My refrigerator stopped dispensing water. After several days on TH-cam University, I realized the following: My freezer was still making ice. I changed my water filter to a new filter and purged out any air in the line. My refrigerator side crisper area water reservoir tank was not frozen. I changed my water inlet valve to a new water inlet valve and verified both for continuity prior to installation. Both the old and the new showed nearly identical continuity confirming a working water inlet valve. And still, no water. Unless both the old water inlet valve and the new water inlet valve both have defective mechanical issues. What are the odds? I am suspicious to that being the issue. I removed the main water line and checked water flow. Very solid and good pressure. I then connected the main water line to the new water inlet valve and turned on the water supply. The water ran through the water inlet valve up into the water filter and back down the return line. That is where the water flow ends for dispensing water to drink, but not to the freezer to make ice cubes. So, something is not "turning on" or allowing the water to be dispensed at the push pad. Yet, water is going up to the freezer to make ice. I am baffled.

Waaay above my education level.. good luck .. and if you find out what went wrong please come back and let me know.. make a video and drop the link here.. I haven't had that issue yet. But if it happens I would like to know the fix for it..
I'm guessing the line isn't frozen.. . Im sure you've defrosted the fridge with all the work you have done.. .
Personally tbh I know nothing about anything I do. I'm just mostly guessing and you tube University my way through life's problems.. good luck on your journey my friend

@@TFE_MaD Ironically, I did further testing to isolate and rule out certain suspicions. I removed the lower front plastic panel at the bottom of the refigerator and disconnected the water line. I pushed on the dispenser pad and no water was dispensing from that water hose. That hose leads back to the water reservoir. Seeing my water reservoir was not frozen, it was low on water due to blowing into the line from the rear water valve to ensure no obstructions in the line. Once I blew into the line, the air pressure forced water out. I did this several times not knowing it lowered the water reservoir water level below the inlet and outlet points. But either way, something is not refilling that water reservoir. So I spoke with a technician and he confirmed that the hose at the lower front does come off the water reservoir and that the water valve fills the water reservoir. So with all I explained; new water valve, new filter, ice is being made, no water being dispensed or filled in the reservoir, he said it is most likely the Control Board; the part behind the buttons we press for water, crush, cube. He said it sounds like it failed. I already placed an order for a new one and will keep you up to date. Prior to one week ago, I knew nothing about refrigerators. Now I seem to know a great deal. Hopefully I can solve this issue. To be continued...

@@TFE_MaD Sir, my issue is SOLVED. It was the Refrigerator Dispenser Control Board that is behind the water/crush/cube dispenser cover. $35 refurbished from Amazon. Two screws to remove the front plastic dispenser cover. Remove the Red and Black module push on wires. Remove the Computer Board wiring harness. Reinstall the Control Board. Water dispenses like a charm and this is something anyone who can use a screw driver can do.

@@GR8WHITEC5 great.. I was hoping you made a video... but this is solid information.. . So I know if the water ever goes out to see if the like is frozen.. then change the board..

Thank you, last nite the wife was smashing the whole drawer in and out and ice got into that little square window behind the drawer way back in the freezer, not allowing that thing to drop down, move the rod, etc. I had to fish all the ice out. I also emptied the drawer and found a chunk of frost, which was the initial problem. Thank you again.

I have been cursing out my ice maker for about 3 months now. It kept getting jammed because I don't have a water line and I was using just trays for ice. The cube nature of them tended to get broken into chunks and then jam in the works cause it to stop turning. Watched this video and noticed that my spring worked just fine, but it was in the up position.
Understanding how it worked I was able to hold down the spring and insert the tray back in making sure the bar went into the square. Then let go and it grabbed it and moved it up. NO MORE ICE JAMMING! So happy.

I got stuck for over a year and it was wearing me out to scoop ice cubes into a bin and fetch them manually. Doesn't sound like much, but I had frozen shoulder then. The repair guy came and must have done this, but didn't explain what the problem was well enough. After a power outage, they have a tendency to get stuck again, so this video saved the day.

That square bit at the back of the fridge won't stay down this time. The spring keeps it in the up position, even w/ a blower dryer. So I just pulled the ice kit out a bit and jimmied that metal rod back onto the spring and that worked to get my cubes going again.

That fixed my icemaker to making cubes a year ago. For some reason, the sqare springy mechanism in the back of the fridge, behind the icemaker kit wouldn't come free this time. It stayed stuck up top and would only do crushed. What I was able to do by watching this carefully again is get that piece of metal that catches onto the spring, to set back onto the square spring. Once I had carefully jimmied the metal piece back onto the spring, I got cubes again. Didn't have to do that last time, but it worked.

That was my problem last time. That metal rod had come off the square plastic slider at the back of the fridge, behind the ice kit. I was able to pull the ice kit out a bit and reach underneath, pull the square bit down and hook the metal rod back on. Back to cubes again.

Thanks for the tip! I used a hair dryer to thaw the spring out, works great now!
