The number one thing that has to happen in any X9 is to address the cliffhanger- and not just the one with Lumine infecting Axl, but also the one where Sigma implies Wily helped him build his new armor in X5. Are Serges and Isoc actually Dr. Wily in disguise? If so, we definitely need to see that cliffhanger paid off as well.
I agree. For some reason, X7 just sort of soft reboot the story with Axl being in center instead. X7 released not too long since X6 anyway, so I don't see why they have to restart the story.

@0:16 It may not seem like it, but there was actually a point where we all thought Street Fighter was more or less dead. It actually is similar to what happened with Mega Man: Capcom spammed entries so much that even the good ones were likely to be overlooked in the face of declining interest. It does get confusing because of re-releases that doubled as mild, mild updates (like online play when that wasn't a given) and crossover games. Sure, it was a _very_ short gap in retrospect (3 to 5 years, depending on what counts), but when it seemed like every year had at least one *major* Street Fighter game or Street Fighter spinoff game, it seemed like things were done until Street Fighter IV revived the series.
Given that there always seems to be some sort of rerelease of Street Fighter II coming out, I was under the impression that it was never totally neglected. Admittedly, though, I pay a lot more attention to the Mega Man side of things, and I do seem to remember being vaguely aware of people not being as keen on 3 and 4. Weird to think about, given that for a while there was a bit of a debate on whether Ryu or Mega Man was Capcom's mascot.
@@ExploDjinn Here are some things I would love to see in MegaMan X9 or even X10 if possible. *1.* I agree with that idea for playing as one character first then the other after doing their story just like in Sonic 06 and Sonic Heroes, but more refined and streamlined. *2.* The starting characters should be X, Zero and Axl, and after them, Alia, Layer, Pallette, Marino, Vile and then perhaps the Original MegaMan. *3.* If MegaMan X10 were to come later on, I think X and the Maverick Hunters could use a new ally to play as, for his name, I'd go with Joshua 'Josh' Knight/Phantom, he's a human but after getting into an accident the night his father was murdered by a criminal, he becomes a cyborg to fight against crime. X saved his life once and he owed him for that so he looks up to X as the big brother he never had. *4.* Aside from the Dr. Light capsules to give new parts for X and Zero, let's also try making a capsule from Dr. Kossack and also give parts for Axl, Alia, Layer, Pallette, Marino and Phantom. For one of Phantom's Armors, it draws inspiration Transformers, namely Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, for Alia, one of her Armors would draw inspiration from the Beast Wars character Blackarachnia, Layer's is based on Kamen Rider Decade and so on. *5.* I think that there should also be a kissing scene between X and Alia. Because, everyone I know ships them, so I feel it should be made official.
Three of the things on my wish list is expand viles story, flesh out his character, and make him playable (he is quite literally the perfect shadow to X's sonic) Edit: Also dr doppler needs a return (I know you hate this) but not as a bad guy, we never knew what happened to him after x3 (because the good ending is the canon ending so he might still be alive) he'd be like a second dr Cain.
bruh, he died. pretty sure that ending is canon and the other one is fanservice do Zero. You aren't even supposed to get that if you went for the saber, so... I don't think these endings work in the way you think.
@@LightStreak567 Isn't more so that Sigma is gone for good due to the new generation Reploids not being susceptible to the Sigma virus but he still exists within their DNA or programming? Maybe there was a prototype new Reploid that still contains said virus kind of like Axl. Not that I really would like to see Sigma come back once again. I'd rather see the Sigma virus come back as some sort of corruption, rather than bring him back completely. That being said, I would rather the X series to come back to link the X series with the Zero series and fully showcase the Elf Wars.
Like with how Mega Man 9 10 and 11 seems to have a small connection with the X series (9 suggests possible end of the Robot Masters, 10 introduced a flu similar to the Zero Virus, 11 could explain X's increased power). I think it would be fun if X9 starts a series of games that can be a hint to the Zero series. Like a nod to the creation of the Cyber Elves or the start or hint at the creation of the series of robots that replace the Mavericks in that series. Maybe even include an appearance from a young Dr. Weil. Another thing is showing us the start of the story explained at the beginning of the first MMZ game.
@@FredMaverik That could also work for that story. But I like my game idea. Another thing I thought of is having X9 look like X7 & 8 to keep the theme of the series coming in threes in their art style
My main hope is that they'd continue the story - and not bring sigma back. He met his end in x8, the way they did that was also quite interesting so let's not have cap com pull a "somehow palpatine returned" scenario here. I have seen other videos that handle the whole luminescent possesn thing in interesting ways, I'd recommend checking them out, because they balance the playable characters and interwoven stories well. as for playable characters, I'd maybe replace Axl with either the navigators or maybe someone like signal etc. I wouldn't bring in too many others because then that contrives the balancing and the narrative. Something simple yet definitive would be a great way to end the x series (assuming it ends with x9).
I'd be ok if X ended aside from spinoffs and they gave us Mega Man AX(l) and really focused on Axl's mechanics in either 2D or 3D. X and Zero could still be in the story and even playable, but wouldn't be the stars because they'd be dealing with elf stuff. I could see it through something like the team up system or just have each stage require Axl team up with another character to complete the mission and then the final stages would let you assign members of your full squad where you think they'd be best. Like maybe you'd want to assign X to a section that requires platforming and Zero to a cramped hallway full of enemies with traps that require precise timing. If it takes place after Command Mission by all means bring in characters like Massimo and Marino for this. I just think with Sigma definitively dying (again) in X8, it would be best to end the X series because Sigma being a major villain in each game seems a key trait in mainseries X games, and I don't want them to trivialize his "real death" any more by bringing him back as a bad guy anymore. A new series could carry on a lot of the same elements, but be free of having anything to do with Sigma besides showing the mother elf absorb the last remnants of the Sigma and Maverick Virus. Plus Axl has always been kind of overshadowed.
At the very least, all I can really want is to expand on what X8 has done, maybe have the playable cast of Command mission be DLC playable characters, and optional levels that have no impact on the main game. They are maverick hunts and we only ever see them do major serious situations. Having some "side questions" in the form of regular maverick hunts could be interesting to see in a slice of life sort of way.
