To be truthful, the daughter dying was so depressing that an ex deus machina was not only excusable but necessary to keep the earth from being flooded with tears.
The ending of Death Note in both manga and anime of where Light loses makes total sense. While it is true that Light could have known if the Death Note was tampered with as Mikami always lets him know if it has, the only way they could do that was through Takada since they were communicating by sending notes to each other that Takada delivers to each of them since Light wanted to avoid any close or phone contact with Mikami since the Task Force was monitoring him, and since Light killed Takada with a clipping of the Death Note he had hidden inside his watch, Light could no longer communicate with Mikami and could not have known if the real Death Note was swapped with a fake if Mikami noticed. Which is why Mello kidnapped Takada in the first place since he knew this would be the only way to catch Kira. I know Light is an intelligent character who managed to defeat L, but it's not like he didn't make any dumb mistakes along the way. After all, he accidentally revealed his location in Japan to L when he killed Lind L. Talior. Light's biggest flaw that lead to his downfall was his ego. He believed his actions of purging the world of criminals was all about peace and justice even though it was actually about evil and discrimination, he believed his actions and himself were superior to everyone else and viewed them all as fools, and he killed tons of innocent people that were just simply trying to end his reign of judgemental injustice. In short, Light Yagami may have been a genius, but he wasn't a flawless genius.
Ultimately, the war between Light, L, Mello and Near was one of attrition. All Near had to do was wait for a moment where a break in Light’s armor was exposed.
@@emo565 Light figured that, once L was out of the way, he had no way of being caught. What Light didn't count on, besides Mikami, was that one of the task force would ultimately turn on him so completely.
Actually the Berserk Ending was built up. The whole season was a flashback with the first episode showing Guts has a vendetta against demons and a guy named Griffith. The rest of the season from episode 2 onward was showing how Griffith eventually became Gut's Mortal Enemy... Also it's not the real ending. It's just the end of the Golden Age Arc.
So the entire show is a revenge story, revolving around two former brothers in arms Griffith and Gutts turned Mortal Enemies... (now there's a compelling story...)
Even when you ignore the Flays Forward Pilot which I feel was a mistake. Griffith's truly selfish nature was apparent from his introduction, and the Egg had set up as ominous many times.
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: For my #1 choice, I had to cut back on time and I didn't know how well the audience would react to a certain scene. I thought the aspects I pointed out in the video was enough to make my case, but apparently it wasn't. My apologies. I was only trying to keep the video short and to the point with each number, but I guess I did keep out the most messed up part in the anime.
really I'm not bitching. it was a great list. I wouldn't let my kids watch that show. well not the first and last 3 of it. But I'm lucky my kids like Soul eater and digimon. the guyver OVA is even to adult for them. like my daughter loves you guys why I started watching you. so in that sense I'm glad of all you didn't show.
If you think about it, the Death Note ending is pretty similar to what tends to happen in real life. Plenty of serial killers have been caught simply because they get cocky and start making mistakes.
SugaCookie_films xo_ honestly now that Saban (the company that dubbed Precure into Glitter Force) is owned by hasbro it’s hard day if well have another glitter force
honestly Death Notes' ending isnt "wtf" at all...it makes perfect sense. once Light defeated/killed L, he believed no one would be able to stop him because he could easily outwit the local police and anyone else who would try to track him down, killing them if need be to cover his tracks. as far as i can recall (i could be wrong, it has been awhile since i picked up Death Note), Light had no idea L had successors to take over for him should anything happen to him. so Near tricking Light so easily makes perfect sense. Light got cocky, believing he was untouchable w/ the smartest detective dead, and lowered his guard, falling for the easiest trick in the book (no pun intended). the only problem w/ this ending is how cliche it is: villain (and Light IS the villain/antagonist of Death Note, albeit a self-righteous one because he believes hes ridding the world of criminals) defeats our hero and gets cocky, but then falls for a simple trick made by the hero's friend(s) (or the hero themselves if they lived) which then leads to their downfall. i will agree the ending seemed a bit lazy and rushed, but it isnt a "wtf ending" at all. many shows and movies used this kind of series of events (in varying scenarios of course) in order to defeat the antagonist
I agree. Near is horrible, in my opinion, but the ending worked with how they made fake pages and all. With the build-up, and how Near and Mellow worked together, it worked. Light deserved to die, and not to mention Matsada pulling that brilliant redemption.
The episode where Light killed L felt too much like a perfect ending for the show. The rest of it feels like they added it because Light is evil and thus has to die in the end. So the "second part" makes sense, but is almost completely irrelevant. They could have just added that Light got killed in the end because he got cocky. This would have suited the series much more, because it's the battle of Light's and L's different perceptions of justice that makes the series interesting, not the actual action
I personally loved the Death Note ending as there had been many close calls he faced in the pass where he won mostly by chance. The ending just shows that any one mistake that Light makes would lead to his demise.
@@belleroseelizabethsmith8148 mikami (the delete guy) had a fake death note, with the real one hidden in a bank safe, just in case the good guys try to meddle with it. mikami went to the bank, one time too many, when the reporter lady was kidnapped, which tipped off the investigators, that theres something important in there.
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR #02: The term "Magical Time Travel" is a JOKE! I hated the ending, I hated the "dream", and I just hate Clannad in general. No need to explain because I was forced to watch each episode. I know what its about, I know how it all works, and I still hate it! The ending is still out of place and fucked up!
I understand your point but seriously who wants an anime to end with everything the guy loved and cherished gone. Also question do you actually know why he was able to have his wish be granted?
I get where you're coming from and how it may have been explained to you through the anime, problem is the anime tried to tie is an aspect in the visual novel's play structure (which sometimes can't be done). In the VN, you have to collect all the lights to get the true ending (the happy ending); thing is, to get to it you have to go through the traumatizing ending to obtain the last light.
For DeathNote, I believe that the ending was somewhat believable(depends on how HUGE you interpret Light's arrogance). I think that Light thought he was about to win the game, one pawn left to kill before to take down the king.... I've had times when in a competition that I'm about to win, and I let my guard down..... shit happens.
Kit Lick my only quarrel with that ending was fixed on one of the live action movies where L is the one to defeat Raito/Light, it was fun however to see in the uncut endidng that Kira became a shinigami
Deisia Lind kaina Oh no someone has a differing opinion than you better start shouting at them and call them rude just because they don't agree with you. I mean seriously they're being a bitch because they say they don't like the show? They have every bit the right to express that opinion as you do yours and saying otherwise is just being a hypocrite.
I have to question the Clannad After story ending being on this list. The anime did show some elements of things not being completely realistic like Fuko at the start of the story. What about the boy who wanted to grant that wish. The series did drop some hints that those things were possible in the world so I don't think the ending was actually bad, rather it was built up from all of the other events
That's why clannad was so great imo, you somewhat understand what's happening but not entirely so it keeps you wondering. But afterwards it all makes sense. Kanon is the same
I still dont like it. Stuff like that shouldn't be possible in a realistic slice of life. If they were just gonna pull Disney style nobody dies, happily ever after ending then they should've just left out After Story and had an extra episode/mini sequence where they have a kid.
@@bluebay1031 No they shouldn't have. Everything they did was perfectly normal to the show. It's actually based off of the game, where if you collect these things then Nagisa and Ushio don't die. Technically the true/main ending is the depressing one but I think that even with how much it emotionally wrecked me, everything that happened should've happened. Right when you think it's gonna suck, you finally get a burst of happiness. It's not supposed to be realistic either. Most anime is supposed to be unrealistic. I've seen a slice of life/drama where literally everyone almost died and "magically" they're all saved, sometimes it's best to have an ending that leaves you shocked.
