I'm Wes, and this is pretty much a Mega Man channel. I try to clear at least one of the Blue Bomber's games a week, along with a Mega Man-adjacent title, and then post the highlight clips here. Sundays, I try to do a scripted video, like a review, a closer look at a specific character, or a numbered list. And since I'm a huge Nintendo shill, I mix in a few videos from other series as well.
Mega Man X is the perfect game, Shovel Knight is the best Mega Man inspired series, and my favorite Pokémon is Gardevoir.

More Mega Man Merch
It's been awhile, but I'm showing off my collection of Mega Man goods again, just in time for the holiday season! No, Christmas is still a ways off, if you start getting geared up this early, then you'll be part of the problem. Okay, let's say I'm doing it because I feel like it. That's accurate and less objectionable enough. I've picked out ten more odds and ends, so give them a look. Maybe you'll see something cool, perhaps even some things you recognize.

Shadow Generations- Worth the Upgrade?
มุมมอง 64วันที่ผ่านมา
I tried to resist, at least until the reviews came out, but they lured me in with that preorder bonus. I'm an idiot. Oh well, since I bought into it, might as well talk about the remake, or at least what's new. They redid Sonic Generations, adding in a whole new campaign that wound up actually being a lot meatier than I suspected. And it's not just game length, Shadow himself also has a lot of ...
Memories of Brawl

Sometimes I think about how Brawl, while probably not my most played in the series, is probably my most remembered entry. And there's a lot of reasons for that, some good, some bad, quite a few being from the time leading up to the game. Guess I'm feeling a little nostalgic this week, because I'm going down memory lane to discuss just what made Brawl stick with me to much and maybe reflect on m...
The Doc Robots- Fun or Frustrating?

I like these guys, but it's come to my attention that that might be an uncommon opinion. So I poked around Gamefaqs, Reddit, and my own Discord to see what some of the common complaints were and, after a brief summery of my own love of them, want to just lay out where the ire seems to be coming from. Am I wrong? Is everyone else? Let's see if we can't figure it out. Wiki page: megaman.fandom.co...
Kirby's Dream Land- A Simple Start
มุมมอง 139หลายเดือนก่อน
Just a nice little review of an old Gameboy game, Kirby's Dream Land. Never had this one as a kid but I was always kind of curious, until I got a chance to play it on the Wii long after. And yeah, it's Kirby, but without a lot of the bells and whistles you'd typically associate with him. Also a lot shorter and easier than most, which is saying something. But hey, that just means I can play it a...

Well, one of them's technically just a very short, free to play game, but it certainly feels like it could be made into something bigger, so I'll include it. I'll go over my basic impressions, as well as whether each sold me on a full, or expanded, edition, as well as whether I'd recommend t...
Mega Man 64- The Legend Begins

We've finally reached the Legends series, though I'm starting off with the rebranded port for Nintendo 64. I did try playing both, though, so hopefully I can mention some of the differences without getting mixed up. I'll try my best. This one's interesting, since while it makes the jump to 3D, it deviates from the formula more than that. While Mario 64 or Sonic Adventure could be described as t...

But now it's done and I'm going to talk about it, along with some of my more notable acquisitions and s...

Mega Man IV- Big Effort

This is the last game to follow the typical Rockman World formula and it feels like Minakuchi really put a lot into it. Of course, it's still on the Gameboy, which comes with certain limitations and it's still...