I don't think Sigma or Vile are coming back. A big part of X8 was the whole new generation reploids and moving forward, even Lumine and Zero say Sigma won't be coming back, I assume that applies to Vile as well. The other points are lit tho, after Isoc in X6 we dont get to see much from Wily in the series so maybe X9 or X10 could tie that up.
If they'd gone right from X8 to X9, I could see it, but as long as we've gone between titles, I imagine it'd be a hard sell to bring the series back without its star bad guy. The poor sales and subsequent break are the big reasons I'm so worried about them just skipping over the Lumine bits if they do an X9, though I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.
i'm normally a gameplay type of person, but i ended up coming up with story for this concept while i was sick laying down. a lot of this is half-baked and i'm not sure if i feel like going over it with a fine-tooth comb. I would want Vile to be the primary antagonist. Axl isn't playable from the start, this is a direct continuation of X8. To save their friend, they would go through the 8 stages, looking for parts that could revive Axl. (ref: X2) doing this would unlock Axl mode. In Axl mode, you would be Axl solo, unable to play as X/Zero, playing through the stages mostly as normal. Axl wakes up to some ominous figure, talking. “Sigma?” he utters, realizing it sounds wrong, but before he can ask any questions, he wakes up. After the intro stage, Axl has a headache and collapses. This causes a timer to appear on the main menu, which ticks down 1 for every time you leave a stage, or continue. Cutscenes begin to play as it gets closer to 0, and upon doing so, you become Evil Axl, letting you enter the last stages with X/Zero Bosses. X: “Axl…” Axl: “Heh. What’s wrong, X? Not so happy to see me, huh?” X: “You’ve been corrupted by the Zero Virus.” Axl: “Bet you wish you didn’t turn me down now?” (ref: X7) X: “Is this what it meant to become a Hunter, Axl? Axl: “I don’t care about that anymore. The Axl you know is long gone.” X: “I don’t want to do this! Stop it Axl!” Axl: “Enough of your whining! Now, we battle!” X: “...” Axl: “Get out of my way Zero!” Zero: “So…what X said is true. You’re just another maverick!” Axl: “Ha! Isn’t that a bit rich coming from you?” Zero: “!” Axl: “You have no right to judge me, Zero. The virus came from you, and spread to countless Reploids!” (ref: X5) Zero: “...Yes. But you were also taken in by HQ, not unlike me.” Axl: “You were brainwashed! You have forgotten who you really are!” Axl: “Come, Zero. Let us fight together. Reclaim your awesome power.” Zero: “Maybe I have forgotten who I am…” Zero: “But I’ve seen who I was before, and I can’t go back. I’m sorry, Axl…” Finally, after beating Vile, you would get a cutscene, similar to Sigma and Zero’s original fight. They’re close, but Axl gains the advantage, before seeing something of X’s and freaking out. Vile takes advantage of the situation and crushes the headgem. Evil Axl would also share traits of Zero, such as doing double damage with his buster at the cost of lowered defense (50% more damage) as he gets closer to becoming Evil Axl, a red gem inside his headgem grows, shattering Axl’s when he goes through his transformation. Oh, and make it 16-bit, just like how MM9 went back to 8-bit
I'm sure Axl will be the main villain in X9, which will explain why he's absent after the X series. With that hopefully it leads into the time skip for the beginning of the elf wars where Zero goes to sleep and is awakened to help X in his spoiler body, but I doubt they will do anything.
The multiple storylines combining idea sounds similar to what MMXtreme 2 did, but on a stronger console you could do it better. Considering where we left off with X8 if we want an Axl storyline it could take place entirely in his subconscious as Lumine tries to take it over. That way he has an excuse to fight some past Maverick bosses (with better graphics and stronger attack patterns, natch) while X and Zero fight the new guys. Speaking of new guys, like you said it would be nice to have Signas playable but he's never given much development. My idea for an X9 storyline would change that: An old war buddy of his joined the Maverick Hunters alongside him years ago, but Signas was made commander while his friend was only made a captain due to his more aggressive personality. In the present, Signas authorizes the reduction of the Maverick Hunters' authority proposed by the human government (done in order to try to stop what we know will happen in the Zero series; the Hunters becoming the government). This angers the already jealous captain and he turns on Signas, capturing him and declaring himself the commander, creating a schism in the hunters that is the main battle, the 8 'Mavericks' being veteran hunters who joined that captain's side. This would be the civil war that X and Zero are dealing with while Axl is trapped in a coma. If we want to go dark we could end with Signas dying at the hands of his old friend and declaring X the new commander. This also provides an opportunity to give Sigma a spot without him taking over the plot- he volunteers to join the rogue captain's faction not because he believes in his cause, but because he will take ANY chance to make X and Zero suffer despite no longer having his virus' power, taking over Vile's traditional role, perhaps using different variations on his usual body in each fight.
Having Axl fight Lumine in his mind would be my choice for his final boss encounter, with full possession of his body being on the line. Maybe throw in something similar for his intro stage, but for the finale at least, I definitely think it'd be the way to go.