@@lexthedork4040 I know most, if not all, anime isnt supposed to be realistic, but there's a certain degree of *realism* that comes with most slice of life shows. Almost nobody who says it's unrealistic when talking about fictional media mean it's supposed to be fully realistic, they mean realistic within the realm of the world. For example, in Harry Potter, it's realistic to turn into a wolf. In most superhero worlds, it's realistic that putting on glasses and/or slightly changing your hair makes you unrecognizable. It doesn't mean realistic in our world, it means realistic in that world. I was under the impression that other people were aware of if that. Now that that rants over As for the ending, it still bugs me. Granted I've never played the game so I'm unaware of the multiple endings and hidden secrets, but solely from what we were given in the anime [which is what most people either know or what most knew first] it still bugs me as a very "lets chuck in a happy ending" move. I don't think someone should have to play the original game to understand why this magical time travel thing could've been possible, and it's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of VN/video game to anime adaptations. Because there's usually so much story to tell and the staff only picks one [occasionally two] routes to show. I think the only one I've ever fully enjoyed was Higurashi and, to a certain degree, Danganronpa. Also, I don't think shock is the right word for this. I was shocked the first time everybody died in Higurashi. I was shocked Sekai killed Makato [it was a happy shock but still]. I was shocked when Ace got fire fisted through the stomach. This was more confusion than shock, in a kind of "why the hell would you do this?" way. The same way I reacted to Maka becoming a weapon in the soul eater anime. But that's just my opinion. I'm never gonna like the way it ended, but if you like it, more power to you

AnimeAmericaPodcast Can you make a top ten most insane (or f**ked up) character thing with these Anime(s)- 10~ Misa/(Misa) Omanai DEATH NOTE ( Is that how you spell her last name?) 9~ Lucy ELFEN LIED ( She's practically a newer species of human called Diclonius. She's has a power that can literally slaughter humans to make the world like her in just 5 years if she wanted to. She thinks humans are cruel and worthless but that changes in the final episode. Hint hint~ This also should've been a honorable mention in your TOP TEN WTF ENDINGS IN ANIME. It left us in a total shitty cliff hanger.) 8~ Sachiko Sinozaki CORPSE PARTY TORTURED SOULS ( she's an undead 5 to 7 year old who had bee brutally killed by her father by choking and strangling her to death. She murders countless children or high school students with a large pair of sewing scissors and with some help of three other kids, I would've put her in the #4 spot, but I found someone even more terrifying than Sachiko. 7~ Yuno Gasai MIRAI NIKKI ( She has a split personality, and she's psychotic. I can't really explain more. Sorry. But I heard she's an insane character. Look her up on Wikipedia.) 6~ Hinako ( SLEEPING, BATH TIME, AND TRAINING) This was a 3 episode Anime where an Anime girl helps you exercise and sleep, but when you watch it, it's like a porno rather than an exercise anime. It's stupid and fucked up. 5~ The entire cast of HIGURASHI NO NAKU KORO NI AND SECOND SEASON KAI AND OVAS 1 AND 2 ( Believe me when I say this, but this show has turned from a sickening gory horror show to a happy go lucky OVA porno in a matter of minutes!!! >:o WTF!?!? I'll put the final 4 later. Give me a reply as soon as you can please. :D Thank You!
AnimeAmericaPodcast Can I ask why do you say Animes there is not "s" on the plural for Anime. The plural and singular is the same, so Anime not Animes.
Sweetheart, the part about Light winning against L with all his genius but then losing to such a stupid crappy plan is the EXACT accurate depiction of human nature and the core moral of the story. Things like this has happened over and over and over again, about heroes who moved mountains but were defeated by a mere arrow to the heel. Too many people say failure is the mother of success. But the truer truth is that success is also the mother of failure.
Because it is always in our greatest success that we lose control of the swelling of ambitions and lost sight of our weaknesses, which always end up spelling our doom. Light lost precisely because he won against the genius L. And that glorious victory doomed him into believing he is invincible, that he is a god without vulnerability. This is how success gives birth to failure.
Well I think it was an ending to show that Light got too cocky too. He wasn't able to see the plan because it was too simple. So, I think it's a little genius because of that.
the ending to seraph of the end was emoshitnal and damatic. it was such a good anime, but the ending was the main charaters walking on a beach. And then the camera zoomed out and SCENE
Honestly, the ending for Death Note makes sense and such. Light, with the help of Rem, defeated and killed L. Once Light had achieved that, he figured that he wouldn't have to worry anymore about anybody catching onto him and catching him. He didn't realize beforehand that L had successors. And with all of the information gathered by the police and L, and working together, Near and Mello were able to take Light down. Lights problem is that he got cocky after taking L down.
Probably the most WTF Anime ending i've ever seen is the one to Cory in the House. I mean I know the creators were running out of ideas by that point but the tentacle rape scene was clearly just evidence of rushed storyline.
I like the theory that N had written in the notebook himself to cheat and make sure that Light couldn't do anything about it when they found it in the gym
SPOILER ALERT In Tokyo Ghoul when Hide is (almost) dead, Kaneki stands in front of Arima. Arima clicked his Quinkey open. The End. It should be on this list.
Oh, come on. Death Note's ending made perfect sense. Yes Near's plan was confusing, but what ultimately happened was that Light became overconfident and, as a result, got careless. That's how he lost. You're right about Black Butler II, though. Never watched the second season, but just trying to read the plot made my brain hurt.
Robyn didn't like the ending because Light didn't win. The plan made perfect sense along with the reason why Light lost because he always let his ego get the best of him that he had made dumb mistakes, just like when he gave away his location to L when he killed Lind L. Tailor.
The Clannad ending was hinted and foreshadowed from literally the first episode of the first season. There's a reason its regarded as one of the finest exemplifications of complex foreshadowing within any visual novel. Case and point, the robot toy Ushio lost in the field is the same robot built in a field in the lost realm. For literature nuts like me that was a huge omen that Ushio Inherited the same burden of maintaining the lost realm with her own life. Basically we knew the demise of Ushio before they even got to reconnect emotionally. Making the emotional connection extremely hard hitting. This was intentional. if the symbolism goes over your head i guess that's tough. on another note there's some Technical things i must address. for one Clannad was NEVER just a slice of life. its always been genre'd as Supernatural or fantasy. just like nearly EVERY story produced by KEY. Ex. AIR, and Kannon. it's a constant reoccurring theme so there's that... The second thing i must address is that it was not a "magical time travel" ending. Not in the slightest. The world where Nagisa died still exists, the world where Ushio dies still exists just as does the world where Tomoya subsequently kills himself (eventually) proceeding ushios death. This world that you watch following the events of Clannad still exists. They are not rewound. The real ending can be understood by actually paying attention to the important little puzzles pieces of "the truth" given throughout each arc. But in summary basically after the main events of Clannad afterstory after Tomoya dies ( implied suicide) his soul is drawn to the lost realm because of his connection with the "lights" and also his Daughter ( now a stranded soul( yep Tomoyas conviction as a father sought out his lonely daughter to give her company even in death) ). Because Tomoya can see and by effect capture the "lights" he is sent out to collect them in the hundreds of thousands. This is done by Tomoya basically being revived in his life to live it out a new way and on his travels create/ capture the "lights". In the visual novel this is how various routes are explained and how each ties together. But this method can never save Nagisa or Ushio. Basically Nagisa route is a doomed route. However the hundreds of thousands of lights that hes captured after countless lives does have power. as each is capable of a wish a world full of these lights is a world full of wishes. A world full of wishes can be a WHOLE world. And that's what happens. That's what the lost realm Ushio did. She destroyed the lost realm world that was flooded to the brim with Tomoyas collected "lights" and recreated it in its entirety into a happy world for Tomoya. A world he honestly earned....though he does not know it....well kinda. In this new world he has the choice to still go back Nagisa. To meet her on that hill. He has to choose, is it better to love and lost or to not have loved at all? he chose twas better to love. in choosing to still be go with Nagisa knowing the pain ahead, his pain was spared....and so was Nagisa. THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD that was spoken of in one of the arcs. ill say this to anyone who doesn't get the ending to Clannad. i can understand where you come from. Clannads story requires ALOT of indepth attention to get its very complex symbology and convoluted foreshadowing.
I dont know about that. Most animes produced by the company origins from a games (visual novel) Clannad is a game developed by Key released for PC and PSP Air is a adult visual novel developed by Key released for PS2 and PSP same with Kannon. Ofcourse it is much symbolisms in the series because they are well written. But the main reason the Clannad ending is so confusing (but good). Is because the first "ending" reflect the bad ending in the game and the other ending reflect the good ending. Because in the game you need to gather the glowing orbs, if you fail you will get the bad ending. The time travel is just a nice transition because in the game you can just reload from saved game, that dont really works in a anime.
Some one far more linguistic than i made an impeccable argument. Find her comment and upvote the fuck out of it people. He or she deserves it. +Ana Nuann Posted "The ending to Clannad is NOT out of place, the thing about Clannad is that it's an anime adaptation that simply doesn't work without the viewer having information that the original visual novel readily supplies. You'd literally have to google it to understand it, and that's an adaptation problem. NOT a problem with the story. Lay the blame where it belongs, with the production company. Think, instead of emotionally ranting. You're simply wrong about Clannad. It is not, nor was it ever, a simple slice of life anime. It was heart wrenching at pretty much every single step of the way(not to mention that the foreshadowing for the ending is set up from the very beginning of the original Clannad) and it's only after you get the absolute best ending in the visual novel is there some sort of happiness(which is what occurs at the very end of AS). Tomoya has to WORK for his happy ending. If anything that makes the story that much better. And I don't even love Clannad, I just think it's completely foolish to write off a story that is actually good, simply because you're too lazy or self absorbed to go the extra mile towards understanding it. You didn't like Clannad, that's fine. But going by what's being said in the video, you didn't let Clannad be Clannad, you projected your own idea of what it was on top of what it actually is, so of course being that your idea of what it is is wrong, you would ultimately hate it. Honestly... this is where you see a line drawn between what is objective criticism and subjective emotional ranting."
