New Wheel Bearing & Hub Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASH...
This video shows you how to install a front wheel bearing & hub on your 2003-2008 Toyota Corolla. Not only can a worn wheel bearing or hub be annoying if it is noisy or vibrating, but it can also lead to accelerated wear in other parts, or unsafe driving conditions. Replacing your worn bearing or hub with a quality TRQ part is a safe, smart, decision.
This repair was done on a 2008 Toyota Corolla S 1.8L Sedan 4-Door FWD Automatic and the process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2003 Toyota Corolla
2004 Toyota Corolla
2005 Toyota Corolla
2006 Toyota Corolla
2007 Toyota Corolla
2008 Toyota Corolla

A mechanic who knows to spin the nut, not the bolt… chef’s kiss!
Wow. This guy is a very good and thorough mechanic. Excellent lighting and focus. This is how a mechanical how-to video should be done. I'm an experienced amateur mechanic but I learned a few things like don't put anti seize on the lug studs.
This video sooooo makes the case for just buying a quality loaded knuckle. I did both in my 04 vibe.
Thanks for the vid. After watching literally a hundred of these it was the first one to mention which side this type of bearing can go into the knuckle.
Just got quoted from the car shop, $1300 usd w 60k mile warrant for both driver + passenger...I jist saved over 900 bucks doin it on my own, I grabbed the pre assembled knuckles they had on the website! 1300 is wild
I have watched a few of your videos. You are an excellent and conscientious mechanic. Very good video tutorials. You are a credit to your employer. Thanks for showing me the way.
TRQ, has good parts for a good price. Add good tutorials to that list!! Thank you!
Great instructions as always, thank you for the torque specs too! Watching these guides helps my peace of mind a ton before i start projects on my 200k corolla.
I loved this video... right to the damn point. You know I have not been able to find the torque spec on the castle nut (159#) for years.. I even talked to mechanics who told me " I just tighten them as much as I can with the impact"
U did it right.....others press in using inner race which is a no,no. 👍
Imma just buy a preassembled new kit😬
So a few things. Dont start nuts with an impact! Also go ahead and buy a whole new hub, bearing, and housing BEFORE putting a new hub and bearing in a old housing. Other than that very informative 👌 thanks 😊
Well made video and effort with attention to details. Showing whole procedure with good visual angle and explanation.
Thanks for helping me to decide to let my mechanic do this job instead of me
I realize it's an edited video but not showing how you remove the stuck race that is still on the hub is kind of misleading. That usually requires using torches, air chisel, and/or a bearing race puller. I get not showing how to deal with the rotted dust shield, the missing ball joint nut... etc because it's a video showing about the bearing but you should have touched on the stuck race. Especially on how to not damage the hub during removal. We've all been there! Other than that pretty good/informative video.
Thanks very good video for non mechanical person
Reusing clips saves editing time. Nice job!
Excellent demonstration. I wish you were my mechanic.
Very enjoyable video...well explained...Very easy to relate...well done...Thank you
lol I'm a idiot, this whole time I could have just taken the ball joint off with just one bolt instead of the three connecting to the control arm. Taking the ball joint last time was the hardest thing but after watching this I can see why I made it harder on myself.
One of the best video on this topic.. Thanks
Well now that I see all the hard work that goes into just replacing the wheel bearings, I won't be surprised if I'm charged more than $75.
Make sure you have both front wheels jacked up when you take off the knuckle. I learned the hard way😅
Brilliantly done. Excellent video footage.
It’s faster to take the ball joint with the knuckle. It’s only three bolts and you don’t have to worry about the cotter pin and nut
So, if the shop wants to charge up to 2 hours labor, allowing for rusty parts and broken snap rings... I should be fine with it. Got it.
Excellent job, good video thanks
Thanks you are helping a lot
Brilliant video, and great angles thanks. Is it the same for Toyota Corolla 2012 Diesel?
Wow i thought hub assymbly just bolted on. Cant believe tgey still used this design on something until 07
thanks so much It was a very clear and easy way ..
Thanks for the video- should I get an alignment after doing this job?
+MedikPac We would suggest an alignment after this installation.
Great video, seems simple enough but still a bit of knowledge and work needed (subscribed). PS, do i buy a press or just drop the car off and let them do it.🤔
Very informative and satisfying to watch
High-quality bearings are the only guarantee for safe driving.
I like the trick of using a big high hat brake rotor. What year/make/model vehicle does that brake rotor come from?
Great video, thank you!
Dam to replace a carolla bearing is harder than a replacing Bugatti engine
Nice video, good education
I have OTC 6575 wheel press kit do on the car much easier expensive to do but worth it
very good explained and clear thanks
I was safety squinting as you were removing the snap ring.
Perfect video 👌📸
Worked great 👍
keep in mind you'll have to get an alignment done if removing the knuckle.
Thank you for the video.
Looks like it is hard to find a 30mm 12 point impact socket. You can find a 30mm 6 point impact socket and you can find a 30 12 point standard socket.
Do u have to do wheel alignment after this kind of job???? I always hear u do
Let me know
Can't you just replace only the bearing
Interesting
Why did they go back to the old style instead of using the hub assembly?
Hie how are you l have got my toyota allex am having right side wheel bearing problem and it started when l changed my CV joints it's now the 3rd time changing my bearing same side different brands what can be the cause of that
Thanks!!!
Ok I don’t have this kind of tools, so I’m just gonna buy the whole assembly 🥹🥹
I had a question, if I don’t have a press, is there any way out of it?
Can I buy a knuckle with pre installed bearing or something
Can anyone help me out with that
Thanks
Is it okay to add extra grease to the new bearings? I know theyre pre-greased, but would it hurt to add more so it can last longer?
What is symptom of bad wheel hub
Thanks giys
Pls i stay in Nigeria. This actually is my job too. But is it necessary to apply some grease inside the bearing before installing them in d spindle?
amizing
What size is the socket used as a spacer?
Why didn’t a grease seal be replaced on behind bearings and before axle joint installed
Can I just buy the hub and bearing already ensembled ?
+jdm fans!! Yes you can! Buy the part in this video on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Drove over an invisible pothole on the freeway going 70mph and one of the threads on the wheel hub bent and ended up breaking off after I tried changing the flat tire I got from it 😤😭
👍🏼
The OTC hub grappler sells for around $600
What is the cost of the repair shop?
$75-125 an hour plus parts possibly
What’s the name of the game?
Pay less then the cost of the shop
If the repair cost $800
The tool plus the part cost $750
😆
Buy used knuckles or pay TRQ?
Probably cheaper to pay TRQ
what did you learn:
Type your responses below
No mechanic or technician in Nigeria can replace the hub bearing...all they do here is replace the entire hub..
I am not on the same page after watching this ,i have moved
👌👌👍👍
Couldn’t you just replace the whole thing?
Replace it better than repair it 😢
DO YOU NEED A NEW HUB?
