Skill Issue
We've all heard it and we've all felt various levels of irritation from it, me to the point where I'm doing a video on the subject, despite the likelihood of getting some very predictable comments. I'm not a fan of the phrase, though not because I dislike people disagreeing with me, but more just because of how dismissive it is. So let's if I can't maybe make someone feel bad enough about using it that maybe they try to come up with something a little more creative instead. Or just click off the video immediately after leaving an insult, either or.

    You can really tell that extra love and attention went into X1. The only major downside is that you don't start out with the dash, and since that's such a fun part of the game, I pretty much always do Chill Penguin first. Still, everything else is so good that I'm gonna say it's tied for first place along with X4.

I mostly use it, 'get gud' or 'u suk' ironically, but I remember a professional Kirby review where the reviewer was doodling in the corner of the screen far from Kirby and complaining about Kirby not following the paths she drew. Now, that was a skill issue.

    *So this video is actually about people's difficulties or lack of willingness to properly communicate what they mean.* I had a very similar debate with an online acquaintance. We both did unpaid TCG card reviews for fun on the same website. He _hated_ the term "playstyle", a term I found useful. After some back and forth, I realized it wasn't actually the word that was the problem, it was people using it to justify their lack of skill and/or poor decisions. As is probably obvious, a "playstyle" or "play style", with respect to really *any* game (not just TCGs) is the sum of your play preferences. In a TCG, it affects not only how you build your deck, but how you play it. My acquaintance got sick of people using it as an excuse/justification for poor decisions in deck building and when playing the game. They wouldn't tolerate people trying to explain _why_ their decisions/deck building were poor. It isn't even like folks were _completely_ using it wrong, either. If a strategy doesn't suit your natural inclinations, even if that strategy is normally more effective it may not serve you well. If you _know_ your skill is below the threshold of what it takes to win a tournament, you may find your playstyle gravitates towards managing more luck-based effects, where as a high skill player may have little or even nothing to gain from whatever RNG is built into the game. *Skill issue is the same.* Yeah, it is frustrating how people use it as an excuse to justify poor game design (or other mechanical issues) within a game. Or who just toss it out as an insult... *...but sometimes it is true.* I don't think I'm all too good a gamer *but* the more I played with my nephews, especially the youngest, the more I realized I took a lot of gaming skills/knowledge for granted. They were amazed I'd play something like New Super Mario Bros. Wii and just "know" where certain secrets were or how to reach them. Said secrets just happened to follow similar patterns/logic to past secrets. It is like how you see a pit in a platformer and you *don't* jump down it even in a game with no fall damage. In fact, your skill in video games, based on experience playing them, tells you that a pit in a platformer is more likely than not bottomless and you'll just die if you fall into it. Granted, it isn't skill that let's me enjoy playing the Virtual Boy. That really seems to be a biology issue; I play it, and assuming I can find a comfortable position, the worst I have to deal with when I'm done and pull my head away is the same feeling I get from walking out of a darkened theater into sunlight. I've defended Mega Man X6 many times before, because overall I think it is a good game. *Flawed* but overall a lot better than people give it credit for being. Little of "the bad" in it were new phenomena. New to Mega Man X? _Maybe,_ but not new to Mega Man as a whole. The areas of poor (or even unfairly cheap) game design? I had a lot of experience with it from NES, Genesis, Game Boy, and SNES titles. Something I think modern reviewers need to accept - *not* like, just accept - is that "How was I supposed to know there'd be spikes there?!" _used_ to be standard game design. As long as games have had some kind of way to save your progress (Save file, passwords, etc.) then *unfortunately* the same holds true for "Oh great, now I have to reset and try again." Though that had to have been a nightmare on original hardware because PS1 load times. I first played X6 via the Mega Man X Anniversary Collection on the GCN and it was bad enough then; re-playing it via Steam ended up being rather enjoyable. I mean, with respect to *both* problems I listed. Plus, since I watched a lot of TH-cam, I found out that some things that were frustrating game design had workarounds. Like an infamous jump that is nearly impossible without the correct Parts/Armor.

    • @ExploDjinn
      @ExploDjinn 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The whole play style thing, makes me think of when people try to accuse someone of playing the game 'wrong', whether it be them missing a key feature, them just being elitist, the player making a conscious choice (definitely have done this a few times), or Gamefreak denouncing nuzlockes and Nintendo patching out arrow farming. Also feel like at some point, I should stream X6 with a fan of the game, ask them to justify it every time I get mad, and see where things go.