things i'd want for x9(which pretty much will happen just a "only a matter of time" with how legacy collection foreshadowed it/might happen for x's 30th anniversary next year.) : 1.continue off x8's cliffhanger focusing on lumine possessing axel searching for a way to create a program to fix him finding out who created him(would love if it was dr. cossack/dr. lalinde from the archie comics.). 2.bring back fmv cutscenes as that was missing for x5 with how it was supposed to be a grand finale. 3. have the ride armors be like x3 where they had variety but were underused only to get light capsules, have level design based off it. 4. have a human antagonist alongside maybe more human characters(outside dr. cain who dies in maverick hunter x/outside backstory causing the events doesn't factor much to the main story humans are nonexistent in x.). 5.bring back the navigators as playable characters(i love alia, layer especially & palette and would love more scenes of them with their respective partner.) alongside signas, douglas(maybe reveal he repaired gate after x6 as he just disappears after it.) & maybe bring in the command mission characters. 6.have playable mavericks with the option to save them(missed opportunity for x4-x6 and could've added to the story helping in the stages after sparing them as the maverick hunters tbh do just mindlessly kill at times without a real negotiation that the maverick term was used for anything different in the ps games.) or for axel have him copy mavericks letting you "play' as them(which would be a + with how underused or borderline pointless in the previous games his copy ability was.) as i loved that about powered up compared to maverick hunter x. 7.if vile comes back continue his maverick hunter x character who wanted to change the world his way showing he has as much potential as x/his manga personality or have him team up with dynamo as he's still running about(and tbh think in x5 with how it was originally the finale vile should've been in it or x7's antagonist instead of sigma manipulating red alert.). 8.instead of arcade mode(just make a megaman fighting game for that, revive rockman online or capcom vs. capcom game with the amount of series they could make a new game with.)include a "memories" mode that has fights against the previous mavericks retelling the story so far with cutscenes(like more of iris and zero's relationship.)/show more of the characters lives when they're not fighting all the time enjoying the peace they earned. 9.lead into the zero series with the creation of the mother elf(showing it destroying sigma for good.),dr. weil & the elf wars(love the archie comics showed axel helping out during it.). 10.continue the dr. wily is alive through his conscience in the wily virus plot(could reveal he a puppeteer to sigma explaining him becoming more deranged until after the ps1 games.) as the last we saw of it was isoc in x6/tatsunoko vs. capcom and would love a scene of him and dr. light reconciling seeing how x & zero's potential has impacted the world with them leaving at the end(with dr. wily content and proud of his creation even if he's friends with x.).
I would be thrilled if it was in the art style of 11. Would love to see Axl back as a playable character. Also wish they'd take on the guy working on mmx corrupt while they're at it. No navigators, they're annoying as hell.
I don't mind navigators, as long as they're optional. Interrupting you ever five feet to tell you something obvious: bad. Giving you advice when asked but otherwise you being able to ignore or turn them off: good.
@@ExploDjinn Blah, I mind them. X navigators suck no matter what. Alia annoys me in x5, she makes me want to dump her in the nearest lava pit in x7, the shrill bubbly one has an annoying voice in x8. I guess they're not so bad in the zero games. They give you a briefing beforehand and mostly leave you alone except for dramatic, skippable cut scenes.
Here are some ideas and things I want in Megaman X9 and to be the best or perfect game. Epic story Make Megaman X9 look new Beautiful graphics Beautiful colors New different types of ride armors Strengthened Axl Bullets Awesome soundtrack with beautiful music Excellent voice acting Anime movie cutscenes The return of Layer, Pallette, and Signas The return of Lumine The navigators Alia, Layer, and Pallette becoming fully playable characters Axl as a playable character and Axl is still playable when he's rescued when kidnapped and brainwashed and kept alive. 2 new armors for X The return of the ultimate armor-The most recurring, powerful, and broken armor out of all of the armors. New part upgrades New chip upgrades New special arms for Axl For Megaman X9 to be the best or perfect game to save the Megaman X franchise Puzzles New extra game modes Treasures Epic maverick boss battles Bring back Vile and put him in Megaman X9 Bring back Sigma and put him in Megaman X9 Make Sigma the main villain and final boss of Megaman X9 with 2 new strong and powerful forms The return of Dr.Light New bonuses and art gallery The best and useful weapons and techniques for X, Zero, and Axl A good and happy ending to end the cliffhanger and then one day in the future Megaman X10 If the creators of Capcom Studios don't make, create, and release Megaman X9 I'll have to do it myself and I so look forward to applying for and signing up for Capcom Studios one day in the future. More importantly I don't it when people shit on Sigma I like Sigma and he's one of my favorite Megaman villains and Capcom villains and he's one of the greatest and most iconic Megaman villains and Capcom villains in his own right and Sigma makes the Megaman X franchise great and the Megaman X franchise is incomplete without him and no other villain can replace him and like Dr.Wily of the Classic Megaman franchise Sigma is the main and core villain of the Megaman X franchise. More importantly I want the Megaman X franchise to defend it's title against the Classic Megaman franchise.
Honestly, I don't really see there being too much potential, simply because the X series has a really shaky foundation already with a lot of thematics ruined by overextending Siggy or the lack of positive continuity and the Zero series giving us some serious pushback due to it not accounting for anything beyond X6 due to it being unable to. Axl doesn't help with the second point, considering he seems to have dropped off the map(Probably just died from Lumine's final attack, lol) and largely been forgotten in-universe. My only real solution is to remake everything from X1 to whatever arbitrary point we want to rewrite(maybe even all the way to ZX Advent) in sequential order and put new games into cracks we find along the way, which would never officially happen since it is potentially replacing over 20 games when their first attempt at a remake already bombed. As a meme-aside, imagine they curveball us really hard and give us Zero 5 instead, where we play a character or a helperbot of some kind that assists in the creation of the Biometals from ZX. Not too exciting conceptually, which is why I don't think the game ever needs to exist, but it would be funny.
I feel like MegaMan X9 is possible but when it comes out is unknown, however the day I here they make a command mission 2 I will scream my innocence out.
I am an X Dive player, so let me clue you in on a few things. The gacha system is BAD with rates and prices, yet they're on par with the average gacha game. I don't play any other gachas, so that thought terrifies me. Also like most gachas, the new unit power creep is absurd, and it requires exp grinding for a bunch of different systems in place of a steady difficulty curve based on level design in the story mode. Some other things, the game is *packed* with fanservice (both varieties), the gameplay runs on the MHX engine but with autoaim/360° free aim and every character having a double jump, the story is a giant 4th wall break starring a merry band of OCs who oversee a network containing players' memories of Megaman games with the occasional Monster Hunter/ Street Fighter data breach, the mobile version of the game has a bizarre shared custody between 2 real world companies, and much of the playerbase is in a death cult that worships the servers going offline (which will probably happen very soon). It's a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but it's a mess I'm glad to be a part of it (especially since I haven't wasted any money on it).
