Hi Alex, in the bus at 17:27 you should have taken the cooler with you, as the bus cooler is the best one in the game and it was in a very shiny state, that means it is even better.
when you get a truck and put the bus engige in it and run it at full throttle all the time, you will have trouble cooling it with standard 5l cooler.
You can reload spray paint bottles too. Whatever the color is that you have in your hand is the color it will end no matter what color you use to reload it with. Very handy to paint a car fully any color you prefer if you have one color you like and a bunch of various other colors.

Mouse scroll wheel up and down is the "permanent" crouch. Q is the left and right look lock, which is what happened to you when the rabbit attacked.
Its called lean
It may also have been keyboard look, locks on and off with caps lock.

I found a truck next to a watchtower when I was playing the long drive, but it had no wheels. So I backtracked to a garage that was super close by where I knew there were truck wheels. But I didn’t pay enough attention to the rabbits…. I was eaten by rabbits

Your car is indeed going faster, because you finally have the appropriate sized bus tires on the drive wheels, the front.
Apparently you can drink any of the liquids in the game and it’ll have no ill effect on you. I think the character can hold up to 2L of liquid and it’s supposed to be useful as an emergency fuel tank. You can also refill a radiator with an well aimed piss. Anything you ingest will be peed out in the same form.
at least _something_ in this game is realistic
hi, you might want to try putting the barrel in the front of the trailer, when its at the back it tries to lift off the tow hook, in turn tries to lift the back wheels off the ground....
also why nopt put the barrel from the backseat in a basket fixed to the roof? then it wont glitch your back wheels.
I think you should either ditch the bus wheels or take the next decent bus you find until you get the truck because the constant crashing just seems like its getting a bit annoying now 😂
Yes he should have taken one of the busses at the start, Yes a bus is slower but there will be WAY more space and it will be less glitchy

It really seems like fuel isn't that big of an issue. You have spotted a ship in like every episode. Also, if you insist on keeping the trailer maybe put the second barrel in the trailer in a basket as well.
I was wondering why he didn't put the barrel from the car into the trailer. He just said it would be a disaster but left out the reasoning behind why it would be a disaster.
@@__MjG__ Cause the game physics are jank as hell and love turning everything into rockets. As for WgM, only gas is very common to the point where you don't need to worry too much. Diesel is basically only found in Container ships which CAN be rare. But you can still easily fill the tank on the bus or truck no problem, plus extra.
It's important to remember that outside the rabbits, this is a game about blasting through the desert (or grasslands or whatever with the new update).

I get that but why not stick the barrel in a basket on the car roof if it doesn't work in the trailer basket? He should do whatever he can to make the driving better.

Pushing Q locks your view! Push again to unlock. I've fallen into that too many times!
Take the oil drum out of the the backseat and clip it into one of the handy dandy trays
In case you have issues with looking (suddenly neck becoming stiff and only looking one way), the Q key bind changes it to make your character lean and regular looking.
Hey! i was playing the long drive today and i found a literal magic broom! which u can ride without anything! i currently have baskets and mirrors attached to it and am zooming across the map! (i found it in the well at the spawn building)

"Do a Barrel Roll!!" - it's all I could think of when the donk falls over.
I've driven about 140 km in my Lada in TLD, and, like you Alex, I'm finding that the further I travel, the less the buildings, vehicles & other man-made structures (save for maybe those viewing towers) the game seems to spawn in, and less useful items to collect. It can become hard slog at times.
But, as an Aussie, I kind of think of it as like driving in the more remote parts of Australia, where you'd swear you've driven past that same saltbush or that same dead kangaroo over & over & over & over again - the monotony occasionally broken up by a dinky petrol station, a road sign, a police chopper looking for speedsters, or, if you're lucky, a wedge-tailed eagle soaring overhead (or maybe some homicidal rev-head in a beaten-up old Ford Falcon trying to indulge his Mad Max fantasies...)