I hope TH-cam didn't eat it... *Anyway,* As for the Mega Man X6 stream, that's not a bad idea, but you may be just as well served by looking for video of someone playing who *does* enjoy it. I suspect the real difference is along the lines of "This bad thing in the game doesn't bother me like it bothers you." I strongly suspect that's why I like X6 but have such a love/hate relationship with X5. Like, you'd see me come to one of the blind screw-you-over jumps and not only is it not bothering me because I already know how to make it now that it somewhere around my 12th playthrough of the game (rough estimate), but even the first time I probably was like "Ah, a blind jump in an area where spikes abound. Probably gonna die but here goes." "Probably" because my first playthrough was probably in 2006 or 2007, via the _Mega Man X Collection;_ s'been almost 20 years so I don't truly remember it. ^^' *But how can you stand such nonsense?* Because, I grew up with it being a common occurrence in video games. What would be a "retro" style now was "cutting edge" back then, allowing some games to get by with style over substance. There's also the whole "The internet _technically_ exists, but even video game magazines are a rare thing." era, where you probably were just *stuck* with a bad game if you got one, and it might be one of the few you got that year because (adjusted for inflation) games were around $120 USD a pop, and you - or rather, I - was just some dumb kid without an allowance or effective way to earn money. *It does **_not_** make it "good" game design,* it just means it doesn't bother me as much and/or I have at least an idea of how to _deal_ with it. *Contrast that with what hurt X5 for me.* I _think_ by the time of the _Mega Man X Collection_ even I knew to look up fan made guides on GameFAQs... but how acquiring parts worked in X5 was so Byzantine that I didn't understand it even _with_ guides. In fact, it wasn't until earlier this year, when I *finally* got the _Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2_ that I *finally* understood how acquiring parts works in X5. Not that I was constantly trying to figure it out for the last 20 years. Though I kinda like the Guns 'n Roses naming scheme of the English release *now,* I _loathed it_ back in the day. This was also the first title to *stupidly* force you to collect all armor pieces *before* being able to use them at all... while still locking them behind obstacles that required all but beating the game before you could do so. *Why isn't X6 as bad.* Could be perception. X5 came after X4, my _favorite_ entry in the series. In the present, I've learned to _not_ expect such a sequel to be better, but to be satisfied if it is _almost_ as good, or at least is some kind of "good". X4 I actually played on the Saturn, when it was new, after having played X1 and X2 on the SNES. Skipping X3 made it seem like the X games just kept getting better, or at least, consistently "as good" as each other. X5 and X6 were the sequels I'd skipped because I was already becoming an anti-Sony fanboy at the time, but the _Mega Man X Collection_ let me play them on a Nintendo console so I was pretty excited, even if I recalled them scoring poorly in game magazines. *Bad* reviews of *great* Classic Series Mega Man games, with folks complaining about how they were "just more of the same" desensitized me to such reviews... when *this time* they were spot on. So... yeah, went into X6 with X5 having lowered the bar *substantially.* This helped X6 seem not as bad, if not at least kinda good. While acquiring the parts can still be _too_ difficult in X6, at least it doesn't take a guide to understand the basic concept (just to know which rescuable Reploids have which parts, and how best to reach them). Even with the janky Engrish translation of the game. Even finding out Commander Yammark was a dude. ;) Oh, and time has really helped X6. At least for me. As I keep mentioning, being able to reload a Save to try again - not even a "Save State", just a regular ol' save - isn't the time sink it once was. Also, perspective matters. Not only do I now have X7, X8, and XDive to compare X6 with, I now realize how often Inafune can be *wrong.* One of the things that _really_ seems to bother some fans is that X5 was supposed to end the X series, but X6 was done without Inafune only to basically milk the franchise for more money... *except Inafune was being an idiot in this department.* It was at best _naive_ of him to think Capcom would end the X series, when the Classic Series was still going and - by this time - the Legends Series was as complete as it turns out we were ever getting. Unless you count the demo of Legends 3 for the 3DS. >_< Oh, and Inafune just wasn't the storyteller he thought he was. The storytelling that made the X series _good_ wasn't properly evolving alongside it. X4 got the big revelations and animated cut scenes *alongside* great gameplay to feel like it was... but reverting back to static cut scenes and text, while *once again* introducing a bunch of minor characters who _should_ have been major supporting players... yeah, this has become a big pet peeve of mine. Though I understand if it doesn't bother you (or most others). The whole playing X5, being like "Wait, the Colonel's alive?!" "Wait, he's Sigma?" "Oh, he's just reusing the Colonel's look *and* his name is "Signas" - with an "n" and extra "s" - for _some_ reason. O_o". I even like the additions to the cast, I just wish they were used better *or* not even added at all. *Edit:* Oh, and I should add X4, with its (for the time) impressive attempt at a story _still_ had plenty of less-than-cool moments and instances of bad storytelling. Dunno if the original Japanese script made more sense or not, but the English was often quite confusing. Like when X/Zero first encounters Sigma and we get the flashback to Sigma _barely_ defeating a berserk Zero. Which had to take place before the first X game. Then Sigma, who is supposed to be taunting us that Zero is Wily's final creation, seems surprised by it?! *Or throwing a bunch of new characters at us, only to dispose of them by the end of the game.* Suddenly adding Iris, Colonel, etc. is _more forgivable_ to me because at least you could tell they were going all out for this game *and* it wasn't something they did in the previous title (unless you're a *big* Dr Doppler fan). _Whew!_ That went on longer than even I expected. Kudos to anyone who read this far and if it makes no sense... my bad!