That matches up with what other people have told me about the game, but I'll still probably give it a try under the pretense of doing a video on it. Happy to hear that you've managed to have fun while keeping it free-to-play.
@@ExploDjinn Just two more heads up: Taicom's Steam (TW) and NebulaJoy's Global (NA/LATAM/EU) versions cannot communicate with one another and have many differences, mainly that Global is ~8 months behind Taiwan, which has both pros and cons. The other thing, don't go in expecting to complete the single player in a few days like a regular X game, X Dive is designed to be a _slooow_ burn.
@@mohdadeeb1829 Rather than earn stuff normally, you roll to unlock characters or items. While you can normally earn in game currency to roll for stuff, the fastest way tend to be by spending real money, and you can't even guarantee you'll get what you're after/
Interesting points especially about Zero’s VA. I agree about that. Personally, I like X Dive. It has some issues and I don’t like the gacha mechanic. But I think it is decent fun, if you stay F2P and not take it too seriously. We deserve an X9 soon.
Megaman X9 should include the Elf Wars as a plot point. Dr. Weil should also appear as a young man continuing Wily's legacy as he could also be Wily's great-great grandson. Neo Arcadia will be first settled during the game's plot by the ancestors of the Megaman Zero cast (Dr. Ciel included) and finally, the creators of Harpuia, Leviathan, Fefnir and Phantom should also make their debut in the game which could also be a direct prequel to the Megaman Zero series with Azure Striker Gunvolt-style art and graphics.

There's a lot of stuff I want from a X9. For starters, don't bring Sigma back because he's been in 10 damn X games already, but they can bring Vile back for one last time and they could make him one of the main villians. They can either bring Lumine back or make Axl go maverick from that purple tentacle thing that hit his head gem from X8. If they go with the maverick route, it'll explain why he isn't in the Zero series because he went maverick in X9 and he had to be put down. As for the game itself, I want it to have 18 stages with a intro stage, 8 maverick stages, 2 middle stages, and 7 castle stages with great bosses and fun level design. As for the mavericks, I want a actual good maverick line up with great weapons because X5 was the last game with a good maverick and weapon line up, but even then, it wasn't all that great compared to the last four games. They should also have collectibles for X and Zero, but not too much because otherwise, we'll have a repeat of X3, X5, and X8. They could add Axl, but I'm more interested in him going maverick, so he won't be a playable character in my version of X9. As for the extra modes, the only things I want is a time attack for those who want to see how fast they can beat the bosses and the stages as well as a 8 bit X game where your goal is to get a high score (I love old school arcade games, so that'll be sweet for me). Lastly, they should add a hard mode where enemies and bosses do more damage as well as gain new attacks like Mega Man 10. If you want to go nuts, add a expert mode where if you get hit once, you'll go back to the title screen with no continues. Oh even better, make it to where you get a secret ending if you manage to beat it and all the other difficulties tell you "You beat the game, but it wasn't the hardest difficulty setting, you wimp. Go back and do it again on Expert mode."
@@Rassenomatjutut yeah that'll be awesome and I really want that Elf Wars game. I was gonna ask for it for X9, but due to that cliffhanger from X8, I'll have to wait a extra game for that game. Maybe have a extra Scene that introduces Dr. Weil (Or Dr. Vile in Japan) and show some things that'll lead to the Elf Wars. Catching up on the x series and one after almost finishing x6 one complaint I have is being forced to do the same stage multiple times. I can honestly say it's not unusual to fight a stage multiple times. Let's use the weapon center for example. First time I got there I unlocked zero really cool (I hid myself while I repaired myself doesn't make sense though)but wait why no boss weapon? Second time fought the actual boss and got the boss weapon annoying but oh wait then I had to come back again to finish the shadow armor because I didn't have the blade armor at the time(if there is a way to make that jump without the blade armor please let me know) Every random fight with dynamo means having to beat the same stage again possibly even a 3rd time if you aren't wearing the right armor at the time. Don't know if x7 or x8 fixes this but please don't repeat this in x9. I like how x2 did it, some empty boss rooms that has the chance to spawn one of the guys with zero's parts then after beating them you proceed to the end of the stage and fight the maverick so you can get your new weapon without having to complete the stage again.
Some say the reason they may brush over the events of X8 is because of how long it's been since that game's release; they don't want to "alienate" new players with the lore. Frankly, I still think it's more than acceptable to continue the game's plot where it left off with Axl, after all, the Legacy Collection exists to catch new players up to speed. As for Sigma, yes, he needs to be kept out. He went from one of the most intimidating villains in the franchise to an utter joke with his constant returns (not to mention repetitive...).
So, a thought about Sigma at 5:05, with the New Gen Reploids, Sigma's DNA is embedded, right?...so, that means, Sigma can be rebuilt. But, what if the virus had completely burned out of Sigma? It's clear that Sigma's DNA, Not Zero's is in the copy chips, so, it's entirely possible for Sigma to make a Hunter return. This removes Sigma as an antagonist, and opens up the BBEG to as possibly being Weil, it's just time to bury the virus storyline.
Rather than X9, I'm probably the person who choose the remake path for X series. There are some things that doesn't make sense here and there, we could fix it first before we can actually get X9. I really care about X series. I really mean it, but yeah.. that just me and my biggest dream.
I will certainly rewrite some aspects of the game. 1. I will reduce number of times, Sigma appeared. He appears in X1 however doesn't in X2 and X3 but remains a Shadow/Background antagonist. He finally returns in X4 and his final real appearance is in X5 where he is gone for good. His Copy(ies) will appear in X8. 2. I will introduce Repliforce and Iris earlier in the game. The "Sad" scene in X4 wasn't so sad because Iris appeared for the first time in the exact same game. And I think there were already tensions between Repliforce and Hunters before the events of X4. 3. What happened to Dr. Cain. It's unknown what happened to Dr. Cain unless we are talking about MHX. My best guess is that Dr. Cain died between the events of X3 and X4. However, If I were to remake the story, I would say I will make an end to Dr. Cain.
