As most of my followers know from my previous videos my relationship has been struggling and now has finally come to a head. And like so many break up from time to time things get nasty. The bar is in Limbo. In order for me to take back full control of the bar i have to buy out my exes share. Which to be honest wasn't something i ever expected i'd have to do. As i paid for the bar fully. But being in Thailand im not completely blame free as the lease on the bar was put in my exes name. Anyway i can go on but the bottom line is i need to raise funds to get full control of my bar. If worse comes to worse i may have to sell the bar to pay here out if i cant borrow the money or get an investor to help me out.

Palmy, so sad to hear this. Is the 200k to get you out of the company/agreement with the bar? I’m assuming it is.
Just walk away and maybe lay low for a while. Then use your big asset, that is this channel and your community, to build things up again, get another bar or get a managers job. Many bar owners will want someone with your following to work for them.

As someone who has lived here for over 15 years, the first thing you need to do, if you haven't already, see a lawyer and find out where you stand legally. Opinions and like ars.... everyone has one.
A Thai lawyer will just fleece him and if the business is in the Thai Ladies name you are throwing good money after bad. And besides he is skint

Walk away go back to Aus and get yourself back on track. I met you for a second time last September and I could sense you was at a low ebb.. I don't want to say negative things about any Thai lady. But unfortunately in pattaya cash is what matters. And if you are lacking then you are on a hiding to nothing.
Man !! I thought you guys were the exception to so many stories I have witnessed on TH-cam, I went through a separation with my ex wife, she waited till I got mentally ill from running a pizza shop in Australia, a very successful pizza shop which finished up with me in hospital..
Then she locked me out and took everything , I had to borrow my elderly fathers cloths to get out of hospital and appear in court , but the courts saw through the piece of shit and now I'm happy .....hope you are ok ... I've just started to enjoy your videos

Agreed ...if you give her 200k I guarantee she will be back for more! Been coming to Thailand for 40 years, lived and worked at a University for 4 years....the song remains the same!!! She will keep turning up at the bar demanding money....sometimes with local thai hoodlums!! Sell the bar and go back to Oz....next time dont trust anyone there if you return!!
The only thing that should be in her name is the licenses. Sell everything in the bar. Keep all the money you make and run.
@@phuketprivateisland441that is if he created a legit company. I don’t think he ever established a legit company. A Thai person can go get all the licenses without all the hassle of a legit company. Plus even if they had a company,nothing inside the bar is tied to a company. It would have been purchased with his own money… not a company’s money. He could leave her with an empty bar and then it’s up to her whether to close shop or put all new things in it.

Sorry to hear your relationship has ended. It’s a story I’ve heard too many times in Thailand, relationship ends and money is needed to by Thai partner out of bar. You met this lady on Thai friendly I believe as you were looking for help why you recovered from your injury.
Quickly into a relationship and then quickly to start up a bar with your ex running the bar with , I assume her name on the lease.
All your money into the bar and none from her I assume.
Look palmy I’ve been to your bar and you seem like a good guy but I think you’ve been dead set played here from the start.
If you do find the cash and give it to her you will need to pay for legal services also to assure no further demands can be made by your ex.
Then you will need to find another way to keep the bar open , a problem in itself as your on a retirement visa mate.

Just reading some of the suggestions to just give her this or that, as if to say Greg has all the power - I'm not sure a lot of guys realise she has power, especially being a Thai.
In one case I know of in Phuket, the ex turned up with a cop and confiscated the guy's new ute even though it was in his name.

A lot of good advice below. I would suggest to cut and run, then take a break for a while and start a fresh. Though Palmy you are attached to the bar for all the work you put into it, you can do it again as you have the skill sets and experience. Like Phil @LePubPattaya says, you will be a sort after person which would be a good break for you at a new place.
I'll sort this mess out, although it has cost me big time.

Palmy, you can turn this around easily. You’ve got a TH-cam channel with nearly 6k subscribers. This is your free advertising channel. Monday night is Pie night with half price cocktails and meet Palmy night. Tuesday is Chicken Palmy night with a free beer. Wednesday is buy 5 get 7 night. Thursday is half price bar fine night. Friday is happy hour all night. You get the picture, you’ve got the audience here! Create something ridiculous, shout it out to your crowd and people will turn up and tip money in your pocket. A 1 video clip every day saying get to my bar will change your life.

I remember years ago in Sydney a Thai working girl scamming a customer for 10k ended up in 20 pieces in a garbage bin....even the hard as nails mde said she was a C.... I had a good education from those girls...never get attached....friends yes they'll do anything for you but never give them loans or anything like that.Buy them meals,drinks and pay for their services but keep it on that level.Youll have more fun.
I’ve watched your channel for quite some time now and you talk about depression quite a bit supplement your diet with vitamin D capsules. Take 8 a day there’s fantastic results with vitamin D and depression. May be rather than give her 200.000 baht offer her a income every month for a certain amout of time which would be better for you coz you can keep the bar if you give her the money that she wants.

Maybe time to take a break from it, for a new perspective on things. Sorry but in over 30 years of going there I wouldn't invest/touch a bar there with a barge pole. It looks like an attractive lifestyle, but unless youve got buckets of money to throw at it, it regularly seems to end in horror stories. Also in the long run not good for physical or mental health. I walked by your bar a few times but see a differently lady opening the bar. Sorry to hear about your problem but I know being here 8 yrs relationships are all short term here and these ladies can be quite toxic. People dont realize narcissism is quite prevalent here and even cultural. If you can cut ties completely, best thing. Can you get her to buy you out? Or ask a lawyer about monthly payments to her. Take care mate. I havent to well either i have a respiratory condition...stress doesnt help my immune either at my age. Things will work out this is temporary..
Honestly, I've been going to Thailand for years. And I've seen this played out so so many times. I don't know what's more surprising, the fact it happens so often or the fact that these blokes are stupid enough to fall into this trap time after time after time again. You couldn't make it up....

forgone conclusion in thailand. Woman hitches to a foreigner - he funds business, then one day it is payday. She loots the lot.
What do they do? Do the same. Sell the bar to a trusted pal for a low price. Give her half. Close the bar. And a month later buy it back, and you have your bar back, and she is paid off cheaply.

How longs it take to make 200k baht? It’s only $10k aud! Need a buffer sometimes for these unexpected dramas, although maybe going into business with a Thai is never a smart idea.
the lease is in her name ok so if you walk away going on previous vids you lose at least 16000 of some western currency and she holds all the cards ? 200k is about 4.5k uk so assets car bike etc does she fully understand the revenue from utube and how that would stop dead ? the idea is build a case and make a low ball offer isnt the lease up soon anyway ?

If the ex cant fund running the bar without you being involved then you are in a far better position you think you are, negotiate it down.....if you are not on good terms pay a farang lawyer to to do if for you.

I sympathize. When matters of the heart intersect with business, it can be excruciating. I am curious about this phenomenon of linking up with Thai partners - particularly female ones that you are involved with. Can you not hire agents/lawyers when you need Thai signatures or some shell Thai corporation? Foreigners in romantic situations with Thais need to remind themselves constantly - that they are the best option available for that women... That the foreigner gets to dictate the terms and limitations of the relationship. The woman may pout or disagree... but in the end - she will accept what she is given, because you are the best option for her. If she chooses to reject that... well that is the red flag that should not be ignored.

Is he making any money from the bar? I thought the extra Baht demanded by the GF is to buy her out? A lot of businesses in Asian countries have to have an Asian majority partner...can't be owned solely by foreigners.
