- Okay, this is one of those that needs to be seen in person. The face printing on the Medicom MAFEX THe Dark Knight Joker 2.0 looks rough in close-up pics, but in-person it's hard to beat. Not a single QC issue to be had, everything is nice and tight. I'm calling it, guys. Top 5.

Star Wars will always be Star Wars ... but it's impressive that we're all still buying Nolan-verse Joker merch 10 years after the fact. Definitely picking this dude up.
Heh, I didn't even think of it that way. And when the next big revolution in action figures happens, like real skin covering all the joints or shrink technology, we'll probably buy them all again.

They see Me rollin Lmao current Star Wars films and Star Wars toys are currently utter shit. No revenue because of no interesting characters. DCEU maybe off to a rocky start, but Star Wars is on a mudslide to irrelevancy.

Wow, I feel like this figure really nailed the overall vibes of Ledger Joker, so much so I think it's probably the best we have in this scale right now. As an aside, I think the second head sculpt is based on the mob boss scene: i.imgur.com/rWpJfNT.jpg
Incidentally, the mob boss scene seems to be what the main head sculpt is based on as well.
Sh figure has good face but needs to l customize the make up

Two years ago, a show called Red vs Blue had its season 13 finale, which ended just before a big, final battle. When I mentioned how I liked that they didn't show the battle, as that wasn't the point of the episode, my friend disagreed, saying that they will absolutely show the battle when the story continues. We decided to make a bet on it, and the winner gets an action figure from the loser.
Years later, I won the bet, and because of how good this line is, I'll be getting the MAFEX Bane without a doubt. I'm so excited for the rest of this line, honestly.
If Bane is this good then I'll say you're making out like a bandit. I never did finish Red vs. Blue, as much as I loved Caboose.

This looks so much better than the last one! I still feel like perhaps the 7-inch NECA Joker is tops in terms of likeness, but perhaps my opinion will change when I receive mine. Also, I’m digging the darker blue background and the dual camera setup.
I didn't think the new background would be as different as it is but it's crazy how much it changed. And I love that 7-inch Joker but this one, so good.

Nice! These MAFEX releases are looking more and more tempting. I think this is the first time I've noticed the face printing so prominently in a video, but like you said, the sculpt is there for repainting, and the print acts as a pretty handy guide for that, too. It's like really tiny connect-the-dots!
Yeah, it's way more noticeable because it's on a white base instead of skintone. That and there is a lot of printing here, with the makeup and such.

Little nitpick: The RPG is wrong. In the movie it's a Chinese Norinco Type 69 ( bi-pod is the giveaway ). The Mafex has a Russian RPG-7 and it's been elongated for visual impact. It's longer than it should be in 1/12 scale BUT it does look GREAT on the shelf.

I can't help but think about how much I adore the dark Knight. It's almost a flawless film. I bought this figure because it's such a damn good movie I love it.
I remember seeing it in the theater opening night and thinking "Good grief, what did I just see?"

Shfiguarts is hot garbage. I am skipped it because it's looks terrible, glad Mafex nailed it with Joker 2.0.

I chose the figuarts route for the Nolan trilogy, so I’m really hoping they continue that after Selina Kyle (otherwise I’ll have to start over with Mafex) Funny thing is I have the same opinion with the figuarts Joker, the first head that’s on the figure out of the package is the best Ledger likeness.

Really looking forward for this figure, I specifically passed on the SHF Joker because of this one (I didnt have the chance to cancel my preorder for the SHF Dark Knight Batman), If the Mafex Batman is as good as the Joker figure I might have to eventually sell my SHF Batman or which is more likely I'll end up buying the Batpod to have an "use" for that figure jajaja. Great Review as always Robo. 3 down, just 5 more to go on this line...so far (here's hoping for a Ra's Al Ghul, heck I'd even take a Gordon and an Alfred if they made them)

Great figure wish you could've did a comparison with the 7 inch Dark Knight Joker since I think they got it right with the chain being gold idk for sure. Also it would be cool if there was a Jim Gordon figure that or they should do a two pack like Hot Toys did by having Jim Gordon and John Blake with the Bat signal
I spaced on the NECA because of the scale. And that's not a bad idea, I'd buy a two pack and the signal. Hmm.

I own the sh figuarts joker and the first mafex joker and the bank rober and you are correct the sh figuarts joker doesn't compare to the first mafex joker and I cant Wait to get this one.great review
Cool figure! I agree about the face printing...especially for Joker because he’s wearing makeup. I think it sucks that you don’t get the arms. Mafex is almost forcing you to buy all versions. I wish you did a comparison with the NECA one.

Don’t use that b-roll angle cam, it really doesn’t add that much to the review apart from confusing. Love the fact that you’re trying for new stuff but a 45-ish high angle cam isn’t the usual point of view most people wanna se their figures. Cuddos for the effort tho!

Would you think the accessories and weapons will work for the 7-inch mcfarlane joker. I just bought it but It came with NO accessories.