@@mohdadeeb1829 That's a good rewrite for the plot. As for myself, I would also do that, but more from the game aspects I agree with all of your points from 1-3. But I will add more things, including more changes from the game entries. My idea is, I will change the original order of the Mega Man X games. -Mega Man X1 & Mega Man X2 were already gopod, but starting from X2, I would change the final boss to be X -kai-, the X Clone that was scrapped due to console limitation, and yes, no Sigma. The plot is still the same. It'll be the time when Maverick Hunter hunts down the remaining Sigma rebellion members, and also the conflict between X-Hunters and X, while X also searching for Zero's body parts - As for Mega Man X3, I will change the order of this entry to be in the 4th entry, and overwrite it with Mega Man X7 as the 3rd entry. The reason is because I always think that Axl as a playable character is already too late if he was introduced in X7. The plot goes the same as X7, with Axl conflict between Red. We play as Axl in the first stage, and finally meeting Zero at the half of the first stage, and bringing Axl back to Maverick Hunter HQ. And of course, reducing the cheesy dialogue that X did in X7. Also at this entry, I will introduce Iris in response to your idea. - Now that Mega Man X3 became the 4th entry, overwriting Mega Man X4 as the 5th entry. The plot goes the same as X3, but now Axl will be available as the playable character. Sigma starting to become background antagonist here, and Dr. Doppler will be the final Boss for this entry. I also would like to make more appearance for Dr. Doppler in the next entry because he seemed too important to not come up again. Oh yeah and one more thing, I will introduce Alia, Layer, and Palette starting from here. I have two important reason for this. First, I think Maverick Hunters organization and its member also need more highlight (just look at the Resistance in MMZ & Guardians in MMZX, they both very lively compared to that of Maverick Hunters). Second, it will be a wasted potential to introduce the new navigators at the last entry of the game. - Mega Man X4 is now becoming the 5th entry. The plot goes the same, about Repliforce conflicts and so on, but more details will be added. First, Magma Dragoon and Double's betrayal will be more impactful to the players. I will introduce Double earlier with Dragoon inside the Sky Lagoon. While at the select screen, I will give Magma Dragoon select screen a blank screen for player not knowing that Dragoon is an impostor. and from that on, the story goes as X4 originally did. I could go on but I think you get my point. The thing is, Mega Man X got so much potential, either it be the plot, the Lore, the world building, the characters and all, but as the time goes by, Capcom may not realized it to the point that they left it as it is.
All Fans Should my drawn version of X9 be played with X, X and Zero, or X,Zero and Axl There are four choices 1 Only X 2 X and Zero 3 X and Axl 4 X, Zero and Axl
I... actually disagree with a decent chunk of your suggestions. Now, besides me perhaps just being in a contrarian mood, I'd like to suggest that this should have been three separate-but-related videos: The _conservative_ approach, focused on going back to what made Mega Man X work so well in the post, mostly only changing things where we _have_ to, because we *need* to get the X series back on track! This also means we need to be at least somewhat realistic about how much money Capcom would commit to the project, and the competence of the dev team, and what they could do in the time allowed. The _ideal_ approach is basically what the video is about; if we didn't have to worry about budget, time, (dev team) skill constraints, and (maybe) not even the game topping the sales' charts, how would the game look? Finally, the _hybrid_ approach where we aren't playing it totally safe, but we are still trying to be somewhat realistic. Actually, am I even disagreeing with that? Sorry to be a space cadet - I'm under the weather and probably should have *not* made any posts. So, now that I came back to edit this mess, I'm starting to think ExploDjinn may have said something about doing another video on this. Oh well, in that case, just enjoy my nonsensical ramblings below for entertainment value, and if I actually have any good points, even better. XD *The rest comment will focus on a more conservative approach to Mega Man X9.* So, how about the artstyle? Whatever results in the best looking game. No, that isn't just a copout, lazy answer. If Capcom assigned a team that was good at 2D sprite art, use that. If they're better with 3D models, go with that; this is a great place to demonstrate what my approach is to this proposal. The gameplay itself ought to focus on vintage 2D Mega Man X gaming; I haven't played X7 or X8, and IIRC, sales figures suggest I ain't alone in that. Factor in the criticisms of those games (did X8 have actual 3D segments?) and I think it is best to return to what "we" know about good Mega Man X games. Get X9 out there and selling well, and we can think about going "3D" in a later installment. Given how important the soundtrack is to Mega Man games, make sure that there's a good focus on that as well; it we don't stress that, especially for this pitch, it probably would be neglected. I certainly want X and Zero to be playable. Since I didn't play X7 or X8, I have *no* attachment to Axl's gameplay style. It seems pretty complicated, so I think we ought to reserve him for DLC, and this also ties into making certain the end of X8 *sticks.* Even as DLC, it might be better to change up how he functions. I think I like Axl as a character, but whenever someone explains his "powers", the phrase "MY OC DO NOT STEAL!" immediately pops into my mind. As this is the conservative pitch, we're going to follow the X4 approach where X and Zero are entirely separate; you pick one at the beginning of the game, and you proceed from there. While they'd play through the same Stages, gameplay differences between the two means running through a Stage as X takes you on a partially different path than running through as Zero. I want to resist making it something that feels so contrived as "Only X can enter X doors" or "Only Zero can destroy Z barriers". I am inclined to lean into the X6 approach where X _does_ have his own saber attack and Zero _does_ have his own buster, but they're primary attack is so much better for them. If time and resources allow, I would also like to include something at least resembling the upgrades seen in the latter half of the series (like the ones that improve your jump height, dash speed, etc.) and alternate weapons for X and Zero. See 20XX for how that last bit would work. Aila and Layer (did I get those names right? XP) would be playable as hidden characters; while not purely cosmetic changes, they would just function as X/Zero with tweaked stats because this is - say it with me now! - my *conservative* approach to the game. Hopefully, DLC will let us add a few more playable characters as well. Now, how about Armor? I do want both X and Zero to have access to armor. Trying to think about what would be the safest bet in implementation, without being too disappointing, I am thinking there should be two suits of armor *but* neither is specific to X or Zero. They would be designed with one or the other in mind, but this means we don't have to worry about completely screwing over a character by making "their" armor jank. Armor pieces could be equipped right away, and you could mix and match pieces. There might be a bonus ability only available for a completed suit, however. *There would be no Ride Chaser segments, and **_maybe_** no Ride Armors, either. * When ExploDjinn pointed out how **_every_** X game has Ride Armor, I was like "Wait, they do?" While a good chunk of this is because I haven't played X2 through X6 in over a decade (financial issues means I don't have those games anymore), at least some of it is because the Ride Armors and Ride Chaser segments are... forgettable. I mean, some are really cool (sneaking one in to your Magma Dragoon fight), but some are frustrating (X3 I am looking at you!). I'm not sure if I have a truly beloved Ride Chaser memory; some are fun, some are a little frustrating, and at least one was *very* frustrating. -_- *So, save them for DLC or skip them entirely so the Dev Team can get the core gameplay right.* Now, there's a lot I haven't gone into detail about because I'm just some rando online, not a game developer! XD Also because, as I *keep stressing,* this isn't me pitching my dream game. I'm just trying to get them to a good place so the series can come back and we can (hopefully) get a new entry once or twice a decade.
