    Replaced pads on all 4 wheels, on 2019 Mazda 3 not long ago. That was my first experience with a EPB. Took me a little longer than I had anticipated to get that figured out lol.

    I learnt something today! I have seen those little pins on brake pads and always thought they were from the manufacturing process.

    I have a 17mm spanner that is ground down to half thickness, because it was needed to hold some half nuts that were used to set float on a machine. Needed as the half nuts are on the bottom, and the top is a dome nut. Float needed was 0.25mm with a tolerance of 0.05mm, so the Belleville washer stack was compressed to the right force.

    @3:28 In my experience, the vehicles where the parking brake cable manually actuates the caliper are the ones where the piston (generally) needs to rotate while being pressed in. The exception is the NA/NB Miata, which has a hex driven gear to adjust the caliper piston (the gear is accessed after removing a small plug bolt on the inside of the caliper).

    You can use a 9 volt battery with leads to run to the plug on the electric brake in or out.

    I've had to warranty a few Gearwrench wrenches and went online to their site. I think there's a section for that on that site. Anyway, it's a mail in thing. Stinks but that's the way they do it. Love the wrenches but they aren't for getting too tough with.

    • @WrenchingWithKenny
      @WrenchingWithKenny  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Noticed that you did not show that you cleaned and relubricated the slide pins on the caliper bracket, sometimes they get dry and crusty and not allow the moving parts to move.

    • @WrenchingWithKenny
      @WrenchingWithKenny  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right. Normally, I would have but they were sliding perfectly. Thanks for watching the channel & keep wrenching 🔧

    Kenny what about the rust behind the clips?

    • @WrenchingWithKenny
      @WrenchingWithKenny  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The pads slide freely, so there isn't any rust being built up to worry about. You're right though in many places people do get rust. Thankfully, where we are it isn't an issue. Thanks for pointing that out & watching the channel. Keep wrenching 🔧

    Ugh, I have a dozen questions already. Will all scanners perform this on all cars, or do you need a specific scanner for each car? How do you keep the car in neutral when you power the car off? I have a 2020 Honda Accord with the 2 liter engine and 10 speed automatic.

    Well, you sold me on NOT buying A S60. Electric/electronic parking and it doesn't use an actual key for the ignition. Is that a sway attached to the relatively flimsy backing plate of the brakes? Have a wonderful day Mr. Kenny.

    Those Volvos have a really annoying BMS system..... our S60 have had that message for two years now and it is only recently that the battery has been showing signs of weakness. Apparently it is programmed to know the age of the battery and that is more important than the real condition of it.🤔

    I hate those foreign makes with bolts instead of studs. That rotor/caliper/pads are in nasty shape.