      @@ExploDjinn This is the *repost* of one of two separate replies. It has been 10 hours and the first post hasn't shown up, so I'm assuming TH-cam ate it. >_< Instead of one even larger, messier one where I try to address everything you said in one go (like I did with that first post). If you're not up for it, I understand. Either way, thank you for your time. *Just to clarify,* the "playstyle" example was a situation where the person complaining about the term was _technically_ wrong. People were using it as an excuse, so he hated it, but it wasn't because the term was bad but because people were misusing it (intentionally or not). When you let someone know it is a "skill issue" *and it is,* it is the same situation. When it is used as an excuse for bad gameplay, bad game design, confusing instructions, etc. it becomes a problem. Funny you should mention the concept of "playing the game wrong", as I almost included an example of that. I've got over 180 hours on _Vampire Survivors_ *but* I have only owned it since October 30th. I purchased it for myself, having gotten hooked on it playing with my nephews on their X Box (via Game Pass). A friend, seeing how much I loved it, eventually bought three of the five DLC for me. Yes, again, in the less than two months I've owned it. *How is this relevant?* Guess what game I was playing wrong? Can't remember if you've played _Vampire Survivors_ but if you haven't: you control how your character moves but the character attacks automatically, based on the weapons equipped and (probably) some in game stats. Some (not all) defeated enemies drop crystals that function as Experience Points. Snag them to Level Up and either also level up an equipped weapon *or* a give you a random selection of additional weapons of which you may pick one. *There's more to it,* but that is what matters for me to explain that, when I played, I mostly ran away from enemies looking for light sources I could smash that would _sometimes_ drop power-ups, other times drop Gold that could be spent to unlock more characters or permanent character upgrades. *That doesn't work.* Which is why I wasn't making much progress. Still _mostly_ having fun with it, but I was either oblivious to the deeper strategies, or struggling to deduce how they worked (Weapon Evolution). Fortunately, while chatting with a friend we got to discussing _Vampire Survivors_ and he explained how I needed to *stop* running away so much, and learn how to walk around enemies while my character attacked them. How to more effectively level up and what to pick. Oh, and a link to the Vampire Survivors Fan Wiki so I could look up the stuff he didn't explain. This... _might_ be shorter than the original. Hope I didn't leave out anything important. Wonder if TH-cam will randomly spit out the original now. XD

    My take on skill issue: It only applies to people who call a game bad simply because they can't beat it, not because it's genuinely poorly designed. If you don't like the game because it's difficult, that's fine, it's just not your taste. But if you say high difficulty is a bad design choice that genuinely makes the game bad (nobody directly says this obviously, they just call the game frustrating/unfair, but the point still stands), then that's absolutely a skill issue on your part. Just because you can't keep up with a game's demand for skill, that doesn't make it bad. If you think the game has genuinely unfair aspects to it, then that's a valid criticism. Of course it's a blurry line between plain hard and unfair moments, but most of the time, you should be able to understand when a game just isn't for you and when it's genuinely poorly designed, otherwise I will absolutely call out a skill issue.