I didn't feel the need to be too conservative with my ideas because I figured going big with things would make for a more interesting video. That said, if Capcom does make an X9, I think we can expect them to go at least a little bigger than they need to. If you look at Mega Man 11, they punched up the graphics, threw in a more robust item store, a challenge mode, gave Megs different costumes when he swapped powers, added in the double gear system, more complex boss fights, and several difficulty settings, on top of special merchandise like an artbook/player's guide, amiibo and figurines. Given that it's been longer between X titles and it may just be the most popular series in the franchise, I think it'd be reasonable to expect them to put at least that much effort into a new game. That said, if you just prefer a simpler return to form, I certainly couldn't fault you there. Funnily enough, a few of the ideas you mentioned, like the mix and match armor stuff, they actually did in X8. Hope you get a chance to give it a spin yourself soon, but if you're curious about what Capcom got up to when there weren't so many console limitations, looking up a playthrough might be worthwhile.
@@ExploDjinn I suppose I'm just overthinking things, mostly. You're right, they actually did a lot different with Mega Man 11, and I think it turned out well. I haven't played Mega Man X8 - one day, one day - but I actually have some familiarity with it, because I purchased the strategy guide for it. ... It was on clearance for a dollar, and at the time I assumed I'd eventually get a PS2 and catch up on the games I'd missed. XD I did leave something out that I'd like to see added to the Mega Man games in general, and I _think_ it might even be something my conservative approach to the game would allow: Instead of a single "difficulty" setting, it would be nice if they could break up different aspects of the game and let you adjust their presence. What do I mean? Well, different folks have different areas where they struggle. Maybe you just need to do a little more damage. Maybe you just need to take a little less damage. Maybe you just need there to be fewer spikes, fewer enemies, better drop rates, etc. It'd be nice if all of these could be adjusted. There'd be some preset combinations to function as "traditional" difficulties as well.
mega man doesn't really make money. at least not compared to other popular capcom franchises like DMC,MonHun,RE and SF mega man 11 in 4 years got to 1.60 million sales, that sounds good right? but compare this to street fighter which on the same span of time got to 6.60 million sales (that's 4 times what 11 got) resident evil 2 remake,on less time than both those games got to 9 million sales monster hunter world got to 13 MILLION SALES in the same ammount of time see where i'm getting at? mega man doesn't do enough money for them to greenlight a game every 2 years or so,and the employees working on mega man at capcom said they already know how much fans want a new game, but mega man isn't a famous franchise. To a company POV it is much better to just release a famous game that gives you money than to release a niche game just to solve cliffhangers. i say this as a huge mega man fan,and it is very sad that we don't get new games, but we do have a lot of them already
10 things Mega Man X9 should and shouldn't do. 1. Do not play Nostalgia Card: Mega Man 9 was released 10 years after Mega Man & Bass and it went back to basics. While 9 turned out to be a great game, please don't do that for X9. 2. Keep life system: I think lives is what make Mega Man games much more replayable. Unfortunately X5, X6 and X7 ditched it. 3. A female Maverick: Mega Man 9 introduced a female Robot Master, I want X9 to do that. 4. No wokism: Please don't put a Woke thing in X9 like a trans Maverick or something. 5. No Sigma: Sigma should be dead. 6. Bring Back Dynamo: Dynamo was one of my favourite characters in X5 and X6, unfortunately he never came back. I really want him to come back in X9. 7. Don't revive Iris: As much as I ship Zero and Iris, she is better off deceased in X games for Zero's charector. 8. Navigators: What made X5- X8 not as great as X1 - X4 was navigators. Navigators would constantly interrupt you from playing the stages. It reduced fun. So, please remove navigators. 9. Make the game long and new: My biggest complaint about Mega Man 11 was the fact how much it recycled enemies from the previous games and how short it felt. Please make new enemies for X9, do not recycle most of the enemies from previous games and make the game at least 16 stages long (1 into, 8 Mavericks, 1 midstage, 4 Castle stages, 1 stage for Revisits and 1 stage for the final boss) 10. Remove Voice clips: In Mega Man X4, X7 and X8, the character would shout the names of the weapons/techniques he does. In my opinion, it got annoying so please do not have it for X9.

Don't revive Iris: As much as how good Zero and Iris could be as partners, she is better off deceased in X games for Zero's charector. Navigators: What made X5- X8 not as great as X1 - X4 was navigators. Navigators would constantly interrupt you from playing the stages. It reduced fun. So, please remove navigators. You're ignoring something Lumine said. Lumine said Sigma wasn't coming back. So he wouldn't be a future villain. Also the future Zero games didn't have Sigma in them. Just different villains. Seems like you're ignoring logic. In the next x game it's probably just a start menu a cutscene intro stage and bosses. The villain would probably some new generation reploid and with a new group of new generation reploid. Or instead Lumine would be the villain returning in a different body until x14.
