I have similar hair, only that it looks completely straight when it's one length and wavy when it's cut in layers. I wash my hair every day because I have a super oily scalp. It looks lovely at the moment because I shaved my head and it's growing out naturally. Some lovely waves. I still wish I had my mum's tight curls.

No worries! I spray it thoroughly all over my hair including the top, until it’s damp but not wet, don’t be afraid of the water, and then scrunch the products in and smooth the oil. I use very little product tho
I have a similar hair type! And I agree some days my hair is wavier and sometimes it’s not as wavy. I also like having a more minimal routine or my hair will feel weighed down and gunky! The length of your hair is beautiful and it looks so healthy!
Your hair is absolutely beautiful but as a fellow wavy girl, I wanted to share some advice. Brushing when wet can be super damaging for our hair type. For curly/coily girls, it's actually better for them that way, but for straight/wavy girls, the hair is less prone to breakage if it's brushed when dry. I, personally, like to detangle right before I wash my hair because it helps to detangle and the frizziness is just temporary.
Totally depends on the person. My hair gets super tangled after washing so it needs to be brushed right after washing, and my hair broke and fell out way more when I brushed it dry compared to when I brushed it wet.
I used to have super tangly hair too! Deep conditioning helped a ton, but I think a leave-in conditioner was the big game changer for me. I put it on when my hair is soaking wet and scrunch it in for distribution before combing/brushing/finger detangling. You could also try putting your hair up in a “pineapple” when you sleep to minimize tangles too.
yes! i love that you are actually someone who actually has wavy hair and not curly hair. i’m the same as well! the back of my hair is straight and then the sides and front are wavy. i use coconut oil as well. i do shampoo and conditioner and then a leave in conditioner, then i use the not your mothers curl cream and the frizz control gel. i scrunch with a microfiber towel :)
I agree with you on hair looking best on washed days!! Everybody says their hair looks best on day 2 or later but mine always looks best on washed days, so I wash my hair everyday... bad routine but oh well.
I washed my hair everyday because it tends to get greasy the next day, especially the hairline. I get dandruff too when I don't shampoo. It's a bad habit to wash everyday but I am not sure what to do with this scalp of mine lol
@@elirei_ Good news: It’s not bad to wash your hair everyday. I wash my hair everyday for the same reason and I used to stress over that until I found this video “THE WORST SKIN CARE ADVICE ON THE INTERNET| Dr Dray” th-cam.com/video/hF0MLSNnQtA/w-d-xo.html (that part starts min 9:29) now I can happily wash my hair everyday. Also something I’ve found helps with greasy hair (I know it sounds illogical but bear with me) is doing grape seed oil hair masks.
i’ve been starting to sleep with a silk cap. a silk pillow case will do the same but when i don’t use my cap, my hair is more frizzy and you can tell the products i put in it faded. whereas when i sleep with it, my hair looks extra hydrated because no products escaped & there’s less frizz and it just looks really healthy!
Thank you for this wavy tutorial (: I dislike watching routines that use like 5+ products that is either way too expensive or just not realistic for people to do. Your hair is so pretty!
Great video! Do recommend trying plopping your hair insted of putting it in a bun, since it can really help retain the natural curl shape(especially for long hair). Been loving the relaxed format, keep up the good work!😊
I'd scrunch in the morning too! That really helps my hair be wavy. For sleeping on it I sleep with it in one of those hair bonnet things, mostly cause it would drive me nuts otherwise but I do think it helps.
So I came here after watching Jessica Braun’s video that she mentions you in. I’m so glad, because your channel seems like just the type I enjoy. Can you share what mascara you used? Your lashes look incredible.
My hair is very similar to yours. I just started trying to take better care of it. But I do still suffer with frizz. I stopped rubbing my hair on the towel like I used to and I've been using masks and leave-in. But my locks still become frizzy after my hair is dry.. it's so annoying. I finally realized that living in the tropics won't help. It's humid all year. I'm still gonna try using the mousse to see if it helps. You look gorgeous btw
i have the almost exact hair as you :) i stopped using mousse because of the weird thing the straighter pieces do. i only use a little bit of curl cream, then micro plop and let it airdry until it’s almost dry. then i put it in a braid until i have to leave the house! i love how the result looks it’s really soft waves :)
A good volumizing drug store shampoo and conditioner i use is love beauty and planet volume bounty. Its coconut oil and it smells so good and it gives me so much volume to my wavy curly hair. Really recommend, they are a good price too!