      That sort of stuff can be open to interpretation. I can beat Mega Man Zero just fine, but I won't try to justify how that game's structured, whereas others might claim that the cyber elves and lives systems are there for intentional challenge. And even if something was a matter of skill, I'd still try to think of a more constructive way to put it.

      @ Nah with something like MMZ it's understandable, even if MMZ isn't the hardest one out there. I think a better example is something like Megaman and Bass (the sfc version of course), while the game has its fair share of off-screen shenanigans, it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, as it's still one of the more competent Megaman games (It's my personal favorite for the classic series too) and the things people complain about the most are the more readable parts if anything (at least from my experience). There is also something important to note that I think you should've mentioned in your video, it's that sometimes, someone can complain about a game mechanic being frustrating even if they can beat the game in question. MMZ1 is actually a good example for this, the lives system doesn't necessarily make the game harder if anything, it just makes the experience more TEDIOUS, and, well, less fun. Frustration doesn't come merely from demand for skill, that's something I feel like a lot of people fail to point out. Heck, I'd argue the off-screen garbage found in some of MMZ1's levels is more egregious than the lives system if we're talking purely about difficulty of execution.

    Heh, when I should be hurrying and getting ready to work *but* ExploDjinn finally drops Round 4 comparing Classic to Battle Network designs! For the new, I've been watching the video and typing up my own takes, but that means catching folks up on what they may have missed from the previous videos/comments. And yes, this part is just a copy/paste from the previous video's equivalent comment: even I gotta work some days. *Anyway:* 1) Unless otherwise stated, I either agree with ExploDjinn, or don't significantly differ. 2) I'm focusing more on aesthetic, personality, and theme than gameplay. 3) Robot Masters are gonna look similar, given both story and hardware limitations, so I won't hold that against them. 4) NetNavis, on the other hand, *don't* have much of a reason to look similar to each other... or to be physically plausible. 5) Ties *are* allowed. 6) So are "Not Applicable" (N/A) results for when there's no counterpart. 7) I absolutely flipflop on these, and often. 8) "Classic" will usually be used to denote the RM; ".EXE" at the end will usually be included if we're talking about the Navi. 9) There's a lot of room for "personal interpretation". *That last one needs some explaining.* Take Quick Man; most see an agile assassin, but sometimes I see him as a sugared up toddler. Like when he just runs into the corner of the room and... keeps running in place there. ;) I also freely admit to being influenced by non-canon takes on characters, memes, etc. I mean, with this batch in particular, I noticed ExploDjinn treating a lot of Navis as if they were actual, physical entities. Which may be relevant to the later Battle Network games (never played 4 thru 6), but I wouldn't know. *I'll save the running tally for the end, so let's begin!* *Bright Man Vs BrightMan.EXE* If I wasn't already in more or less total agreement with ExploDjinn, let me add that green is my favorite color *and* I'm a fan of Jet Set Radio... or Jet Grind Radio as it was originally called in North America due to naming-rights-issues. Also, I am a NumberMan.EXE fan... and NumberMan.EXE was thought to have been inspired by Classic Bright Man. We didn't get BrightMan.EXE until a little ways into the Battle Network series. BrightMan.EXE easily takes it. *Toad Man Vs ToadMan.EXE* Though I still agree with _nearly_ everything ExploDjinn said... in the end i just like Classic Toad Man's appearance better. Maybe it is because of the "lovable loser" shtick he's presented as in various fan works (including _Bob & George_ ), or the cute little dance he does to use his attack. Which you can interrupt by shotting him with buster shot (regular or charged) so the fight is super easy. Both characters are a little aquatic to be thought of as "toads" rather than "frogs"... but a quick web search suggests there may not actually be a hard and fast distinction between the two. Whether there is or not, though, I'm going with Classic Toad Man. *Drill Man Vs DrillMan.EXE* Again, I cannot argue with _most_ of ExploDjinn's critique, but I need to explain something _personal._ As a kid, I owned the _Gobot_ Screw Head, or "Drill Robo" if you're more partial to _Machine Robo._ Anyway, while not my favorite kind of vehicle, ever since I was little I thought drill tanks were cool. _Neither_ of these guys turn into a drill tank, but one of them transforms