Coming to this video late. Loved watching your reaction to trying this out for the first time. Glad to see in the description that you got over the sim sickness, as you basically did everything the hard way when it comes to starting out in VR! 🤣 ...like I said though, I'm glad it all worked out! I'll leave a few tips in case anyone else is thinking of starting out in VR. The biggest thing is that you should take a break immediately when you feel sick. Some people are able to get over it, but for many people, trying to push through those feelings will only make them worse. The symptoms to look for are nausea, dizziness, and sweating. By taking breaks when these symptoms occur and waiting until they've passed before jumping back in, most people can acclimatize quickly. A couple other tips: In GT7, picking a flat track and a car where you're more enclosed can help a lot. Also having a fan blowing on you from the front or side can help (I think maybe it grounds you in reality a little bit). If you're really struggling with sim sickness, try switching to a game where you're not moving around. There are lots of great options, including Moss 1 + 2, Demeo, Puzzling Places, Beat Saber, and Tetris Effect Connected. Games where you aren't moving are more comfortable so they can help you acclimatize to VR. Hope this helps anyone getting into VR for the first time, and I hope you're still enjoying VR. 👍
There's a weird sensation I had to work through on tracks with sudden elevation changes like Spa... I would hit Eau Rouge and my head felt like it was still down there even though I was now at the top of Raidillon. After a few days that went away. The Nordschleife is still a roller coaster... The other thing I really grew to appreciate is how driving modern Le Mans machinery is like sitting inside of a tank. You don't get to see much of the world and have to hit your marks! Mega props to the drivers in real life!
Hahaha it's fun watching you psvr guys for the first time , brings back memories for us on pcvr. Dosnt take long to get used to the motion sickness and the amazment of the immersion deminishes over time as well. Been doing this since 2015 but would still never go back to 2d screen

Since then, I have upgraded to a motion rig, DD1 wheel for insane FFB, a VR headset with 4k clarity...can't beat it because now I feel every bump/curb on the road and weight shifting of the car. You do get motion sickness without a motion rig imo....if you're brain are not adapting well.
Just lean forward a little when you brake , immersion is all about how much your willing to put in too , lean a little in the corners , push back when you accelerate and lurch forward when you brake and I guarantee you it will feel even more realistic, I notice I do it automatically when i play but alot of people just sit so still.....GET INTO THE GAME , not just be in the game
Is this your first VR experience? First time is always a trip and nausea inducing. Your brain can sense the lag/absence between visual and physical movement, but your brain eventually adapts and can separate between "real life" and "VR". Next time you put on a headset, your brain goes into VR mode.
Totally, I forgot to mention in the video but I'm now all totally sweet - no more sick feeling. You're right you just have to break through and it goes away. Nothing but joy playing it now.
I had done it before but only with a mobile phone and a VR shooter briefly where you walked around inside a warehouse with a pc strapped to your back, first one I've owned
It is not lag between visual and movement but movement without any forces on the body. That’s the reason for brain to panic as sending signals to muscles to prevent incoming forces hits the void as there is nothing to counter.

After about 3 days VRSR2 is well worth it on GT7. But the choice to not include some sort of switchable speedometer in VR makes doing Circuit Experience in some cars super grindy.
