- On today's show Technical Producer Bryan Baker steps in and shows us how to us LuBan. LuBan is a software that allows you to take models that are way to large for your printer and cuts them up to fit any size printer.

OK, I'm confused... there's no "module" method under the mesh / LuBan menu.
same for me ,
@@guidancebeats yep mine the same
just go mesh > cut > then the method should be "modular cut"
Question. So in order to scale a marvel figure to a 6 foot tall figurine from a standard sized STL, do I scale it up in Luban, or in another software?
super cool vid! im printing a lifesize jabba the hutt would i still select mm or would i go to inches? thanks :)
Good job, Bryan. LuBan pricing has been set and released. Basically, it's $12 / year up to 5 years for $60 and $120 for a permanent license.
Thanks Ben! I'm seeing $20 for the first year. I plan on reaching out to the dev to see if I can get a trial license to look at all the features in the app.
The actual app had a lot of features but no documentation, so I can't fully determine at this stage if the value is reasonable.
@@BryanBakerXBrav yes, they've apparently changed it slightly from the original announcement.
300$ permanently now! 🤕
Trying this for the 1st time in ages. "CUT" is greyed out... No "export parts"
Amazing content! Congrats! Keep up the good work!
hey whats the tolerance should i put in to give a good fit and but not impossible to get in mine are at default which is 0 but i know that that probably will not fit i could use the help as soon as possible
Nice Video. Thanks Bryan
Rock on man i appreciate it
Cool video great information.
so i know this video is older but my experience with Luban/cura is that luban does its job but when i put the file in cura it says its not water tight and i need to "fix" my model. I haven't found one print i can scale up to full size and its frustrating.
Great video:)
my LuBan does not have modular
There is no module option.
Good video. But audio is shaky.
That's on me. The gating was aggressive. Hopefully it's still clear.
sorry why does my version not have the option for module? i want to buy it but i dont think it is working like this anymore...
Yeah i cant find this option in the software anymore either :-/
oooh its under mesh ---> cut ---> modular now :)
@@evavoo thank you!
Guess I expected the software to allow you to scale a piece to a large size before cutting it up...
If you enter a new value to either one of the axis in the Lu Ban process>Input>Model Axis - it will scale it uniformly. Press Enter
I'm pretty sure it takes a small model and prints it large scale. Show how to do that please.
You should have made a puzzle and put it together on camera
You didn't really show the results. Those printed pieces looked terrible and did not look like they would go together or create a decent looking larger model. I certainly wouldn't waste money on this slicer based on this video
Dayum! The "module" method is no longer on the options list. It is still easy to cut, but then you have to be able to scale it properly from your slicer. Like the cut pieces show up in cura. Just the size of a lego.
It's under MESH/CUT now
YEAH I have that Program too :-) I have Documentation for it LOL
!!!Attention!!! To all they are new into Luban3d: The "cut" has moved to menu Mesh/cut!!!
nice video, but yeah that mic is horrible....