into a giant drill and I think that's so silly, so over-the-top that it goes past being dorky to being fun, if not "cool". So DrillMan.EXE wins this one. *Pharaoh Man vs PharoahMan.EXE* Remember how I said DrillMan.EXE took what was a silly concept and took it so far it became cool? That does *not* apply to PharoahMan.EXE. Basically, all the Navi has going for him in this matchup is being _different._ That might be worth some bonus points, but I *don't* need an explanation for why a Robot Master's weapon arm looks like the Mega Buster; I just assume that busters are like guns; especially to the untrained eye, most pistols look like each other, most shotguns look like each other, most rifles look like each other... etc. With that real world example being pertinent since I could easily mistake a single-barreled shotgun for a rifle due to my ignorance about the finer points of distinction between the two. Throw in the Pharoah Man meme from the old Ruby Spears cartoon, and Pharaoh Man easily conquers this round. *Ring Man Vs Ring.EXE* Again, take what ExploDjinn says about the two and apply it to me... who doesn't hate Quick Man, but isn't a fanboy for him. Though this might be expert level "You can copy my homework but don't make it obvious." with how Classic Ring Man looks (and fights). My love of _Mega Man Battle Network Battle Chip Challenge_ skews things even more in Ring's favor. Even though I never realized Ring was a female Navi. Pretty sure I didn't pick Mary/Ring.EXE as my characters for either of my two Story Mode save slots in that game, so I never saw (or just forgot) any scenes where Ring was clearly addressed as being female. *Oops.* Ring.EXE totally wins this _not_ because I feel stupid for missing that Ring.EXE was a "she". >.> *Dust Man Vs DustMan.EXE* This is the first time I've ever seen DustMan.EXE. _I think._ Neither of these guys look great to be, but neither do they look "bad". My biggest issue is that neither screams "Dust Man" to me. Like, Junk Man _looks_ like "junk", but Dust Man looks like HVAC Man, while DustMan.EXE looks more like IncineratorMan.EXE. Or something like that. Maybe in the future, I'll know if I prefer one over the other, but for now.... ...it's a tie. *Dive Man VS DiveMan.EXE* Broken record, but I agree with ExploDjinn. Meaning Dive Man takes it. *SkullMan Vs SkullMan.EXE* What's funny is, I took my Mega Man 3 comparison post and copy/pasted it. This was Shadow Man Vs ShadowMan.EXE's entry and... *it works for Skull Man Vs SkullMan.EXE!* It is a tie, for all the reasons stated in the video. *Except* it wasn't even close to a tie in the video... but I've seen some decent fan art of Classic Skull Man that _really_ helps. Even official art tends to make him look cooler than his in-game sprite. Still repeating my thing with Shadow Man vs ShadowMan.EXE I'll add that I would _love_ to blend the two designs together. S'like Skull Man isn't skeleton-y enough, but SkullMan.EXE might take it a bit too far? Again, it's a tie! *Dr. Mikhail Sergeyevich Cossack Vs Dr. Cossack* No, I did _not_ know Classic Series Dr. Cossack's full name. I only discovered it just now, referencing the Mega Man Knowledge Base fan wiki. It looks like Battle Network Dr. Cossack isn't known by anything else, so that's a decent way to distinguish them. Well, not really, that is a _long_ full name and not the easiest to pronounce for this American English speaker/reader. Plus, the name is the main thing that version of Dr. Cossack has going for him. As the video shows, Battle Network Dr. Cossack has his own look, and what did I say my favorite color was? Battle Network Dr. Cossack wins this round! *For this round,* the scores are *Classic:* 3 *Battle Network:* 4 *Ties:* 2 *Not Applicable:* 0 The *running totals* are: *Classic:* 12 *Battle Network:* 15 *Ties:* 9 *N/A:* 3 At least if I've counted correctly. Kind of in a hurry, if I wasn't clear earlier. I will add, that if I forced myself to break the two ties I had, I'd have probably gone with Classic Dust Man but Battle Network's SkullMan.EXE... so it'd just be 13/16 in Battle Network's favor. Which ignores all the _other_ ties I didn't force myself to break. Either way, I'm a bit surprised at how well the Classic Series has been doing. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me, but when this began, I thought I would more heavily favor Battle Network. *Edit:* Ironically, I didn't need to go into work after all so I _could_ have taken more time but... like what I did do wasn't overkill anyway. XD

    What if Dr. Cossack simply made Skull Man as a cry for help and to connect him to Wily? I wouldn't be surprised if Skullman.EXE was ahold over from the bizarre original concept of Lan being a necromancer/medium and Megaman being a demon. Kalinka was also planned to be in Battle Network 3 but got cut. There's concept art of her and some of them are really cute, so we missed out.

