Just wanted to say your explanation was on point. As someone who’s gotten pretty creative in the past to avoid accidents I admire trying to hook a wheel in the ditch. Sad it didn’t work but the fact that you tried it tells me your brain moves at a million mph, you literally thought this scenario through many times or both. Lol Glad you’re okay. That’s a one:

Just finished watching your cougar video, and I loved it! Anyways, what scared me about this ordeal was the fact that even on the station they were reporting the crash on, 1240 AM, there was no talk of him almost falling off the mountain, and surviving because of the cage! They described it as if he merely overshot cog cut or a similar corner! And yet up on Devil's playground we saw a flight for life helicopter fly towards the peak! I really wish they told us more, also let us have a real parade of champions again!
The stupid new insurance company has ruined a lot of what made pikes peak fun! The parade was ruined cause we couldn't high-five the drivers and the spots to sit were patrolled by cops the whole day.
Gutted when I heard Old Smokey was no more, a properly cool and inspiring build. I am so glad you could climb out unharmed Scott, a true testament to not scrimping when it comes to all the safety gear. 😢🏁💪
It's a shame to see such a legendary truck go down, but I'm so incredibly happy that the safety gear did its job and you were able to go home to your family.

MAN O MAN!! So glad that roll cage did its job!! Was really worried when there was no movement at first and glad to see you get out on your own!
Glad your alright epic work on the cage, I have to ask when does it come to gt7 I saw the window vinyl...
Glad you made it out on your own and survived that crash, fantastic roll cage, was there at the picnic area, seen your truck come back down on the rollback, better luck next year Scott, Thanks for the video .😢
That "I'm ok"... thank God safety was taken seriously. Sorry about your baby but we're glad you're alright!
Hats off to the gentleman that invented rollcages.
Hi Mike how are you doing 😊
Looking forward to seeing this in the pikes peak museum! Absolutely legendary!!
Is the truck savable to repair or just a salvage parts for your new builds
Great build. Thanks for sharing. Glad you’re okay!
Glad you live to tell. Awesome work on that cage!
Good job to everyone pushing the safety on this impressive rig. Everything you all did, worked. Stoked the outcome is what it is, driver, drive another day. ❤
Glad you made it out in on piece brotha! Stay safe
My condolences to old smoky. Glad to hear you made it unscathed.
Hi David how are you doing 😊
@@helenarusso I’m well Helen, Thanks for asking. How are you?
So good to see you are ok and the safety of that build worked. Other than the roll itself im amazed the motor was still running! and you had to actually shut it off. RIP Old Smokey. I was watching the live footage when they said the track was red flagged and that you went off but you were ok.
So happy that you were able to walk away with no injuries!
But not shocking about how many professional drivers came here to talk about how they wouldn't have crashed. Im gonna take the word of the guy who built and raced a pikes peak truck over the guys who can't even read a youtube video description
*Bloody snow falls from helmet* "I'm ok!"
