- From my vehicle acting very weird, to a UFO flyby, there is plenty of strange going ons as i continue the long drive.

Your "poltergeist" was 100% the broom. The brooms love to lodge themselves into parts of the car and when that happens, the physics get upset thus wreaking havoc on the vehicle and you. In your case the broom lodged itself through the floor and was acting like a pole vault for even the tiniest of bumps, thus throwing your car up and about. The diesel can is not the problem at all, it's the broom. I recommend finding a basket, putting it either in the back of the car or on the roof, and trying to shove the broom in it which will disable the brooms haunting, poltergeisty physics, rendering it pretty much harmless. Once you do that, you shouldn't have a problem. Keep up the amazing content and I can't wait for the next episode of the long drive!
Best storage is once you find a truck with side rails (like a storage box is missing) because you can just set it there and it freezes in place. Also great for barrels.
I like putting a basket on the side of the car, then putting the broom in it so it sticks straight up and pretending it is the radio antenna!
Correct! Not to mention that the collisions and baskets don't work for the first few frames when you first load in the game. Which is no big deal for stuff like the barrel, because it just bounces back if it's clipping. But the broom is so long and thin, it just gets wedged halfway inside other stuff when you load, even if it was fine before.

(Anyway, thanks for the tip ahead of time. As i approach 900km, I have yet to run across the broom. Had no idea it was haunted and needed a basket)
@@snickle1980 i think it's mainly found in the starting well. But I've seen it rarely in others and maybe the house's 2nd floor.
You have 2 empty jerry cans that hold 10L each, your barrel of diesel only has like 18L in it, put the diesel in 2 jerry cans, ditch the barrel. Keep hubcabs on your wheels and carry 1 complete spare in good condition, throw out the rest of the wheels/tires. Keep the water one up front with you, put everything else in the back.
But that would make sense and be so much less fun to watch.

@@spamanator666 Didn't catch that typo, sorry, yeah, 20L each, so you really don't need that barrel at all.
The sausages can be hung from the inside roof of your car, or from anything really... I have them lining the Lada 2105 roof right in front of the back window, like ten of them, a neat little thing to watch them bounce around as you drive.

For lights: the orange work lights can be placed into crates mounted anywhere on your vehicle, power them on and they will act as short lights.
There is also vehicle front grills that have light sockets, these grills can be mounted in BUMPER slots. Meaning you can have front and rear lights. And Bus headlamps can be mointed in round car lamp slots.
Ufo has a AOE of no power. Normally they only spawn at night. I want to chase one via broom.
The broom clipping through the boot xD Probably scraping the road and occasionally catching on it, pole vaulting the car.
It might have been a good idea to have grabbed the new trailer and the fridge. Inside the fridge is a physics free zone and might be large enough to put some jerrycans inside.
Putting some things in the trailer as opposed to in the boot likely would have helped with the poltergeist car as well.
The trailer had no wheels, though he had a couple in the trunk.
@@nocount7517 There actually were two trailers at the first place. The new one had no wheels, but the rusty trailer had two wheels.
Worrying about carrying the barrel with the precious diesel, if only there were some convenient smaller containers said diesel could be put into

All that glitching out seems to have been that back right rear tire...you can see it glitching into the car when the other side isn't.

...bruh, well at least you heard them this time.
Things that cause glitching:
1: crates that touch. If crates touch one can grab the other, if both are mounted to your vehicle things freak out.
2: large objects freezing. Stuff that is bigger than a crate can still freeze if overlapping the hitbox, these can have unintended freeze placement. (Move your crates to the roof so they don't touch your loose cargo)
3: high speeds. Personal limit is 100.
4: Bendy bus. Never use the bendy bus. Trailers don't stick on reload, and the back part loves to glitch.
The best vehicle is the covered cargo truck or fuel truck. They have side mounted freeze zones that can hold large objects. I usually carry a barrel in one, broom on driver side. And you can carry spare loaded guns on the driver side.
Anyone else screaming that the water jerry can was likely in passenger footwell? Love TLD series though Alex please don't give it up