    • @ExploDjinn

      Skull Man being a hint isn't a bad theory. Did not hear about the necromancer thing, and maybe I'll look into the Kalinka art and use her in a bonus round, if it isn't too hard to find. Here I was thinking of maybe using Mary, Ring's netop.

    @KamisamanoOtaku 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    @13:30 Well, at least every Robot Master from Mega Man 4 isn't cribbing from a Mega Man 2 Robot Master... *or are they?* Air Man => Dust Man *Reason:* A stretch, but fans can blow dust *and* both RMs are like small appliances given life (fan versus vacuum). Bubble Man => Toad Man *Reason:* Both are green, aquatic themed, kind-of-joke enemies that move funny on land. Crash Man => Drill Man *Reason:* Both are orange, drill-handed dudes firing exploding drill bombs. Flash Man => Bright Man *Reason:* Both stop time, though at least they look extremely different. Heat Man => Pharoah man *Reason:* Both are mostly yellow colored with chargeable fire/heat projectiles! Metal Man => Dive Man *Reason:* Both have ACTUAL weapons. Yeah, this one doesn't really work unless you turn your head and squint. Quick Man => Ring Man *Reason:* Fast guys with similar looks and boomerang weapons. Wood Man => Skull Man *Reason:* Things that shouldn't be used to build a robot; wood versus bone. Oh, and both use barriers. Skull Man looks kewl, at least. ;) I'm betting some were intentional, a few were accidental, and... well the stretches just _weren't_ but it isn't impossible that this is the "You can copy my homework but just don't make it obvious." situation. One lazy copy/paste (Crash/Drill), a few more innovative ones, and then two that were actually original. Because smart cheaters know to stop at 75% copying. ;) Also, now my head canon is Dr. Cossack really did copy from Wily both because of time/resource demands and thinking "Eh, maybe if they're familiar Mega Man will win and maybe even save the world alongside my daughter!"

    • @ExploDjinn
      @ExploDjinn 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Some of them might be a bit of a stretch, but I was still kind of surprised by how many connections I could draw here, though I went with Toad and Snake. 4 through 6 do seem to be their own trilogy, not just because of numbering but also due to the charge shot and second fortress fake out, so them starting things out by repurposing their greatest hits doesn't seem all that farfetched overall. And, lore wise, maybe Wily did have some suggestions, since Cossack wasn't exactly world domination focused.

    Repliforce's general incompetence prior to X4 as stated in the manual. putting a failed Reploid experiment in a position of power when he literally cant make certain critical decisions because that part of him was given to his sister Iris and General hiring a known maverick like Frost Walrus was already telling of how much of a joke the Repliforce was behind the scenes. As for the Maverick Hunter's response to the whole thing, I never understood why some fans give them grief for it when they handled the situation fine. They get word the Sky Lagoon is under attack by Repliforce, X or Zero (or both?) arrive on the scene and find it under attack by Mechanaloids used by Repliforce. They dont know about Double or Magma Dragoon at this point and while it could be possible someone else simply stole the mechanaloids at this moment they have no evidence of that and thousands if not tens of thousands of innocent humans and reploids dead. They absolutely needed to bring someone in for questioning to get to the bottom of this attack. Suddenly a high ranking member of Repliforce (who is currently the only suspect of the attack) shows up, X/Zero make the completely reasonable request for Colonel to stand down and come in for questioning (such a thing is more than within their rights given the the current situation) Colonel who cant act out of anything but pride in such a situation due to his incompetent design as a reploid basically tells them to pound sand and leaves. This is a very bad look for Repliforce at this moment, made worse by General immediately declaring a coup against the humans and sending two of his generals to commit war crimes against human population centres right after he broadcast this was not about rebelling against their human creators. Oh and their reploid "utopia" being a giant kill satellite aimed right at earth. I'm a litte curious how some fans could think the Maverick Hunters handled the X4 situation wrong? Even taking into account Sigma being behind everything Repliforce's actions were still their own and they handled this in the worse possible way and basically made them selves guilty of the crimes they were being suspected of. I'm not really gonna blame the Maverick Hunters for Double or Magma Dragoon, since there was literally no way for them to know Double was a Sigma mole or Dragoon was harbouring hidden desires to fight X and Zero. Neither acted in a way that made them obvious traitors.

