I just want to say that I still use this video for reference for my bases in Cursed City. It is spot on for the game and blends in great with the board tiles. Spell Crow all the way for the based too. I did my whole set including expansions with their products.
I laughed so hard on the intro 🤣 great job as always! I used Spellcrow resin bits before, they are high quality! Thank you for the tutorial, keep up the good work!
Hey Juan. I just wanted to say that you make fantastic content. I used this recipe on my Screaming Bell and it came out amazing. Thank you so much for your hard work and for making me a better painter.
Incredible work! Really good match to the board tile, you even got a similar artistic aesthetic as well as matching the colours. Nice to see someone using those Spellcrow flagstones, too; I've been curious about them for a while, and this has convinced me to try them out.
Just did ny first batch following your tutorial for the Ulfenwatch. It looks amazing! Easy when you get into it and just so color accurate to the games tiles.
Thanks a lot for giving us an alternative to the sponsored product! I actually think the one from Spellcrow looks pretty neat, but it's always infuriating when you see a tutorial based around a sponsored product with no alternatives.
That's my thought as well, and although I truly believe they make the best Basing products for Cursed City, I also understand that not everyone can afford them. SpellCrow also understood it and they are very happy with the result, which speaks very well about them of you ask me.
Very nice. I made my pavement tiles by cutting small squares and rectangles out of 2mm plasticard, then using a sharp knife to cut the edges down so they look irregular.
well done! The most difficult part of painting for me is to paint something the color of the atmosphere rather than the color of the item itself... like this base specifically... you painted stone, but didn't use a single "stone" color like grey... great stuff!
You can also buy a roller from green stuff world where you just roll it over the green stuff (or milliput your choice) and you get perfect paving stone effects. Warning, keep the roller very wet so the green stuff doesn't stick to it.
These are awesome, and quite a decent match to the board tiles too. Did you cut the base stubs off the minis and pin them to the bases or did just a dab of superglue suffice?
Love the look of those bases but I've got a ton of stuff to paint so looking to save a bit of time. Could you get a similar effect by drybrushing up from mechanics grey, dawnstone etc then using a contrast? If so, which one would you recommend? Happy to follow with more washes / glazes
I’ve been waiting for this video & I was not disappointed. Are you going to use this same recipe for painting the bits of broken masonry on some of the minis (such as the Raven objectives, gravestones, & vyrkos blood-born)? Also, I found the intro very amusing.
Could you make a guide on feathering please using these colours I’d love to attempt this base but don’t understand how to feather the paint. Thanks for the help! Beautiful bases mate 👍🏻
There's nothing more to show than what's there in the video. Is that simple. Apply paint, clean brush in water, absorb extra water from the brush, blend paint with the clean brush. That's all.
Otra clase magistral. Grccccc
Fantastic video as always, so looking forward to painting up my Cursed City miniatures and will definitely following your guides! What method do you use to fix the miniature to the base afterwards? Plastic glue only, Super glue only or a combination of glue & pinning? I ask as the plastic tiles seem to be pretty fragile so concerned that drilling into them to pin a miniature in place will cause the tile to break
That is a good question actually, but I don't know to be honest. You can see at the start of the video how much product I used for one skeleton and more or less calculate how many models one slate will do. Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
Won't the green stuff come off of the base or is the texture enough to hold it? I know it doesn't stick to smooth plastic. I have had to super glue it.
I need help! I’ve included some wood bits onto my cursed city style bases but can’t figure out how to paint them! They look a bit off. How would you paint wood in this style?

I wish i had the eye that you do in picking your colors. Those two blues are great and the mix with green shade is amazing.

The foil to make texture is genius! Another like for you sir!

I really appreciate it. I was very impressed by the tiles, the casting quality is just outstanding. Forgeworld could learn a thing or two
Ice cold! Sweet JH Ice. Wow, yes that Coellia greenshade really brought it home.
Thanks 😘
Juan, you're the best! Your tutorials are very easy to understand and inspires me a lot! Thanks for your work)))
Thank you for watching 😘
At least !
Coulour scheme I needed ! Thanks Master !
Happy to help 😘
Your base looks way better than the game tiles. Great job.
Thanks
Damn, just as I was going to paint my Warcry Catacombs terrain. Perfect timing!
Awesome!
Oh this will be perfect for my Crimson Court vampires!
I will as well
I was just thinking and researching basing cursed City... Wasn't disappointed.
Happy to help 😘

