We were also able to get our hands on the new build 1.9.0 and show you what to expect from the racing sim in development, which now includes the Nordschleife - unfortunately not for free, but only with the purchase of a Founders Package.

LMU coming with DLC while still in early access. Rensport:”We can beat that, here, pay 70 euro for a track and a few liveries, while in open Beta!!”
LMU is doing great, imo I tried rensport and I really don't think it's worth paying right know

The track and the car aren't 70eur though.
Moreover LMU has already great AI, good organized online racing, tripple support and so on...I really wish Rennsport the best but as of now it's crap.
Rennsport has more future than LMU, simply with mods and Nordschleife, bye bye LMU
@@kolysion164Not yet it does. I was one of the first to get closed beta key (within the first week) but I never enjoyed Rennsport so far.
AC EVO is gonna release soon and then its probably over for them…

@@lorenmax2.013yeah, i had the closed beta since first keydrop and touched it exactly one. Some updates were tempting, but its kinda just over the place with nothing that would make it worth to invest time on. Cuz theres ACC and others that are doing almost everything and more already better. The money wasting on the esport series seemed a bit weird from the start too…
i think ACE will lean more towards sports- and supercars rather than racecar machinery, so i am not sure its a direct competitor for Rennsport.
i think Rennsport has to compete with the likes of iRacing, ACC, now also LMU, rf2 and i think it has not really something special going for itself.

@@glenbullivant5811In Fortnite all aspects of the game are free, and the cosmetics keep the game going. In this it looks like cars and tracks will also be paid for. So they took out features such as customizable livery so they could charge for it... While you're in a paid car, on a paid track. Will all due disrespect get the f out of here
Trying to understand what Rennsport is trying to do here. Have yet to see anything above and beyond what’s already available for cheaper and not in beta. The second time in a week that we learned also that a game in development is selling DLC before the game is even finished. More competition is better, but I don’t see anything better here. Not worth throwing money at anyways.

1- Did they create a brand new physics engine? like, they started with a stone and they carved it into a city?
I'm asking cause previous sims made us think this is impossible. Sims usually "pouch" a developer who has the code, or buy the licence or something..
2- No need for setups, they are endless rabbit holes that only give the advantage to those who pay more. Just make it a sim without setups. Dare to try something new (a major sim with locked setups).
3- Important, did you notice anything new in the sim? anything innovative or revolutionary? for example I noticed many parameters on the screen and a rich UI. Is there anything this sim can do that others can't?

Paying almost 60 euros for a few liveries and name on billboard and on a track has to be the biggest scam ever. I know they try to sell it as a F2P game but that can't be the way to make a profit. I mean look at raceroom as an example. might not be the best sim out there. But that gives atleast some proper bang for buck.
RRE in my opinion is massively overlooked due to its ageing visual aesthetics, its honestly probably one of the best feeling sims out there and its almost fifteen years old. You're totally right, with its variety and given that each car is available to test pre-purchase provides that safe investment feeling, which a lot of others dont do and not to mention the many seasonal discounts they offer. In comparison a new livery on RRE costs 29p (You cant even buy a Freddo for that these days)
Not all cars are world beating like ill still prefer ACC for GT3 but for things like TCR, Procars, DTM, 90's DTM its still unmatched to this day
@@karlsmith8113you hit the nail on its head. And even though it is an old game, I still think it's one of the best sims,if not the best sim if it comes to FWD physics. Even compared to the original AC, most FWD cars feel like they only have grip on the driven wheels, and the back wheels are just there, and when the weight comes off the grip is also completely gone.

I think graphically this is the best Nordschleife so far. But the popin etc graphical issues take away a lot. Also being Unreal Engine the VR experience will probably be bad.
How do you rearrange HUD elements? I have been trying for months to sort that mess out.

Rennsport has difficult situation here. They need to offer something unimaginable to compete with the well established titles.
These differing tiers you can buy. I assume the expensive one is for the game when its released. Should be for that price.

I don't mind limited setups but the realism has to be translated to the ffb. VR and sound implementation could also give any new sim racing a boost in sales/

In a couple of years, when the game is completed, we will make assessments, but now it’s too early
The game already looks and feels five years old. it doesn't bring anything new to the table. AC Evo is coming out soon. It's game over.