I've been waiting for this review fora while now. And I had just paid for my order that had the Mafex Joker.
I also felt exaclty the same with the 1st version of Mafex Joker, I was always about to buy it just because it was the only Heath Ledger Joker at that scale but I could never bring myself to buy it and now I'm happy I didn't and got this one instead.
I did bought the SHF Joker along with Batman and I like it buuut... he just doesn't look right. I wouldn't have bought him in the 1st place but the Mafex joker (and Batman) bought were announced right after I had placed my pre-orders for both of them.
I'm still on the fence about getting the bank robber Joker because we migth get a 2.0 one but even if we do I can always use the original as a random clown thugh.
True, but honestly, as long as I passed on the Bank Robber until it dropped waaaay down in price, it's damn nice for what it is. I don't care too much for the unmasked head but the masked? Perfect.
Can you make a comparison between SH Figuarts, NECA, Mafex, DC Multiverse figure video?
Mine is on the way, but I own the SHF and based on reviews- I prefer this. The SHF Joker is shorter than Bale... so yeah. Plus this shade of purple and the chain.... lets see if I dig this over the 7" NECA.

Are those figures durable? Would there arms or legs fall off or detach if you drop it or play with it to hard?
Taken as a whole the figure looks really good. That being said, I think it was a mistake to use printing tech for the faces. It takes away from what looks like good sculpts. I think they should have painted the faces like what NECA did with theirs. Yes NECA's Joker is a larger scale so maybe its a bit easier to paint. But still, not everything needs to be printed.
My only other issue is the coat. The sculpt for it seems really weak, almost Mattel Multi-Verse-ish. Would have expected better from Medicom.
I really need this figure. 75 bucks is a lot tho. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Yeah, I decided to get a new background because the old was too small. The bigger stuff I found was darker and I was worried, but I think I like this even better.
Best DK Joker till this day.
Check out the kai studio joker head... a little small but the painted details put Mafex and figuarts heads to shame. I got the v1 joker and May mod the neck joint to help the head sit more flush.
Wish this came with the interrogation outfit arms, but I think they’ll come with guard version figure.

Oh yeah, a handpainted head will always look better than factory produced. This really makes me want to throw some paints at it, it would be just filling in the light spots.

Yes, yes I do want a kick arse Joker for my shelf! One suggestion maybe zoom out a little when doing the size comparisons the video cards are covering up the heads of the figures. My Mafex Joker can't arrive soon enough, great review.

My heath ledger joker 'grail' is still the NECA one. Or Hot toys, specially that joker/Heath face blend type figure. But I'm just not in a position to rob a bank at the moment......
I actually, miraculously ended up with a Hot Toys Ledger Joker and it's the jewel of my collection. Even though I have absolutely nothing else to go with it except a Hot Toys Crow and Deadpool.

Considering this as my first MAFEX but the price is bugging me. Can someone please explain how $100 is justified for a 6" figure like this? It's detailed and has cool accessories but it just seems unwarranted. I have an enormous collection I've spent thousands on over the years but I never buy something without feeling like I'm getting what I payed for. Thanks.

Although the face print is apparent here when you get close up, I prefer this one over the SHF.

I am the only guy in the world who really doesn't like this trilogy as a Batman trilogy but I love the look of these figures.
I'm REALLY hoping they announce a Jim Gordon in the line though.
Damn, I didn't even think of Gordon. Now I need him. And really, when it comes down to it, I'm in and out when it comes to watching these. I'm definitely more into The Dark Knight but I'm usually doing something else while any of the three is on. Love the designs and parts. Kind of like the Star Wars prequels.
Definitely not the only one. As a Batman fan, the only thing I really like about the Nolan trilogy is the action figures. I hate TDK batsuit but for some reason I really dig the Christian Bale Batman figures ( Mafex only... probably because their versions aren’t completely accurate to the suit from the film) IMO their figures are an improvement whereas SH’s looks like the actual suit accurately from the film which I don’t like.)

Not yet. The closest we've gotten is a Soap Studios cloth goods prototype shown at an overseas show a while back.

I got a damn knockoff from China with ball joints for shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles. It looks awful. Head sculpt looks nothing like Heath Ledger. But they sent me a legit box full of the legit accessories. How is this possible??

It was 80s in Arkansas, so we didn't know the butterfly knife was a thing in the 80s until at least the mid-90s.
Figuarts still has a better likeness of the character/actor. That cannot be disputed imo.
It can be disputed, especially looking at the SHF and not seeing much likeness at all.

Why have a 2nd camera?. You were doing just fine with 1, Not to be mean And again NOT TO BE MEAN but, No one asked for this, Camera work was never a problem, until now.
I was just testing and playing, got another tripod over the weekend and thought what the hell.
The Fwoosh I like the new camera angle but it could use some finessing so don't take this the wrong way but, try lowering the 2nd camera so that it's not so much of a bird's-eye view but not so level and dead on as the main camera. Also try to center the product on 2nd camera it was too far to lright leaving a lot negative space on the left. I know it's because you can't through make both cameras at the same time. Maybe you can put some subtle pencil marks to help you keep the figures centered for the second camera.
Not a reason in the world to pay $100 for this when the SHF version is $45 now
