I was shocked to find Cursed City in my local store the other day, and it was on sale! My girlfriend and I scooped it up pretty quick.

I found priming skeletons brown instead of black works well and works if your paiting a skelton with a lot of red cloth too

I hope all the people that want Cursed City can eventually get hold of a set. With only a couple of exceptions, the minis in it have been so much fun to paint. Even though they are basically mooks, the skeletons have a lot of character and are worth spending some time on imo. Those zombies on the other hand...
+1 for the Monument Primers (and all their paints, really). They are really good.

I was lucky enough to snag one off Amazon on release night, and I definitly agree, as with most Warhhammer Fantasy models they are a great addition to my DnD minis collection.

Awesome tutorial. Whenever I have a friend that wants to try mini painting for the first time I usually recommend trying out on a unit of skeletons, since you can practice dry brushing and washing with a smaller number of details/textures and only a few colors. This was really nice and concise.

I didn’t really get what you meant by the cloth being the “drama” of the models until you showed em all together there at the end. Wow! Most skeletons just look goofy but these look kinda unsettling.

He taught me some more, I watched him do this on twitch and I learned 2 game changing things.
    1) the brown before the bone is now how I'll do bone color from now on. It is excellent. For me, this was a game changer the way his wet pallette was.
    2) watch his brush stokes in his videos. It is subtle, but it creates a clean line, even on a dirty, grungy skeleton. The music of the brush is, tic, tic, tic.
    Not swoosh.
If that makes any sense to normal humans.
But if you are fairly new to painting, as I am, watch carefully how he uses the brush. It is different than how I did it.
Thank you sir for another instructive lesson.

I just got my first airbrush a couple months ago. I got it so I could stop using rattlecan primers. I bought Black, Dark Neutral Gray, and White primers. I love them, but the dark gray and black are nearly the same shade. So I mix 50/50 dark grey and white to get a good medium gray. I love these primers

All the cursed city videos all my favorite hobby channels are putting out are just like grinding salt and lemons into the wound. I know that isn't the intention, but i'm still bitter about not being able to get one for my son after i promised him we'd be able to get one. I don't do the scalper thing, so that's it. I guess i'm going to just take a couple weeks off til this blows over and everyone is done painting the cursed city stuff. The way this was handled really turned me off GW and i'm looking more at private 3D printers and indy game rules.

Get phoning round the shops - you never know, someone might have one. A number of shops have them still, apparently. For a promise for your boy, it may be worth a longer drive than usual. Good luck getting one.

It might be in stock in my local store, that's why I've not checked! It's better for my bank balance and pile of "opportunity" if I just keep telling myself "Oh well, it's out of stock!" then stick my fingers in my ears and go "lalalala" when anyone suggests otherwise.

Look I don't want to be rude here , but I'm a new to the channel type and because I was looking for inspiration for buying and painting skeletons I chose your video. Now I say im new but I do remember watching the odd video a while back , probably about techniques or something. But anyway this time I want basically to SEE some skeletons and SEE some cool figures that I might like.
Well here's the problem , I know you like to discuss what you are about to do, what ways you're going to do it but Jesus christ I gotta say , TOO MUCH TALKING (and with only your face, - no matter that you're not offensive to the eye 😆- but good god man , SURELY most passing viewers aren't here to WATCH you, they may well be here to LISTEN to you but WHERES THE EYE CANDY??? Where's the models???
I was what? NINE minutes in before I realised I hadn't even SEEN a model let alone anything being painted!!
Now I'm sure , yes you have you're stylistic side to your videos down pat, maybe you feel , it's working so stick with the LONG intro style, the LOOOONG talk first (😔zzz) (jk!)
But I REALLY think maybe, just MAYBE a little picture or two of the subject matter instead of your studio head shot might benefit the channel.
Sorry man , I love your enthusiasm, love your work , I just don't want to waste my time allocated to FINDING the right models and getting inspired watching a fella talk for ten minutes without even showing stuff. I simply had to leave on the 9 mins mark.
(I then thought I'd waste another 15 mins commenting because I was kinda annoyed at myself for sitting and listening for so long lol but I wanted to also critique in the hope it makes you consider the kind of passing traffic you might be losing by not doing a simple thing. I mean you COULD continue to speak but throw in a half dozen pictures too, talk away , just SHOW us something too????
Am I being too harsh??? I hope not , I sincerely hope it helps you out.

Although skeletons may have components which originated from one sex or the other, I believe that they are in fact asexual in nature. Furthermore, since they are generally mindless, I would be extremely surprised if they identified as a specific gender either.