You could try using a dressing gown tie and wrapping your hair around it when it's damp. You sleep on it overnight and it's perfect curls/waves. Because it's "wet set" vs using heat - they'll stay in :)
You mentioned that the mousse doesn't make your hair crunchy. A product giving your hair a "cast" is actually a good thing and is what will help your waves last past wash day. The cast can be broken by scrunching your hair when it is fully dry. You might try two things: (1) making sure to get some of that mousse at your roots to help with volume and (2) using a gel over the mousse to give your waves more hold, definition, and shine.
I have 2a wavy hair and actually made the experience, that "casting" products weight my thin hair down and make it look like spaghetti. So I also prefer light mousse that does not form a cast.
I am just exploring but I concur. My hair is 2a with maybe a patch of 2b and it gets weighed down easy. The cast jeeps the shape longer but then my hair feels awful and it looks worse by end of day. If I don't have a cast the pattern is far looser but it looks good longer. Those of us with very loose patterns look best when we embrace the looseness.
Okay, so first i really like this video because it is just kind of messy/normal which is for me near the reality, but i actually just wanna drop a sleep hair style. My hair is pretty much like yours, so maby it will work: You have to look into what direction you waves go and then twist your hair in this direction and put it up in a high kind of bun. This helps me to protect and define my waves and it also gives a bit of volume because you have your hair up. Hope it helps 😊👍
When i use coconut oil, i use it like a mask (?), sort of. I first wash with shampoo, then i use the coconut oil (mixed or not with a mask) and leave it on for a while. Then I co-wash with a very light mask (like using cleansing oil to remove make up), making sure to remove all the oil, and then put conditioner. My hair is wavy and when i do this, the curls gets much more defined.
I have super curly hair, and if you're having problems getting your hair to dry in a timely manner, you should try a hair dryer with a diffuser attatchment. If I were to use a regular hair dryer on my hair it would be a frizzy disaster, but with a diffuser on the end I'm able to get my hair dry without breaking up the curls. I usually let it set for about 45 min after putting in my hair product before drying it :)
Thank you the only video about that kind of hair Yes some people have straight , weavy and curly hair like mee Tips :use curly hair champoo for the end of your hair it realy help to have beautiful curls
Good tip! :) The curly girl method has helped me so much, & I have similar hair to her. :) Although, most of her products/techniques are curly girl approved anyway except I think the soul food mask & the hair fragrance, which it seems like she only uses every once in a while anyway, so, not a huge deal, since she takes such good care of her hair and has a pretty well rounded routine. ❤️❤️
Hey Sarah, first time watching your videos. You are really pretty. I have relatively wavy asian black hair. Mix of 1c & 2a hair type. So its straight on the top & it gets wavy at the bottom. I use a light weight hair oil instead of mouse. Because my hair tangles & is naturally dry. I sleep with silk pillow cases & I don't refresh or re-wet my hair the next day. For my case it looks better, or if its gets dry from air conditioner I'd use alittle more of the hair oil.
Hey bae! Just letting you know ur hair is just an absolute beauty! Coming from a fellow 2a/2b girl, ur routine is pretty good! A few tips are to use a curl defining brush, i heard it helps pretty well and as for enhancing ur straight/wavy curls, this should do the trick! The best one I know is the denman brush, but u can use a regular wet brush or paddle brush too. Make sure to brush upwards for a little extra volume. As for you losing ur volume just 2-3 days after washing, the best way for volume is a diffuser. You can do your method for reviving ur waves every day but i would suggest to squeeze in this little step. Just place ur hair on the diffuser and move it closer to ur roots! Any diffuser would work too:) Hope this helps💕 Edit: btw im no proffessional lol but here's just a few tips that has worked for me and my hair:)
i used to get the same bushy ends and tangles! but i started working the tiniest bit of coconut oil into my ends when it's freshly washed and wet -- literally smaller than a fingernail sized amount and spread it all over your palms before using praying hands on your ends-- and it makes them so shiny & soft until i wash again.