@@AverageAlien He's been streaming The Long Drive on Twitch a bit recently, and he carries along a family of gold bars with various decorations. Invariably the streams consist of him finding and counting his gold bars after he wrecks the bus and they glitch through and scatter across the ground. Also stopping every little bit to count them to make sure they're still there.

In the kitchen of the restaurant, the cabinet under the sink opens and there are always a good about of cleaner and brushes.
Alex you want minimal amount of stuff making contact with each other. Such as the barrel on the back seat and also the barrel on the trailer. If you look close enough you can see that the barrel is colliding with the trailer causing it to glitch. Also you were right about the barrel on the back seat, it’s touching the wheels causing it to brake the car and jerk everything around. Try to place stuff mostly on the center, also the barrel you just need to place it just right over the basket to consider it inside and it won’t move around, even an engine will stay on top but just put it right on top of the basket.
You have to mind the bumps on the road too, that moves the barrel on the backseat and causes it to jump around. Near the end the barrel takes up the entire rear view mirror
Here's a tip, if you are using manual transmission, shifting down can help you stop a lot faster. In the truck I am driving now shifting into 1st or 2nd will actually lock the wheels and bring it to a stop from full speed in only a few seconds!

The Q key is what locked your camera, as I'm not good at keyboard, the Q key was the bane of my existence last time I played as I hit it whenever I wanted tab
I like how the tires on the trailer were just randomly rotating. All sorts of Donk glitch-y-ness! Haha. Can't wait to see what happens next time.
Hey FailRace a few tips for you here:
1. You were stuck in "look around" position at the beginning of the video. press Q whenever it happens again.
2. Dacia sucks, its buggy, it rolls over a lot even without any loads, and you better get rid of it when you have the chance. Replace it with the VAZ 2105 if you ever find one as I find it to be more stable and can reach very high speed.
3. You can use your bus engine in the truck you are looking for. It will give your truck better speed than the original truck engine. So, DO NOT DISCARD IT.

You should take the wheels off and remove the tire from the rim if you're using the wire brush, otherwise you could damage the tires. They're also easier to clean when taken off.

Trucks usually spawn at those big buildings with the skybridge kinda thingy. And those are usually a little far away from the road. So I guess it's worth going away from the road for a little while.
Pro tip: when you find the truck make sure you swap in the bus engine. It's the most powerful and makes the truck feel less lethargic
Love this series to bits
Completely wrong tires, completely wrong engine, extra weight in the back seat, extra weight on the roof, trailer with ALL of its load at the very back. And the car isn't handling well? Shocking. Must be the game physics. lol
I strongly believe that the trailer is making this journey much more difficult than it needs to be; we've already seen that barrels can be put into baskets, so why not just place a few baskets on the roof for the barrels?
He's still in the early days of hoarding and ridiculous combo's. There's only one trailer worth a damn. Around 2k miles he'll be blasting away scouring the wasteland for the last can of purple paint and hatches for the truckster... i.imgur.com/SZwfZc3.png
Alex, just use the bus instead of the Dacia. It would cause less glitches. Just remember to make sure to clean the bus radiator until it is super sparkly. Apparently, the bus needs heavy cooling.
Tips for basket placement:
If placing a basket on a flat surface, drop the basket first, if it lands in the position you are looking for, stare at the center of the basket, pick it up then imediately hit G, it should place exactly the way it was sitting.
Another tip is the game places the basket in the exact orientation you have it held, but on the exact spot your crosshair is touching, not the spot the basket is currently at.
I quite enjoy driving the bus instead of a car due to lots of space for stuff, but often i have to stop to let it cool down, especially uphill.