I’m struggling with road feeling, I get plenty of FF but the little details just isn’t there, I’ve tried different settings and my wheel is a CSL Elite
The intention of this game looks to be making money while it should be making a good game making money. Like they watched at F2P games and just picked a genre that did not have that.
This system could work with an arcade racer but this looks like a doa for me

If you think paying stupid amounts of money to play a very mediocre, barren sim racing game is "prestigious", I have have no hope for the genre to progress beyond this greedy, lazy garbage mobile-game-like business model...
nearly 3 years and it's still so rough. even if the driving is improved that cant be only thing it's good for, there's already plenty of sims that do that.
Looks like it has the same graphical glitch as ACC, in external views the wheels dont look like they are rotating at the same speed as the car. Must be an Unreal engine thing.
I dont like this particular "shiny" decal but im not totally against it as long as they have more classic livery than shiny. Im certainly tempted to try it out atleast and see for myself how it plays
Can anyone play in VR? I have a Quest3, connect via Link Cable, show my PC Screen (in Quest Link VR) and click on Rennsport. The game opens in a 2D screen in VR. I tried all possible Launch Parameters in EpicGames launcher like -vr openvr, -vr oculus, -oculus, -openvr, -vr, -openxr, -vr openxr and nothing works.

@@Naglisarunas Open Beta has VR. I made it work finally. My VR Process was hanging. After a reboot, adding -vr launch parameters worked.

Thanks for video review. I just tried the beta and don't quite understand what more this game has to offer us that we can't do in other games. Can someone please explain. I run rtx 4090 and am not impressed with the track graphics. They are worse than Automobilista 2 which is an 11 yr old game. Track graphics don't even come close to Forza Motorsport or Le Mans Ultimate. Car graphics are good, however, the available cars are very limited. I am not sure why someone would want to invest their time and $ in this game given the current gaming market and especially considering Assetto Corsa Evo's soon to release. Love your channel content btw.
No, the game looks like shit. It somehow looks worse than ACC, and ACC is already a pretty mediocre looking game in my opinion.
I am rather conflicted... The financial model of the game seems alright. It's free to play, has shiny content to bring people's attention. 20 euro for a car is close to iRacing model, which also requires a subscription. What probably is an unpopular opinion - I don't mind animated liveries. When given enough room, people love to customize their cars to some ridiculous levels. Though if we won't be able to design our skins like that, I'd be a bit disappointed. On paper it doesn't look bad, however, Rennsport still seems very rough around the edges.
UI is still way too raw. There's lack of visual cues, icons, variety. All seem very monotonous. I know it's a beta and it's probably going to change, but I feel like this would require a core redesign of some UI elements. Same for in-game HUD. It just doesn't look that appealing when you take a quick glance.
Another thing is graphics and that's probably what can be defined with "rough around edges" the most. It's easy to see they're using plenty of base Unreal Engine systems with ghosting motion blur behind cars, not overly saturated post processing etc. I'm afraid the game will lack in CPU optimization and will not be easily accessible to players that don't have the strongest PCs, yet it seems like with F2P model they tend to aim at such audience.
Judging from the gameplay, cars still have tires that feel like they're made out of clay. It seems a bit more fluid than before but I don't think the characteristics are going away anytime soon. Feels like that's how the physics were written and they will probably not change it drastically any time in the future. I really hope they bring FFB to a better level. Using T300 in previous betas, there was almost no detail whatsoever.
If they don't bring the base game to a better quality, I'm afraid that this entire plan will fall on its knees. The feeling of this game needs to be very good to convince people to spend so much money on it. They lean to the virtual side of things here, dealing with ESL, getting esport drivers. Real-life motorsport representation which excels in iRacing might have a much smaller role in here. I'm not sure if that will make the title appealing to a huge chunk of simracers. We will see I guess.

I tried the open beta on my sim rig yesterday and this game does have potential, but it can't compete against ACC, if it's one of the developer's goals with RENNSPORT.
I never got that beautiful replays, even in my 4090. Waiting support for triple screen too.

not triple individuals, but if you set it as a single resolution in NV surround then it works
No, and they will not fix this. EPIC games needs to fix this with there unreal 5 engine. And they will not fix this probably. So i think Rennsport won't get triple support. Maybe in a couple of years,..but not in 2024.
Also why no one of the big simracing channels are talking or playing this game.

As I have stated elsewhere, The RaceRoom pay model doesnt work, I see nothing different here. AC Evo will be the new kid of the block, not this.