My hair is just like yours! Not pin straight, not curly like those who have those beautiful curls. My hair is long but the hair on top of my head is flat while the bottom is thickish, and my hair CONSTANTLY get tangled. I'm definitely gonna try to buy the products you have because I'm struggling on trying to find products that won't strip my hair down 😭 thanks for the video!!
That sounds like my hair!!! It’s frizzy and flat at the same time 😭 It’s thick and long and always getting tangled. Did you ever find out what helps your hair?
I use Maui moisture it’s a drug store shampoo and conditioner it really helps calm down my wavy frizzy hair you might like it specifically the one that’s for curls
Definitely if you have hair that tangles look for a SPRAY leave in conditioner to add before your mousse!!! Cream leave ins tend to be too heavy for us wavy haired gals and its better to always stick to brushing your hair in the shower with your conditioner and then scrunch after or else you risk elongating your waves and discouraging their formation.
Hey some quick tips for ya from one curly girls to another but to help with waves and getting definition is to use ur styling products on soaking wet hair and gel is way better then mouse for me. And the other one for the frizz and tangle overnight is to try a pineapple it works so well. Hope these help
I had straight hair since I was a kid...like literally straight..but then as I turned 16-17 I noticed that it's getting a little curly but then I realised it's not really curly but wavy and I didn't know how to deal with them.. I spent a lot of time thinking that it could be straight again... everybody in my family mostly has curly hair..so I figured may be it's genetics or something..now I am finally figuring out a way to deal with them 🙌😊
Beautiful hair!! Definitely get yourself a microfiber towel. And you should try drying your hair with a diffuser on a blow dryer! You can flip upside down and diffuse to get volume at the roots, and using the diffuser on the lengths will give you bouncier waves. And it’s still gentle on your hair if you don’t go above like a medium heat setting.
Your hair is so beautiful😍 I recently got into haircare and now I'm just looking for ways to have less frizzy and more defined waves. I'll have a look for some of the products you use :)
I have wavy hair but I never brush when wet because that can stretch and break the hair. So I just brush when it's dry because I'm growing it long and don't want breakage. Plus I just like the feel of brushed hair I hated leaving it unbrushed.
Your hair looks so long and healthy !😩 just a little tip if you want your hair to be define I suggest “Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Defining Cream,” I love how light weight is it😊.
Yes to this! I love the whole Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk line. It is perfect for my thinner and wavy hair (thanks to my kid lol, had straight hair for 29 years😂). I’m still learning too!
Im so glad I found this video! All of the things you were saying about your hair, happen to mine too. I don’t know if you’ve already tried it or not, but I’d recommend a Kristen ess shampoo. It’s not quite drugstore, but it’s 20 for a liter of product at ulta if there’s one by you and they have a website.
Hello! I have a couple of tips that may help you. ☺️ 🌸 When using (coconut)oil, you can try to heat it a little bit in a glass bowl and then use a dropper to apply it directly on your scalp. 🌸 Don't apply too much oil on your scalp. Just enough that it's able to soak in. Your hair should not be much greasier after using an oil than it usually is before washing. This way you can wash the oil more easily from your hair because your scalp will mostly kind of absorb it and there will be just a small amount of oil left for you to wash out. 🌸 Silk or satin pillowcase or a cap should works well to avoid tangles. Also keeping your hair in a braid or bun (as you mentioned) is great. 🌸 Maybe try to use some leave in conditioner for better brushing and for less tangles. 🌸 I personally also recommend some silicon free hydration masks on regular basis because wavy/curly hair tends to be more dry and hydration masks could help with tangles as well. 🤗🤗
Please guide me. I have wavy hair 2b type..My hair tangles a lot and doesn't have any volume. And i get so many fly ways. I don't want defined waves. I just pre poo, shampoo, conditioner and diy deep conditioning.
