    I dig the hat. At first I didn’t think it was a working type of hat but then saw it was mesh on top to help dissipate sweat. I like it.

      It actually keeps me pretty cool. Functionality is key!

    Jon, sometimes honesty is not the best policy. The good part is your new hat is functional. God bless you!

      And functionality is all I need! 😂 Thanks!

      It's just missing old rusty logging equipment sitting in the woods I could attempt to start. 😂😂

    That looked like a lot of fun! Watching you dig I could smell that nasty swamp mud. Nice job!

      Thanks for watching. You're right the smell was unique for sure. I love it but it's not for everyone.

    That skeeter nursery ain’t gonna dry out soon! Might be a good place to put a couple of carp and catfish…. If nothing else you’ll have a perfect cane pole fishing hole!
    The hat… spray it with waterproofing… it’ll keep the rain off your face. I like it!

    Hi Jon! Ah, backhoe therapy! Nothing better, IMO. Your BH92 sounds more like a mini excavator than my BH77. Backhoe time is always fun time. BTW, yes I like your new hat.

      I need more backhoe practice! How is your pond project coming along. Have t seen a video on that in quite some time.

      @@ritterjon You looked quite proficient with it to me, Jon! I didn’t do any work on it last summer but this summer I may pump it dry, rent a mini-ex and get ‘er done right.

    Jon keep your cleaning your ditch that will keep your road dryer .

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a crick that runs through this marshy swamp. The road has 4 culverts. Just trying to build up the sides and widen the road.

    I bought a similar hat. Spent like 100 bucks on it. After a while I realized it wasn't me but I still like and have the hat. Kinda useless now hahaha. Videos like this make me consider a backhoe for the 4760c

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure this hat is me either but I really wanted something that would keep the sun off the back of my neck. It really does a nice job of keeping me feel cooler even if I don't look cooler. 😂😂

    Yikes....that swamp looks like the type you get stuck in and never come back!!

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is exactly that! Some years it's dry enough to drive an ATV across, in fact last year there was hardly any water at all. However this year it is a wet muddy mess!

    Looks like mosquito country there , no cab for backhoe work, did you end up feeding a few of them ?

    • @ritterjon
      @ritterjon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I donated plenty of blood to supply a few thousand of them with the nutrition they need. The gnats were probably worse because deet seems to have less effect on them.
