I just LOVE your incredibly detailed explanations regarding how you approach each piece of the painting and facts about 'wiry dog hair' in particular (or whatever you working on at the moment). You are a treasure trove of information!
Thank you for making and sharing this video! You're explaining everything so well and I love how you don't put the speed up through the entire video, but rather keeping it at normal speed when you're explaining a stage, makes it so much easier to understand the stages. You're brilliant and I can't wait to get to the rest of your tutorials. Thanks again!
Absolutely incredible! Your tutorial is fascinating to watch! What a talent you have... Delighted to hear your voice guiding us through your process, explaining about the different types of hair and thanks for sharing your special tips about the brush flattening, layers, shadows and the flow improver! You continue to be an inspiration!
Absolutely amazing I am about to start a painting similar dog I’m quite new to acrylic painting and am so glad I have found you and will keep tuning in for tips and advice.
I'm so glad I found your videos. You're an amazing realism painter, WOW ! Impressive how the hair, the eyes, the nose and all of the details look so real. Thank you for sharing.
Once again, excellent painting! I would love to see some realtime paintings on Patreon or a similar platform. I would certainly be happy to become a paid subscriber.
Hi....The tutorials are all based on commissions as those are what pay my bills (Get nothing from doing this up to press) so i have to wait to get a subject of that colour commissioned. I do have a gold cocker coming up... The process will be the same though other than colours used.
What type of paint are you using?brand? And the last brush you used seem to be relatively rigid to make such thin lines. What kind of brush is that? Thank you for sharing your process and your work. Well done!
I don't recall now but will have been a mix of colours...the colour depends on the shadows that are naturally showing through the white hair. The idea is that it still partly shows through when you painted the lighter hair on top.
This is so realistic, it looks like an oil painting. I've tried to paint my dog 10 times now. I get frustrated. Did you paint this in one day? I think I try to do it in one seating and rush it.
Hi...I didn't sit and paint it all in one day no....if i sat there for a good 8 hours though in one day, I could probably get it mostly done but I don't really do that lol...I have gotten faster with practise but rushing is never a good thing..
Thank You for posting this video!
Yet again you have added even more inspiration . many thanks Jim
You're welcome...:)
A beautiful painting and you have a lovely accent.
I've been learning so much from these. Thanks so much for creating them.

I wish it were slowed down to normal time. I can’t really see how you use your brush strokes to achieve that effect.

You're so talented! .. Fascinating to watch you paint 😃
Thanks Chelsea. Hope you're well...:)
I love your artwork, what kind of acrylic paint do you use?
Thanks and I am mostly using Winsor and Newton currently with some liquitex as well.
Have you ever tried using flow acrylic for the white hairs?
What type of paint are you using?brand? And the last brush you used seem to be relatively rigid to make such thin lines. What kind of brush is that? Thank you for sharing your process and your work. Well done!
Hi, I have listed all the supplies in the description...
Thanks and most welcome.
Thank you for sharing this. May I ask, what was that first layer, beige?
I don't recall now but will have been a mix of colours...the colour depends on the shadows that are naturally showing through the white hair. The idea is that it still partly shows through when you painted the lighter hair on top.
Great video What surface and acrylicsdo you use?
Thank you...I now have all the supplies listed in the descriptions of the videos....:)
I've always found rigger brushes a bit fat so I need to use your flattening-in-the-paint tip...
Let me know if you get on with it lol....
Hi could I ask what brushes you use please for doing your dog hair. fab paintings
Mostly riggers for doing fur...
🤩
This is so realistic, it looks like an oil painting. I've tried to paint my dog 10 times now. I get frustrated. Did you paint this in one day? I think I try to do it in one seating and rush it.
Hi...I didn't sit and paint it all in one day no....if i sat there for a good 8 hours though in one day, I could probably get it mostly done but I don't really do that lol...I have gotten faster with practise but rushing is never a good thing..
Love your accent.
Thanks...I always think it sounds very out of place on YT among all the American accents and such...
😍
What doyou call the flat detail brush you use?
A rigger. Not naturally flat. I explain that I make it flat in the wet paint...I show how I do this in stage 3 pug tutorial on painting realistic fur.
Yes, I can't understand what brush it is. I'd like to order one.
Does this only work for dogs or can it be applied to other types of animals?
Anything that has the same texture of fur...it is about the fur texture as opposed to the type of animal.
Far too fast! 🥲
I am currently working on setting up a patreon which will have realtime footage uploaded....
You deserve 100's of thousands of subscribers. Wicked beautiful.
Thanks....maybe one day I may reach a fraction of that haha....
Do you have twitter account mam?
I had one but never really got into it and do not use it.