With Clannad after story, time travel had nothing to do with it. The last part where Nagisa and Ushio lives is an alternate universe, where if they didn't die. So basically the anime gave viewers an inside look *if* Nagisa and Ushio lived. But they didn't. ;-;
+Multiapplecat I made a review where I rewatched the series. I take back what I said about Time Travel, but I still believe the ending to Clannad is ridiculous.
+Anime America If you think that is bad, watch both seasons to Higurashi. Someone dies every 5 minutes and it all keeps starting over. Worse than that, when you think you have it all figured out, the story shifts. Still, I thought Higurashi was good.
+Anime America The problem with all KEY anime and games they are messed up I played planetarian and how appropriate that Clanned is on this list. I will not touch the game based on the anime. :) Such is slice of life, fantasy and scifi anime will do to you. I won't touch us because it makes my brain hurt too.
i respectfully disagree with your opinion about Death Note. It's my favorite show, but i won't be all "IT IS AMAZING AND GREAT NOBODY CAN SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT EVER BECAUSE THEY ARE WRONG!!1!1". I think it was perfectly acceptable for Light to lose like that, being the evil genius he is. He began to go a little insane towards the end, so became careless and sloppy. And i think that is perfectly understandable! He has so much to do to keep people off of his trail, it's definitely realistic to have him get sloppy. Plus the ending was sure as hell emotional and memorable. Especially him dying halfway up the stairs to symbolize him going to nothingness, between heaven and hell.
I think its the thing where a man goes so far as to counter plan, to think it out so thoroughly that he gets beat by the most simplest of plans because he never took it into account. That's what I think on it.
It hurts MY brain when people don't seem to understand Clannad's ending. It wasn't random, it shouldn't come as a surprise even. It was hinted all the way back in s1 that those light orbs could create miracles, once you've collected enough of them. Tomoya did so, he made so many people happy, gained the orbs, so when life completely ended for him, he was blessed with the miracle of another chance at life. I think it's a damn good and positive ending and people need to rewatch the show if they feel confused about it.
Your absolutely right but only partially. Tomoya actually reincarnated Thousands of times. This is how routes are explained in the visual novel. Nagisa's death was a constant though. Nagisa had a doomed route. So in true anime badassery with the help of lost realm Ushio, and the metric ton of Lights he gathered. They recreated a whole other world where the "constant" of nagisa dying turned into a "variable". This is why Lost realm Ushio was found in the forest. The ending takes places in that lost world. The lost world was described as a fractured broken world that broke off during the times of creation. In the ending its essentially been healed and has become a whole world. Which in a weird way makes Tomoya its complacent cable installing deity.
+CrazyPanda GIRL He was starting to get out of hand with the killing, in my opinion. Maybe if he didn't lose his marbles, he would have remained my favorite character.
3 and 4 are legit to me. I expected to see Future Diary here. 3 Universes, 2 of them destroyed with 2 living Yukiterus. One is 16 while the other is over 10,000 years old living in the 3rd Universe and you forget which servant turned traitor throughout the series. The ending upset so many fans that they made an OVA called Future Diary: Redial.
MatrixMiles17 I read the manga before watching the anime so I already knew how it ends without being confused. in fact I watched the anime only to know how Yuno sounds like (and I must say Tomosa Murata did a splendid job)
"Light Yagami single-handedly defeated L" I'm not sure what's wrong here, maybe because there was a freaking shinigami's helping him? oh wait....maybe because he had a freaking death note? Or better yet, he had another death note user who happens to be an overly attached girlfriend. Wow, single-handedly indeed.
***** Are you secretly Misa? Light never has been close to wining. All his actions were done in the sake of defeating L was either a deus ex machine or something that the author came up to let light get the advantage (Not that he wasn't having it)
***** In the video, she said that light alone were able to defeat L. This is completely wrong and here's why... Light had a death note: All he had to do is just having his name, since it's impossible without the eyes he had.. A shinigami: All he had to do is just command him and tell him to kill L, that's what precisely happened in the anime. Another death Note user: Misa, nuff said. And without all of these he wouldn't even come close to L.
Sasuke Uchiha Wow dude.. A: Bro, the entire series is about Light and his Death Note/Shinigami, without them, he wouldn't even have had to kill L, so shut up about his Death Note being unfair what is wrong with you? B: Yes, because the Shinigami was concerned about Misa. Or would you think making a Shinigami bow to your will is the work of someone who doesn't have any skills? C: Misa was there long before he killed L. It's not like she's only there to make this plan happen, she was just used in the plan to make it work. You tell me if you have to kill someone and I give you a nuke to do it, you won't use it because that's and unfair and convinient tool? Hell yeah you would. So yeah, Light did it single handedly. Because he literally played EVERYONE.
a comment on that Clannad part. if you missed the little snippets of that girl and that robot she created, that implies magical. also notice the various lights appearing in some episodes,.those were with granting light, that when you make a wish it'll come true. also, the girls imply during the new year visit of friends while Nagisa was still pregnant about parallel universe, and the only thing unanswered was how Tomoya got the memories of the universe.
That's what I was about to say tank you for writing down everything I was about to say and the fact they didn't notice means they didn't even pay attention watching the anime and they judge it seems legit
how'd ya know that he has this memory? plus: it IS kind of like time travelling in steins;gate, and if he really wished to have gone back in time, but with nagisa not dying, why shouldnt he keep his memory- i mean it DID happen. and if he didnt wish that, he wouldve had enough lights then, to wish a second thing and that wouldnt fit in right. so some things mustve changed.
Um, Light didn't single handedly defeat L. No, he played on Rem's attachment to Misa and basically forced Rem into a position where she "Had" to kill L to save Misa. Light didn't need to do anything. When it comes to Near changing the death note, that's not the entirety of it. Mello solved the case first off, not Near. Near even states this in his speech to Light. He had to die in the process, it took both of them to beat Light. Mind you 2 super genius kids raised with the intention of making them the next L would definitely be better than the real L.Which L also knew and why he didn't pick one of them to be a successor, he wanted them to work together. So in the end Light lost to L still.
Light would lose, not win. He was fated to lose in the end no matter how it happened. There were two Prodigies looking for him, he was doomed as soon as L died.
Umm... it was clearly stated that the only reason they realized what to do, was because Mikami went ahead and switched the book himself, if not for that Light would of won ._. I was angry because of that but I liked the ending regardless, I think it was great, just many people hated it, including author of this video, purely out of hate to L's disciples
Beating Light wasn't hard, Near wouldn't have revealed himself if Mikami didn't mess up so Light wouldn't have been able to kill Near regardless. Mello already handed Near the information he needed to know that Light was Kira, but he had to die to prove it, thus Near knew who Kira was. You really think Near would have went out there if he thought that Light could kill him? Really?
BTW *Black Butler* season *1* : *mostly filler* season *2* : *completely filler* season *3* : *canon* season *4* : *canon* Movie *BOA* : *canon* (Manga material =canon)
Thoughts on the Clannad After Story ending. The way I see it, and I'm not excusing the sudden left hook of the "wish come true" ending, but maybe it's a story reflecting Tomoya's deepest fears of becoming a father. Because honestly, if it ends with just a happy family, not much story will follow through other than raising a child and other life issues involving families. The more conflict the better, so why not have everything go wrong in Tomoya's life? There's more story to that. I'm not sure how they would make a satisfying ending if their current ending didn't exist, but I'm sure they would figure it out
They could have him get remarried to another family or have him get depressed. I mean, that's basically what happens in real life with most people. It would've been nice if they showed her funeral because the show could end with him knowing she was resting in peace. Then, when he would start raising his daughter, it would be the same conflict. Then, when his daughter dies, he finds her as well resting in peace next to his wife in a cemetery or something. Personally, I think it would've been nice to see a tragic ending.
The Clannad one wasn't bad, it was a case of miracles happen for good ppl who deserve it. Notice how those orbs of light was present everytime Tomoya did a good deed and help someone in need. I always took that as he has been building up good karma for doing so many selfless acts. The show proceeded to show us what his life should of ended up like but his good karma saved him from that tragedy. Well that's at least how I remembered it been a while since I watched it
wait.....what........WHY ISN'T SOUL EATER IN HERE!!!! that ending mad me soooooo mad I was like "what......that's.......that's it.......HOW COULD U END THE SERIES LIKE THAT!!!!!! THAT IS THE WORST ENDING!!!! WHY SOUL EATER WHY!!!!" and yeah that was my reaction to the end if soul eater
The ending sucked, but in a way, it ended the Asura fight. Even though it didn't AT ALL. It was clear that they ran out of time and budget and had to end it quickly. The ending may of not been enough but at LEAST it ended with a 'everything is okay now!' feeling, unlike most of the anime on this list.
