With this ring I thee wed to save paying inheritance tax 😂 Great podcast, very informative and interesting. Margo was an excellent guest, down to earth , clear and concise explanation of law.
I love this podcast! I'm learning so much about Scottish land law. I've always believed that two people who have been living together for more than a couple of years, you really need to get married. I have a friend who's future in-laws threw her out of her own home after her fiancee died at sea in a Navy helicopter that went down. He had bought the house for her but they hadn't had a chance to get married yet. His parents, in their grief, let her have her clothes, but not the furniture that she had purchased, etc. GET MARRIED!!!
Another good podcast. I’m not a farmer but I think I bore my brother and sister in law with all the information I gain from your podcasts and from Dalscone Farm when I visit them every Tuesday lol!!!!!
As someone who has just made a will , very satisfying podcast. As someone that had a " Limited Partnership Tennancy" that lost out because of the awful 2003 Act that got rid of more Tennants than anything else. Keep the good work up.
Important caveat, you are discussing Scottish Law, English law differs, especially in regard to claims on wills. In England, it is harder to claim a legal right against a will. Great content, and should help focus people's mind as to getting their s#£t sort.
Enjoyed this podcast about law and farms too. As an American I would love to hear from a realtor that deals with land and farms. The prices for land and lease cost and laws on selling land.
Very informative and somethings we really need to look into. Wills and getting married definitely solve a lot of legal issues. It’s good to see you thinking about getting married 😂. Of course you do realise this is a leap year so maybe Lizzy will ask you instead? 🤔
In Germany, if you are not married, you are the same as a random stranger from the street: no inheritance, no widows allowance, no pension, not even if you raised a barn full of children together. Without a marriage certificate or a waterproof will you are on your own. Cannot make medical or care decisions for your spouse if need be.

If ever there was a reason for a marriage of convenience 😂
What dose Britain make anymore that stands out to be the best? I think it's only meat?? We used to have steel and furniture off the top of my head