I've had the bus going downhill so fast the speedo hand did a full 360 back to zero 😂😂 and I had 3 trailers on the back 2 of which full off diesel.
I've seen trucks spawn at diners, large service stations, bus stops and the arched buildings.
Definitely should have quick-saved and went down that well!☝🏾😂
Ive had a lot of fun with the Skoda, truck engine (not bus, bus is governed) bus tires on back, and normal on front. very fun with only a moderate amount of tippy shenanigans.
You have 2 hp. blood on the dash means you only have 1 left. clean the dash, and you're back at 2. I've driven full speed (160km/h) into a pole, vaporized the car, and didn't die.
When you get stuck not turning, press Q. For some reason "Lean" locks you facing one way.

maybe you could mount a basket of gold bars to the front bumper to adjust the handling .
also put a basket in the back seat to hold your barrel maybe some in the boot as well to store all your stuff and things.

I'm pretty sure you could make the car and trailer more stable by putting the barrel in the front of the trailer. You want the trailer's center of mass to be in front of its wheels, otherwise any time it starts moving sideways it'll try to rotate away from the direction it's going.
Best to stand on your roof to scout the area.
Right-click is still better than binoculars most of the time as its shorter range zoom, you can even handle it while driving.

Hey, you should put the barrel from the back seat into the trailer. It will likely stop the random loss of control issues that occurs when that barrel interacts with a wheel.
Reload tip is handy. But you keep forgetting its 4 sprays per level, don't give up after 2.
Maybe put a basket on the back seat to hold that barrel from floating about? Love this series :)

In most car crashes, you'll lose attached parts which is likely why the basket fell off. You can die due to physics, like the trailer glitching out when you're pushing it was actually pretty dangerous. If you're in a seat I think you'll be fine, but no guarantee
14:10 something cool, look left out of your window then swap to binoculars and scroll wheel up, then you can look around to the left and front without glitchy collisions. You can't turn it to far to the right side because you'll hit the windscreen, but the cool thing is that the view renders from the item, not your face, so you can see through the window frame
i mentioned it last episode too but usually a few wire brushes spawn under the sink in the diner too! Hope it helps

A tip I've learned driving the truck that might hewlp with the mighty Dacia Donk: when you need to slow down faster, use brakes and handbrake together. It doesn't do miracles, but it does allow to stop a bit more quickly.
Crowbar is a melee weapon, like the sword, which they did make work a few weeks ago apparently.
Honestly I think he should just use the next bus he comes across, he already got the right engine and plenty of fuel, and the bus would solve the glitchy rolly chaos that is a major hindrance to progress.
I noticed in this game that trucks only started loading after I started over, then found 4 (incomplete) in short time. Speed with a bus motor is great. At the moment I stopped playing because got anoyed too much by glitchy stuff (loading in and instantly see all your stuff flying around everywhere).
The developer of The Long Drive are idiots, it's a glitchy. For a 2019 game, it shouldn't have any glitches. Because according to people, all games shouldn't have any bugs and glitches.
You can pull the back bench seat out of the five door station wagon and fit multiple barrels in the back. That car also has a radiator, unlike the 3 door one.

I got the long drive and I already have the ak with over 60 rounds in my first like 60 km, just now I need the mobile base because as soon as 2 of the cars tires go off the road it flips out and I feel like that has to do with the Jerry cans in the trunk
Luckily angry rabbits only travel in a straight line. If there is something in between they will die by the impact with that object.
This roll over wrecks would look amazing from the outside camera. Press C while driving for a chase cam, hold C for a drop cam.

This whole episode is like trying to race down Nevada Highway during one of those speed challenges in Prostreet, but you have a car that is absolutely not built to go such high speeds... Then proceeding to roll your car numerous times...

When you get stuck looking in one direction, it's because you've accidentally entered into the "lean" mode, where basically you can move your head up, down, left and right. You enter and exit this mode with the Q key.
On my sheer distance playthrough I've the bix version of the truck with like 40 baskets holding the green jerry cans full of diesel and 10 more with miscellaneous things. Works very well no physics. Also soon as you've the chance you should swap to a bus radiator.

You should put on the normal wheels, and find the engine from the boxy Lada from 1980, you can go about 150-160 km/h and not crash every 20 seconds with that setup
