I have A-fib, which caused a mini stroke about 10 years ago. I also have SVT, which is usually about 250 beats per minute (NOT comfortable!). I've been electrically cardioverted twice (usually a fast acting IV medicine called Adenosine works, but when it doesn't, I gotta get shocked). Cardioversion isn't so bad if they do it right...once I didn't even realize they did it, the other time it literally left burn marks on my chest! (that time they used the manual paddles, not the big sticky pad electrodes)
Hey there fellow CHD heart warrior!!! I just had a very similar night, which was quite scary. I have been dealing with tachycardia as one of my defects, been years on beta blockers but it was my first time with atrial flutters. It was quite a scary night. Anyway, great to meet someone else who has experienced something I have. Come on over to my new channel if you want to hear my story!! Happy trails!!
