    Due to a 60 hour work week, I have been a "weekend" painter for 20 years. Wildlife is really my passion. I find your videos sooooo refreshingly HELPFUL and I intend on using your techniques in my own paintings whenever I get to them, lol! Thank you for your generous time and for sharing your gift.

    Excellent tutorial as usual from Daniel Wilson. The color principles outlined here are not only applicable to the painting of white fur, but they can also successfully be applied to the painting of: snowy landscapes; white clouds; white sandy beaches; white clothes and pretty much anything white. I am little surprised that the buff titanium that was on the artist's palette was not used (Titanium White Buff - PW6:1) Buff titanium is an incredibly useful color in that it helps to stear one away from the temptation to use pure white.

    Thank you for your detailed demos. I could watch these over and over again. When you are painting from a reference photo, as you did for this dog, it would be helpful to have the reference next to you work as you are painting, so we could all see it evolve.
    I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching every video you have created!

    Superb tutorial, thank you so much! Btw, once you put down the tape, hit it with a thin layer of matte medium, let it dry then paint. This will give you 99.9% clean lines, but I use yellow frog tape with same method.

    Hi Daniel, I am struggling to get my hands on the “ sword liner or dyer brush” you are using to create the long fine and curly hair, whiskers etc. I am from South Africa. I will be in the U.K from July till September. Maybe you can help me by guiding me to a supplier. Awesome channel and phenomenal artist. Regards Niel

      This isn't the exact model that I use but something like this would work well amzn.to/3MHbMMl

      The exact model I use is the pro arte sword liner which you could order whilst you are in the UK amzn.to/3CxdI5e

  • @butterfly4875
    @butterfly4875 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm trying to learn how to use acrylics, gotta be honest I struggle with blending due to the drying time, should the paint be watered down? Then it looks patchy. Should it be thick and wet the brush which can also drag and go patchy, I did a flower and man oh man it looks so frustratingly amateur. I usually use coloured pencils, graphite, or water colour to create and do pretty well with those but I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone but not winning!

    • @StudioWildlife
      @StudioWildlife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I water them down and use lots of layers to build up solid colours. Otherwise it may be the paints that you are using don’t have much pigment in them which can make them look thin and patchy
