I have replaced my brakes on my Volvo S80 2012 with the E-Parking Brake. Only difference was I used a 9v Batteri and reversed the poles. Worked like a charm. Other than that, well done, both of you!

@@edwinromilly4645 I believe you CAN rewind the caliper without rewinding the electric park brake motor, but I don't think it is advised.
Volvo certified service centers recommended that I use a OBD 2 scarnner and put the brakes into "Service mode" which rewinds the e-brake for you. But that was a bit too much hassle for me.
So i bought a 9v Batteri, som wires and made my own rewind tool for the electric motors using that. Just disconnect the electric connector on the brake caliper near the electric motor, and connect some wires to the poles inside. Use different colors to help you see the difference.
You have a 50/50% chance on getting the poles reversed, so if the e-brake starts winding and stops quickly, then you probably just clamped down on the brake-pads and went the wrong way, try rotating the rotor. If it's stuck, reverse the wires again and you should hear the e--brake going for like 5-10 seconds until it stops, confirm it was going the correct way by rotating the rotor again, if it's free then you successfully rewinded the e-brake and you can change your brakes.
Then to re-engage the parking brake just go into the car and pull the e-brake. It should start winding out again until it hits the brake-pads, and done. Repeat on other side.
This video shows how you can do it without the special tool and without opening the e-brake motor: th-cam.com/video/8y54DKRHlAo/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=PrannerMedia

Entertaining video, well done for getting stuck in!
Get yourself a copy of VIDA and a DiCE - you can retract the rear pistons into the service position with a few clicks.
Some coppaslip/ceratec or similar on the pad ears and clips is always a good idea to keep things moving. Spend some time removing any corrosion underneath the clips on the caliper carrier, rust there can squeeze the clips and binds the pads up over time.
I probably would have replaced those discs whilst I was there. They look mildly lipped, not an issue now but rear pads can last ages.
I would have stuck to your guns and slid the wheel under the car - add some axle stands to your tool kit when you can, never rely on a cheap trolley jack alone.

Great channel and upstanding guy,Like guy in the comments said i would of replaced the discs bit of pitting by looks of it.On Autodoc They didn’t remove the motor they just use awind back tool-not sure this would damage the motor but doubt it????CAN ANYONE ADVISE? PLLLLLEASE Be appreciated. Can you poss do a video on replacing puddle lights(underneath mirrors) please ??ive had glass out and then they say push Down with a screwdriver or lever it then push the lights out but I can hardly get to mine and they don’t move