@@pratimamittal3899 Hello! 👋🏻 I have a straight hair so I don't have much experiences with wavy hair. But for me works very well to use shampoo and conditioner without silicones, sulfates and parabens. I always shampoo twice, then I apply a mask (now usually twice in a month) and finish with conditioner. After washing my hair I let it air dry and apply leave in conditioner on the length of my damp hair and lock moisture in with a few drops of oil.💦 I think fly aways are caused by lack of hydration. So I recommend try some hydration mask and see how it will works. You can use a little bit of oil to tame them as well. But remember that some amount of fly aways is normal and it could also depend on the weather season (in winter it is usually worse). Also try some protective hairstyles (braids, buns...) Some people have good results when sleeping on silk/satin pillowcase. I hope my answer will help you in some way. You have to try something and see how it works because everyone's hair is different. Just be patient, maybe keep tracking your wash days and products you use and the results you get. I am sure you will figure it out! ☺️☺️
A tip: detangle your hair just before hopping in the shower because then you'll get detangled hair after washing and you wouldn't have to brush it wet as wet hair is a lot more fragile and brushing it makes it weak and leads to breakage. It's tried and tested ✌.
If you want help with hair frizz, i would suggest using a diluted version of the shampoo as the sulphate is what dries out the hair. So dilute it in a mug and wash your hair with that, massage it a bit and wash off. You should also use a wooden comb. For sleeping style, use a linen-cotton shirt, put it over your pillow, tie your hair high up, but make sure it quite loose and let the length of the hair away from yoir head. Helped me. My hair is a lot like yours.
My dear thank you so so much, this is exactly what i was looking for, because all i found was mostly curly and my hair is wavy, thank you for your effort you look amazing and beautiful ❤️

@@hopegleich740 okay thank you ❤️. I have wavy and frizzy hair when i wash and turn straight after 2 days. I’ll try this method. I have also been trying reverse shampooing. It’s giving good results so far.
Please, can i ask you? Do you just spray it all over your hair, or just ends? And then you scrunch it or just leave it as it is without touching? Sorry for any english mistakes tho
My hair gets super tangled after washing so it needs to be brushed right after washing, and my hair broke and fell out way more when I brushed it dry compared to when I brushed it wet.
lovvve this one 🤍
and a tip that makes wonders on my straight/wavy hair, its the squish-to-condish method
I have your exact hair type and I’m so glad I found this vid! It’s been hard finding somebody w this type of hair
I agree with you on hair looking best on washed days!! Everybody says their hair looks best on day 2 or later but mine always looks best on washed days, so I wash my hair everyday... bad routine but oh well.
It’s not bad routine. It’s nowhere proven as well. I know many who wash their hair daily n have beautiful hair. Especially the ones with wavy Hair.
I washed my hair everyday because it tends to get greasy the next day, especially the hairline. I get dandruff too when I don't shampoo. It's a bad habit to wash everyday but I am not sure what to do with this scalp of mine lol
@@elirei_ SAME to all of that oh my goodness

Just binged your old vids - YOUR SHORT WAVY HAIR IS A LOOK!!!!
Tbh I'm thinking about it...
Great video! Do recommend trying plopping your hair insted of putting it in a bun, since it can really help retain the natural curl shape(especially for long hair). Been loving the relaxed format, keep up the good work!😊
You totally shared all of the hair products your using but im dying to know what kind of lippie you're using. It looks so pretty on you!
youre so pretty. just glowy and beautiful even with coconut oil in your hair. wtf
I'd scrunch in the morning too! That really helps my hair be wavy. For sleeping on it I sleep with it in one of those hair bonnet things, mostly cause it would drive me nuts otherwise but I do think it helps.
I have super curly hair but that doesn’t stop me from watching a wavy hair routine 😂
So I came here after watching Jessica Braun’s video that she mentions you in. I’m so glad, because your channel seems like just the type I enjoy. Can you share what mascara you used? Your lashes look incredible.
Thank you so much! I used the Essence Lash Princess Mascara here :)
Oooh thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to try that one!
You are the prettiest! Also, so happy that you are getting recognition with sponsors:) i love your videos xx.
Most simple routine I’ve seen for wavy hair. Thanks!
I have pin-straight thick hair that refuses to stay curled after a few hours. Wavy hair like yours is what I admire ❤
The pink sweater looks so cute on you!