Personally the worst death for me was L for me it's was like reading a Sherlock Holmes book and Sherlock dying halfway through it his successor never really matched that. :(
Clannad's ending wasn't just random and made so the viewer would feel better. It's not like school days where they killed Makoto just so the viewers would feel better. The ending of Clannad was so well thought and they gave you suddle hints in the beginning. You probably just didn't understand it. Clannad has a really good story. And it's not just an slice-of-life anime. Well it is, but not a slice-of-life like Daily life's of highschool boys. It's a slice-of-life because the story is about Tomoya's life. And yes it does have a lot of slice-of-life aspects to it. But that doesn't mean it's the same as litterly slice-of-life animes.
Yes... and its not as if they weren't hinting at something else going on behind the scenes from the very start. I would have thought the mysterious robot scenes would have... okay, nevermind. Looks like AAP isn't keen on the subtle things... like Kotomi and her parent's whole line of research. ... hmmm, idea for best anime ever; one that explains what happened so that everyone can GET IT.
John Lost but that was the beauty of the show all of those hints should have been enough to make us click on with it but nope some people just don't get it
youre totally right. clannad is, as well as air and kanon, more a philosophical anime. id even go as far, as to compare it to ghost in the shell. coz ghost in the shell sort of disguised its real background behind a futuristic action thriller, while clannad disguised the multiple-world-theory behind the nslice of life stuff, which actually blends in into the multiple world stuff just fine. and with the fuko-easter-egg in air, (she showed up in one scene, where she was just one random school girl) id say all these animes share the same philosophy at one point. not necessarily the multiple world theory, but something more complicated (or more simple, however you want to put it).
LaXMustage i guess they meant "just sad" not in a way, that "everything" was sad, but more in an out-of-talking kind of way. like if youd say to your friend: its just sad that you lost ur girlfriend. you dont mean, that everything was sad, but just that at one point, it was REALLY sad... u know what i mean? ^^
Technically, according to the creators of After Story, Tomoya was actually dreaming on how his life would be without Nagisa, which is why he acts like he just awoken from sleep.
I'm just gonna point out the obvious and say that Ojamajo Doremi got 3 (or 4, if you count Naisho which was kind of an in-between deal) more seasons, at the end of which, the show had not only matured slightly (considering how cutesy it looks) but the ending fits and makes sense. Even so, I don't have that much of a problem with the ending of the first season and could've easily seen it as a stand-alone series. Onpu's (Nicole) eventual fate was forshadowed, and the girls' decision to give up their magic was well reflected (as they got 12 hours time to think it over).
Yaaah, my introduction to Berserk was with the last 3 episodes being shown at my local anime club. There was a VERY pregnant silence in the audience of about 50 people after that happened... and rather than send everyone for a small break to process and stretch their legs, we heard "Aned now, here is Card Captor Sakura" My brain hurt so much after that incident.
You apparently didn't understand what happened. Ushio is the guardian of the other world. After her and nagisa died tomoya's soul goes to that world where ushio made it a body. They find they way back but ushio stays and fades away. Time is redone my that tragedy and because ushio fades from the other world nagisa lives to have ushio and they make it. Fuko lives as well
AnimeAmericaPodcast Look, its not that complicated as brandon says it. Actually i played the game, and Clannad was never a common "slice of life anime". Early from the beginning you can see how Tomoya and Nagisa made all the wishes of their friends come true. Actually when they fulfill a wish for somebody you can see one of that magical lights go to the sky. That magical lights were from some urban legend in the city, and thanks for fulfilling all the wishes of their friends, tomoya gets his own wish real. ( in the game, if you do not get all the lights of your friends, you can never make your wish of resurrect Nagisa and Ushio, and you'll just have the bad ending) Sorry for my bad english. Nice video!
AnimeAmericaPodcast It was originally a game and I thought it was well transformed into an Anime for those who didn't play the game. I guess I was wrong
Tomoya was actually taken to another timeline. One where Nagisa and Ushio DID NOT DIE. So, the world in which Nagisa and her daughter DID die, along with Tomoya,STILL EXISTS.
I have to disagree with the death note nitpick, cause you rely on the fact that light is ohh so amazing, while light is smart yes.....he based off what the show has given isn't as smart as L, you say he single handedly defeated L which is wrong, he had misa with magical killing eyes and nel a freaking God of death on his side at the time, notice how when he slowly started losing those things combined with the fact of how cocky he was (as the show foreshadowed) things weren't going his way to the point where he had to depend on mikami, and while mikami is intelligent yes, he's inferior to light, L, and near, heck even mello, Mikami was foreshadowed to make trash decisions without confirming whether it was what light really wanted so this fatal mistake led to lights downfall.
UGENESIS4EVA Also when Light's plans began to fall apart, he started calling out all the names of the people who aided him in his quest, to come save him. I knew Light was going to fail once he started pushing people out of his inner circle and becoming even more arrogant
When me and my buddy watched berserk we were looking on the internet for the next episode after it ended... We honestly didnt even know that was the end lol.
An arc that was technically just a flashback. Personally I'm so glad they did it they way they did, given how much they had to cut to get it down 13 volumes into a 25 ep series, it was better that they just straight up cut it at that moment then try and fit in what happened afterwards. You want what happened after, read the manga, and don't skip the first part because you watched the anime :P Whole experience is required.
Glad you're loving it, be glad you started now, when you finally catch up you be greeted by monthly releases (which basically only became true around when I last commented here). Though you have 38 volumes of material to get through before then so you have a bit before you catch up :P
These endings were more like a slap in the face, a bad ending to a good show. Because Eva was confusing and crazy the whole way, it had a fitting ending. The whole show was WTF, not just the ending, ya feel?
This list was not what I thought it was going to be. I thought this list was going to be more like Evangelion, where not just everyone died, but they descended into a bizarre other-world reflecting the characters inner psyche where he must overcome his own mind. I was expecting art house ending that made little to know logical seance, more resembling bad attempts at symbolic art. Most of these endings were just sad. There is nothing wrong with a story ending sad, it is called a tragedy and it is a classic form.
Youre not the only one buddy... NGE should have been #1 all along... or the title should have been changed to "endings that I personally really disliked". Aside from Panty&Stockings, Death Note, NGE and that thing a #10 no ending was really wtf... just either sad or poorly executed from a writing perspective
Berserk's was quite WTF, as it came kind of out of nowhere (not in a bad way), but also, was only supposed to be a beginning, manga-wise, and anime just transformed it into "ok story's over txk bai".
I am a huge advocate of the clannad ending. You said that you didn't know when time travel came into the slice of life series. It should be understood that, at least on my anime list, clannad is listed as supernatural. As for when it came in, they had been putting back story for the ending since the 1st season of clannad with the light orbs and the robot in the other world. I'll agree with you that it's confusing, but it does make sense if you actually think about it and research the tons of theories online instead of just saying you didn't get it.
Clannad wasn't entirely slice of life. There was tons of magic and unrealistic elements(for intance, Fuko being a spirit) throughout the story, so the time travel stuff at the end wasn't totally out of place. I can see why lots of people dislike the ending, but I don't think it's because it didn't make sense.
Death Note's ending was freaking perfect. First off, after defeating L, Light was unopposed for YEARS, obviously not honing his evil genius talents in that time while going about his regular business as Kira. When Near turns up Light has to return to the world of diabolical scheming and manages to fluke his way through the majority of the second half. At the end when he finally believes he has orchestrated his grand master plan with everything intricately designed from a technical point of view he is undone by human error. Not only does this make sense from the plot's perspective, it also humanizes Light, showing that at the end of the day, he is only human.
Ditto that. ___ I know its hard to swallow for fans that their beloved Light-sama has screwed up but he had it coming. It was a logical and fitting outcome IMO plus it took a long time, a lot of efforts and many casualties to finally stop him. ___ Both Clannad and After Story does have supernatural and fantasy listed in its genres. Also the Girl in the Illusionary World and the garbage doll, should give a hint. While not necessary to understand the anime I do recommend checking the visual novel. ___ Berserk animation did not had a bad ending, well it wasnt good but it simply focused on what happened before the events of the Berserk manga so for continuation people need to check that one out. ___ All I can say for School Days is Makoto had it coming. I got no problem with its ending. If Makoto wasnt such a womanizing dick none of that shit would have happened. Check out the VN if you are interested. The anime adopts a drastic route. VN has possible good endings too. ___ As for Black Butt-ler if they decided to continue or branch off from manga well its their decision and their full right regardless of fan opinion sadly. Dick move indeed but thats business. And honestly its A1 Pictures we are talking about. It would be more surprising if they didnt continue milking a franchise. A1 is like a shark once it smells blood its over though for A1 its money.
