Oh have a truly amazing time, don’t over pack clothes. I have still packed way too many things this time. I’ve been away over a month and still not worn some things!!!! Wish I had packed less!!!! So glad you find vlogs helpful you will have an amazing time. There will be highs and lows but overall the highs will win 🥰
I have the same eagle creek backpack in the plum color and used it for 3 weeks in Europe and I agree , it’s awesome. I too, am sorry they d/cd it. It’s awesome
It’s getting to the exciting time. Can’t wait for the travel to begin. Enjoy stay safe and good luck walking up all the lookout hills 🤣they make exciting footage.
Thank you I’m really excited to start sharing my travels again. I’m a couple weeks in and I’m trying to get content out there. The WiFi 🛜 is not the best so uploading is proving difficult. 🥰
It was about 9.5 without the red one inside!!!! 🥴😁 Ive been lucky not to have it weighed yet!!! On my last two flights I was aloud 7kg so I paid extra to get 14kg of hand luggage. So all was ok. I have definitely still packed too many clothes!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m preparing for a SE Asia trip very soon. Minimal packing is a struggle. I tend to add backup pants or shorts because finding replacements in my size would be difficult. They are lightweight. But I’m going to do a dry run this weekend and see how it goes. Wish me luck. Appreciate your insights.
You got this! Last year I packed just in case and I ended up regretting it as I donated clothes and even posted some home as had way too much stuff. It’s hot you can get washing done so cheaply and it’s normally back the same day. There is honestly nothing worse than lugging around lots of stuff in the heat. I have still packed too much this time!!!! I’ve been away 3 weeks and given away the shorts playsuit and not worn some other stuff!!!! Please pack light promise you won’t regret it. Do take a light hoodie for aircon buses and dorms also something to cover to protect from sun. Have a wonderful time 🥰
I'm off to travel round Australia in a few months so looking for ideas to travel lighter. Last time I did a long trip I took a small suitcase so I may get a rucksack this time instead.
If you’re moving around a backpack is definitely easier. Although it has to be light enough for you to carry easily. You will definitely need a couple of nice outfits for Australia I’m in Asia and it’s much less dressy here. Take some time to find yourself a good capsule set of clothing. Have a wonderful trip I’m very jealous hopefully one day I will be able to return to Australia. 🥰
Yes I agree. The people are so very friendly the islands well no words just stunning ❤ it is more expensive to get around because you have to island hope. Also you have to sort all travel yourself. It’s not as easy to move around than Thailand. 😊
At the time of filming it was 9.4 without the small bag inside. To be honest since I started traveling I have not put the small bag inside as I always want my valuables with me. I still feel I have packed too many clothes!!!! I have already given the blue playsuit away and bought a Sarang!!!!
Have you flown on any of the airlines that have a 7kg carry-on limit? Jetstar Asia has a limited of 7kg for the combined weight of carryon and personal item and Singapore Airlines has a 7kg limit. What has been your experience. I’m scheduled to leave the US on Monday and have no idea how to navigate that without checking my bag which I don’t want to do because it will have all of my stuff/clothes. @@nanwithabackpack
@chevelleflorida I have only checked my bag once so far and that’s because my flight came with 25kg included with the price. I did upgrade one flight so I could have 2 hand luggage bags up to 14kg. But no one has actually weighed my bags so far!!! People do seem to carry a lot of heavy looking bags on?!? I will say I still think I have brought too many clothes!!!! 🤦🏼♀️ But much better than last time. I have already donated the playsuit my daughter gave me!!!!
@@nanwithabackpack thank you for sharing your experience! I just recently took a couple of day 3-day backpack trips. and was so proud of myself. Now I’m challenged to take a backpack for a month to a country where I am much larger than the average size. A Last-minute decision that was supposed to be fun has become stressful. I’m trying to recenter myself. I’ve been surprised that i don’t see much about the 7kg limit. You have one of the smallest bags that I’ve seen. Fun fact: a friend sent me a journaling book. It weighs in at 1.6 pounds. I didn’t have a heart to tell her that it will not make the cut. 😆 Well wishes on your continued journey!
I have really not used my mask and snorkel much this year at all. But the couple of times I have used it, I have really appreciated it. The thought of using a snorkel somebody else has used does not appeal to me. Next time I’m really gonna have to think hard whether I’m going to pack it or not. It’s strange you’ve written this question as I was only talking about this yesterday. 😊😃
@ thank you for your feedback and your answer , yes I’m debating whether to pack mine or not I know I can buy over there as well but I’m only doing backpack and weighing out how much I’ll use it. I know I’m going to go snorkeling through the diff islands in south east Asia, ugh decision decisions lol
Will be doing 2 bags 1 25l 1 30 l so never have to lose my bag almost 4 times in one trip! Difficult for longterm as need to take so many meds.. my only thing is in hostels things never dry overnight!
Nope. Don’t want to carry everything on my back. I love my wheeled carryon hardshell. That towel only serves one purpose. If you bring a sarong instead, it can be a towel, skirt, shawl, blanket, curtain, lampshade, or shopping bag.
lol sometimes I wish I had a wheeled carry on but I do love my backpack 🎒 Yes I completely agree with you about the towel but I have to say I don’t regret it at all I have used it every day. I have a sarong I bought when I arrived in Philippines I have used it a lot….. as a skirt a dress cover up and to lay on, on the beach and to cover my head. But I do love my clean fluffy towel when I get out the shower. 🥴😁🤗

Just found you recently and am embarking on a similar journey beginning in May. Your videos are invaluable!

I wanted the plum colour but unfortunately they have sold out and blue was the only option. I’ve not seen any backpack since that I like as much. 🥴🥰
Xero shoes rock! I’ve the same in brown.
Oh yes I love mine 🥰
Loved your video - thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it. I’m hoping to make an updated video as what is in my bag has changed since I’ve been away. 😁

Yay! Thank you! I hope you enjoy my up coming adventures. 😃
❤❤❤thanks for your video 😊
When full, how much did your bag weigh? Because now almost all airlines is 8 kilos … or it will be checked 😞

I do my trial run packing this weekend. I’ll see how it goes. Thanks for encouragement. I do bring souvenirs back. I have to keep that in mind.

🙏 Thank you I left UK on 7th January and flew to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 for 4 days. I’m now in the Philippines 🇵🇭. 🥰

Hi Sonja, fantastic and informative video, can I ask “what weight was your backpack once packed “ Thanks

Curious about the snorkel and bringing I am debating bringing one of mine but I’m thinking it’s easier to get over there right?

What does this packed bag weigh? Apologies if it was mentioned and I didn’t hear it.
I believe it was about 9.5kg
I think the thong flip flops are easy to buy and quite cheap abroad.
Yes they definitely are as are crocs I already had some so will use and then replace them as needed 🥰
Active nanna with a backpack. The bags that open all the way round appear to hold more and are more accessible.
Yes definitely I unzip and can slip my back underneath most beds. I love my backpack 🎒
Do you ever go to winter summer countries and have to pack a small bag for two climates?
I have not done so yet but I do want to visit Norway one day so at some point I will have to think about that. 😁
Links to your travel items ?
Oh oooops thanks for reminding me I will get on it as soon as I can. 🥰

Are you still loving the towel
Yes it’s been fantastic so very happy with it even though it takes up more room than the other one. I have still brought too many clothes though!!!! 😆
