    my hair is curly (2c-3a), not wavy, so i'm not 100 percent sure this would work for you, but i have been doing the curly girl method for years now, and i know it's important for me to scrunch my hair again when it's a bit dryer if i want my curls to be tight. i don't plop (as i find that when i plop i don't get a gel cast, which also contributes to my curl tightness), but i always scrunch my hair one last time about 15 minutes into air-drying. my suggestion for you would be to try to reduce the plopping time to maybe 10 minutes so that's it's still a bit wetter then, and then give it a good last scrunch. you already have beautiful hair nevertheless, and welcome to the textured hair community :)

    • @parevi1269
      @parevi1269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      You should wash your hair as often as you feel like. You can wash them everyday if you feel like you should. The best thing to do is to have a container, jar or something, put some shampoo in it, add water and shake it till it bubble. Wash just scalp, then the rest of it will eventually get into rest of your hair. As conditioner you should look for emollient conditioner (oils, waxes, silicones, mineral oils, lanolin). This will protect your hair from moisture loss etc.. Just watch your hair, how they react. Note: if your hair are damaged look for glycerine, aloe, honey, sugar, urea (basically humectants) and proteins (keratin, milk, silk, wheat, collagen, elastin).

    • @ES-sv1gu
      @ES-sv1gu ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@melissawaggoner7509 It actually is - have you ever looked how much work people with super curly hair have to put into their curls? You cannot really treat wavy/curly hair the same way as straight hair and expect it to look nice. This method with scrunching etc is also used by people with extreme curls. Also hair is not just straight or curly, it‘s a whole spectrum with a lot inbetween. „Real“ straight hair (1a) is pin-straight without the need for any effort like heat. However there are many people with „straight“ hair that will complain that their hair is frizzy/bushy and gets a lot of volume and is wavy or out of control as soon as it‘s raining for example - these are the poeple that actually do have soft waves (1c, 2a, 2b). If you google „wavy/curly girl method“ you will find tons of people sharing the stories of finding very late out that their hair is actually wavy/curly - it‘s quite a big thing actually. Also it‘s a process - if someone straightened the hair for 20 years, the hair will need time to go back to the wavy/curly pattern, so usually the waves/curls improve a lot within 6-12 months.

    • @melissawaggoner7509
      @melissawaggoner7509 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ES-sv1gu ok well I just mean don’t do all that work? If you really wanted to be natural then just leave it alone and then that’s the hair you have. Doing all that stuff is still styling it so it really doesn’t matter. If you just wash and condition it then that’s the hair you have. Whatever it looks like. Anything else after is styling.
