    Well done mate. You just managed to do this replacement with just one hand. I love how you talk through the steps to be taken in order to do the job. Thanks for sharing.

    Useful video thanks. When I did the job I learned a few things;
    1) You don't need to take off the caliper bracket (held on by two 14mm bolts) to remove the disk - it slides out fine with the bracket still in place - Yes! :)
    2) The pads should slide easily into place. If they don't you need to double down on cleaning any rust and crap from the grooves in the caliper bracket - I used a file, carefully!
    3) My pads were also missing the stainless caliper inserts and unfortunately my existing inserts were pretty beat up, I'd have preferred to use new ones but needs must!

    I have just come across your channel and subscribed that is a bout right as i don't bother with torque wrench and just give it full send with the impact or ratchet grate video

      It is a bit like a c1 though, I mean it’s got 4 wheels 🤷‍♀️

    Pro tip: if you need to open the brake hydraulic system, instead of crushing the brake hose, if you keep the brake pedal depressed a bit, the fluid won't drip out of the pipe.
    I think it works by magic or something

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It closes the inlet off to the master cylinder from the reservoir but can still drain the line that’s open. I’m not a fan of crushing brake hoses myself and didn’t actually put those grips on the pipe, the owner did that but the car was parked like that for a couple of week waiting for parts.

    the tire you took out on 1.21 is more worn inside. the reason could negative camber. you have to check before put the new one.

      Negative camber, toe out. Both will do it. Car has a shagged bush on the rear arm

    Well done, first time ive seen electric handbrake !
    Was that activating the caliper or what ?
    If it was the caliper why did u have too press the piston back in ??

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Cheers mate and yea the electronic handbrake has a motor which turns a thread inside and pushes the piston out, or releases it depending on which way voltage is applied. You’ve still got to push the piston back after winding the motor all the way back in though as otherwise it’s still a conventional hydraulic calliper. You can also do it through diagnostics if you have it, or take the motor off and wind it manually but I think this is probably the easiest way to do it.

      He had to press piston back in as don’t forget new pads going in so need to push piston as far back as can go.He did toptastic job of getting them rusty calliper carrier bolts of, I would’ve wire brush them and WD just to make sure.
