Hey Alex, several pointers for you. 1. You can press H for the vehicle horn. 2. While driving, you can hold the right mouse button to see further without the binoculars. 3. You can switch items in your hotbar without dropping anything. For example, if you want to move the item in slot 2 to slot 4, choose the item in slot 2 and then hold 4, and it will move the item to slot 4. 4. While driving, you can center your view by holding the Tab button. 5. If you start a game with a vehicle with a round Speedo, you can transfer it over to the truck, so you can keep track of the distance. Since the distance doesn't transfer from vehicle to vehicle.

You can rub the genie lamp until the gold comes off and you see a design. The lamp will also start glowing.
Yeah it’s useful for seeing in the dark if you don’t have the lamp light
I don't know why he didn't try it. It's kinda obvious to rub it.
To get fully shiny truck you will need to shine the grille, the right door, the complete backside (And I mean literally everything, all covers, the frame and the door) and all of the wheels. I think your bumper can also use polish. Also, if u do crash and bleed, u can use polish (And I think maybe a sponge) to clean up the blood. Oh and u can polish the lamp with your hand!
Both the polish and the sponge work on the blood, and I think that rubbing the lamp doesn't polish it, but it makes it emit light to act as a flashlight

Also be careful when shooting guns near the truck because you might end up getting blown up.

Jokes aside, you should look around these places more and pick up more jerry cans, brushes, sponges and magic sprays so you can fix up your wheels and everything else on the truck. Everything can be magic sprayed including the radio (which you can turn on), steering wheel, glove box hatch, sun flaps and seat. Makes for a much sweeter ride. B)
He probably doesn’t turn the radio on for the risk of copyright issues
@@Ak.b.065 All the stuff on the radio is made for the game or is copyright free so that's not a worry. That said, some of the talk on the radio could get in the way of Alex's narration, I guess. :)
When attaching a basket, the basket's center will be where you reticle is pointing at. So just use the reticle instead of the basket for refference when you're attaching them.

You seem like the kind of guy that has notifications on. If so: please try to tell him early on in the release of the video to stand well clear and shoot one of the propane looking cans with the red stripe.
Your truck can get even shinier, even the engine, it just takes longer the the shinier you want it. Also, I think you need the lamps to put in the big antenna to summon ufo
Pretty sure you can't polish the engine but the grille can be.

Engines and radiators cannot be polished.
The truck having a fit every time he tries to mess with whatever is inside is quite hilarious.
I found the truck with the enclosed back is very glitchy because everything in the back is not secured (unless you use baskets.) If you find a flatbed it is less glitchy and easier to attach the baskets to to avoid losing everything. I have also found it beneficial to carry two extra tires and an extra radiator as these are some of the first things that go flying off when it gets real glitchy and you start to tumble.

That’s the rack where I keep the green 20L cans, there’s one on each side and you can easily fit 3 cans in each rack.
If you have a basket that’s stuck clipped through something you can free it by attaching it again (press f to detach, press g to attach it again, hopefully it won’t be clipped through the second time)
When you pick it up, you can switch inventory slots, move away and after switch back to the basket, you will have it freed.
@@leventelenoir I didn’t even realize you could equip it to a slot, is that new? I tried that once and it didn’t work.
I stuck lots of baskets on the outside of my truck as I got fed up with trying to get in the back, plus you can put those hand lights in them and they light up the area around the truck at night which is handy and because they are in attached baskets they wont fall off.
How to reduce the 'Items being rebound to baskets' effect when loading in:
-Park on terrain before saving.
These videos are perfect for Monday evenings to recover from the horror that is the start of the working week!

Have you ever come across the concept of an "Arrow of Total Destruction"? It works on that same principle...great fun!
Alex. The small jerry cans can actually store in your inventory. To easily get them into the cab pick one up, switch to another item slot, climb in the truck, then switch back to the small jerry can. Also, turn your steering sensitivity down. The default is 1, which makes everything way too twitchy. I keep mine around 0.4 - 0.5 and the vehicles handle loads better.

Alex, it'll handle much better with the truck engine and also if you clean the tires. Just take them off the rims and use the spray on them until they look like the spare you picked up. Keep up the great work.
Hold the oil can and then switch to your weapon to get in the driver's seat. The weapons don't collide with the vehicles when held. You can then switch back to the oil can to fill. Saves double handling.
I find the truck gets a bit sketchy past 140KPH. Way faster than the 80 my previous car would do before going haywire, although I did have it full of crap.
Also, the radio stations are pretty good in this game. They talk about the mysterious planes in the sky.
Also, hold R to reload quick without having to mash the key.
Rub the lamp.