I’m gonna agree with Robin on the Clannad After Story part. It was a tearjerker sure when Tomoya’s loved ones end up passing away, but the whole magical time travel to “fix” that ending felt so out of place that it ruined Clannad.
Try not reviewing anime that only 5 people have seen, I have barely heard of any of these besides Black Butler, Death Note, Panty and Stocking, School Days, and Berserk.
The point he was trying to make was the animes he had listed are the popular ones. You said they were mainstream and that's what he said too, but you insulted him as well, so that's why I was confused with you guys.
I know this is an old video but I have to say it Clannad : after story's ending is perfectly logical I remember the rumor about the lights that goes inside a person's heart when he does a good action and grant him any wish remember when Tomoya forgave his father and had one of these lights that's where the "magical time travel" came from when Ushio died he wished that none of this would have happened and since he already had one of these lights his wish was granted
I feel i need to explain the Death Note ending but that would take too long. Bottom line is MIKAMI messed up. Light had no way of predicting that Mikami would suddenly decide to move on his own at the most crucial moment. Light had EVERYTHING down but Mikami ruined it. In other words, Light lost to "those twerps" AND Mikami
AntiSoraXVI Yes, but if Mikami were to just keep an emergency slip or page of the Notebook on him and wrote Naomi's name down, than he wouldn't have even needed to go to the bank and get the Real Notebook. Granted Mikami would probably never do this on his own accord sense his loyalty to his "god" (although this is contradictory sense he made an unnecessary movement which caused they're downfall so he actually might have) and Light would not have wanted him with hidden slips of the Notebook, he could have at least asked Naomi to ask Light permission in case of an emergency. So in a way Mikami's own stupidity caused the loss, not Lights.
Yeah. And also, idk about the anime, I've only seen clips of it in mvs and things like this, but in the manga things happen differently than what this shows. Like, in the books the plans (Light's and Near's) were both a lot more complex. Even the way that Light dies is different in the anime than in the manga. In the anime, he is shot to death, and in the books Ryuk writes his name in the Deathnote. Light was going to die anyways, I don't know why AnimeAmericaPodcast is calling so much shit about it since a lot of it is false.
I know this video has more than 15,000 comments and was posted 9 years ago, so likely no one will see this, but I want to comment anyway. As a fan of Ojamajo Doremi, I think the ending fit well with the series especially considering the last few episodes were about the Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, and even Onpu, relying less and less on magic and solving their problems without it. The ending isn't just a downer, before deciding to give up their magic to save Onpu, Doremi, Hazuki and Aiko have a conversation on why they wanted to be witches in the first place, where they all concluding the reasons they wanted to become witches could be achieved without magic. And they declare with Onpu, despite her being the reason they lost their magic, that all of them are not just friends, but best friends. Also, another big thing, that's not the ending the Ojamajo Doremi, that's just it's first season's ending, there's 4 other seasons of the show, and trust me while the show overall isn't very much of a downer afterwards, there's a lot more sadder moments in the show and the series' actual ending is much sadder, but is still very good & very fitting of the series in my opinion.
You really don't get the death note switch part don't you? If you had saw the series more thoroughtly you would have understood that there is more depth to it than just switching books Light did everything right, he was deafeted because of Mikami's fault. If he had listened to Light and didn't take the notebook out when it wasn't needed then he would have deafeted Near like A BOSS
i think the dissapointment part is light isn't actually defeated by planing but by the failiure of his agent, i mean for the battle of wits it's really kinda dissapointment
marlice hakurei I know right? Light gave him spesific instructions Mikami just wanted to be perfect and helpful for Kira and ended up screwing him big time
Peter Kalligas i can bet that you almost as pissed of as i am that the reason light loose is NOT becouse L's succesor is better than L but becouse Mikami is stupid enough to go to the REAL book, for God's sake didn't you atleast keep one page of real book like Light does in the past so if something emergency like this happend you didn't have to go to the real book when you(mikami) himself said to light that he is being followed, how stupid this KIRA's spawn can be
In real life, the smartest and strongest rarely win. Life is just too full of variables and you can't control every one. The way Kira died is more important than how he was beaten.
I watch this video several months ago to look for anime which has brainy thrilling sensation as Death Note Come #1 frightening screaming red face appear *gets traumatized instantly* Several months later *still get traumatized*
Alpha Vegas Seriously. I could never get into that anime. It was frankly pathetic. Sure it did new things for its time but novelty does not = excellence.
Angus MylesVA I was thinking that the entire time. Honestly, the original anime's ending was odd as hell. then there was End of Evangelion, which you need to be taking Acid or something to remotely understand while remaining mentally sane. I'm looking forward and scared of what they're going to do with Evangelion 4.44.
Ah berserk such a great anime and honestly this was just the tip of WTF in berserk. The madness, the zealotry, the massive scale of murder, rape, horror, love, sacrifice and emotion. Yep still one of my most favorite series of all time, would never want to live their unless I had a gun that could make black holes but still a cool place.
What made Berserk's ending even worse was that after Guts survived the initial onslaught was when Griffith was reincarnated as Femto and what he did to Casca which made Guts lose an his left arm and right eye in the process, what's even worse about this was in the manga was that Casca a was pregnant with Guts' child during the eclipse and right after it Casca gave birth to a demon fetus, welcome to the world of Berserk.
Hayes Temple I know so fucked up and that’s why Berserk didn’t get another season until much later with all the different remakes and the movies which of all it really sucked the new ones doing in CG let’s see how this works out hopefully will get to the end of the series finally
Byron Rush I heard that the producer of the Netflix castlevania series wants to do a reboot of berserk, this time with all the good 2d animation into it
Some other anime that could've made it on the list: -Assassination Classroom -Madoka Magica: Rebellion -Your Lie in April -Persona 5 -Angel Beats -Black Butler Book of Circus -Corpse Party -Erased -Vampire Knight -Stars Align (a bit) -Banana Fish
I like the Clannad after story ending. Its not really f****ed up. The show is a slice of life, but it has a slightly supernatural element. Yes its a Disney way to end, but its not like the producers said, "oh, the ending we gave the show is to sad, so we'll throw in some time travel because we can!" They gave it a supernatural touch. Fuko Ibuki (spoiler warning) is the ghost of a girl who was in a car accident. Not usually in a slice of life show. I think the ending makes perfect sense
exactly what i was thinking ! CLannad is a key anime . and most of the Key animes such as Angel Beats, Kanon, Little Busters, they all feature miracles. so it's NOT a WTF ENDING
Thats a wrong fact: Eclipse (where 1997 anime ends) is in Volume-13 of Berserk, the comic series is currently running with 38 published volumes. Its not 350, it is in fact 38 as of right now.
They took the first story about the snake guy from Volume 1, and then went through the Golden Age Arc, ending at probably the worst damned moment from Volume 13. And unlike the manga and the movie trilogy, there was no Skull Knight anywhere to be seen, so how they even got out of this was a mystery.
***** I think it depends whether or not you like or dislike Light. It isn't a bad ending. I think it makes sense (Light was so corrupted by the death note that when things didn't go his way it made him act insane and pathetically desperate). But, having liked Light, I found it just so cringeworthy to see him act that way. Also, I think most of the fans would've rather seen L kill light (Near is such a boring character). But you're not alone. The ending could have been far far worse.
***** Basically Light was too busy putting the cart before the horse. Near beat Light with common sense, swap the notebooks such a simple move that Light wouldn't consider it and didn't think his worthy opponent would either, oops.
Light believes he's a god. Yet even a child can show him that hes not. This ending has nothing to do with proper or right and has everything to do with subtext.
Rebecca Wolf I personally like Light a lot as a character. But I find the ending good/decent. I don't think he was acting pathetic for pathetic sakes he was just trying what he could in his situation, which was pretty much nothing. Not to mention another thing people tend to get upset about is how he was caught, but what they always forget is that he was caught because of something he did not know which no matter how smart you are you can't predict with 100% accuracy.
***** I loved Death Note even the ending. It had to end with Ryuk putting Light's name in his book and obviously Light could not triumph in WSJ. It sends a bad message. It wasn't a bad ending because Light at that point got sloppy as you expect from criminal masterminds. Light was an excellent character but he had to die. The ending helped Death Note become the masterpiece of manga/anime which it is.
