- Is Capcom Developing a NEW Mega Man Game?? Capcom Shareholder's Meeting Details!
Recently Capcom had a meeting with their Important Shareholder's where they discussed various things about Capcom's future, but more importantly they also discussed the development of a future Mega Man entry! This is pretty big news considering the Last new Mega Man game that was released was Mega Man 11 over 5 years ago, so what does this news mean? Could it be that Mega Man 12 or Mega Man X9, or heck even Mega Man Legends 3 is finally going to come out?? Well I guess you gotta watch the video and find out!

I definitely would like new Megaman games. When Megaman 11 came out, I played it and really enjoyed it. That later got me to try out the Classic and X legacy collections. And then Zero/ZX the following year. And of course Battle Network this year.

A SF collection would have to seriously improve 1 and 2 in order for people who are familiar with these games to be interested. I only played 3, and I don’t regret it.
@227someguy Eh SF2 is the only game that needs any major improvements. SF1 suffers from first game syndrome but not nearly to the extent that BN1 or MM1 does. A couple of tweaks would make SF1 alright to play. I started off with 3 and went backwards, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to play all 3 games again.

I would be possible for Capcom to make a Megaman Legends collection because the series has 3 games:
- Megaman Legends
- The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (one of the most popular villain in Megaman series)
-Megaman legends 2
A collection of these 3 Megaman games would work because, unlike 2D Megaman games that are short, these games are long because there are 3D adventures with a heavy storyline (similar to Legends of Zelda games). a collection of these 3 games would justify the price because of there length.

Megaman Zero ended, but ZX did end on a cliffhanger, they were planning a ZX3, but they decided to cancel it to make Megaman 9 and 10.
Sadly, ZX3 isn't coming anytime soon if ever.

Here’s to hoping the cliff hangers of X8 and ZX Advent get resolved with new entries. They are long overdue.
If we got a Legends Legacy Collection, I simply can NOT see them doing it without including "The Misadventures of Tron Bonne" It'd just make sense to include that in there. Heck they could also include as a bonus the Japanese demo disc for Legends 2 that included 'chapter 1' of the game with some scenes we never got over here, like that part where MegaMan imagines what it'd be like if he joined Tron.
Then personally I'd love it if we at least got that 'Playable demo' of Legends 3 we were promised (Or they blindside everyone by including a completed 3rd game) but that's probably a pipe dream. It'd certainly cause a lot of people to buy it though.
I'd love to see mml3 come with the legends legacy collection, its a perfect opportunity, and the game could look even better on the switch, if the graphics were updated.

I, for one, would love to see them potentially remake the classic series in either the same style as 8 or maybe even 11. Just think of how much more personality and flair they could give each robot master and level if they were all remade. The OG's would always be a favorite, but surely there are some who would love to see a re imagining too

X8 was also in 2D, the only one that was 3D was Megaman 7
@@bassplayer807 They might have meant back to using sprites instead of 3D models. I could go either way to be honest. 2.5D is cheaper to make and still looks good, but I do have a soft spot for the X4-6 art style.

I want a brand new, fully 3D series. It doesn't need a big budget and should just be very colorful and fast paced and should do something new. It would be cool if it took place in space too, like MM5 on GB.

The Zero series ended perfectly in its 4th entry. The ZX series however, ended on a cliffhanger.
Also you SHOULD play the Zero series! The first game is a little rough but still very fun and challenging, but every entry after that is Megaman perfection!
The best solution to grinding is to go out to the scrap area and repeatedly attack those regenerating tower things.

If you haven't played the Zero and ZX series, I highly suggest that you do. To me, they're some of the best Mega Man games of all time. With both series having tight controls with fun, engaging gameplay and a very well-thought out narrative to bridge between the two. Highly recommend that you check them out.
Would be cool to see a "Maverick Hunter: Sigma" game as a playable Sigma backstory!
I'd love a Mega Man X9 with the same control and platforming goodness of the X series. Something a little more adult and something longer. Maybe after the 8 Mavericks it becomes more like a mini metriodvania. That would be dope.