There aren't lol, just the road is different and sometimes there is grass everywhere that makes it hard to see anything on the ground

The Long Drive tips for Alex. 1, you can drop a basket where you want it, pick it up from the baskets center then attach and there should be not glichyness. 2, you can magic spray a tire on a wheel, as long as the wheel isn't attach to a vehicle. Hope this helps. :)
Pay more attention to yout gauges. The reason you were going slow was there for all to see, on the dash. When you were driving the Renault 12 there was an oil pressure warning light on sometimes, if you didn't die you were probably diue for a breakdown...
the oil pressure light comes on if you're driving too fast. You need to back off the throttle in that case until the light goes away. Also, I noticed that during the night the light doesn't light up as often as during the days with heatwaves, maybe it has to do something with the outside temperature?
@@ndc5544p you're confusing it with the temperature warning light, when the engine is overheating
The oil pressure light comes on when the engine does not have enough oil or the pump is not working - can sometimes happen when trying to start while the engine is very cold

How to mount basket:
-If you want the basket level with the surface you're mounting it on, allow it to settle by dropping it in the desired spot with 'F'
-Find the centre of the basket and pick it up.
-Press G without moving the basket.
Alex, I’ve just watched another video about the genie lamp and you have to rub it with your hand and it develops diamonds on it. So just rub it with your hand and wait for it to do something. 👍🏻

I'm actually glad the vehicle isn't getting painted orange this time because that color just blends in with the desert.
Me: Starts mentioning that you can refill paint cans.
FailRace: Refills paint can while I'm typing.
Me: "Well then. Be that way. Bet you didn't know you can crouch by scrolling the mouse wheel with your hands empty."
How to get glitched items out of other items:
-Rotate the stuck item out.
The map may be useless, but a spare siphon stored in the glovebox is handy, you should have taken it.
Also use one of the two spare spray bottles to fix the front wheel.
The bus engine makes the truck roll out something fierce.
Cars can drive on 3 wheels very well, speed is not affected I recommend one wheel in the front and 2 in the back, you will lose some steering but it's very manageable
Oh man! You dropped the Mag for the AK! when you reload it drops the mag currently in the gun to the floor!
There's also a sneaky way to dupe the mags ;)
The bars and limbs are incredibly useful for making cages and barriers to stop stuff from moving around.
those bars saved my cargo when i first found a truck, the truck was a completely stripped shell, so i whacked my car engine and wheels on there, and used 2 bars that where laying around to block off the back door hole, threw my small items in a basket and boom "functional" truck to drive around while slowly finding parts to actually fix up the truck, as of right now i have the back door, front grill, 4 bus/truck tires, the weird circle hatch on the roof, and 6 baskets for my truck, one of these days i will get a bigger diesel engine so i can use those 3 barrels full of diesel that i am hauling along
You really need to do engine braking with the truck my guy. If you need to slow down quickly force it into 1st and it will drop speed pretty fast. It can get a little twitchy if you're not careful, but it hugely drops the stopping distance. Works for the cars too.
maybe the TV or computer keyboard go on the radio mast?
That Blue car at the start has a speedometer that fits in the truck and goes to much higher speeds, that wont be needed if you go the bus engine though, as it is still governed to 100kph. Looks like you have the glassland biome coming up, my favorite is the snow.
Never found snow. I crossed grass and once even went up a mountain. But that dropped back down to a desert
You should try a bus. They're a little slower but they're ridiculously stable at speeds and they can carry more than the trucks and they're better on hills.
I always look forward to another long drive video. I'm absolutely loving this series.

Tbh this game is actually is really fun even if it's a glitchy mess
g key attaches things where the cursor is not where the item is just so you know ... also you should jizz on your tires for better handling ... also you can clean the doors and grill a bit more along with the wheels. ... dont forget there is 2 physics free zones right behind the rear bumper on the truck.

You can generally make the bridge from the top of the roof bit, or the ground from the door without injury.
You doi have a use for a sponge, the doors and other parts are satill only at polish level 1, they can reach polish level 2.

rub the lamp it gets really shiny ,usually the flatbed truck is the glitchiest at least with me the trailer truck i love except losing wheels hitting rocks (yea i hit them on purpose lol i dont see them till it to late ) it not bad, 4 sprays every 4 sprays will do something on objects but i do love the reload feature on shiny spray n paint
You found the flatbed the glitchiest? I only had problems with the box truck, and considering I was carrying a car in the flatbed and only a few cans and an engine in the box truck, that’s saying something. Though, after a few updates that save file got unplayable as every time I loaded in the extreme amounts of stuff I was carrying in my truck started loading in about 20 feet above it and I had to load all of the crap back into their baskets, at least the car and the bike always loaded in still in the dump bed.
You should keep the small oil jugs and fill them from the barrel. That will be easier than trying to get that barrel in the cab.

You can't open them yet but it might be possible in a future update and if so I'm sure the crowbar will be the key

red dot is red ufo which pulls bits off your car if you are under it when it passes over on the road
green dot is green ufo which leaves a green eyed rabbit
yellow orange dot is yellow orange ufo which steals all your fluids when it passes over

Also, For a next play through, you could do a challenge, of obtaining a Tanker Truck and Trailer full of 1 type of liquid, I would say water as it would be the best resource in the desert. Just an Idea.
The tanker truck and trailer always spawn in with 1500l of diesel.

Watching the prevoius episode And just found out the next episode is up, christmas came early.
I've found two trucks... the one I'm driving which i had to rebuild, and a complete one I found after fixing... grrr. both the same but i wanted the tanker truck... we'll see if I get one further down the road.

Is it possible to break the crates that you find? I know that you can find a crowbar randomly, and it would be interesting to see if you can use it to break them open.

to have blending biomes its a dropdown on the main menu
It also takes some time. I hit almost 400km before I found my first biome change.

It is shiny black in color.
All of the vehicles (trucks, cars, etc) are based of Italian models. I believe I'm not entirely sure but I believe the voice talking on the radio is also Italian but I could be wrong, I'm just saying, the deserted world has Italian things, but the radio talks about this to, saying the cars were imported and also about two stroke engines. Just some lore for this interesting game