Best painting skills on the internet
Way to generous, but keep on going

Happy to help! I'm very proud of the colour matching I achieved, not going to lie
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures You've got all the rights to be proud. :) Cheers!
Wow, your channel is awesome. Your intros are absolutely hilarious.
Thanks, I just try to amuse myself if I'm honest
Used this sweet tutorial on a Bloodborne character I printed.
Awesome fit for this basing!
Video is fudging awesome by the way. Love the green stuff, and the pavement tile products look great
Thanks mate 😘
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures and the finish is brilliant, you’re painting like a master. Loving the extra details and learning so much.
@@markjarvis72 thanks again mate, coming from you it really means a lot

Te ha quedado una base cojonuda! Y verte esculpir da gusto 🤩

Very nice. I made my pavement tiles by cutting small squares and rectangles out of 2mm plasticard, then using a sharp knife to cut the edges down so they look irregular.
That also works as do believe it or not lasagna sheets.
Absolute legend
I know
Me ha encantado el vídeo con ganas de ver tutorías de alguna figura!!
Ya hay uno 😘
Aaaaaaand ordered.
Awesome!
Those are the bestlooking bases for Cursed City I have seen.
Could you also show, how to make nice bases for classic Warhammer Quest 1995?
thanks, maybe i will do in the future

jajajajjajajja best intro in painting ever
Gracias guapo 😘
I’m all about those intros, had to stop and like!
Much appreciated 😘
FUCK that looks good. wtf
Was not expecting that end result from the base colour!
IT'S MAGIC
These are awesome, and quite a decent match to the board tiles too.
Did you cut the base stubs off the minis and pin them to the bases or did just a dab of superglue suffice?
They are pinned yes
Love the look of those bases but I've got a ton of stuff to paint so looking to save a bit of time. Could you get a similar effect by drybrushing up from mechanics grey, dawnstone etc then using a contrast?

Based intro
😂
Es la base mas bonita que he visto en mi vida :O

You’re welcome. I edited my comment after finishing the video (& buying those tiny tufts).
Yes I will, I want my minis to be fully coordinated in colour
Excellent. I’ll be sure to tag you on IG when I post some painted minis.

Está húmedo pero ya, no quieres demasiada agua
I just watch it for these intros these days :D is the other 24 minutes worth watching ;)?
Not really, the intros are the best part
Me encantó la intro. Te sales 😂😂👍👍

Fantastic video as always, so looking forward to painting up my Cursed City miniatures and will definitely following your guides! What method do you use to fix the miniature to the base afterwards? Plastic glue only, Super glue only or a combination of glue & pinning? I just use super glue but pinning is 100% doable
This looks amazing! How many pavements should one order from Spellcrow to base the whole game?
That is a good question actually, but I don't know to be honest. You can see at the start of the video how much product I used for one skeleton and more or less calculate how many models one slate will do.
Sorry I cannot be more helpful.
Fantastic video! Bien hecho! Do you find that the Vallejo textured line adheres well to unprimed surfaces?
It's not bad, as good as any other textured paint but if you want a super durable base, prime the empty base first.
I really enjoyed this tutorial. Can you use milliput instead of green stuff?
Of course, but as it behaves differently you might need to tweak the technique a bit. Also remember milliput dissolves with water
Found it !😂
NICE
Love all your videos and painting style. Would you be interested in doing a lovely Slaanesh deamonette model?
Cheers and keep up the great work!
All factions will get a video with time.
Did you apply a primer before that first color? Should I do chaos black or corax white?
Corax
Where is your Resin printer located? Do you have carbonfilters or ventilation system with exhaust outside?
In my workshop and no to all those questions.
Won't the green stuff come off of the base or is the texture enough to hold it? I know it doesn't stick to smooth plastic. I have had to super glue it.
GS can come loose of bare plastic once it's cured, yes. If you are careful you shouldn't have any issues but if it comes off just glue it down
Muy muy útil 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😘
I need help! I’ve included some wood bits onto my cursed city style bases but can’t figure out how to paint them! They look a bit off. How would you paint wood in this style?
Watch the Deadwalker Zombie vídeo, there's two types of wood there.
How do you mount the minis to these bases? Just super glue?
Yes, pinning if necessary
Quick question: could you use sprues as tiles and rocks for this?
Why not? Feel free but I personally think it way too much work for it to be worth but you do you!
Thanks man
That's a great looking base. Are you painting up the whole set to play?
No, I'm just painting one of each for the videos.
I gotta ask, is the series name "How to Base" a play on SeamlessR "How to Bass" series? Maybe I'm just a super nerd haha
Don't know who he or she is sorry. But I guess geniuses think alike?
I'm going to go with that, yes
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures nice haha great vid nonetheless!