@DarkSymphony777 ZX is alright but the screen is a little crunched which kind of effects the level design. Also makes it so you jump well past where you can see if you Dash jump

@@generaljimmies3429 There is no such game. There is only video. A game is something people play, no one is able to play that and likely never will be able to. Unless the developer releases it upon their death or something where they don't care if anyone sues them. But I do agree Corruption looks like it would be a truly awesome megaman game where it mixes megaman and metroid like gameplay. Though he could change the character design and names so they are not affiliated with capcoms ip and leave the gameplay as it is, he could actually release it and even possibly sell it.
I'd be fine with Mega Man 12 keeping the 3D style of 11. Maybe making the animations more expressive but I really liked 11. I'd also prefer X9 having 3D visuals like X8 but again, more expressive animations, instead of a 16-bit reboot.
I dislike how scrawny they made Mega man look in 11 lol.
Here's a crazy idea. How about a Megaman game based around the world of the "The Protomen". A gritty prequel centered around the rise of Wiley and the story of how Protoman was defeated against the first battle against the robot masters and why Megaman chooses to avenge him. Playing Megaman while listening to "The will of One" is something every megaman fan should do at least once. I'd buy that in an instant.

Yeah I think it might be that they don't know if it will do well overall for a legends 3 considering how niece the legends series is so they will probably do a rereleace for the legends games before a legends 3

If you think that name of the meeting is long, imagine being someone in the meeting thinking "this could have been an email."
My feelings about Capcom's answer is more worry than not. After Megaman 11, the producer said the next title was in development during 2019. That, and of course Taisen we keep hearing about. Then instead of even implying they are working on something, they are acting like they are evaluating the idea of a new one, instead of working on one currently. It makes my hope drop to the floor, that maybe Tsuchiya was just bluffing or calling it too soon because he figured they WOULD begin working on it very soon because of the success of MM11, but perhaps Capcom didn't think the same way.

In hype, yes it was a success. BUT in terms of sales efficiency it was a total failure.
Point in Comparison: Monster Hunter's LEAST Popular Title "Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin".
Mega Man 11 ONLY managed to reach record sale figures in FIVE YEARS after repeated price cuts to its selling price, BUT Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin not only managed to exceed that level of sales figures, but literally accomplished that feat in just 14 months from launch with barely any price cuts in the process, as well as potential competing Mobile Game of similar genre "Monster Hunter: Riders" (live service Mobile Game from February 2020 - June 2022) the entire time.
And sadly Capcom BoD's cold response to any new Mega Man Project for consoles could have played a part in Tsuchiya finally calling it quits after completing Street Fighter 6 as replacement for Yoshinori Ono, who actually himself resigned from Capcom in 2021 for similar reasons (and Ono later found renewed passion in Game Production as current Chairperson of FGO Developer Lasengle).
@@TsurugiMatsuda in sales it was also successful? That's one of MM11's biggest achievements is how much it sold compared to virtually every megaman title out there. Comparing it to a completely unrelated series is not a showing of how successful it is for what it is. Monster hunter even at its highest cannot sell as much as Pokemon's least popular game, which seems to be the current gen. Does that mean that monster hunter is a failure? Absolutely not.

Capcom's answer sounds to me very much like "We have no plans, but saying that out loud wouldn't be wise".
It's obvious they aren't planning to make only lagacy collections in perpetuity for a very simple reason^ they are running out of legacy games.
My guess is, somebody among the ranks are kooking some ideas, but the upper management may not give the green light untill the legacy well dries up.
I wish to be wrong, though, and hope we'll see something rather soon.
I must say, be mentally prepared to be proven RIGHT once again, just like any other time.
Do not forget that Capcom has NO plans of appointing any successor for Series Producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya who resigned from the company in June. So long as there's no one taking over as Series Producer there's no reason to have any optimism of any new Mega Man Titles which has been running on empty for years on end.