***** i saw a fanmade ending that was fricken perfect. light ended up dead and thinks he gets to be a shinigami, ryuk just laughs when he says that and suddenly light dies of a heart attack. coming back and feaking out for a bit he ends up dying again, ryuk explains on the third one that the punishment for the deathnote is that he will experience every death he caused and afterwards his entire existence soul and all will be gone. light panics for a bit but then after another death he wakes up the good old light god complex decides he is going to use the time he has before he dies to try and make the king of the deathgods remove his punishment/make him a death god or something honestly i think this fanmade ending fit the theme/tone of the show and was really in character.... plut it would have lined up a possibility of a spin-off in the future that would be awesome to see.... but yeah, sadly just fan made T_T
***** i honestly think that Light was taken out so easily because he kept gaining all this power and it started messing with his mind and that made him weak
"When trouble gets you down and everyone you love is dead, just wish on a f**king star and all your dreams will come true!"
I’ve been doing it wrong all along!!!
To be truthful, the daughter dying was so depressing that an ex deus machina was not only excusable but necessary to keep the earth from being flooded with tears.
Read this as I watched it and I was shook. But also.
*_my new life motto_*
This needs to be a T-shirt
Sang Moon then..... don’t kill off the daughter?
Ha! She said Black Butler 3 was gonna suck!
Book of Circus was our saving grace from the travesty of season 2.
Darth Cinema Agreed! Season 3 was AMAZING!
Yeah season 2 sucked ass
season 3 could have had it take place in modern london with immortal ciel learning to adapt to the present day.
The anime should've stick to the manga because so much of the episodes is filler . The whole pluto, angel , rival demon ,crazy blondie is filler .
@Angel of Darkness 040 did you see the movie book of the atlantic?
I agree. It wasn’t that they out smarted him as much as he got to cocky and fucked up. That’s how L found out he was related to a police officer.
@@emo565 Light figured that, once L was out of the way, he had no way of being caught. What Light didn't count on, besides Mikami, was that one of the task force would ultimately turn on him so completely.
I suppose so, but that whole thing with Giovanni copying the notebooks at the end is still bullshit.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS IT OH MY GOD
Actually the Berserk Ending was built up. The whole season was a flashback with the first episode showing Guts has a vendetta against demons and a guy named Griffith. The rest of the season from episode 2 onward was showing how Griffith eventually became Gut's Mortal Enemy...
Also it's not the real ending. It's just the end of the Golden Age Arc.
It was the ending for 1997 berserk anime so she is right
So the entire show is a revenge story, revolving around two former brothers in arms Griffith and Gutts turned Mortal Enemies...
(now there's a compelling story...)
I’m actually gonna quote sage on this.
“A hell of an ending is still a hell of an ending.”
@@toaarky it’s an amazing series, read it after watching the anime and it’s definitely worth the read
Even when you ignore the Flays Forward Pilot which I feel was a mistake. Griffith's truly selfish nature was apparent from his introduction, and the Egg had set up as ominous many times.
Funnily enough, School Days was based off a video game. And the ending was a bad ending of the game. Wow.
Halloweengirl02 _ the other game summer days is weird to me
they should have done "All Her's" for it would have at least redeemed Makoto somewhat and also clean up the whole mess he created.
Halloweengirl02 _ the game had 22 endings half were good they chose a terrible one
This ending made me like it more
I watched school days I was shocked lesson learned never cheat on girls
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
For my #1 choice, I had to cut back on time and I didn't know how well the audience would react to a certain scene.
Buckpwns
*_* Your daughters like us? You just made my day
AnimeAmericaPodcast ya she loves you guys she found Zero and host club after you guys had it in the one that pissed you off or something.

XD Top 10 Annoying characters in anime!
I must Disagree with Happy Leason. Yes the first season had a bad ending but the show as a whole (2 seasons and 3 OVA) had a very good ending
If you think about it, the Death Note ending is pretty similar to what tends to happen in real life. Plenty of serial killers have been caught simply because they get cocky and start making mistakes.
Wow that’s a pretty deep dive into an ending I still hate the ending to Death Note though
Of course, not all serial killers' last words are "I would've gotten away with it if not for those meddling kids".
Why does the first anime look like an "chibi version of glitter force"....
strange ara wolf really? Really??? Ojamajo Doremi was released before Smile Precure aka Glitter Force
He never said glitter force came out 1st
numberjack1980 omigosh I haven’t watched glitter force in so long lol
SugaCookie_films xo_ honestly now that Saban (the company that dubbed Precure into Glitter Force) is owned by hasbro it’s hard day if well have another glitter force
numberjack1980 oh good lord yes
honestly Death Notes' ending isnt "wtf" at all...it makes perfect sense. once Light defeated/killed L, he believed no one would be able to stop him because he could easily outwit the local police and anyone else who would try to track him down, killing them if need be to cover his tracks. as far as i can recall (i could be wrong, it has been awhile since i picked up Death Note), Light had no idea L had successors to take over for him should anything happen to him. so Near tricking Light so easily makes perfect sense.
Death Note should have ended once Light killed off L. The final scene should have been Light laughing at L's grave after everyone else leaves.
Can you please shorten it?? Lmao
Bryana Corrigan protagonist*
In my opinion, the only good thing about Black Butler II is the opening.
I think the train episode was the only good episode in season 2. And the theme song was pretty good too.
And the ship!~
In *my* opinion, the only good thing about Black Butler II is that *_it's not canon_* thank goodness
@@chimes023 y e a h
I havent seen it yet.
It's 2020 and I'm rewatching this video for the nth time, Robyn just does such a great job making these things so damn hilarious.
Arngeir probably my 4th or 5th time
I personally loved the Death Note ending as there had been many close calls he faced in the pass where he won mostly by chance. The ending just shows that any one mistake that Light makes would lead to his demise.
How did that kid even get the real death note without him knowing
@@belleroseelizabethsmith8148 mikami (the delete guy) had a fake death note, with the real one hidden in a bank safe, just in case the good guys try to meddle with it. mikami went to the bank, one time too many, when the reporter lady was kidnapped, which tipped off the investigators, that theres something important in there.
NOTE FROM THE EDITOR #02:
The term "Magical Time Travel" is a JOKE!
I've had times when in a competition that I'm about to win, and I let my guard down.....
shit happens.
on the anime gurran laggan ending is that simon and nia marry but thats actualy good
oh and by the way did you found it sad that kamina died
Kit Lick my only quarrel with that ending was fixed on one of the live action movies where L is the one to defeat Raito/Light, it was fun however to see in the uncut endidng that Kira became a shinigami

Deisia Lind kaina I'm not mad at all. I actually agreed with most of it with clannad. I hate the show as well.
Deisia Lind kaina Oh no someone has a differing opinion than you better start shouting at them and call them rude just because they don't agree with you. But Berserk hasn't ended yet! The manga's still ongoing!
ChaoticSpiritLuna Not to mention the alternatr timeline research
Now that that rants over
As for the ending, it still bugs me.

AnimeAmericaPodcast Can you make a top ten most insane (or f**ked up) character thing with these Anime(s)-
10~ Misa/(Misa) Omanai DEATH NOTE ( Is that how you spell her last name?)
9~ Lucy ELFEN LIED ( She's practically a newer species of human called Diclonius. It left us in a total shitty cliff hanger.)
8~ Sachiko Sinozaki CORPSE PARTY TORTURED SOULS ( she's an undead 5 to 7 year old who had bee brutally killed by her father by choking and strangling her to death.
Look her up on Wikipedia.)
6~ Hinako ( SLEEPING, BATH TIME, AND TRAINING) This was a 3 episode Anime where an Anime girl helps you exercise and sleep, but when you watch it, it's like a porno rather than an exercise anime.
>:o WTF!?!?
I have more but I'll have to put them later. You might think I'm sick for posting this right now, but I'm 14 and Anime, no matter how intense or gory it is, doesn't scare or faze me... I'll put the final 4 later. Give me a reply as soon as you can please. :D Thank You!

I do understand them. And I can't review them because I don't even know how to make a frickin TH-cam video! :(
Sweetheart, the part about Light winning against L with all his genius but then losing to such a stupid crappy plan is the EXACT accurate depiction of human nature and the core moral of the story.
I believe you mean
an arrow to the knee

Honestly, the ending for Death Note makes sense and such. Light, with the help of Rem, defeated and killed L. Once Light had achieved that, he figured that he wouldn't have to worry anymore about anybody catching onto him and catching him. He didn't realize beforehand that L had successors. And with all of the information gathered by the police and L, and working together, Near and Mello were able to take Light down. Lights problem is that he got cocky after taking L down.

Tailor.
Meh i dont actually mind the deathnote ending. Its better than the netflix movie ending anyway.
That's why one should never get sloppy and let their arrogance get the better of them.
The reason light got rekt is because he was super hasty, careless and too confident.
That's what I thought too his own arrogance did him in.

I love how she gets so triggered with death note 😂😂
Clannads story requires ALOT of indepth attention to get its very complex symbology and convoluted foreshadowing.
it should be noted the "lost realm" concept can be easier understood if you compare it to the Afterlife world of Angel Beats. Another KEY production.