Mega Man Powered Up- Everybody Hates Bomb Man
Though I dont like that mega man 8 is ranked way too high and mega man 2 is ranked way too low, I can respect you for putting mega man 3 as one of the best games in the classic series
I go for top man first because he is the easiest boss fight even without his weakness. And also because Shadow Man has my favorite weapon, but he's really hard to fight so I get his weakness first
12 days and only two comments?🤨
Screw this boss
That buster is freaking dope
Funnily enough, I'd forgotten about how the different sounds worked on it, so even I was impressed.
As long as they stay out of my time trials I'm cool with it
Love all the stuff!! You should try to get the ruby spears action figures… they are goofy for sure but I love mine! We have a lot of similar stuff however, great collection
Thanks. And if I can find some that aren't outlandishly expensive, I'd be interested in picking some up.
@ I’ve hunted eBay and gotten some good deals. Be vigilant and they appear
Ah, you struggled to catch the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon because it aired before you were home from school. I struggled to watch it because it aired at either 6 AM or 6:30 AM CST. Which meant it was one of it not the very first Saturday cartoon of the day. Plus, wouldn't you know my luck (or perhaps a limited episode assortment?) meant I often caught the same few episodes over and over again. XP
That can seem to be how luck works out sometimes. You watch a show dozens of times, yet it always seems to be the same three episodes.
Only real ones get the thumbnail
I'm gonna be honest with you, Repliforce meant well and only wanted independence and civil rights for Reploids, but their only response to being accused of terrorist activities was to COMMIT terrorist activities. They meant well, but DAMN were they dumb as fuck. Sigma played them like a harp.
My ranking 8. X6 7. X5 6. X7 5. X8 4. X1 3. X4 2. X2 1. X3
I played the original Generations so many times. I basically grew up on it! It was interesting to hear a take on the remaster. I'm definitely going to check it out now. Isn't it wild that Generations is 13? For the longest time, it was the newest Sonic game I had, so that's still wild to me. And Forces is 7! Yikes!
Yeah, never really seems like long, until you check the date. Still recall the shock from when I realized that Pokemon, a series I remember being the hot new thing, was retro.
11: megaman 8 (the only one that I find bad, funny how it's just outside of the top10) 10: megaman 1 (I DO like it. remember there was nothing like it at the time) 9: megaman 5 (bland and the 'gunplay' is terrible but I like everything about gyroman and it does controle well. more complete than 1) 8: megaman 10 (sorry 10 fans but for me it doesn't have what made 9 relevant, joining ExploDjinn on his ranking) 7: megaman 11 (i'm lukewarm on it, it's not bad a bit bland maybe and the other games are just better) 6: megaman 7 (easily the best looking megaman game. it's just good all around and I like the crash out at the end. it's just not very impressive) 5: megaman 3 (kinda feels bad to put it in 5 but I will always have more fun playing 2-4-6. I love everything single thing this game added to the serie but the slowdowns are the worst. 1 may be janky but it feels better to play and I don't like the doc stages) 4: megaman 2 (blaster only. the 'gunplay' is wack. heatman, crashman and flashman stages aren't good but hey it's a unique one compared to the following games like remember alien Wily in its cave? or the 'wall' boss? it innovated, is one of the most iconic sequel ever and has SAUCE) 3: megaman 9 (a game made for the fans. it is unique in that it is way more difficult than the other games so it scratches that itch and the fact there is no slide make it play differently. after bad classic megaman games i'm glad we got that return to form) 2: megaman 6 (they put a lot of efforts onto this one, they didn't have to but they did and I like the goofiness of it) 1: megaman 4 (it refined the serie and kept the sauce, even innovated with the blaster and cossack stuff)
my PERSONAL top is , X , X3, X4 , X2 , X5 , X8, X7 ,X6 💯
Man the topics you cover are so varied -almost too varied ngl, lol. I originally subbed after I watched your video on lives in video games and now you making a video on a game I have nothing to do with. Not complaining (it's your channel anyway), but not something I'm used to for YT channels.
Mega Man is the main theme, but I figure platformers are still on brand enough. It mostly comes down to what I have an idea for and I figure I can put together by the end of the week, while also working a full time job and streaming.
I think you're tripping
One of the most confounding mechanics in a game. For the longest time, I thought it was because I fumbled an input.
x2 is the worst for me levels that you can finish in 1 minute without speedrun hard levels for the sake of being hard
I grew up with x4 - x6.
I have a much bigger problem with their stages rather than the fights themselves.
Sorry but. You kinda suck at playing. My heart hurts when i watch your play clips. Sorry
Another great video.
Thanks for the kind words!
Ngl I kinda just rage quit the game when I got to Vega’s stage
9:33 Fun fact: this was supposed to be an anime with the toyline accompanying it. Just mt theory.
As someone who loved the game from start to finish as a kid, it surprised me to find a lot of people apparently hate these. I love them because they're more game. I think people complaining about the level design are the kind of people who say that something being hard is the game being bad. I do dislike, though, that the robot masters aren't identical to how they were before. I dislike when things brought back have differences to how they were before because it means they got it wrong. It also just throws me off in this case because I'm used to the Mega Man 2 versions, but here, they don't move quite the same, and some of the damage values are different, and there's also the bigger hit box. It's like if the power went off in your house, and someone moved all your possessions 3 inches in different directions.
