Samsung refrigerator quick and easy "only crushed ice" fix!

We had a technician come out and replace our icemaker....guess what ! still getting only crushed ice ....watched your video and held the arm in the up position and we now have cubed ice again....our fridge is still under warranty so we didn't have to pay for the visit but why wouldn't a technician know this simple fix? Thank you so much now I can call Samsung and tell them not to bother sending anyone back out because you tube was more knowledgeable 😊

Thank you, that worked for me! The lever in the back was stuck in the up position only giving crushed ice. I pushed it back down and voila'!

Thank you that worked I melted mine by accident thawing out the ice when it wasn’t making ice. I just did this like you said. It works great thank you!
So will my solenoid go up if I want crushed or will it be stuck down?

THANK YOU! I recently got it fixed by a tech when the ice stopped working but for the past week I had to deal with the crushed ice that remained in the dispenser melting & making a mess of water.

Wow. We have a different model without that button/switch, however, I saw a piece of ice that was stuck there. I removed it and it works again! Thanks!!!

I have a different model, that trick works except I had to get the lever in the back of the refrigerator to stay upwards in order to be able to hold the door while pressing it back in now I only get cubes( obviously I stuck ice in the lever to hold it up) any ideas ?

Thank you for the video. I've had this problem for a couple of years but never bothered to fix it. I had to buy a new ice bin and thought now would be a good time to fix it. After you went through the procedure you just demonstrated, can you now toggle between cubed and crushed?

It's possible that it's frozen. Try hitting it with a blow dryer for a few minutes to see if it starts to move.