About additional Legacy Collection candidates: *there are a **_lot_** of "miscellaneous Mega Man games" out there.* As in, more than enough for a 2-part Legacy Collection, and _without_ including the _Legends_ and _Starforce_ subseries. I'm almost disappointed Capcom isn't trying to milk us dry with such a Legacy Collection, as it could easily reach four or five parts with five to six games per "volume". _Almost._
I just want an X9 game picking up from where X8 left off. It doesn't matter the graphical style or which game they decide to build the gameplay style upon, I just don't want to seem them dropping the cliffhanger for nostalgia sake.
Technically 3 entires, you're forgetting Misadventures of Tron Bonne which I'm sure they'd include. Although a Legends reboot would be nice.

It's combined elements from Mega Man 2 and 4.
You play three missions. 1: the meg man 4 story, 2: Willy's robots kidnapping the daughter, 3: proto man rescuing the daughter.
They should totally make Mega Man Rock n Roll an official game!😎👍🏾💯

2:13 the Zero series actually has a pretty solid ending, ZX ends on a cliffhanger.
Zero series ended perfectly in Megaman Zero 4. There IS a detail in the ending that could be seen as "cliffhangy", but if you don't read too much into it it's pretty obvious what happened there, especially with how the ZX series kicks off like a 100 years later. That sequel series, though, DID end in a huge cliffhanger, almost as bad as Legends 2.
I need another Zero or ZX game, desperately.

Megaman 12 can literally use double Bass and Protoman as a focus point for the game I'd like them as playable characters with a power bottle like moves implanted overall I hope X9 is in production still and 12
There's still enough classic games to release Legacy Collection 3 and 4. They could have colorized versions of all the Gameboy games along with Battle and Fighters from the NeoGeo Pocket Color and Mega Man Powered Up on one. Then have Soccer, Wily Wars, MM and Bass, the 2 arcade games, Battle and Chase, and a localized Rockboard one the other.
I have something even better than a sequel to a single iteration of Mega Man. Why not have a new installment featuring every generation of Mega Man ever and their respective casts. One that ties up loose ends on all fronts (I.E. resolve unresolved stories from all installments). The original Mega Man will be the primary focus to make up for how low on complexity the he is compared to the cast of Mega Man X. It could work because all the tragedy and hardship in the series stems from his and Dr Light’s war with Dr. Wily. That way it’s not fan service for the sake of fan service. He’d help characters across generations through their tragedies. After all if you think about it this whole series centers on the drama between two scientists.
I wish they’d just do a game boy port of megaman V. Hell remake the game with mm11 graphics, my dream would come true.

If I got to pick a new game I'd 100% go for a new ZX game, however I know it's unlikely. I'd accept anything though, hopefully we get some sort of game announcement soon! They may also still be working on Taisen, I doubt the game would be scrapped considering the huge budget the game has had, though no official announcements have been made yet.

Sorry but it just won't happen. I'm not being pessimistic, just realistic. Because it's nowhere near popular as the rest that are much more likely to get games. It's better to not expect anything from ZX but from any other series, even Legends if you prefer because it's having more traction. @@sillyaxel

I would say the Zero series is the only series that had a sense of finality and conclusion, Classic will always be left ambiguous until they decide to approach X and Zero in it's infancy...much like Megaman Unlimited tried to do.

I don’t know. Mighty No. 9 is more likely to have a sense of completion in its sequel than getting another Mega Man Game. Especially since they actually have a mystery to reveal and finish.