I dont know about that.
Most animes produced by the company origins from a games (visual novel)
Clannad is a game developed by Key released for PC and PSP
Air is a adult visual novel developed by Key released for PS2 and PSP same with Kannon.
Someone give this man a medal, read this lad's statement you ignorant turdheads.
To be honest, i was a bit lost, but you sir/ma'am explained it perfectly
Some one far more linguistic than i made an impeccable argument. Find her comment and upvote the fuck out of it people. He or she deserves it.
+Ana Nuann Posted
"The ending to Clannad is NOT out of place, the thing about Clannad is that it's an anime adaptation that simply doesn't work without the viewer having information that the original visual novel readily supplies.
With Clannad after story, time travel had nothing to do with it. The last part where Nagisa and Ushio lives is an alternate universe, where if they didn't die. So basically the anime gave viewers an inside look *if* Nagisa and Ushio lived. But they didn't. ;-;
+Multiapplecat I made a review where I rewatched the series. I take back what I said about Time Travel, but I still believe the ending to Clannad is ridiculous.
Anime America Hm, true.
Deleted double post *sorry*
i respectfully disagree with your opinion about Death Note.

Which in a weird way makes Tomoya its complacent cable installing deity.
haseothepkker Thank you for saying this so I don't have to.
My feeling on Death Note hasn't changed over the years. It ended the right way but for the wrong reasons.

"Light Yagami single-handedly defeated L"
I'm not sure what's wrong here, maybe because there was a freaking shinigami's helping him? oh wait....maybe because he had a freaking death note? Or better yet, he had another death note user who happens to be an overly attached girlfriend. Wow, single-handedly indeed.
You're so right
Praise you
*****
Are you secretly Misa?
Light never has been close to wining.
All his actions were done in the sake of defeating L was either a deus ex machine or something that the author came up to let light get the advantage (Not that he wasn't having it)
*****
In the video, she said that light alone were able to defeat L.
Sasuke Uchiha
Wow dude..
*wish granting orbs of light
That's what I was about to say tank you for writing down everything I was about to say and the fact they didn't notice means they didn't even pay attention watching the anime and they judge it seems legit
how'd ya know that he has this memory? plus: it IS kind of like time travelling in steins;gate, and if he really wished to have gone back in time, but with nagisa not dying, why shouldnt he keep his memory- i mean it DID happen. and if he didnt wish that, he wouldve had enough lights then, to wish a second thing and that wouldnt fit in right. so some things mustve changed.
Benjamin Oeding Tomoya's narration itself... he explicitly tells us, the viewers, on "why he has those memories"
Also, not saying I liked the ending, just needed to add to somethings.
Tashia Tanner Also, Light would win regardless if his "partner" did not went ahead and did things on his own, which Light didn't want him to do...
Really?

I liked the story, but it has a seriously fucked up ending
Second season ending made me angry.
+Ramses I feel the same! It is pretty unfair, I would have accepted that ending, it would've been great.
+Ramses I feel the same! It is pretty unfair, I would have accepted that ending, it would've been great.
Marlem Rguez Yeah! So much better than sebastian being a slave for all eternity
The thing is After Story mostly took place in a Dream about Tomoya without his wife
@@yatomcyato6459
It was a dream
The Clannad one wasn't bad, it was a case of miracles happen for good ppl who deserve it.
Notice how those orbs of light was present everytime Tomoya did a good deed and help someone in need. I always took that as he has been building up good karma for doing so many selfless acts. The show proceeded to show us what his life should of ended up like but his good karma saved him from that tragedy.
Well that's at least how I remembered it been a while since I watched it
Yeah bro after i saw the ending and i was so pissed. And now i want my tears back
Where future diaries at?
Polish Pegasis I Agree that ending was just wtfh
Have you seen the true ending? Future Diary Redial?
ikr
They finish the anime in the Ova - redial
true but the ending In OVA was not STILL THAT GREAT
wait.....what........WHY ISN'T SOUL EATER IN HERE!!!! that ending mad me soooooo mad I was like "what......that's.......that's it.......HOW COULD U END THE SERIES LIKE THAT!!!!!! THAT IS THE WORST ENDING!!!! WHY SOUL EATER WHY!!!!" and yeah that was my reaction to the end if soul eater
*of
The ending sucked, but in a way, it ended the Asura fight. Even though it didn't AT ALL. It was clear that they ran out of time and budget and had to end it quickly. The ending may of not been enough but at LEAST it ended with a 'everything is okay now!' feeling, unlike most of the anime on this list.
Honestly I don't think the manga ending is my better
o_o There's no need swear....
Lavender Place I recommend steering clear from the internet lol
Is it bad that I kinda wanted Light to win?
Nope! I wanted him to win too.
AnimeAmericaPodcast It felt like they we're trying to replace L with Near....
Personally the worst death for me was L for me it's was like reading a Sherlock Holmes book and Sherlock dying halfway through it his successor never really matched that. :(
Jerod Fetters Yeah, watching Death Note after L dies it just feels weird....
I wanted light to win sooooooo bad.
Came back for nostalgia and because this video is what made me wanna watch berserk back then. Currently rewatching.
Same here! First time I ever heard of it!
John Lost but that was the beauty of the show all of those hints should have been enough to make us click on with it but nope some people just don't get it
Evie Addy Yeahh.. Also how a lot of people say that it's just sad. Clannad had a really beautiful story, it's not 'just sad'.
youre totally right. clannad is, as well as air and kanon, more a philosophical anime. id even go as far, as to compare it to ghost in the shell. coz ghost in the shell sort of disguised its real background behind a futuristic action thriller, while clannad disguised the multiple-world-theory behind the nslice of life stuff, which actually blends in into the multiple world stuff just fine. and with the fuko-easter-egg in air, (she showed up in one scene, where she was just one random school girl) id say all these animes share the same philosophy at one point. not necessarily the multiple world theory, but something more complicated (or more simple, however you want to put it).
LaXMustage
i guess they meant "just sad" not in a way, that "everything" was sad, but more in an out-of-talking kind of way. like if youd say to your friend: its just sad that you lost ur girlfriend. you dont mean, that everything was sad, but just that at one point, it was REALLY sad... u know what i mean? ^^
Technically, according to the creators of After Story, Tomoya was actually dreaming on how his life would be without Nagisa, which is why he acts like he just awoken from sleep.
I wish that was explained a little bit
That actually makes sense
I never knew about happy lessons but when you said the kid had a ton of moms I'm like....
......
.......
......
Steven universe?!?
Ive been looking for Happy Lesson everywhere, and I just can’t find it.
12:51 Did time repeat itself? Becoz I saw Light seeing Light.
good one
You apparently didn't understand what happened. Ushio is the guardian of the other world. After her and nagisa died tomoya's soul goes to that world where ushio made it a body. They find they way back but ushio stays and fades away. Time is redone my that tragedy and because ushio fades from the other world nagisa lives to have ushio and they make it. Fuko lives as well
You just made it sound more complicated and ridiculous.
Brandon Gibbs Jr .... That just sounds ridiculous still... compared to the rest of the anime.
( in the game, if you do not get all the lights of your friends, you can never make your wish of resurrect Nagisa and Ushio, and you'll just have the bad ending)
Sorry for my bad english.
Nice video!
AnimeAmericaPodcast It was originally a game and I thought it was well transformed into an Anime for those who didn't play the game.
I guess I was wrong
Brandon Gibbs Jr Exactly! Ty
The Evangelion movie and the Berserk anime. Forever my favourite wtf moments :)
The worst ending for Deathnote would be someone walking up behind Light and shooting him in the back of the head.
Come to think about it that would be the worst ending to any anime.
Great, now I can't stop laughing...
Now I have to imagine every anime with an ending where someone just shoots them xD
Dekropolis lol there's actually an anime that ended that way XD
CarrotTop
which one?
I'm not a fan of Clannad after story but what if it was his...imagination? :/
He got a second chance at life once Ushio died from the other world. He was begging for a second chance so he got it.
I'm a Loner Clannad is so messed up
Tomoya was actually taken to another timeline. One where Nagisa and Ushio DID NOT DIE. So, the world in which Nagisa and her daughter DID die, along with Tomoya,STILL EXISTS.
I'm a Loner or a Nightmare that he takes control of
Judith Rios Yup! Btw the Tomoyo from the timeline where Nagisa is alive goes to the death timeline
Damn makoto got that dio treatment. His head was cut off and is being hugged by a person who loves him (I think) then there’s a boat.
Indeed. It definetily had no right to be so high.
I always found Death Note's ending to be fitting. It fullfils Ryuk's problen.
