  • We FINALLY make it to Georgetown and oh what fun we have! This is a very sentimental video of all the memories and friendships that we made in the 16 days that we were there. Thank you to SV Kairos, SV Vidorra, SV Haste Away & SV Spero for making this time so incredibly special. This is not goodbye but see ya later down the road.
    Follow our families journey as we plan to Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,300/mo. We left the US in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries and 6 continents.

    I have got to say that I find it very amusing to hear your take on your travels👏. You are very open about your ups and the downs and that makes it very relatable. You all seem to take things in stride. Love how you take the time to introduce yourself to the locals and chat with them.

      Thank you so much! We really appreciate that! I wish I would have found others that did not just show the good parts. I want to remember our journey for everything it is including the bad. It’s really great meeting new people especially the locals. 😊

    Hey guys, it feels like every time I comment, its always thanking you for being real, raw, and authentic in your videos. My wife and I are set on purchasing and sailing a catamaran when our 1 year old is old enough, but she was worried about the solitude and lack of community it might bring. My worries were mostly around raising our son in a Church fellowship enviroment while traveling. This video has answered a lot of the doubts we had, so THANK YOU!

      So good to hear. So far, almost every "port" or marina we have been in has had some sort of church service on Sundays. You can be as lonely as you want out here or have friends over every night - it really is up to you. I (Shannon) am not the most outgoing person but know that I am not using all my words at work with my patients daily, I actually enjoy the social aspect. I appreciate your kind words! They keep me motivated to continue making these videos. In my personal opinion, I feel that age 5yr would be the minimum age that I would want to take out to do this. They are finally old enough where they might remember some of the travels, homeschooling elementary school is fairly easy, they are old enough to play with others without you needing to be right there and old enough to be pretty confident swimmers. I know people do it with babies but I told Rob I really wish we could have done it when the kids were between 5-10 years of age. Take a look at The Sailing Family from a few years back. I really enjoyed there videos. Best of luck to you guys!

    Keep'em coming. Continue to love the travel, family and people stories. They are precious. Was just down in Exuma at the very same cove a few weeks ago. Was excited to see your video of the area...brough a big smile remembering the beautiful sights. Know you will love Panama...some of the best shopping I have experienced in my world travels.... complements of the US Navy. Don't know if it's in your plans, but passage through the canal is amazing, one you will forever reminisce on.

    You might already have one but a fuel scrubber/water separator/fuel polisher is a great idea to deal with questionable fuel.

    • @SailingParadiseFalls
      @SailingParadiseFalls  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We do not have one but definitely considering but the “want list” is adding up and I’d rather use that money for adventures. We’ve been filling our Jerry cans & use a jiggler to siphon the fuel leaving the dirt in the bottom of the can. So far, that’s worked well😊

    • @codegame027
      @codegame027 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Technically, you could DIY one that just uses a 12v fuel pump and a remote semi-truck fuel filter. @@SailingParadiseFalls lookup "DIY fuel polisher" on YT/google

    Love your videos!! My husband and I are planning on getting into this life style. But first, we must get rid of debt. We’re from West Palm Beach.
    My most fear is isolation while living in a catamaran. Im so glad I watched this video, now I know that theres a community and even a Christian community which is amazing!!!! I hate being alone so love to see that there are so many people to share life with at sea.

    • @SailingParadiseFalls
      @SailingParadiseFalls  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is as much social interaction as you need or you could be isolated. Today, in Georgetown Bahamas over 400 boats. Get connected by joining each ports Facebook pages and WhatsApp groups. Don’t be afraid to dingy up to a nearby boat & I introduce yourself. Almost every place we have been has had some sort of church service and if not we join our home church online.
      Getting out of debt is key to this lifestyle. We did than then lived on our 1 income for 7years to save up. It can be done on any budget.
      Thank you such much for sharing your dream with us!

    Will you be buddy boating with anyone? Is so can you say who? It would be fun to watch their channel too if they have one. I wish you safe, and wind in your sails! I loved seeing davis smile and my heart hurt a little when hugging good bye.. this is teaching him things so important. How not to get to depressed with good byes and to look to the future knowing life will not disappoint if you give it a chance . And Shannon i cry at all goodbyes even when excited to be going.. still loving your channel!

    Be careful if you get into Georgetown. I am sure you heard the sad news of the medical couple on a catamaran. Be careful everywhere. The Caribbean can be a bit like the Wild West.

      Which “medical couple” event are you referring to?

      We’ve been at sea for 6 days - what happened?

    • @dantheman164
      @dantheman164 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry, not medical couple. American couple. Siri sometimes gives me issues. If I don’t have my glasses I can’t see it.
      An American couple living on their catamaran were mustered by three local escaped convicts. You have to be very careful. They saw the couple on shore and followed them back to their boat. Boarded the boat and stole it.

    I have to agree with many of your viewers, I love how you all keep it real. Davis cracks me up, he is very blunt on how feels about things. Dang power boats, lol I promise we don’t fly through anchorages. I just watched @tulasendlesssumer they were in the same area. They said if you walk about a 1/4 mile from the dinghy dock the grocery store is cheaper than the one near the dinghy dock. Too funny your experience is completely opposite, lol

    • @SailingParadiseFalls
      @SailingParadiseFalls  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s been our experience being out here! Some people like one thing and others don’t. We were first power boaters so we understand but we always respected boundaries and understand that we are responsible for our wake. Davis is coming right along. I want to show real life and remember exactly what I was thinking and felt. Thank you for watching!!