@@SonicSlicer When you look into the MN9. franchise and get a sense of the plans it had with Ray and White, it’s actually quite sad how it all died because of all of the gossip and drama mankind loves to sweep themselves in. The kind of drama that would’ve killed Mega Man from its start now killed Mega Man nearly for good as well.
People thought they were being professional and amazing critics, when they were actually monsters seeking for blood to harvest and devour. Resulting in everything dying. It’s kinda funny how we could’ve gotten a short series of games that would’ve brought life to a shelved franchise, only for everything to perish, and no one repenting.
@@justice8718 Which is fair, and you can imagine that any company who would want to pick up Mn9 or re-do it in such a way that it can bring everything that was intended to be brought out is going to take a look at that internal drama (then there was development hell, but that's separate, I think) and attempt to separate what's true from what's BS.
Which at the end of it all, it'll leave that company asking "do we want to attach ourselves to this product?"
The Megaman Zero series had a story that already concluded, there's no space for a newer game. The ZX series are a sequel to the Zero series but some centuries into the future. These games are metroidvanias for the most part. You will have a good time, some games reward you by punishing yourself too.
if there making new Mega Man Games, there's a high chance it be with some of the canceled Mega Man Games like Legends 3, Star Force 4 and the darker FPS Mega Man X game and direct sequels such as Mega Man 12, Battle Network 7, X 9, ZX Advent Sequel and a entire new Mega Man game
My perfect X9 would be 2D gameplay but 3D graphics. Basically 2.5D which I get why players hate so much. I like it... The detailing.

@@Raylightsen Remember Capcom made X6 and 7x without Inafune and they didn't turn out great. This is because Inafune outright said that he wanted X 5 to be the last of the x series in general.
Thats why the Gunvolt games are great because was involved with them, especially the first one.
I'd love a grid based tactical RPG similar to Final Fantasy Tactic and the Disgaia series.
Toss in a little Chrono Trigger to round out a roster full of Megamen from throughout the generations and his friends, of course.
Edit: Photoman needs a pet. Megs has Rush and Bass has Treble.. He needs cool ass falcon or something. Big enough for a special combo armor that allows him to fly around.

It's like Overwatch in almost every way. Mega Man teams up with humans that can fight robots.
Just hope it’s Legends-related. It has the longest drought of any of the series when you consider the age of the franchise.
Also there’s 4 entries in the series and this error is how I know you’re not a fan lol. Legends 1&2, Misadventures of Tron Bonne, and 5 Islands Adventure. With the latter possibly being the “technical issues” as it was a mobile phone game that came out before smart phones. The fan community actually recently extracted the data for the game and it is now downloadable for play.
God, I NEED X9.
X series is my freaking childhood and another game would be awesome. But I hope they will learn from mistakes of past games.

The work on Legacy Collections isn't finished yet...the Game Boy games would be a very quick cash grab with minimal effort and maximum result. 🤷♂️
So I'm going to be a tad blunt, starforce didn't get a lot love back in the day SF4 was shelved do to low sales.
And the BN fans back in the day pushed against it hard, do to the all the complexities of the old battle system more or less being scraped completely. In favor of something that was more of Arcady feeling version of BN1.
Starforce 3 did a lot to fix this, but the brand damage was already done at that point.
A new BN game, or a spin off of BN is very likely. A starforce collection is also very likely.
But a new starforce game? I wouldn't put money on that.
x9 could be a bridge between the x and zero series. fighting the elf wars.
zx3 would be cool as long as they don't do the transform gimmick. made zx 2 very clunky.
legends 3 would be awesome if followed by remakes of 1 and 2.
mm12 will do fine if they stick with the megaman 11 form.
Plus the legends 3 could get a graphical enchainment.

Regarding Legends 3 and Megaman Legends Legacy Collection, I have a feeling that Capcom may end up releasing both titles an interesting way;
Capcom will create Legends Legacy Collection in which it will include Legends 3, incentivising fans to buy the collection.
Capcom will make it so that Legends 3 will only be available in the collection (for some time)
That sounds like they’d be holding it hostage. I still remember when Activision tried something similar with a CoD MF by bundling it with a newer game that fans were on the fence about. People were livid when that happened.
They wouldn't do that. However, they COULD potentially include the 3DS demo of Legends 3. As a test to see if the demand is actually there besides just a lot of internet void yelling.
@@SuicidalImpulse The reason Legends 3 was canceled is because Keiji Inafune left Capcom. Usually when a creator leaves the franchise, it's a death sentence.