If Both and Johnny Don't end up returning as Zero I have found a great replacement actor thanks to HaBeFaStro's Marvel Vs Capcom Series of Videos th-cam.com/video/6l7iDEC2Tqg/w-d-xo.html

@Gundgok He’s back. He just posted a new Mega Man X Corrupted video
Ye
Also what happened to the new generation reploids ?

Three of the things on my wish list is
expand viles story, flesh out his character, and make him playable
(he is quite literally the perfect shadow to X's sonic)
Edit: Also dr doppler needs a return (I know you hate this) but not as a bad guy, we never knew what happened to him after x3 (because the good ending is the canon ending so he might still be alive) he'd be like a second dr Cain.
they already did that in maverick hunter.
bruh, he died. pretty sure that ending is canon and the other one is fanservice do Zero. You aren't even supposed to get that if you went for the saber, so...
I don't think these endings work in the way you think.
If you want an Arcade Mode Just think of a Megaman Fighting game
Hmm... branching stories.
X goes after Sigma, Zero goes after Willy's Legacy and Axel goes after Lumine's plans.
I love it!
Mega Man X8 confirmed that Sigma is gone for good.
@@SwagimirPutin I agree, and we don't know what became of Axl, why nobody remembers him

Capcom: ohhh the fans want MMX9-New X figure coming right up!
Weil. Another thing is showing us the start of the story explained at the beginning of the first MMZ game.
if they do that might as well give us a Zero anime.
Something simple yet definitive would be a great way to end the x series (assuming it ends with x9).
the dream part just sounds like a megaman version of guardian heroes and i am all for it
I'd be ok if X ended aside from spinoffs and they gave us Mega Man AX(l) and really focused on Axl's mechanics in either 2D or 3D.
Mega Man Match has been leaked years ago. But we still now nothing about it. However, rumors said it could be a fighting game.
I'd take anything other than Gatcha, and a fighting game might make me feel a little better about only getting Rock in Smash.
i'm normally a gameplay type of person, but i ended up coming up with story for this concept while i was sick laying down. a lot of this is half-baked and i'm not sure if i feel like going over it with a fine-tooth comb.
X: “Axl…”
Axl: “Heh. What’s wrong, X? Not so happy to see me, huh?”
X: “You’ve been corrupted by the Zero Virus.”
Axl: “Bet you wish you didn’t turn me down now?” (ref: X7)
X: “Is this what it meant to become a Hunter, Axl?
Axl: “I don’t care about that anymore. The Axl you know is long gone.”
X: “I don’t want to do this! Stop it Axl!”
Axl: “Enough of your whining! Now, we battle!”
X: “...”
Axl: “Get out of my way Zero!”
Zero: “So…what X said is true. You’re just another maverick!”
Axl: “Ha! Isn’t that a bit rich coming from you?”
Zero: “!”
Axl: “You have no right to judge me, Zero. The virus came from you, and spread to countless Reploids!” (ref: X5)
Zero: “...Yes. But you were also taken in by HQ, not unlike me.”
Axl: “You were brainwashed! You have forgotten who you really are!”
Axl: “Come, Zero. Let us fight together. Reclaim your awesome power.”
Zero: “Maybe I have forgotten who I am…”
Zero: “But I’ve seen who I was before, and I can’t go back. I’m sorry, Axl…”
Finally, after beating Vile, you would get a cutscene, similar to Sigma and Zero’s original fight.
Yeah, I absolutely hate that last one. Mega man 9 was and is, a major disappointment in terms of graphics. It was purely meant as nostalgia bait.
@@bestaround3323 disagree, the pixel art of the SNES games hold up super well imo.
I'm sure Axl will be the main villain in X9, which will explain why he's absent after the X series. With that hopefully it leads into the time skip for the beginning of the elf wars where Zero goes to sleep and is awakened to help X in his spoiler body, but I doubt they will do anything.
Model A
Nooooo
I just want it to be a new 16 bit game. Every other desire is small.
Plus, it worked for MM9 and MM10.
Maybe throw in something similar for his intro stage, but for the finale at least, I definitely think it'd be the way to go.
things i'd want for x9(which pretty much will happen just a "only a matter of time" with how legacy collection foreshadowed it/might happen for x's 30th anniversary next year.) :
1.continue off x8's cliffhanger focusing on lumine possessing axel searching for a way to create a program to fix him finding out who created him(would love if it was dr. cossack/dr. lalinde from the archie comics.).

A good and happy ending to end the cliffhanger and then one day in the future Megaman X10
If the creators of Capcom Studios don't make, create, and release Megaman X9 I'll have to do it myself and I so look forward to applying for and signing up for Capcom Studios one day in the future.
I feel like MegaMan X9 is possible but when it comes out is unknown, however the day I here they make a command mission 2 I will scream my innocence out.
ikr, we need a 2nd command mission game. command mission is like X7 1/2 to me.
@@sonichacker141 Yeah I keep forgetting that game came out before X8. I thought for over a decade that it was the last X game they made.

Interesting points especially about Zero’s VA. I agree about that.
Personally, I like X Dive. It has some issues and I don’t like the gacha mechanic. But I think it is decent fun, if you stay F2P and not take it too seriously. We deserve an X9 soon.
the gacha mechanic is basically for people to spend money. im trying to play x dive without paying money and it is HARD.

If i ever got the reigns of Megaman Producer, yall know my first course of Business will be about the sequel to X8, Megaman X9.
Artstyle is a 16 bit throwback like the first 3, but it wont be Limited to the Nostalga factor, instead, its a Overhaul of it, choose as Either x or zero on a Adventure to Stop Vile's gang he made known as the Maverick's Cult. Opening stage boss is Axl, corrupted by the Virus from Lumine, dont worry, he's gonna live at the end. And for a fact Xtreme 1 & 2 Will get some love & for the Very first time in ages, The Armor has 2 uses & it is Randomised in diffrent capsules.