The Maui moisture weightless shampoo and conditioner are really good for volume without being drying!
Thank you the only video about that kind of hair
Yes some people have straight , weavy and curly hair like mee
Tips :use curly hair champoo for the end of your hair it realy help to have beautiful curls
Have you heard of the curly girl method? I think it could benefit you!! It can also help wavy hair!! Xx
Well pls is there a chance you would recommend some videos for beginners about the curly girl method??
I mean this is pretty much it
My wavy hair is different everytime too. I think the not your mothers curly gel is amazing too.
Omgggg!! I saw the thumbnail and gasped within me. Sarah, you're absolutely stunning 🤩
Any diffuser would work too:) Hope this helps💕
Edit: btw im no proffessional lol but here's just a few tips that has worked for me and my hair:)
Thank you for your tips!! 🤍
i used to get the same bushy ends and tangles! but i started working the tiniest bit of coconut oil into my ends when it's freshly washed and wet -- literally smaller than a fingernail sized amount and spread it all over your palms before using praying hands on your ends-- and it makes them so shiny & soft until i wash again.
Even if we have split ends ? I want to try this
My hair is just like yours!
Your hair is gorgeous!! So shinny and bouncy!!
Definitely if you have hair that tangles look for a SPRAY leave in conditioner to add before your mousse!!! Cream leave ins tend to be too heavy for us wavy haired gals and its better to always stick to brushing your hair in the shower with your conditioner and then scrunch after or else you risk elongating your waves and discouraging their formation.
the upsidedow oil hair treatmeant is the holy grail to hairgrowth girl !!
I don't know why, but short hair will look so pretty on you 🤩🤩
You’re skin is so clear it’s so good !
I’ve been looking for this! i prefer wavy hair instead of curly 🥰
I have wavy hair but I never brush when wet because that can stretch and break the hair. So I just brush when it's dry because I'm growing it long and don't want breakage. Plus I just like the feel of brushed hair I hated leaving it unbrushed.
you are so pretty I am gonna cry
Your hair looks so long and healthy !😩 just a little tip if you want your hair to be define I suggest “Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Defining Cream,” I love how light weight is it😊.
Yes to this! I love the whole Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk line. It is perfect for my thinner and wavy hair (thanks to my kid lol, had straight hair for 29 years😂). I’m still learning too!
Finally find someone with same hair ..I also thought that my hair is weird..sometimes straight sometimes weave sometimes frizzy..
I've been struggling with how to properly take care of my waves, and this video just solved my problems. Thanks a lot ❤
Thank you so much for this Routine vid. I am a guy but this still helped me allot since I am growing my hair out very long atm.
Oh!! When you put your products in, make sure your hair is soaking!! You gotta hear that squish sound
Do you ever brush your hair? I need tips please
Your hair color lenght and texture is Exactly like mine wow😲
What's the product you've applied on your lips in the start of video, looks so fresh and appealing!😍
🌸 When using (coconut)oil, you can try to heat it a little bit in a glass bowl and then use a dropper to apply it directly on your scalp.
I have a straight hair so I don't have much experiences with wavy hair.
But for me works very well to use shampoo and conditioner without silicones, sulfates and parabens. I always shampoo twice, then I apply a mask (now usually twice in a month) and finish with conditioner. After washing my hair I let it air dry and apply leave in conditioner on the length of my damp hair and lock moisture in with a few drops of oil.💦
I think fly aways are caused by lack of hydration.
@@Eva.sadalmelik thank you so much dear, i will surely try on my hair. Really thanks a lot!!
A tip: detangle your hair just before hopping in the shower because then you'll get detangled hair after washing and you wouldn't have to brush it wet as wet hair is a lot more fragile and brushing it makes it weak and leads to breakage.
It's tried and tested ✌.
Yea my hair is exactly the same as her with the volume, waves nd problems. Nd this tip has always been my life saver it really works.
@@rouki2234 ikr!!!
Try rosewater spray to refresh, it is very lightweight but helps refresh :)
Your hair is so nice ❤️
My dear thank you so so much, this is exactly what i was looking for, because all i found was mostly curly and my hair is wavy, thank you for your effort you look amazing and beautiful ❤️