He should write a little list of what he needs next to his computer, like the lights and interior mirror, and go through it at each stop
Might need to re-evaluate what you actually *need* to be carrying in the car. I don't think you needed the two empty Jerry cans or the spare wheels.
This this this!! There is basically no need to carry spare wheels (esp. car wheels) or so many spray bottles, etc. because they take up space you don't have.
I have commented the same. Empty the diesel barrel into a jerry can. I think he only has like 18 litres. Save a tonne of space. No need to hoard wire brushes, sponges and spray bottles. One of each is well enough considering he uses them what, once every other episode?
If I recall the reason why he brings so many is because he's expecting/hoping to find a particular vehicle and doesnt know what condition it'll be in. In fairness in a game like this it makes sense on a basic level to hoard a few repair items, but yeah, being more mindful of the dozen physics objects in the back that arent tied down in the back might be more helpful.
@@TheRealAlpha2 he's looking for a pick-up, and still doesn't need to carry half the stuff he has in the car. Even if the pickup is in fairly rough condition, the brushes/sponges/wheels all spawn in regularly enough and his car has 4 decent enough wheels already on it which can be used on the pickup
Alex, please fill your water jerry can and extra radiator before you leave that building. Might as well have a drink too. You could make your life considerably easier too by getting rid of a few containers. Chuck the barrel of diesel and stick the diesel in a jerry can to save space and give the physics engine a break. Look at combining your squirty bottles to reduce the number you have. Considering how little you use them, one or 2 should be plenty. Chuck the binoculars too, you don't need them any more. The normal zoom is perfectly fine.
In my experience it's the station wagon. It bottoms out *so* much and is easily overloaded.
Too much weight in the car is making the rear tire clip into it and causing funny shenanigans. (this is early on in the video) and also get a trailer, and organize your trunk. You'd be surprised how much you can fit into the back of the car when you organize it. It can also happen to the trailer as well. I would constantly spin out because my trailer was super overloaded and loaded funny. Also if you ever get the Skoda (rear engined car) and you want to put the bus engine in it, use a bus radiator. The fill cap clips into the interior and will be accessible. Highly reccomend.

I've run into that pinging issue before. The way i fixed it is taking all the panels and wheels off and put them back on. Kinda "resets" the car physics

I found out that barrels are your worst physics enemy.. it sucks to pass up such a nice thing to transport fluids in, but it doesn't like being in a car or truck. Being out of food and/or water won't kill you immediately, but it will slowly deplete your health bar, so you were fine at the beginning, only searching for water at the earliest convenience was advised. Blow-up dolls are explosive, one of the F buttons ( F4 or F5 I believe ) will leave a third-person camera in one spot ( weird but can be useful ). Pressing C while driving will put you in 3rd person perspective ( this is super helpful with traveling at top cruising speed ) and headphones allow you to hear your surroundings clearly so you won't get snuck up on by speedy rabbits.

So your glitch issue wasn't the barrel it was the broom glitching through the floor of the car. That probably happened when you loaded the game. I've noticed in my game at loading the items seem to lose the collision physics temporally and fall through my car.

The barrel only has 17Lt of diesel in it, I'd transfer it to a jerry can and ditch the barrel.

What you don't know about Jeffery, is that his last name is Wick. A cousin of Jonathan.
You got too much stuff in the car and sometimes saving the game then reloading fixes common glitches. You don't need to carry spare wheels or tyres as they do not degrade, all you need to carry is a can of water and some food, the only time you need to carry fuel is if you plan on doing mileage without stopping.

OK you can use existing radiator to fill up a new one (use rad like Jerry can)... barrels cause too many issues... decant fuel into Jerry cans .... use fridge in trailer to cheat the physics

The reason your car glitched out is, when you load in the game, all the objects "fall" for a few physics frames before the collisions and baskets are enabled. This normally doesn't cause issues for big objects like the barrel, because they'll bounce back up, but the broom is very long and thin, so it immediately gets wedged inside other collisions. That's why it was fine before, and after a load, it went all glitchy.

You can "reload" the spray bottles and paint can things just like gun magazines... I always do it to reduce the amount of stuff I have to carry around in the vehicle.
I don't think the barrel was the problem, I think it was the broom catching on the road and throwing the car around.

And cross your fingers that an AK mag spawns when you reload.
Re-watching this now, I'd of consolidated everything I could of. Dumped the excessive crap I absolutely didn't need and been done. Especially after spinning out/wrecking for the 5th time.

Alex, try taking bus headlights and see if they will fit, or if you can mount any other headlights like extra ones.

If your car is glitching out like this try to go into the pause menu and resuming again. It might fix the problem

I have never seen a UFO land in this game, but I did encounter one while on foot and managed to shoot it with the AK; it didn't seem to have any effect, sadly...

Why didn't you take the bus? It has much more room for storage, you had plenty of diesel and a few spray cleaners and brushes would of had it looking as good as new!
Because it's incredibly slow. He could've fixed it up no problem but the buses are really slow