Head: Boosts Special Weapons & has a Radar that tells you where the Special upgrades are & what Weapons are the Mavericks are weak to if you got that weapon.
Torso: Halves damage & any lost health will be automatically transferred to the refill tanks if X has one.
Arms: Boosts weapon damage & Charge up to 2 times with the second charge being a Lasso like shot.
Legs: Dash in 5 Directions & the Ability to slide like the classic megaman games.
Special: Chun Li's Spinning kick, double tap the direction x is facing to use it while holding the jump button & he gonna S P I N
And the Preorder bonus will be Zero becoming Iris Another as a Skin.

8. Pyro Skunk (Weapon: Pyro Bounder, Weakness: Hydro Rush)
"A maverick hunter who uses his powers to good use, although hes like chill penguin but bigger & fire themed."
In the secret ending, show X and Zero getting their Zero series body upgrades, which leads to Elf War and Zero series prequel.
By the way, I want that Elf Wars game as much as I want that 1999 Castlevania game we never got.

Agreed, Mega Man X9 seems over do at this point and agree with most of the things said.
Second time fought the actual boss and got the boss weapon annoying but oh wait then I had to come back again to finish the shadow armor because I didn't have the blade armor at the time(if there is a way to make that jump without the blade armor please let me know)
Every random fight with dynamo means having to beat the same stage again possibly even a 3rd time if you aren't wearing the right armor at the time.
IMO the PSX Mega Man X are the best graphic.
No they aren't. The Sprites aren't prominent, they look like the background.
What about the Mavericks? I think it would be great to fight some of the past mavericks.
Some say the reason they may brush over the events of X8 is because of how long it's been since that game's release; they don't want to "alienate" new players with the lore. Frankly, I still
think it's more than acceptable to continue the game's plot where it left off with Axl, after all, the Legacy Collection exists to catch new players up to speed.
As for myself, I would also do that, but more from the game aspects
I agree with all of your points from 1-3.
It'll be the time when Maverick Hunter hunts down the remaining Sigma rebellion members, and also the conflict between X-Hunters and X, while X also searching for Zero's body parts
- As for Mega Man X3, I will change the order of this entry to be in the 4th entry, and overwrite it with Mega Man X7 as the 3rd entry.

Should my drawn version of X9 be played with X, X and Zero, or X,Zero and Axl
There are four choices
1 Only X
2 X and Zero
3 X and Axl
4 X, Zero and Axl
I... actually disagree with a decent chunk of your suggestions. Now, besides me perhaps just being in a contrarian mood, I'd like to suggest that this should have been three separate-but-related videos:
The _conservative_ approach, focused on going back to what made Mega Man X work so well in the post, mostly only changing things where we _have_ to, because we *need* to get the X series back on track!
XD
*The rest comment will focus on a more conservative approach to Mega Man X9.* So, how about the artstyle?
-_- *So, save them for DLC or skip them entirely so the Dev Team can get the core gameplay right.*
Now, there's a lot I haven't gone into detail about because I'm just some rando online, not a game developer!
Dude! Use an Emulator to play X games. I know it's dishonorable but it works.
XD
I did leave something out that I'd like to see added to the Mega Man games in general, and I _think_ it might even be something my conservative approach to the game would allow:
Instead of a single "difficulty" setting, it would be nice if they could break up different aspects of the game and let you adjust their presence.
2d hand drawn by Japanese or Korean ppl. No unreal engine b.s.
mega man doesn't really make money.
at least not compared to other popular capcom franchises like DMC,MonHun,RE and SF
mega man 11 in 4 years got to 1.60 million sales, that sounds good right?
but compare this to street fighter which on the same span of time got to 6.60 million sales (that's 4 times what 11 got)
resident evil 2 remake,on less time than both those games got to 9 million sales
monster hunter world got to 13 MILLION SALES in the same ammount of time
see where i'm getting at? mega man doesn't do enough money for them to greenlight a game every 2 years or so,and the employees working on mega man at capcom said they already know how much fans want a new game, but mega man isn't a famous franchise. To a company POV it is much better to just release a famous game that gives you money than to release a niche game just to solve cliffhangers.
i say this as a huge mega man fan,and it is very sad that we don't get new games, but we do have a lot of them already
Maybe the franchise would be a lot better financially if Capcom didn't machine gun a lot of Mega Man games back in the 2000s.
If most companies didn't solely care about profit, we'd get a lot higher-quality projects, but sadly that's just not feasible.
no inafune X game is died long ago……
Please make new enemies for X9, do not recycle most of the enemies from previous games and make the game at least 16 stages long (1 into, 8 Mavericks, 1 midstage, 4 Castle stages, 1 stage for Revisits and 1 stage for the final boss)
10. Remove Voice clips: In Mega Man X4, X7 and X8, the character would shout the names of the weapons/techniques he does. In my opinion, it got annoying so please do not have it for X9.
mm9 sucks though. but i did like the "going back to the basics" thing. i agree with the rest of what you said :)
not a troll comment
@@LavaCreeperPeople Perhaps Mega Man 9 is a bad game.
But it sold well
@@mohdadeeb1829 Oh.
@@mohdadeeb1829 i posted your comment as my own on the mega man subreddit, abeit, a little edited and they got really mad LOL! this is what i said xD:

Do not play Nostalgia Card: Mega Man 9 was released 10 years after Mega Man & Bass and it went back to basics. While 9 wasn't really a good game overall due to its unfair difficulty, the retro idea was still really cool, please don't do that for X9 though
Keep life system: I think lives is what make Mega Man games much more replayable. Unfortunately X5, X6 and X7 ditched it.
A female Maverick: Mega Man 9 introduced a female Robot Master, I want X9 to do that
No wokism: Bruh. Please don't put a Woke thing in X9 like a ‘trans’ Maverick or something.
No Sigma: Sigma should be dead.
Bring Back Dynamo: Dynamo was one of my favourite characters in X5 and X6, unfortunately he never came back. I really want him to come back in X9.
So, please remove navigators.

the anniversary has passed and still no news for MM12 or X9 from Capcom :(
sorry...
