I recently upgraded my $5 TJ Maxx yoga block to both of Manduka’s regular and slim cork blocks and I love it! It feels sturdy, lush and I think I’ve read somewhere that cork is antibacterial (don’t quote me on that tho lol). However if you’re under 5’4 I would suggest getting the slimmer block oppose to the regular. I’m 5’2 with small hands and limbs so at times the regular block feels too large to get a good stretch or grip. Not a huge deal but just something to consider.
Yup that’s one of the issues with cork: it’s not super long-lasting. But it’s also a natural, organic product, and all things natural break down over time. I had cork blocks that started crumbling over time too and it gets messy!
@@fufu1405 yes! I go through the differences between foam and cork blocks from 3:00 onwards - it just wasn’t indicated in the timestamps, sorry about that.
They’re similar to styrofoam pool floaties… in that they’re firm but slightly squishy on the surface. So they won’t be as hard as a wooden block, but they’re like a dense, compressed foam. Firm, but with a slight squishy feel… dunno if that helps a bit?

Thanks for watching! And great tip on hand-to-block size. Definitely something to consider!
I use a Nike foam block and it has helped me a lot and helped me to improve in my practice of yoga over time!
That’s great! And yes I’ve used those Nike blocks before too - also great!
Why cork yoga block at my teacher’s yoga studio is crumbling? It make a mess on my mat

Do your yoga blocks sat "practice on" on one of the sides?
@@misquidedyouth not these ones but they might have started adding that after I got these blocks? Product lines and updates keep changing!
cork definitely
Interesting… what is it about cork blocks you prefer?
The thumbnail shoes foam vs cork, yet you dont talk about the differences.

Hi! Are those foam blocks soft to sit on? i need 2 of them to sit on, keeping a 5-7cm gap between them