I don't think hard games are fun, but difficulty spikes can be. I think lack of weapon energy leaving people high and dry, so that they have to SD also grate on people. Still on the side of liking them, though, and hey, fun analogy there.
I mean the bosses itselft aren't that bad, but we really didn't need this part of the game, if the stages were new, sure, but replaying almost identical stages isn't something we need, the concept is good, that you need to use a new weakness, but all doc robots look the same, the could have given them at least new colors for each one, they did remade yellow devil and copy robot in the same game, and they are way better since they look different and have a lot of new attacks so I like that change
The way I look at it, it's more game, so I'm glad that they're there. If they weren't, though, I might have thought the game was a little short, but probably wouldn't have felt like something was missing.
@@ExploDjinn the game would still be longer than mega man 11, honestly the game is too long with those, the stages are such a turnoff because the difficulty rises sharply, the stages are harder than wily fortress, they took the concept and made it good in mm10, where there is the machine that copies robot masters from previous games, while only having 3 fights
I feel like the doc robot should've worked if the levels they were in were actually better than just for the most part feeling like you are employing the stage for no reason
3 was rushed, so my guess is that they had ideas for other levels, but not the time to implement them, so they had to make use of what they already had.
I like the doc robots, although I wish they were just using the Mega Man 2 boss sprites instead of the generic doc robot. Not sure if this is a storage issue (we get a single sprite for each of the 8) or a time to program it in issue. This would also have given them smaller hitboxes.
I think they were meant to be a bit harder than their previous iterations. That said, a bigger hitbox seems like a cheap way to do it, so I hope that wasn't the intention.
How exactly can you "skip" them in a run? Without using a password to get straight to Dr. Wily castle, that is.
I think the idea is, you beat the eight regular bosses, then reset and input a code to go to Wily.
If I haven't defended the _concept_ of the Doc Robots under one of your videos... well, I've done it many other places. XD I do think the execution was flawed, but as a general rule facing the previous 8 Robot Masters sounds like a great concept. Then again, like you, enjoy the rematch battles. Well, I _usually_ enjoy them and it'd feel _wrong_ if they weren't there. XD *Anyway, back to the Doc Robots.* Like ExploDjinn, I enjoy the rematches, working out the new Weaknesses (though don't always make sense), having a slide against them is huge (Mega Man should _always_ have the slide), and them having altered hit boxes is... well, sometimes frustrating, sometimes fun. There are two *huge* problems with the approach: 1) No rewards (save progress) for beating a Doc Robot 2) Two Doc Robots per stage. I realize that Mega Man 3 suffered *badly* from time crunch, and who knows if there was enough memory on the cartridge to do the concept justice, but let me spin a yarn about what could have made it amazing: *1) One Doc Robot Per Stage.* Pretty simple, but two in one makes for a long Stage that can be overwhelming, especially with few checkpoints. This necessitates 8 Stages, but that just means Doc Robot versions of hard Man, Magnet Man, Snake Man & Top Man Stages. *2) A Reward For Beating Them.* Extra Lives or E-Tanks ignore the fact that you're potentially burning through them for the Stages, or you're so good you don't need them. So how about _evolving_ the Weapons. I'd think that just tweaking values in the game, so you got more shots for the same Energy, or better damage, shouldn't eat through the memory. _Ideally,_ though, how about things like improving range or other added benefits? *3) Remix the Mega Man 2 Stages instead of the Mega Man 3 Stages.* While I do enjoy the MM3 remix Stages, it'd be even better if they were the Mega Man 2 Stages instead. This applies even if we *don't* make any of the other changes. Imagine the usual 2-per-Stage Doc Robot Stages being a weird combo of two Mega Man 2 Stages. *4) The Original Mega Man Robot Masters.* If we _do_ want two RMs per Stage, or even if it meant stuff _three_ of them into some Stages of the existing game. *Why?* Satisfaction. Completion. Right now, the Doc Robots feel kind of... incomplete. I mean, besides all the other ways. Since these aren't the actual RMs, there being Doc Robots of them shouldn't cause serious plot issues. Yeah, this would compound most of the other problems, but you'd know you'd *really* gone all out if Mega Man 3 let you (effectively) take on all the Robot Masters who existed by that point! *What about there being 6 and not 8?* Add two more Break Man battles. I mean, if this was about a _modern remake_ of Mega Man 3, I'd just include Time Man and Oil Man... *and* add one more Break Man Battle. Well, technically _several_ more, since I think anytime you fight Proto Man, he should be in his Break Man disguise, only being himself when he opens the path for you in Gemini Man's Stage. Otherwise, each Stage would be a stitched together amalgam of a Mega Man (original game) and Mega Man 2 Stage, with the double boss battle as we're used to (but maybe with *one* extra Check Point in front of the first RM).
I kind of wonder about the reward thing. While I would love extra or improved weapons, since I also kind of view these as the precursor to the secondary fortress thing, it'd seem weird to get something here when all you get there is the ability to progress. Wouldn't say no to something extra, though. Regardless, I would kind of like to see Capcom try their hand at the Doc Robots again, to see what they could do with them under less pressure.