UGENESIS4EVA Also when Light's plans began to fall apart, he started calling out all the names of the people who aided him in his quest, to come save him. I knew Light was going to fail once he started pushing people out of his inner circle and becoming even more arrogant
I agree but it could've been done better especially since she wasnt wrong that Light did lose to a couple of people who werent even on L's level
When me and my buddy watched berserk we were looking on the internet for the next episode after it ended... We honestly didnt even know that was the end lol.
+myerr21 well its like a tiny part of the manga tho ........ its only one arc ^^
+Tom Hazell - just started reading the manga..... fucking amazing !!
Glad you're loving it, be glad you started now, when you finally catch up you be greeted by monthly releases (which basically only became true around when I last commented here). Though you have 38 volumes of material to get through before then so you have a bit before you catch up :P
Where is evangelion?
in a small clip as an example of ginax's endings.
+Ed huh…
It should have a spot on here tho
+The One Eva's awesome dude
yeah when the end of eva wasn't wtf than... what is live?
These endings were more like a slap in the face, a bad ending to a good show. Because Eva was confusing and crazy the whole way, it had a fitting ending. The whole show was WTF, not just the ending, ya feel?
I just knew Panty and Stocking would be here
Same, though the ending is just a literal what the fuck.
15:37 who knows the name of the song used?
This list was not what I thought it was going to be. I thought this list was going to be more like Evangelion, where not just everyone died, but they descended into a bizarre other-world reflecting the characters inner psyche where he must overcome his own mind. I was expecting art house ending that made little to know logical seance, more resembling bad attempts at symbolic art. Most of these endings were just sad. There is nothing wrong with a story ending sad, it is called a tragedy and it is a classic form.
stephencbarrett they actually have most of Evangelion's plot IN A GAME! REALLY BAD DESIGN, GUYS!!
Sam Hopkins what game!!??!!??
Yeah that ending confused the heck out of me
Youre not the only one buddy...
I'll agree with you that it's confusing, but it does make sense if you actually think about it and research the tons of theories online instead of just saying you didn't get it.
i loved doremi when i was a kid. i remember crying so much because of that ending. really emotional. doesnt deserve to be on the list.
School Days was distrubing 😂
T^T Naw. L was meh favourite character.
Yeah tbh I just think some of the amines that were listed she based more on personal bias as opposed to actual plot
Ditto that.
___
I know its hard to swallow for fans that their beloved Light-sama has screwed up but he had it coming.
It was a logical and fitting outcome IMO plus it took a long time, a lot of efforts and many casualties to finally stop him.
___
Both Clannad and After Story does have supernatural and fantasy listed in its genres. Also the Girl in the Illusionary World and the garbage doll, should give a hint. While not necessary to understand the anime I do recommend checking the visual novel.
___
Berserk animation did not had a bad ending, well it wasnt good but it simply focused on what happened before the events of the Berserk manga so for continuation people need to check that one out.
___
All I can say for School Days is Makoto had it coming. I got no problem with its ending. If Makoto wasnt such a womanizing dick none of that shit would have happened. Check out the VN if you are interested. The anime adopts a drastic route. VN has possible good endings too.
___
As for Black Butt-ler if they decided to continue or branch off from manga well its their decision and their full right regardless of fan opinion sadly. Dick move indeed but thats business. And honestly its A1 Pictures we are talking about. It would be more surprising if they didnt continue milking a franchise. A1 is like a shark once it smells blood its over though for A1 its money.
I totally agree
Before watching: "Berserk better be on this." After watching: "I am please."
Bullshit. Those are actually popular anime.
The point he was trying to make was the animes he had listed are the popular ones. You said they were mainstream and that's what he said too, but you insulted him as well, so that's why I was confused with you guys.
Dumbass, I've seen 100s of hours of Anime. From Attack on Titan and Naruto to the small ones like School days and Requiem of the Phantom
Not everyone only watches anime that are mainstream
*Gets Popcorn*
I know this is an old video but I have to say it
Clannad : after story's ending is perfectly logical I
remember the rumor about the lights that goes inside a person's heart when he does a good action and grant him any wish
remember when Tomoya forgave his father and had one of these lights
that's where the "magical time travel" came from
when Ushio died he wished that none of this would have happened and since he already had one of these lights his wish was granted
+douglas “Ansury” wahid Yes. The ending may sound strange but it does have foreshadowing earlier on and this is even explained earlier.
+Chihiro chan4242 Remember the genius girl's parents thesis on multiverses. Always assumed the dead world was one of those places.
Light made Mikami a liability to begin with. You're sounding like Light trying to pin the blame on Mikami.
zkits0 ...That... is actually true... Still Mikami was doing great until he decided to act on his own XD. My first claim stands!
Ultra Blood ...but that was my point all along. That Mikami messed up... Idek anymore.
It also didn't help matters that Mikami yelled out "GOD!" as soon as he saw Light, confirming to everyone present that Light is Kira.
i think the dissapointment part is light isn't actually defeated by planing but by the failiure of his agent, i mean for the battle of wits it's really kinda dissapointment
marlice hakurei I know right?
Anime: How do we fix?
Anime: Oh I know go back in time
I like Death Note's ending. Light's breakdown is one of my favorite moments in anime.
I watch this video several months ago to look for anime which has brainy thrilling sensation as Death Note
Come #1 frightening screaming red face appear *gets traumatized instantly*
Several months later *still get traumatized*
I guess you never saw End of Evangelion
Freakin hated the movies the main character was such a bitch. He says he isn't gonna do something but does it anyway?
Alpha Vegas Seriously. I could never get into that anime. It was frankly pathetic. Sure it did new things for its time but novelty does not = excellence.
Avinavi Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more.
Deathexia00 Again, I couldn't disagree with you more.
When your friend says anime is for kids, show them Berserk.
What the heck?
Byron Rush I heard that the producer of the Netflix castlevania series wants to do a reboot of berserk, this time with all the good 2d animation into it
Biggest wtf ending was in Hellsing ultimate. Such a badass gory anime just to end with the "I'm not feeling so well" disintegration meme 😤
You’re a cyborg, WHY ARE YOU A CYBORG?!?!?! LOL, Thank you Hellsing Ultimate Abridged.
Some other anime that could've made it on the list:
-Assassination Classroom
-Madoka Magica: Rebellion
-Your Lie in April
-Persona 5
-Angel Beats
-Black Butler Book of Circus
-Corpse Party
-Erased
-Vampire Knight
-Stars Align (a bit)
-Banana Fish
LOL Corpse Party don’t count haha I mean the fucking name “CORPSE PARTY” is BOUND to be dark hahh😂
Assassination claasroom was tend to end like that
I do agree with some, but remember this video was uploaded in 6 years ago.
Assasination classeroom has a perfect ending
Also, book of circus is their top tens perfect ending
Ok I disagree with persona 5, assassination classroom and erased. Those 3 animes had a really good storyline and have a great cast of characters
I knew berserk was gonna be number 1 😂😂😂
And the movies still gave 0 compensation
+Gaster Sans the new anime starts this summer!
yeah, berserk rules
you knew this is going to be # 1
When I saw the title of this video, the first thing that came to my mind was Berserk. :D
This video was the reason i found out about berserk 7 years ago. I am forever grateful
fun fact: the berserk anime only takes place in the first 12 books out of something like 350.
And unlike the manga and the movie trilogy, there was no Skull Knight anywhere to be seen, so how they even got out of this was a mystery.
no there are only 40 books containing 350 chapters
It's still fucked up anyway
Prediction: Death Note is going to be here
***** I think it depends whether or not you like or dislike Light.
Wow, the ending of Deathnote got shredded to pieces... O_O
Well, it's the best way to get rid of it IMO.
***** i saw a fanmade ending that was fricken perfect. light ended up dead and thinks he gets to be a shinigami, ryuk just laughs when he says that and suddenly light dies of a heart attack. coming back and feaking out for a bit he ends up dying again, ryuk explains on the third one that the punishment for the deathnote is that he will experience every death he caused and afterwards his entire existence soul and all will be gone. light panics for a bit but then after another death he wakes up the good old light god complex decides he is going to use the time he has before he dies to try and make the king of the deathgods remove his punishment/make him a death god or something
honestly i think this fanmade ending fit the theme/tone of the show and was really in character.... plut it would have lined up a possibility of a spin-off in the future that would be awesome to see.... but yeah, sadly just fan made T_T
Syllaren Could you give me the name of it? Or a link?
***** it appears my memory was a bit flawed, but still like it.
th-cam.com/video/TE6beI7AVc4/w-d-xo.html
***** i honestly think that Light was taken out so easily because he kept gaining all this power and it started messing with his mind and that made him weak
17:15 I felt the same way when that ending came up! I was like “WHAT THE FUCK!?!?” I just had no words to say😑
You are a very amusing and entertaining young lady :|
I like you.
Subbed
Why thank you!