Sadly there is bad news the producer of Mega man 11Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has left Capcom. Since Keiji Inafune leaving Capcom is what caused the Mega Man drought, this gives me a reason to be worried.
MEgaman Legends 3 got to a beta. All the design work is done. All they would have to do is make the game.

They could make a Legends Series trilogy if it included The Misadventures of Tron Bonne! makes it much more enticing as this game goes for like $600 CIB so....yeah

I wouldn't mind a new X game in a throwback style like 9 and 10 for the OG series but I think I'd really just like Mega Man 12.
I think there are three possible - even plausible - outcomes Tooterp either didn't mention... or that I was stupid and missed. XP
1) Capcom releases a new *remake* of an existing Mega Man title.
2) Capcom releases an entirely *new* Mega Man subseries.
3) Capcom... does nothing. >_
99.9% chance it will be No. 3, UNLESS people involved come out to say otherwise.
BUT then again, said people involved are NO LONGER Capcom Employees anymore, so......

We need something like megaman x 9!!! Make it with awesome graphics, long storyline and something like an open zone kind of like sonic frontiers. It’s time for new execution in the 3-D gameplay! Make it detailed And serious. Just imagine it’s dark, X is walking around broken down ruins, it’s raining water droplets coming down on him, you see his armor with tear and wear And him glowing a bit.
I think it'll be cool if Dr. Light's other robots (ex: Cut Man) were playable in MM12, imagine that.

I think a cool possibility would be a entirely new Megaman series that takes place after zx or legends . Mabey a real 3d Megaman game that plays like x n classic with dashing in 3d .
Yeah, maybe a series that explains how Master Thomas' plan to 'reset' the world eventually gives rise to the System, Reaverbots (which I think are highly evolved Mechaniloids), Elysium, and maybe the origins of The Master. Maybe. What about that idea?

Good lord, I hope any of the games in your thumbnail come to fruition in the next few years. Most notably an X9 in the vein of X-X4 and a Megaman Legends 3 or Remaster of the original.
If I'm not mistaken, the MegaMan series with cliffhangers are X, Legends and Zx (Not Zero). They should focus on getting those out in my humble opinion, as much as I'd prefer a MegaMan 12.
There’s also the possibility of an Xover 2 or a completely new series.

I would love to see a sequel from the x series at first. X8 left us wanting know more about the lore and, for all of us that played the zero series, want to see the ELF wars that was a prequel to the zero series. That would be amazing. Really would.
After that i would like a classic entry. Why wait longer for a new entry? Because we already saw the success and that it would be profitable. It would not change not that much for the lore, but i would love to see the return of bass and protoman to the game. That would be great. Also some canonical mention to x and zero development would take the hype to the roof.
After that, i know it’s unlikely, but I most likely want to play a zx3. The finals make a lot things wide open for the future of the franchise.
MML3 it would be amazing. Truly. And right now is the time for that. MML3 could do well on the switch like zelda did and could be a amazing exclusive.
I know its more likely, but the series that i care less is the the BN. Its not canonical, but it sold well. I only would wanna that to keeping Megaman relevant, but its not my favorite one.
I’d love a new x game. Even a new command mission would be cool. I’m not a big fan of the og mega man. Idk why but we already got 10 and 11 , also 9 if I’m remembering correctly. So really love a new x game

I think it’d be wise if they did a legends 3 but they put it in a complication so people can play legends 1 and 2 and also play 3. Like how .hack had three games in a compilation plus a new one in it.
Since there is no actual megaman release past,We should be united and Start a petition which all influencers must promote on their videos.. i guess they can hear us in that manner too and might develop a new game.. the change,org petition that i saw doesn't even have 100 signatures, capcom won't even budge an eye towards that petition.. we should let yt channels who make content on megaman to promote that, so that atleast they could listen to us.. hope someone notices this comment 😅😅