    My ranking would go like: 1. Rockman X/X4. I play both at least twice a year, these are fantastic games and they both share the first place. 3. Rockman X2. Great follow-up. 4. Rockman X8. An overall solid game. The intro song is a bop, it has my favorite final boss in the series. But the game is bogged down by gimmicky levels and farming. 5. Rockman X5. Some levels are good, Volt Kraken is a great boss, the soundtrack is... *Chef's kiss* . Dynamo and Awakened Zero's themes are my two favorite songs in the X series. It's such a shame the production value took a nosedive compared to X4. Too much backtracking, some levels are really... not great. The part system wasn't clear, some bosses felt like I was fighting JPEG images. And worst of all, the random nature of the Enigma cannon and the space shuttle affecting the ending you get was a baffling decision. 6. Rockman X3. I do not like this game at all. You take so much damage it's insane, bosses suck. Their patterns are a joke and their i-frames are way too long, making the fights drag on. It has one of the worst upgraded charged shots in the series. Why is Sigma's weak spot so small? And this game has by far my least favorite soundtrack of all X games, counting the spinoffs. Dear Lord, I'd take a forgettable ost over this! Maybe that's why I prefer the PS1 version ost. 7. Rockman X6. Had potential, game sucks, only redeeming quality is the superb ost. It has to be tied to X1 as my favorite soundtrack. 8. Rockman X7. I made the mistake of playing this already bad game on PC. No, I don't mean the X Legacy Collection 2 on PC. I mean the old Korean PC port. It's not compatible with any controller, so I had to use a third party software to emulate a keyboard with my PS2 controller. The confirm button changes depending on the menu, there is no way to change forms without opening the pause menu, and there were a few graphical bugs. Don't play this version, kids.

Megaman zx is a better game for beginners and average players even in normal difficulty. For instance you get a life upgrade which upgrades your lifebar before you get model hx and in the stage where you get model hx you get your first sub tank after that you can use model hx to get your second sub tank in an area you could not get before you can do the next two bosses in any order. so you have a lot of freedom in Megaman Zx . Aside from the Celestial Brush being a bit more touchy than usual, the controls are mostly fine on Wii Remote and Nunchuck... riiiight up until you realize that the basic attacks are mapped to a Wii Remote swing, bit still wants you to do it with the input timing of pressing a button, and enemies in later areas become frustrating with any weapon besides beads, and despite the original release of the game being made for a PS2 controller, the Wii version has no option to use the GameCube or Classic Controller, which is baffling because almost every other Capcom PS2/GC port on Wii has a fulls suite of control options. It didn't have the same hype as 3 and also the music was not nearly as good. For me, and probably most other people, the music in a game is super important. Most of the games that are considered the best of all time have great soundtracks. Take Chrono trigger for example. Mega man 2 and 3 are by far the greatest soundtracks in the series. 9:40 I disagree, the file select screen alone is practically begging to be 100%ed. On top of each game, which includes Milkyway Wishes, keeping track of your total progress, I say this game was made for completion. 11:40 sooooo, 9/11 gaming? 13:30 Meta Knight will actually fight you if you wait for long enough, so you don't have to give up your ability Anyway bro, I really like your stuff, and you definitely deserve more, but you gotta up your game. The thumbnail is not attractive at all, though I'm no thumbnail artist and can't tell you how to improve it, but if you want more views, that's the place to start. Also, as much as I love Kirby Super Star, this game has been reviewed to death, so I don't think too many people would be interested in watching the 1000th review of the next 1K sub TH-camr, so maybe go for something more unique is my suggestion. I'm not saying this out of hate, I genuinely wanna see you grow, because, well, I like your content.

      I'll try waiting Meta Knight out next time. And I might have said this before, but it really comes down to what I can throw together by the end of the week. Been a bit busy and this was easy to assemble. Next week should be a bit more general, though, assuming I don't run into any hiccups. I do appreciate the suggestions.