I don't understand why this game exists in the first place, It's currently a more expensive and inferior version of Assetto Corsa Competizione. It has no mayor innovation, and it's comming out while Assetto Corsa EVO is around the corner. They're just dropping their special packages for some cash grab because they know it's already over.
I have key since like 6 months and this game is one big disappointment
they pumpin cash into these stupid esport events when game is garbage and develops so slowly that people will forget about it before it will even have chance to take off

uhm, is there no telemetry for simhub and motion from rennsport available? why would anyone want another unreal engine based simulator thats only half complete? remembering how much performance the unreal engine eats in acc i dont see rennsport skyrocket anytime soon. honestly, its kinda hard to see their vision for the game.
The SimHub guy is usually very quick doing updates for new games, if possible. So far nothing on the horizon regarding Rennsport, so it won't happen any time soon I guess.
Test drove it and its better physics and ffb than AMS2. Its a combination raceroom physics and rfactor2 ffb.
Is DLSS, FSR or XLSS on by default?
Might be the cause of the ghosting.
We disabled DLSS and Motion Blur, regardless of the AA, it never goes away 100%, but DLAA seems to create the best results so far. -Michel
I'm not very convinced on this sim. The driving feel is pretty good, IMO.
I'm still trying to figure out who this game is for. If you want to drive GT cars and avoid paying for iRacing, just play ACC. What is the market they are aiming for?
I tested Rennsport in closed beta. I still can’t find the added value to the sim racing world.
Got a closed beta key. Tried it twice and uninstalled. I've done testing before so aware of that but what was on offer was awful.
The new version drives much better than the one before.
It looks like they couldn't solve the same issue that ACC has with the wheels rotating at the correct speed. Very minor thing but it's always bugged me in ACC.
The ghosting is a problem with TAA.
Wanna make "purists" upset add animated car skins. As long as the cars drive good and the tracks are decent I couldn't careless if someone wants to customize their cars livery with subtle animation.

Im so conflicting it has so many intriguing things, but the marketing and vagueness of the game are making it hard for me to be excited. It has so much potential but not much to show for it. It's frustrating because it uses unreal engine 5 and has amazing graphics, but physics currently needs a lot of work. And the sound design is great, but im so conflicted! I hope this doesn't fail, but it's not looking good for the future. I hope it's successful.
Honest question for those of you saying Rennsport brings nothing new and that AC Evo will kill this game, what will AC Evo bring that isn't already on the market?
its a lot about the physics and handling.. Evo still has the best handling engine on the market. IT will also look better and run smoother. Thats why they didn't go back to unreal engine after ACC. This is my understanding anyways.

@@RyKnocks from what I understand, they are using the same physics engine as ac1 . Or an upgraded derivative of it.
obviously handling and feel is subjective, but I place the AC1 handling and physics up the top of my list.
@@Lewps264-Racing That’s fair. My issue with AC1 is that it’s very mod based. So while it affords a bit of variety, it also takes away from consistency since all the cars aren’t made to the same standard.
I hope there’s more multiplayer focus with Evo, otherwise my time will still be spend on iRacing.
Aren't the ghosting artifacts behind the car because of reconstruction technologies like DLSS and FSR, and not because of Unreal Engine?

What matters is how they package it (Physics, Graphics, Sound, UI, Online environment, bang for buck), I’m also waiting for the full release to see the full picture.

Feels like a mix of Forza and Fortnite (dynamic skins, really?). ACC in expensive and shitty. I doubt, that this thing will survive 1 year after release.

To the devs, ignore the negative comments. As a hardcore AC player who owns all the modern day sims, I always go back to AC for how good it feels, but if Rennsport ticks the right boxes and does things better then I'll switch and play both no problem

It doesn't even work, I have no idea how you set it up for Moza base, it wont even launch the game, says it failed to initalize whatever the fuck that means, I launch the game from the Epic launcher then I can't even setup the wheel because it wont let me bind turn left or right, it says it's the same axis. Yet they have the audacity to ask money for this crap.

Every simulation or 'sim' is still a game in the end so probably a good reason to have it included
@@vennemans9113 inless RS is planning on breaking some new ground there will be nothing special enough about it to get anyone to switch allegiances from other sims. Theres a million racing games you can play 3rd person so why bother? The tire wear overlay is bad enough
