there diffrence in size between left & right axle? Can I install the same axle for both sides?
Thanks in advance
No passenger axle is usually much longer
Good video
Thanks a lot
do you need to loose the bolts holding the shock/strut?
nope
It doesn't look like you are putting enough turning force on the torque wrench to achieve the stated torque values/
Refill the transmission fluid
How can you do that so easily without removing tie rods

What about the other side?

So fluid should only come out on the manual, not the auto, and needs to be refilled with gear oil at a separate fill port.
You did you boo boo!
Everything cones off so easy
For a 2009 totota matrix the process is the same?