@@ExploDjinn I get what you're saying about a "reward"... but isn't the reason "double fortress" levels don't is they're pretending to be the final fortress stages? ;) I'd actually prefer they gave you something myself but, again, I understand. Maybe we'll find out if that modern. Mega Man 1 through 3 remake goes through?
I don't hate the idea of the boss fights...I hated the stages, I think they are poorly designed and were clearly designed just to be difficult without any sort of balancing. I would never skip them but boy do those stages feel tedious.
While I wouldn't call their stages bad, I definitely think that they ask for a little much for a standard playthrough.
I think they should bring back 4 classic robot masters in future games, especially if they don't do a double fortress fake out, but they should get a harder reimagining of their original level, be themselves and provide a weapon.
Didn't really consider that, but yeah, had they remixed the original level instead, that might have gone over better.
positives: best level design in the game, with great platforming challenges negatives: worst weakness chain in the series (it makes NO SENSE), unforgiving checkpoints, 2 bosses in one stage is a bit too much, DOC QUICK/WOOD
I think the stages would be a bit better if they weren't so stingy with the refills, but they do feel great when you get them down.
I think they’re an interesting idea but weren’t executed very well, but it’s understandable considering MM3 was rushed
Another reason I wish Powered Up had kept going, since a remake could have sanded off some of the rough edges.
These f***ers are like the main reason I hate Mega Man 3 and think it's the worst game in the series. Or at least in the original hexalogy.
I remember hating them. They felt like way too big Hitboxes and in general seemed to do way more damage than everything you faced before, thus made for a huge difficulty spike right before the Wily Stages which not only are way easier, but also throw E-Tanks at you left and right all of a sudden. I always thought this to be a shame, since I really liked their Stages somehow
I'd still say that the Yellow Devil Mk II's harder, but you get two E-Tanks right in front of him. Always feels really off when the big hurdle isn't endgame.
When he ranked ZXA at the lowest. It more sounds like a skill issue
X3 is not only my favourite of the SNES games but also my favourite Mega Man game period. It's the most rewarding to get good at to me and it's also incredibly replayable with all the stuff you can collect, meaning you can do so many routes deciding what to get
X6 > X7. I will die, be buried, and decompose on that hill. If you're talking first playthroughs, you might have a point, but if you know the game and layouts, X6 flows and plays a MILLIONS times better than X7 on a 2nd or more playthrough. Also, unpopular opinions, but I feel X5 and X6 are almost equal in quality. Stages are equal, boss fights are equal, both games have something equally dumb and hateable (X6 has Gate's fight, X5 has the bike stage, one is bad for being too slow, one is bad for being too fast) Also feel X8 is pretty bad too...honestly, you could play X1, X2, and X4, consider it a trilogy, and that'd be totally understandable.
Coming to say that X4 is so fucking good. I’ve only played a little bit of it but it clicks in a way that X1 clicked with me.
for me x1/2/3/5/8 sre better than 4 any one say x4 is the best not.for me he is good but bosses special wepons are suck
Their hearts were in the right place, but do to poor decisions and unfortunate circumstances they ended up doing more harm then good.
4:37 Mummy bandages guys are called mumbies and they have been in every mainline kirby game including Forgotten land. I forgot they existed too and only found this while googling their name. Are they dead waddle dees? Why are they just a floating eye?
I remember seeing them in Crystal Shards but not really in the other ones. I'll have to keep an eye out.
I had a pretty similar Kirby experience, starting with Adventure, and then to Super Star before eventually finding this game at a Best Buy for like $15. I'm pretty sure I knew it was a simpler game with no copy abilities before buying it, even back then. I don't think it's really all that unfair to judge it's short length, even as a Game Boy game. I mean, at this point, games like Final Fantasy Legend and Metroid II were already out, and Super Mario Land 2 was only two months away
Funny thing is a lot of old games are really short, they just throw in Yellow Devil or Bowser Castles with specific correct paths to drag them out, though I'd also argue a lot of them are more replayable.
Yeah, one of the impressive things about the Game Boy Color (and even the Super Game Boy) were _certain_ games (mostly first-party) were programmed to use a specific color palette that the devs thought was most suitable to the game. Hence the Game Boy Color showing a pink Kirby. It was quite a shock when I first saw the white marshmallow was actually pink! XD
The Mega Man thing made me think it was either always a generic set or random. That's pretty neat.
This game was actually kind of hard on the Game Boy. A lot of projectiles and enemies were easy to miss with the low contrast
And I imagine the tiny screen didn't help. Kind of makes me want to try it on original hardware.

The best Mega Man game is 30xx and the best Sonic game is Freedom Planet
Oh have I got an interesting Platformer game demo suggestion for you! It's called Tricky and The Dream Caster, an indie game HEAVILY inspired by the Dreamcast Era and Sonic Adventure! (Tho it plays more like a Collect-A-Thon than Sonic Adventure, also, the stage in the demo, Breezy Bluffs, is not the final ver. of the stage, as the dev has stated they will be reworking the stage, as well as the others, to be more OG Spyro/Nights-inspired in terms of level design.) Btw, the dev released the music for Breezy Bluffs on their TH-cam channel, so if you use one of those TH-cam To MP3 websites, you can use the music from the game if you talk about it.
Tried finding it on Steam at first, but Google led me to Sonic Fan Games HQ. No promises on whether I'll get around to talking about it, but it looks like it could be fun to play. Thanks for the suggestion.
